We had such a wonderful experience! The crew was great, the boat is clean, the breakfast and lunch that was provided was good, and of course we had an amazing time at the snorkel spots! Including the history of Hawaii at each spot was not something I expected either. Would definitely recommend!
We enjoyed this morning snorkeling trip very much. The catamaran is nice (and it really does have the nicest bathrooms we've ever seen on a boat) and the crew is amazing. They're friendly, constantly offering food and drinks, and make sure everyone is well taken care of. They have everything you need for the trip, down to the reef safe sunscreen and hand sanitizer. The continental breakfast and coffee is nice in the morning, and we enjoyed the sandwich lunch after a couple of 45 minute snorkeling sessions. The snorkeling equipment is good and didn't leak like many do. The entire sail over and back is very pleasant. The snorkeling spots are fine, not the best we've seen, but had some decent fish. The drop off at Kealakekua Bay is cool to see. Overall, great experience well worth a morning.
Unbelievable and almost a once in a lifetime experience, worth it in every way. Don't miss out on this great time if you're given the chance. Water temperature is perfect and so clean with great visibility. Rays like crazy, were about 5 of them giving us quite a show. We rented the GoPro from them for like $40, get the micro SD card and a regular SD card adapter. Recommended. So no under water pics unfortunately as I do as many reviews as I can when I can from my phone. Leaving it up to you to come and experience this most excellent time! Staff were super friendly and informative also, snacks at the bar were great to have after the workout of holding a metal railing with one hand and a GoPro in another while the water rocks you round. Wasn't to bad though and switching arms helps as you are in the water for about 45 minutes.
We just got off the morning snorkeling trip and we had an amazing time. The entire crew was polite, professional and helpful in every way. They really made the trip fun and enjoyable. The boat was clean and well maintained with the cleanest bathrooms you will see on a charter boat. They had good snorkeling gear and the crew is right there ready to help you in any way you needed it to make sure you had a fun safe experience. Both the breakfast and lunch meals that come with the trip were delicious and beyond what I was expecting. The bartender can make some good drinks 🍹 for the ride home when the snorkeling is done. One thing I did notice that Sea Paradise was doing that other boats around us weren’t doing. Sea Paradise puts crew members on paddle boards as lifeguards in the areas that you are swimming. That’s a big plus for safe in my eyes and I appreciate that. Thank you again for the great time and great memories.
The night snorkeling with mantas is amazing and the morning snorkeling at the Captain Cook Monument is beautiful. I am most impressed by the patience and caring of the staff. They were incredibly kind to my senior mother and a huge help with her limited mobility. Would definitely recommend to anyone that wants to spend some time in the water! Thank you crew!!
Last minute morning snorkel booking on my solo birthday trip. Great crew! Really friendly, efficient & worked hard. Nice to have morning snack, lunch & beverage on the way back. Really relaxing & fun. Nice medium size boat, not too many people with shade & large bathrooms. Had a great time!
Genuinely, the best part of our Hawaii trip! We did morning snorkeling and the night manta ray trip. Unforgettable... The staff was so helpful, kind, and gave us over the top service. The most beautiful swim, truly once in a lifetime. 🩵
Absolutely amazing crew! We did the manta ray night dive and it was absolutely stunning! The water is very rough and getting in and out of the water can be very intimidating but the crew made us feel so comfortable and safe! Also a plus that the boat ride is so close to the dive sight!

My friend and I had a truly awesome time! She uses a wheelchair, but from the very start, was made to feel so comfortable and just one of the crew. It was truly an unforgettable experience, from rowing out, to stopping to watch a pod of dolphins, to swimming. Thank you Anelakai for an unforgettable time! We hope to take the manta ray trip next time
My LIFE has changed (in a good way). Coming from Colorado, my husband and I need some sort of adventure not handed to us so this was perfect. Small group size, you have to work as a team to get out to the spot, and the guides are incredible! Being on an outrigger canoe was a treat, but seeing the mantas was EVEN MORE. We counted seeing over 10, and I got blessed by this giant MANta (get it, a boy manta ray haha) spinning literally 2 inches from my face and eventually tapping me TWICE. Going through IVF currently, so I'll take it as a spiritual blessing. Seriously though, it was an incredible experience. The mantas know what theyre doing, they're massive, graceful, and the coolest thing. And the monk seal stopping by the canoe was sick too! BOOK IT BOOK IT BOOK IT. We want to book it again. It was incredible.
