Warren Dunes State Park is a perfect day trip from Chicago during the summer. The dunes themselves are breathtaking and arguably more impressive than the Indiana dunes. The beach is huge, massive, and clean, and the water is typically clear and gorgeous. The sand is soft and clean with minimal rocks. The food trucks are decent but not terribly overpriced - great for a quick bite. The facilities are clean and well maintained. Only criticism is the gift shop is quite overpriced, but that’s not surprising. We love making an early drive from Chicago, going to the beach for a few hours here, then checking out the local shops and restaurants around Three Oaks and New Buffalo.
Staff at the entrance was super friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and fun. Tons of parking and the parking lots were very clean. Beautiful park. The Dunes were fun to climb. The beach was clean and busy but not overly packed. We had plenty of space to lay out. The restrooms were clean and pleasant.
If you are into long trails and love the woods this is your jam. We did the trail to Lake Michigan, 1.5 miles there and back. The walk was well worth it. There are also benches along the way. Trust me it's a good thing dude to the hills that you walk up and down. It is very clean!!
It's our favorite beach to go to. On the north end you can take your leashed dogs too. That end is not a busy. Great views and hiking trails add to the beauty.
This is one of my favorite day-trips I have ever found. The beach is HUGE and the water is clean. If you like beaches and are in the Midwest, this should be a destination 👌🏼👍🏼 We showed up at 11am and found a space closer to the lake. As we left around 4, there was a longer lineup of cars than in the morning. This place can hold everyone though! A huge dune to run or slide down and some clay pits in the woods are nice features too 👌🏼
We had a great weekend camping with family at Warren Dunes! The campground is close to the beach, the campsites are a good size, and the bathrooms were clean! The only suggestion that I have is that because the line to get back in once you leave can get quite lengthy and cut into your time at the campground once you've already registered and have an orange placard, it would make sense to let those campers go in the very right hand lane to quickly get back into the park instead of making them wait in a very long line to reenter. Thank you!
We regularly drive an hour away from home just to come here every summer. Multiple times a summer. The beach is pristine. Clean and soft. AND, there's the best little ice cream shop across the street that we go to every time we come out, too!
Everything was absolutely beautiful. Very clean park and beach, plenty of parking throughout the park and at the beach, and clean bathrooms. Perfect place to spend time enjoying nature and/or relaxing on the beach.

My favorite Michigan beach, short walk to the dog beach section. Great place for swimming, sun bathing, rock hounding, dog walks/swims (though before they do patrol to check for leashes). Pavilion has snacks, bathrooms and often live music. Beautiful place to see sunsets and they play taps at sunset every night in the summer! Only negatives is: They do charge a steep fee to park (seems like best value to stay all day or pay for the season pass if you live nearby). And cell service is pretty spotty/non-existent in certain areas.
It was our first time coming to this beach, and we had THE BEST TIME! It is such a BEAUTIFUL beach and not overcrowded even on a Saturday. We came in the end of June, and the temp of the water was actually perfect. It was a really great place to have fun with my family. We made some good memories here. We'll definitely add this to our list of places to come back and visit!
Beautiful and clean beach. Dogs are allowed on the south side of it, beyond the sign and they even have a dog trail. Unfortunately they only have daily parking so if you want to stop for a quick walk on the beach you have to pay the $11 parking. Very disappointing.
Great place to take the family spend all day sucks u gotta pay $15 to park its all day or nothing just came for some pictures and the sites. It should judge by the hour for parking at least. Very pretty place though.
Wow I cannot say enjoy good things about this place. Plenty of paved parking, it does cost $15 and that’s for the entire day. They had restrooms, places where you can wash sand off, kayak, paddle boarding & life vest rentals and a concession stand. It was closed while we were there. The beach itself is very clean. It was hard to forget it was a lake & not the ocean. They also have a scenic overlook area. Can’t wait to come back!
Beautiful and very clean beach! It was our first time to the great lakes and the kids had a blast!
This place is fantastic. Wonderful beach. Parking is $15 but well worth it! We had a wonderful day here!!
Love this beach. They have a nice snack bar, restrooms, changing rooms, beachy rentals, and awesome sunset views.

