Stayed at this beautiful hotel recently for a business conference. The staff was friendly and attentive. The hotel is gorgeous both inside and outside to include the grounds. The history tour at 10am was a nice way to learn more about the substantial past of the property. All conference rooms were spacious and there were many of them. My room was in the south building and was large with a great bathroom in a seperate room. Closet had a safe and the balcony was plenty large. The cleanliness of the room could be improved to include food chunks on the ground and hair in the bathroom. The tub also did not drain well and when showering was standing in ankle deep water quickly. There was plentiful gym equipment and the indoor pool was large and again gorgeous. Early in the morning after a night of guests there though had trash, broken glass, and alcohol containers strewn about the pool area. Nearby the Bachova beer company was walkable out of the spa entrance and was a great find with nice staff and reasonable prices. Depending on what income bracket you are in the food and drink prices at the hotel you may find very uncomfortable. However, this place was a nice experience. The random book shelves in hallways was nice and many places to sit and relax around the complex. The town and nearby towns are quite small but that is part of the charm of getting away at this place.
My husband and I chose the Omni Homestead for our mini-moon last weekend, and even though we were a little hesitant after reading some mixed reviews, we are so glad we decided to go. From the moment we arrived, the service was truly exceptional. We were greeted with glasses of champagne at check-in, and when we mentioned to Nicole at the front desk that we were celebrating our mini-moon, she surprised us with a complimentary bottle of cava, truffle, and a handwritten note in our room. Such a thoughtful touch! We spent a relaxing day at the spa, which was beautiful and serene, and later enjoyed cocktails in the Presidential Lounge where Ed was an incredible bartender—friendly, attentive, and fun to talk to. We did the Virginia Wine Experience, and had fun trying out local wines. Aoife, our server, was absolutely delightful—so kind, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. Although it was a little crowded because of Fall Fest, we still felt like we received personalized attention at every turn. Every staff member we encountered went out of their way to make us feel special. We were honestly sad to leave and wished we had more time to explore everything the resort has to offer. The grounds are absolutely stunning and well kept. If you’re on the fence like we were, don’t hesitate—book the trip. The Omni Homestead made our mini-moon unforgettable, and we can’t wait to return!
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4-Star Review for The Omni Homestead Resort We just returned from a one-night stay at The Omni Homestead for my 30th birthday, and overall, it was a beautiful and memorable experience. The property is absolutely stunning this time of year, and there is no shortage of activities! There’s plenty to explore and enjoy. One of my favorite touches was the complimentary 3pm tea time with pastries and hot tea or cocoa. Such a charming experience. We also loved the variety of on-site restaurants, and our room was clean with a very comfortable bed. The valet team deserves a special mention—they were outstanding. Friendly, professional, and full of personality. I also loved the puzzles and books available for guests; it made the resort feel warm and welcoming. Martha’s Market had some of the best coffee I’ve ever had, truly a standout. I also booked a spa massage, and I was so impressed with the entire experience. At first, the pricing felt high, but after spending several hours enjoying the amenities included, I realized it was absolutely worth it. Next time I will dedicate an entire day to the spa because I had no idea just how much there was to enjoy. The only part of our stay that fell short was the overnight service. I woke up at 5am needing water and realizing we forgot a toothbrush for my husband. I called the front desk, and although they assured me someone would bring the items, they never arrived. I called again an hour later—another apology, but still no delivery. Because we have newborn twins and three other young children at home, uninterrupted sleep was our top priority on this getaway, and I stayed awake so I wouldn’t miss the knock on the door. Unfortunately, the items didn’t arrive until around 9am, after my 4th phone call to complain and by then the morning rest we desperately needed was gone. We had already gone down to buy waters because we could not wait. The front desk assured me they would speak with a manager and offer something to make up for the inconvenience, but nothing was ever provided at checkout. I never expect compensation, but when something is promised, it’s disappointing when it isn’t followed through. Aside from that one issue, we genuinely enjoyed our stay, and there is so much about the resort that is truly exceptional. With a bit more consistency in guest service, especially during overnight hours, this would easily be a perfect five-star experience.