THE BEST!!! I did the night manta tour. It was so fun, and rowing was actually easier than i remembered! Did this my first day when I got to the island and it was probably the highlight of my trip! Mahalo!!
Amazing from start to finish!! We loved our guides and hearing Anelakai is the daughter and namesake! Paddling out into the dark night was so special and as soon as the lights came on, the manta rays appeared 💞 being in the water with them, witnessing their grace and beauty so closeup was an experience of a lifetime. Our guides kuleana and love for the ocean and environment was shared with us, mahalo nui for the experience and all you do!!
Under a beautiful moon in a moody sky, on an almost unnaturally warm night, we paddled out to meet the rays. Unlike the big motored boats, this 20 minute paddle was meditative and ancestral, providing the perfect tempo to drop into the night water and meet the rays. The experience was other worldly. The rays were elegant charcoal dancers, gliding mere centimeters from you as you float. You enter their world. The guides were wonderful- informed, funny and safe. They also provided a considerate ecosystem for the rays- no motors, 6 guests max and a more subdued interaction with these beautiful fish than the louder bigger boats nearby. Highly recommend this outfit. Traveled with two 80 year olds who jumped in and a teenager who stayed in the canoe, and everyone, from all perspectives thought it was an absolute WOW experience.
This was an amazing experience. Zal and the other crew member did a fantastic job explaining everything. The rowing was fun, especially back to the dock at the end when it was dark on the water and the hotel lights were glittering! The mantas were incredible and SO CLOSE. Getting in and out of the outrigger was NOT an issue at all. Very comfortable. I highly recommend this tour! FANTASTIC!
We had an amazing time on our manta tour. We had been on the wait list and thankful a spot opened up. It was fun rowing out on the traditional canoe and being such a smaller tour than the giant groups we saw loading up on other boats. We saw tons of mantas and our crew was very fun and knowledgeable. We also brought our 4.5 year old and the crew was great with her making sure she was comfortable. We all had an incredible time we won’t forget!
My daughters and I had an amazing time, the Military discount offered by calling was appreciated. All the years I lived in Hawaii growing up or coming back to visit this was first Manta Snorkle. Don’t think I could do it different, loved the short canoe experience and we were blessed with about 12 manta rays and peaceful waters. Staff guides excellent, the small boat experience fantastic! This was a bucket list request, cancelled a year ago due to rough seas, must have been meant to be!! Please support this small business!

Small beach & reef with generally calm water, making it a popular place to snorkel.
Slide 1 of 8
05/01/2025 (Thu) Kahaluʻu Beach Park is a fantastic spot for snorkeling and relaxing by the sea. The water near the shore is shallow and calm, making it perfect for beginners. There are vibrant coral reefs close to the shore, which attract a wide variety of tropical fish. I even had an unforgettable moment when I was snorkeling just a few meters from the beach, surrounded by people standing in the shallow water — and a sea turtle swam right beneath me! I was so surprised to see one that close to the shore and near so many people. I saw many colorful fish, and the whole experience was incredibly fun. The beach is well-equipped with rest areas, restrooms, showers, and lifeguards. What made the visit even more special was the presence of the Reef Teachers — a group of friendly and knowledgeable volunteers who help educate visitors and protect the reef. Several of them were incredibly kind to me — one sprayed anti-fog solution on my snorkeling mask, others showed me how to keep the lenses clear, and even pointed out where I might see sea turtles. Their presence made the experience feel safe, welcoming, and enriching. There’s also plenty of shade to relax under, making it a very comfortable place to spend the day. The free parking lot is fairly large, but it’s best to arrive early to get a spot. This beach truly offers a beautiful mix of nature, marine life, and aloha spirit.
The snorkeling is good here! Sea turtles and more… I also love the fact that there’s benches here to sit and chill in the shade. That’s so convenient, as well as bathrooms and showers to rinse off. Very convenient, and also an easy snorkeling place for beginners, although it’s just a little difficult to get in and out of the water unless you find a right path. Because the reef/stone is literally right there, at least if you go at high tide. I’m sure it’s easier at low tide.
We visited in 2019 and it was our favorite vacation as a family. This was the first beach we visited. There were turtles swimming around and it was beautiful. Easy access from your car. Kid friendly. Somewhat safe, Watch your kids as you are walking around.