This was so much fun. Go karts, boat bumper cars, putt putt golf and more. There is a little snack stand too! It's all cash only! There is an ATM on site. Was a great afternoon of family fun!
Decent place to take the family and spend some time. I rode the go-karts with my youngest while my older son got his own car. My youngest is just under the height requirement so it was a bit tight for the two of us. It was a Monday afternoon so not too busy. We then played a round of golf. 18 holes of various difficulties. We enjoyed it and had a good time.
We went for the miniature golf. The course was well maintained with unique features. There were plenty of other things to do, go carts (including a track for the wee ones) bumper cars, bumper boats, batting cages, etc. Staff was cheerful and friendly. We will definitely go back and include the grandkids..
Great Place for the entire family!!! miniature, golf, batting cages golf carts, an amazing little arcade for the kids where they can earn tickets and redeem for prizes. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.
Fun hour or so here on a hot Saturday for Mom and tween. Played mini golf, rode race cars and bumper boats. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff.
We came here spur of the moment and so glad we did! It was such a cute little spot with lots of stuff to do! Really cheap pricing if you ask me! We came just to play mini golf and do arcade games but it was hopping with kids everywhere! The park we well kept, and the workers were so friendly! If we ever come back to the area we will definitely come back!
We played mini golf. It was a fine course. The balls bounce back out of the cups often - sort of frustrating, but the price was quite reasonable which we appreciated as a family of ten. Very friendly staff.
Always a great time for the family. Fun put put, friendly staff, clean. We come every summer!

The beers at Transient are solid, and I didn’t have a single bad one during my visit. The last beer I had, a high gravity stout with notes of toasted coconut, was about as good of a dessert beer as I’ve ever had. Despite being so strong, it wasn’t boozy at all. I also like their lagers. The staff was friendly, and the space was comfortable. If you want a good beer, you can’t go wrong in going here.
Good looking taproom, nicely decorated. Multiple beer styles available on draught, friendly staff and a crazy selection of bottles. The dream place for Barrel-Aged lovers
My friend and I stopped in on our way back from Chicago for a pit stop on our journey home. We were met with a friendly bearded face of Bob. Bob was great! We chatted about many things and had a pint before getting bottles and cans to-go. Also, holy cow, the to-go selection was absolutely second to none! I'm not sure Horrock's had this good of a selection.
Transient Artisan Ales Staff were brilliant, welcoming and graceful hosting Wesby-Magee Notary Services LLC "Notarizing Stuff at The Taproom" Pop-Up Event. The atmosphere was great, relaxing and joyful. Definitely be coming back again for none work related stuff 😂😂
Fantastic beer especially if you are looking for big beers. Their stouts are amazing. The guy that serves you is awesome knowledgeable and makes great recommendations. I love this place and return here every year from Cincinnati.
I had the Ski Brew, a fruity sour. It was a fun one! Nice outdoor area, including easy access to a pretzel truck selling delectable soft pretzels. Nice lounge area on one side including a Demolition Man jukebox & they also sell carryout beer (and books too)!
Unquestionably the best craft brewery in Harbor Country. High quality and variety of beers on tap. The selection is excellent, with unique and wonderful flavors to discover. Cozy and pleasant vibe.
Consistently great beers in a small tap room that’s simple and consistently improving. I have been coming here since they first opened their doors here and can’t say I have ever had a bad beer. Dog friendly, family friendly, but no food so plan to bring or order in. Some of the best stouts, IPAs and sour/wild beers you will have in the Midwest. Highly recommend joining their annual membership program, it makes a world of difference for getting your hands on their highly sought after releases.