My first impression on the omni Homestead Resort was one of pure luxury and beauty. The grounds of the resort themselves are gorgeous and surrounded by trees. We went during the Fall and it was stunning. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal with plenty of good options and an omelette/waffle bar to justify the price. The staff and waiters were all very welcoming and kind. The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is that the hotel did not appear to be knowledgeable of amex hotel collection benefits such as the complimentary breakfast. I also noticed at the end of our stay that we were charged an additional resort fee of $49 a night as well as a charge for valet parking even though I was never told whether or not there was an option to park on my own. I have stayed at other luxury hotels with less hidden fees so this was a bit disappointing for us. However, they did charge my car for me whenever I asked which was appreciated and I have to also give a huge shout out to the concierge team. I mentioned to them that my wife and I had were on a mini honeymoon and when we came back for the day from activities, we returned to a room covered in rose pedals. Needless to say, they are very accommodating and I would still recommend staying at this beautiful hotel! Also the robes in the room are amazing
Beautifully renovated rooms. Staff is well trained and friendly. We found it very busy as there are over 400 rooms, good shops, and excellent dining. Visitors and guests mostly ignore the modest dress code. Resort is located far off the beaten path, but we'll worth a visit.
This place is amazing! The only regret I have is eating dinner at the Audubon restaurant for dinner. (Please note: the breakfast buffet at the Audubon restaurant is AMAZING!). For dinner though, the food is tasty, but it is VERY small portions. 4-5oz is the average for the entrees. I left hungry after spending a lot - I had to order room service afterwards. Consider yourself warmed! Otherwise, this place is wonderful and I would absolutely come back!
We’ve been coming here for years with friends. It’s become a really nice tradition for all of us to do every year after Thanksgiving with our family’s. Because of our continued patronage I have noticed more and more repetitive things over the years. Like how the bathroom trash cans always have a bunch of gunk in the and how the grout is always pretty dirty near the corner and tub of almost every room. Other wise there is really nothing to complain about the rooms. I love the natural lighting from the windows and the ice box. We always thoroughly enjoy the down stairs coffee shop, tea time and outdoor hot springs. I also really enjoy the indoor pool and always go late night swimming with my best friend. Im so happy that y’all have redone the pool, the original state it was in always made us think it was going to collapse on us. 😂 One suggestion I would make for the gym though, PLEASE do something about the window looking directly out to the pool. I get it’s supposed to be a nice view for people, but all it does is give people in the gym (usually men) to see people swimming. An example of this being: Me and my best friend went swimming and there was a guy on the treadmill the entire time we were swimming. (About 20-30 minutes) Note that he also only got off about 5 mins after we left. I noticed because we hung out in the waiting room for our other family. Kinda creepy, please do something about that. Other than that minor inconvenience I love everything about this hotel! Highly recommend because in the winter time it usually snows. Wonderful ice skating rink as well! I also absolutely love the effort they put into adding all these beautiful, different color Christmas trees around the entire hotel around Christmas time. Highly appreciate the effort guys!

Great course with wonderful scenery. Interesting elevation changes, but mostly in the valley. Super friendly staff and the greens were super fast (11-12 speed).
I had a truly first-class experience playing the Cascades course. From the moment I arrived the staff was welcoming, attentive, and friendly, setting the tone for a great round. The course was in outstanding condition. Beautifully maintained fairways, smooth/fast greens, and stunning scenery throughout. The layout was fun and challenging, with just the right mix of holes to keep things interesting. I can easily see why this course is rated so highly. I was able to enjoy 18 holes in just 2 hours and 30 minutes during the afternoon. Highly recommend!
Sam Snead helped design and build this masterpiece and while it is a very frustrating track it will awe you with it's seamless interaction with the mountain landscape. Top 25 and one of the best mountain courses around! Great caddy's and you will need them to read very tricky putts!
Don't pay the price they want. DON'T PAY IT!!! Even if you're a Sam Snead fanatic this course, with it's history is worth around $100. Fairways and greens were in mostly great condition. A few bad spots on 3 greens. Layout is great. First 9 holes are more mountain style. Last 9 is more links style. I found Cascades much easier then Old Course becasue of the openness on the last 9. Only the first 9 have tee markers. I didn't see that you have to make a u turn at the halfway house becasue there were zero routing signs or tee markers. I had to drive to the valley area and drive backwards to find 10 tee and it was literally 20 feet from where I started, just behind me. Wanted to shower afterwards, no hot water. They did have towels, which was good. The toilets did have just enough left on the roll for me, good for me but not for next guy. Staff was great Shuttle driver was great. From.the second I arrived at old course pro shop needing a shuttle until I got back to resort after the round I couldn't ask for better staff. Pace of play is no problem becasue they charge so much nobody plays here. When I got to hole 12 there was only myself in sight.
A truly 5-star experience at the Cascades course. Conditions were impeccable, staff was friendly, weather was gorgeous and the track itself was first class.