Amazing snorkeling! While the water is pretty shallow (much more shallow than 2-step), the variety and quantity of different reef fish here is insane. If you swim out far enough. There is also a lot of beautiful soft coral to look at. Since this spot is shallow and the sea is pretty calm, it would probably be a good place to learn the ropes of snorkeling if you already have a good foundation on how to swim. One caveat is that the entrance into the water is pretty rocky and can be slippery in spots, so it's best to be careful. I didn't find the need to wear water shoes, but if you don't want to walk over lava rock to get into the ocean shoes might be a good option. Parking is also $12 with a 4 hour minimum, but parking on the street is easy.
A well-lit parking area was followed by an exceptional snorkeling experience, where we were fortunate to encounter a vibrant array of colorful fish. The shallow depth of the water made it ideal for children to enjoy. While snorkeling, it is essential to remain vigilant and secure your belongings from potential walkers. The restroom facilities were satisfactory, and the road leading to the spot was conveniently accessible. Additionally, it offers a prime location for witnessing a breathtaking sunset.
Is one of the easiest and most accessible snorkeling beaches for beginners. The corals are mostly dead but the fish are still around; maybe not as many and varied as in years past. Parking was free but now there is a $12 charge for 4 hours. Outside parking or street parking is free. It can get crowded if you come in after 11 am. There is a beginner’s wave break for surfers. A snorkel and surf board rental shop is across the street.
If you love free snorkeling or beginner snorkeling right here is you can learn. Rock underwater and and not much fish you can see. Better go to two step. If you love to see reef and colorful fish
Kahaluu Beach is one of the most accessible beaches from downtown Kona and is the best spot for snorkeling. You can see many fish and enjoy snorkeling relatively safely. However, because there are many sharp rocks, it’s important to wear aqua shoes and use proper safety gear. There is parking available on-site for convenience, restrooms are accessible, and there are plenty of picnic tables, making it a great place to enjoy a packed lunch and relax. It’s an excellent spot for families to visit.

We parked on the otherside of the street and went to a restaurant there . Market was closed after we ate . Zoom in on the person in black ! It freaked me out . Looking my way . We just watched the movie Lady in the front yard . The food selections were$18.00 -$24.00
If you are feeling adventurous, go over here. Try all the new tropical fruits they are so delicious! Very friendly and informative vendors. We got a cacao pod, made sapote, straw berry papaya, mangosteen, young coconut, and a giant juicy kona grown mango.
Everything is local produce and made by locals! The air is incredible up there. Children can play and see the farm animals. Views of Ocean View are fabulous. The bread and cakes are a must to try! It is pricey but its worth it for the excellent quality and selection, from local meats, eggs and fish to fruit and veg.
This farmers marker opens every Saturday. Many local farmers bring their products with good condition and reasonable price. Famers market is one of good places you may want to visit for your visiting in Hawaii because you could experience their lives and also gain good products with good price. This market is one of them. There will be enough parking spots, and the size of the market is not that big. Probably you will stay for about one hour to visit each store on the market.
Was here this past Saturday, and I enjoy Farmers markets. Bought some exotic fruits and some baked goods! And had something to eat there also!
Nice produce and craft market currently only Sat mornings in the shopping center parking lot. We particular enjoyed the baked dessert treats. Because we got there late, we did miss out on several sold out items. Guess we needed to be earlier birds…
Smaller than Kona Farmer's market, but it was fresher. They had a nice variety of fruit. One vendor had some vegetables; the lacinato kale looked good. We purchased some starfruit, avocado, apple- banana and some fresh farmed shrimp. They also had prepared food, coffee, teas, and kombucha for purchase and sampling. One vendor had some Lulo juice to sample. It was delicious! Too bad this farmer's market is only on Saturdays!
Great place to get fresh, locally grown fruits and veggies, plus jams and many other things. Come early to get the best of fruits.

Movie theater
Fun & Games
Theater complex with multiple screens featuring new release films, plush seating & concession stand.
Slide 1 of 8
We came here to see Tron: Ares and had a good experience. The theater sound system was excellent, crisp and immersive, and the seats were super comfortable and relaxing. The concession stand staff were friendly and helpful. As for the movie itself, it was fantastic! The soundtrack, visuals, and action were all top-notch. We’ll definitely be coming back.
Bought tickets online in advance, once we arrived it was a little confusing where to go to scan QR code/tickets. Popcorn was buttery and big portions. Theater seats are VERY uncomfortable, small, barely any room to stretch your legs, DOESN'T recline, armrests don't go up. Picture and sound quality were pretty good.