My friend and I had dinner here, and the pizzas were great. The wood firing gives an extra flavor, and the toppings were delicious. My pizza had BBQ sauce and pulled pork among other toppings, and I enjoyed every bite. The beer was also quite nice, and I’d recommend trying the Baltic porter. It’s definitely a decent place to enjoy a meal or night out.
I love pizza, I love beer! This place does both extremely well. I went in and asked for a pizza that is underappreciated, but is extremely good. They gave me the Elote! We also ended up, ordering the dragon and the potato bacon pizza. All three were exceptional. The suggestion was a surprise because I had corn never had a pizza with corn. The beer is a standalone we had the cold dark night, perkunas, house cider and my favorite the indignant, dirty chai. This is gonna be a place to stop by on a harvest toast in the future single overnight from where we are as well worth coming out. We did leave with two growlers.
My family and I have visited on multiple occasions, but this is the first time in four years. We enjoy eating wood-fired pizzas, especially those at Haymarket. We ordered the pepperoni, sausage, cheese, and Margherita pizzas. Each one was very flavorful, and we couldn't stop at 2 slices each because it was that good. A great balance of a bright and flavorful sauce and creamy fresh mozzarella cheese. I don't usually eat pizza with char, but I will eat these all the time. For our appetizer, we ordered the Pretzel. The pretzel was soft and had a nice chew, but the dipping sauces were not good at all. The Gouda cheese sauce tasted chunky like it had separated, and the hot cheese sauce had a very undesirable flavor. To me, they should create a beer cheese sauce with one of their house beers. I drank the Relief Peacher, a Peach infused IPA, and it was a very easy beer to drink with this pizza.
I love an Octoberfest beer, and this was the best one I have had in years. It had a rich malty aroma and a wonderful, toasty malt body with a well-attenuated crisp finish. This was a perfect festbier.
Staff was friendly overall. Nice outdoor area that includes some fire pits and they have wood stacked you can burn. Dogs allowed in the outdoor area. Beer was good. Pizza was good. Crispy crust but not overcooked. Good flavor. They had a water bowl for the pup as well.
One of my favorite breweries in Michigan. I have been here for more than three times now and never regret the drive. Best hangout place with friends/family if you live in Kalamazoo/Chicago/Indianapolis. If you are a vegetarian you should try the Shallots Pizza. I love it and be back again.
I order wood-fired pizza every chance i get. Haymarket is easily one of the best I've ever had. The Classic Supreme had perfectly charred crust and just the right amount of toppings. I ordered extra onions and added garlic. It was sublime. They also have a selection of dark beers that are exceptional. Pro-tip: if you want pizza, they don't serve it on Wednesdays.
My wife and I stopped in to check out the menu and decided on a pizza and French onion dip and house chips. I will be back.

We spent absolutely forever just browsing... every time I turned around there was something new to see! A joy for not only knitters but anyone looking for a thoughtful gift or tourists looking to kill an hour before a meal. Beautiful local yarn and a new line of plant dyed yarn will be available soon. I selected a couple of skeins and a pattern for my first 2024 make! 🤩
Truly stunning yarn and very high quality gifts and accessories, plus incredibly helpful and knowledgeable staff/owner! I was in town for work and am so happy I found this gem and managed to make room in my suitcase to bring all my new yarn home 😊
Beautiful handdyed yarn! Definitely a must to go during the week to watch the fiber processing in the back area and the owner and shop cat are extremely friendly and helpful.
What a lovely store! I had the pleasure to chat with Rick. He showed me around and was very polite. I can’t wait to be done with my current projects and get a sweater quantity of their blended yarn. It’s so soft and the Color’s are really nice
I like that they sell both made items and supplies, and I like a lot of the colors that they have. But the prices aren't quite as reasonable as I would like for what they offer and the selection is also pretty small. I would go here and be happy about it, but it would be my second choice.
Beautiful shop with wonderful shawls, blankets, yarn, and gifts. Had a wonderful experience there!
My favorite is the headbands. I have at least 20 and I buy more every time I visit. Visits to the sandpiper are the highlights of my life. The yarn is my favorite too. I love the weko beach inspired colors and the bulky is so plush and buttery. I buy gifts for holidays and most recently indulged myself in some valentine's decor and of course three new headbands. I love love love this store.
My mom and I had a great experience at the sandpiper, one of the shop owners, Anna was they're and friendly but let us browse without any pressure. They have many beautiful handmade items from artisans all around the area. I bought some local blueberry jam and Maple syrup which I can't wait to try. We were just about ready to check out when we started a conversation with Anna and she offered to bring us back to peak inside the yarn factory they have in the back. She did a great job explaining the process they go through to get different products and how versatile the process is in making made to order yarn. My mom and I ended up getting some of the yarn processed there for a close friend of ours. We can't wait to send it to her and see what she makes! What a great little place!