With plenty to do here, golf still seems to be the main attraction, and rightfully so. The Homestead is home to two high-caliber golf courses: The Old Course and The Cascades. Collectively, both courses have been around for over 200 years, yet have stood the test of time. Names such as Donald Ross, Robert Trent Jones, William Flynn, and Rees Jones have built and rebuilt them. They have been updated and restored over the years including lengthening and adapting to keep up with changes in golf equipment technology. One of the most famous golfers to ever play on the PGA Tour, Sam Snead, lived in or near Hot Springs for his entire life, and for several decades was the Homestead's golf pro. The Sam Snead Tavern – adjacent to The Homestead – contains memorabilia from his career. Rumor has it that Sneed landed the head pro job after he gave one of the member’s wives a lesson and she told the owners it was the best golf lesson she had ever had. He was offered the job the next day! Thanks to the routing skills of William Flynn, the Cascades is annually ranked as one of the top courses in the country. Because of the routing, a full variety of shot-making is required, and Flynn’s courses will test a player’s accuracy, carry, and length. The Cascades is a unique layout for a couple of reasons. First, there are no houses on the course. Second, a mountain stream winds its way throughout the layout, bringing water into play on a few holes. Third, the course finishes 3-5-5-3. Enough said! Course knowledge goes a long way in scoring well on the Cascades too. For example, golfers with course knowledge of The Cascades know that on the 274-yard par 4 3rd hole, the club to hit off the tee is NOT driver! Those of us with little or no course knowledge will try and force a driver between the trees on either side of the fairway. The green is perched upon a shelf, hence the name “Shelf.” Any approach shot that does not make it up the hill onto the putting surface may well roll back down. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing golf getaway with your spouse, or you’re the person in charge of planning golf trips, there are several reasons to consider The Omni Homestead Resort. First, obviously, is the tremendous golf courses and the opportunity to play on courses that have hosted a number of professional and national tournaments and championships. It’s not often you’ll find two courses of this caliber that both end with a par 3! Best of all, you don’t have to be an elite golfer to enjoy the courses. And, when things aren’t going well on the course, just look around and take in everything you see. I played in the spring and with tall trees everywhere, I can only imagine how beautiful it is in the fall. Secondly, there is a lot more to a “golf vacation” these days than golf. The Homestead has so much more to offer such as a refreshing bath in the mineral springs and the opportunity to shoot clays at the home of the 1992 U.S. Open Sporting Clays Championship. Or take an electric mountain bike ride around the property. And we haven’t even mentioned the dining opportunities at the resort which are numerous. Most importantly are the people at the Omni Homestead Resort. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and will treat you better than the golf courses will!
Best and most beautiful course in the state.
This is a beautiful, historic course, and the folks here are very nice. It's also the most OVER-PRICED course I've ever played...at $320...yes, $320 (on a Friday). When the guy in the shop rang me up I actually thought it must be for two rounds. It's a $125 course. It's a shame that the resort has jacked up the price on this mountain gem so that very few people can afford to play it.

Amazing course and worth the greens fees. The views were amazing the lies not so much hahaha. This course was very challenging. I played 27 holes here over our vacation. The staff was awesome. They took care of my clubs from the time I arrived until I checked out. You need to give this course a play!
Pleasure teeing off at Americas oldest tee in continous use. Amazing views from every hole, with the mountains in the backdrop and view of the Old Himstead. The 6 par 3s, par 4s and par 5s are a nice touch. Stop by the pro shop and say hello to the GM Mark, and the rest of the team.
Great course, very mountainous, excellent greens!
This is a great, fun course. Very enjoyable!!!
One of the most peaceful places 🥰. It has alot of fun and energetic activities, we tried the zip line, shooting and kayaking and all of them were good. The pool is clean and they have kids area. I am giving 4 stars though, Because some of the furniture was not very clean and because it became more expensive.
The course was in good shape with the greens being challenging. My only suggestion would be to add on a set of executive tees for women especially. We had 2 groups in front of us that contained women that struggled with the yardage from the womens tees.
Exactly what you'd expect at a resort mountain course. Small greens, thick rough and everything in near manicured condition. Excellent staff. Great golf carts. I'm not a morning person but came on a 25th anniversary trip with the wife so I teed off first player so I could be back by the time she decided to get out of bed. I dont know how to and dont like playing in morning dew and the constant swarm of knots but for other golfers I'm sure they love it. A couple great views of the resort. The ups and downs weren't extremely challenging but just enough to make your club choice important. Greens are PGA quality, just small. As in 25 yards total kind of size. Fairways maintained very well as well as cart path. The rough is kept but it was about 6 inches thick. Fairways are an average of 40 yards wide. The challenge here is small greens, thin Fairways and thick rough. You'd think more highs and lows but that's not the challenge here. Worth about $85 being a resort. Don't pay the $200+ rack rate. Get the pga stay n play resort pricing.