Update: I am updating my review as the GM called me and was amazing! She explained that there was a miscommunication (the other manager went to address the situation in the theater), the man that was yelling was removed and she issued a refund for our movie. We are visiting the island and have a flight out tonight. We decided to go to a movie to waste some time before our flight. There was a man yelling in our theater and threatening. We decided to leave as we didn’t feel safe. We notified the manager who at first just looked at us and then said sorry. We asked about a refund as the movie had just started but were denied. No offer of another movie or coupons, we have reached out for a refund from Regal on the app. Wouldn’t recommend going there.
Great deals on tuesdays download the app. Great break from a really hot afternoon or perfect for a rainy day. Small town movie theater vibe, nice staff and good air conditioning. Happy to watch movies here !
Went to the theatre to watch a movie. About 20 minutes in a vagrant started screaming at the screen and threatening my wife and I and other patreons. Stating he "wanted to kill someone" we left immediately. when we told management about it they said sorry and refused to give us a refund or even a pass to see a different movie. Changed to 3 star because they did give a refund AFTER we left a negative review and contacted their corporate office
Older theatre, uncomfortable seating. Way overpriced for the lack of luxury in the theatre. Overpriced for drinks, popcorn, and candy. My suggestion would be to lower the prices at this substandard theatre or do the right thing and remodel. Better seating would make up for the price.
Staff was super friendly and nice. Although a packed night, staff assisted us as soon as we walked in. Scanned my online ticket and even offered to take our family picture for us. Great service.
Friendly staff, fast service, comfortable seats, clean theaters, restrooms, etc. didn’t see any flaws in this theater! I would definitely recommend it and I’d love to come back Edit: I also really liked that there wasn’t assigned seating, sometimes that can just create problems that don’t even need to be there

Fantastic working with Captain Brett and Davey. Super quality guys to hang with. Not to mention, worked like a dog to find and get on fish. I was able to bring in one blue marlin, so it was great to see one of these elusive creatures next to the boat. Great at educating and informing their clients, and answering any questions you might have. Sunrise over the volcanoes were amazing, as well.
Magical. We caught fish. Took naps. Ate and drank. Viewed the scenic coastline. Felt cared for by top-notch crew. Highly recommend. 5 stars.
Amazing charter! I read hundreds of reviews before choosing Humdinger. Im glad I did my research, these guys are awesome. We caught some fish and had a great experience. They never stopped working to get us on fish. The boat is spotless clean and very well kept. They took care of our fish putting them directly on ice, then filleted everything and packaged it for us. From my research, this is one of the only boats that lets you keep your entire catch if you want. Overall a great experience!
This was definitely the fishing charter of lifetime. Captain Bret and Noah were on the boat and were amazing. We had the best time. They are professional fishermen and did a wonderful job
Great time aboard the Humdinger Sportfishing Charter with Captain Brett and deckhand Noah!! The atmosphere on the boat was professional, respectful and no time was wasted! The boat was extremely clean and well maintained. My husband was able to reel in this Shortbill Spearfish thanks to Captain Brett and Noah!!
An unforgettable experience. It was our first time deep sea fishing. We booked the 6hr tour. Captain Brett Fay (son of Jeff Fay) and Ryan are experts - they know the waters very well and will do everything they can to get you fish. We didn’t get much action in the first 4 hours (but neither were the other charter boats) and then caught a barracuda which is apparently bad luck. For us it turned out to be good luck though because we caught two spearfishes - the rarest species in Hawaii. Make sure you’re not wearing nice clothes for this - When you catch fish there is plenty of blood. Wearing a bathing suit is a good idea. A long sleeve shirt pale in color like Brett and Ryan were wearing is a good idea. Bring sunscreen. They have coolers with ice and a toilet on the boat. They had really interesting stories and it was interesting to learn about deep sea fishing tournaments. Thank you for the great experience, we’ll be back with Émilie’s dad next time!
Had a fantastic time with my family. Brought my Wife with my 2 kids 8 and 11. The Captain and Mate were great with them and the kids loved it. The boat is comfortable and very well maintained. As an avid fisherman you could really tell that these guys knew what they were doing; especially when we got into the fish, rapid fire catching!!! I will definitely book with these guys again.
Brett and JJ were so fun to go out fishing with. We went and caught bait and then they put us on the fish! These guys are professionals and provide a great day on the water, my kids and I had an absolute blast. Thanks a lot guys, tight lines!