This tasting room has plenty of good options, but it is a bit basic inside. The staff was very friendly and helped me determine which version of the Albariño was my favorite. I was able to get the bottle I wanted after trying a few tastes, and it all went quite smoothly. It’s definitely not a bad spot to enjoy a tasting, and they have a good selection of Tabor Hill’s wine for sale.
Fun stop for tasting right on Red Arrow Highway. Personable, knowledgeable staff. Great wines. First fell in love with demi-sec. Now there's a white and a red. Cherry wine and Sparkling Cherry what a fun decision. Sparkling Peach was the overall fav this visit. Twenty years of tasting and there's always been hard choices. Quality and consistency are a given. The Sip n Savor passport card is a nice perk for swag(2022 clear insulation glass).
I haven't been here in years. In fact, I don't even think this is the same location which makes me sad. My mom used to work at the saugatuck tasting room decades ago, seasonally. She loved it. I learned so much about the wine from her. She felt like it wasn't even work and the business made her feel like family. Unfortunately, she passed away in September of 1996. I was always made to feel welcome and special when I visited after but eventually I had to move in with my grandparents across the state. I remember my mom's boss. She was so nice to us and kept in touch after my mom passed. Her name was Ann, I wish I remembered her last name. If anyone is wondering if they should visit, or you are trying to decide between Tabor Hill and another place....go to Tabor Hill. I would think a business making such a good impression it has lasted decades on one of their employee's children would be a green flag. It's a great atmosphere and the family is a good family. The wine is fantastic and has always been super affordable. They could easily charge double and get it, but I've always known them to want everyone to have access to good wine, not just the wealthy. Even though they've had the white House as a customer, along with Bob Hope. I remember the Bob Hope wine. The demi sec, right? White wine, dry. I think that's what it was. 80 cases for his 80th birthday. You'll definitely not regret going to Tabor Hill. By the way, my mother's name was Christine Pintoski but everyone called her Tina.
I prefer the tasting room over the restaurant. You can pick your own wines for the tastings. The service is more personal and inviting.
For as good as their wine is, we were underwhelmed with our visit. We went to their stand-alone tasting room, not the restaurant. The attendant was more interested in other things than her guest and pouring their next wine. There were 3 couples here, all with empty glasses. Another couple walked in to pick up some wines. I am going to presume regulars. She poured them some wine and sold them their wine, then proceeded to have a discussion with them. Ignoring all the other people in the room.
We enjoyed a fabulous tasting experience here. The attendant was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. We had a great visit and purchased a bottle.
Very nice tasting room in an old building that used to be part of a plant nursery.
Small tasting house (seats maybe 12-15 people) but the price is great and the conversation is even better!

Stopped by on vacation- wow! What a great selection of yarn. Rick was super helpful. Can’t wait to come back- it is worth the road trip!
This is a lovely shop with interesting items but the main attraction is the many specialty yarns.
We take all our alpaca fiber there and they do amazing work. They have such passion for what they do and it's so interesting to learn the whole process.
So many beautiful yarns to choose from, and very friendly! I stopped by on a whim while visiting from out of town and am so glad I did!
Local fiber processing to the most exacting standards. Every product is a work of art!
Terrible customer service for those looking to have their wool spun, especially if you’re a small farm. They have no interest in giving clear time frames or updates. Would look elsewhere too have your fiber processed.
Nicely curated selection of unique clothing, gifts and Michigan made yarn.
Great prices and even better quality!

A few friends and I have been coming here for years! Absolutly love it! Always tons of blueberries and a great time!
Going there for 40 years. The owner and staff are great. Blueberries are yummy. My wife and I pick our own. Went there Monday & Tuesday and picked 107 pounds. Will go again one day next week to get more.
Beautiful berries, friendly staff, excellent prices. We went here with friends and it was a wonderful experience! The berries were perfect and a great size, and the bushes were still loaded with fruit. Our kids had so much fun, and so did the parents. :)
Beautiful farm and the blueberries are SO GOOD. They provide hands-free belts and buckets (for free) which makes it much easier to pick blueberries. $1.75/lb for upick when we were there. Update in 2022: little disappointed in ready picked. Most of them were mushy and they didn't taste as good as when I picked them in past years. Not knocking off a star tho because past years upick were THAT heavenly.
My family and I have been coming here for years for our annual blueberry picking. Always great to take the trip. I would give 5 stars but today we drove all the way up to find they closed for the season. Which sucks and frustrating because I just called a week ago to confirm that they would have blueberries to pick. The man kindly said yes, we will have, most likely our last weekend. He didn’t mention that we should call again, or check on their site if closing early. Very frustrated with the staff member I talked to, especially since we live out of state. So WARNING if a staff member says they are open they may not be telling the truth or there is a big communication problem.
Really enjoyed picking blueberries today at Rambo Blueberries. . Probably the best we ever picked, very sweet and flavorful. Friendly service and close to the beach too! Would definitely come back.
I've never seen blueberries like this. Massive fields as big as corn fields, and the blueberry bushes are taller than adult height. Each bush has multiple pounds of incredibly sweet blueberries. More than a summer activity, this should be a destination for anyone passing through the area.
Great staff, plenty of space for everyone to spread out and pick blueberries. At the time of my visit, u-pick blueberries were $2.50/pound.