Worst place I’ve visited very rude. Hold golf districts for the children and parents/grandparents can’t rent carts when asked golf house was very rude and unprofessional save your money this place is a joke! 10/10 would rather go to cascades down the road where they are welcoming and will accommodate the elderly instead of making them walk 10 miles+

We’ve been to GarthNewel many times, usually over Thanksgiving and Memorial weekend. It’s a five hour drive each way, but well worth the time and effort. The music is exceptionally fine. From the resident quartet to the guest artists, everyone is very talented, professionals and approachable. We’ve made many friends over the years, all folks who appreciate chamber music. As if that weren’t enough, being warmly welcomed by the director, staff and board members makes us feel at home in this lovely mountain retreat. And to top it off, the executive chef and his team prepare world class dinners after many of the concerts. The meals are creative and delicious. Dining gives us a chance to enjoy excellent dinners, and get to meet and know other guests and musicians. Garth Newel is our favorite home away from home.
My son participates in the Alleghany Mountain String Project, playing the cello. A program offered to locals. The music center is such an amazing place to see! If you find yourself in Bath County and are looking for a unique experience, check this place out!
I went to a Girl Scout camp called Camp Garth Newell in the 50s. Did this used to be that camp. I have never forgotten my experiences there in the two years I went. I'm 80 now and still think about it. It was beautiful then as well.
The ideal venue to experience a variety of musical genres in the rural Allegheny mountains of Virginia. Many of the concerts include well prepared and presented gourmet dinners. A must visit, especially for classical music fans.
The scenery is breathtaking the music is amazing the staff is wonderful I would totally visit again
What a jewel in our midst!! Chamber music in a beautiful setting, along with a delicious meal following. An incredibly talented piano quintet with a standing ovation performance. The musical selections were filled with emotional reactions that were moving in their effect and thoroughly enjoyable. Your seat awaits.
Just a great Venue , 5 stars across the board ty ty ty ,highly recommend coming here for a performance!!
The Garth Newel Music Center is a unique destination for chamber music lovers nestled in the beautiful Allegheny Mountain foothills. Its bucolic 114-acre campus is located in Hot Springs, Virginia, just three miles down the road from the famous Omni Homestead resort. As a non-profit organization established 50 years ago, the Center welcomes guests year-round. A resident professional strings-and-piano quartet performs over 50 concerts each year in Herter Hall, a converted riding arena. After each concert, guests sit down with the musicians to enjoy a multi-course gourmet dinner prepared by the resident chef. Overnight accommodations are available at Garth Newel’s historic Manor House or at the many nearby inns and B&Bs. My husband and I discovered this hidden gem in 2015 and have returned every year since. Translated from Welsh, “Garth Newel” means “new home.” Experience the joy of a concert and dinner in this exquisite setting, and you will find (as we have) that Garth Newel is your new musical home.

Debra has many years of experience being a masseuse, including at the Homestead and at Greenbrier, and it became obvious during her massages. We were recommended her by the owners of our accommodations, and she did not disappoint. Prices were substantially better than the Homestead spa (less than half), so it’s a no brainer, really. We really enjoyed our time with Debra, and left rejuvenated and relaxed.
My boyfriend and I both got 2 hour massages, and they were wonderful. Debra was very accommodating and so friendly -she got us in on short notice as we were traveling to Warms Springs on a short trip. We would definitely recommend Stone Mountain Massage to anyone in the area looking for a wonderful massage experience. Next time we are in the area we will absolutely be back. Thanks again!
I would recommend Deborah for anyone who is looking to get a relaxing and restorative massage that is affordable. She is professional, kind, and gave us recommendations/tips about the area. It was a very good experience!
This was my very first massage and it was more than wonderful loved it fealt great i will return soon. The people that work there are very sweet as well.
Amazing. The massage was wonderful and the atmosphere was so friendly. I definitely recommend on your visit.

I love the sound of the flowing River🫶🏽 The Jackson River is a major tributary of the James River in the U.S. state of Virginia, flowing 96.4 miles (155.1 km).[3] The James River is formed by the confluence of the Jackson River and the Cowpasture River.
My wife and I kayaked on the Jackson and had an absolutely wonderful time. There were numerous shallow areas on our run, but the water is very clear and in most areas flows at a good clip. We can't wait to run it again.
Great place to get all your Outdoor Fall Decorations they have a variety of pumpkins, and mums and many more fall items to choose from. They also recently started selling deer corn, livestock feed and dog feed. Reasonable prices and friendly customer service.

So many lovely items made by local artisans. You can find something for pretty much anyone here! The staff are very friendly as well.
I love everything I have purchased at this shop and get home to Florida wishing I had purchased more of the things I was drawn to. The art is so lovely in my home and the staff is so friendly.
