Classic ancient well with some interesting ecology within it - no fish, but a swarm of leech! The trail going up to the well, as well down to the lowest levels is pretty good. There are a lot of steps, but it’s a fun activity with kids with some adult help. The views from different points of the trail leading to the lower parts of the well are very pretty. There are are also spots where one can see how the ancient cave dwellers lived around the well - very similar to what you see at Walnut Canyon and Montezuma Castle. Highly recommend visiting this place, which is a short drive from Montezuma Castle.
Such a great walk up and around the rim with an option to go down to the drainage line. Free to get in. Took about 45 minutes to walk the entire loop. It was hot as it’s summer and there is no shade but taking an umbrella helps. A definite stop for an educational experience for all ages.
This was such a fun little stop. Absolutely loved it. Kid friendly, just a short hike and you can see the ruins. Definitely a nice alternative if you don’t want to pay for Montezuma Castle and it’s completely free!
Nice to see and read history! A few parts closed off - understand for the bats but lower area by the river closed for “poison ivy” I know it well and there is none there - I understand you’re just trying to keep people away, but it loses its effectiveness when you lie to people - like your stay on the trail signs and then showing a snake as if you take a foot off the trail and you get bit by a snake 💁
A beautiful cenote with especially kind rangers! When we drove up, a ranger met us outside the small station to explain the history of the “well” and how to navigate the short trail. Seeing a beautiful body of water like this in the middle of the desert was incongruous in the best way. Highly recommend spending 30-45 minutes to explore this little marvel!
I love going here! There was unfortunately some restrictions this visit due to wildlife, but I'm so glad the park prioritizes the species that need this location. I love getting to see the preserved historical sites and read about them. I'm very glad these have not been sold off to private owners, and that active preservation is ongoing. I know Montezuma's castle is much more advertised, but this is absolutely the star of the show. The concrete walkways and sidewalk trails make this a very accessible park. The shaded bottom is such a nice place to spend a minute resting and listening to the river. Best advice, go early. You will miss more of the traffic from Phoenix and you will see more wildlife.
A great place to see history. Take the path past the restroom and down the steps to cool your feet. P.S. Google will take you down a long dirt road (coming from Sedona). Take the main road a few more miles for paved road.
This was honestly better than the castle. Awesome walking paths, tons of lizards, saw an iguana, and the walk path down to the water was great. Really enjoyed this site a lot! Lots of stairs fyi.

This place is extraordinary. The staff are lovely and truly dedicated to sharing any knowledge they have about the sacred lands. Parking is easy. The short trail is very manageable. We went with a larger group and Mr Don did a fantastic job with his presentation. The amount, closeness and clarity of the petroglyphs was impressive. We will definitely be back.
We are so glad we made the trip. Was a really wonderful experience, and Tim, the Park Host, was kind, knowledgeable, passionate, and a joy to meet! Note the hours it's open because it's usually only mornings because of the heat and we ready for about a half mile walk from parking to get to the site.
The friendliness of the staff, Anne Tatarsky and Tim Rimmer, cannot be overstated. They were cheerful, helpful, professional, and knowledgeable, though special kudos goes to volunteer Audie Brinkmeier, whose passion and excitement in describing the petroglyph symbols and meanings was extraordinary. The trip north from the Valley (Phoenix metro area) was worth it just to learn more about the Southern Sinagua who left their marks on the gorgeous stone wall. The fee is a bargain at only $5 per vehicle and the brief walk to the visitor center to check in is where your journey begins. Then there is a wide, dirt path (wheelchair accessible with a little help) that takes you on a short (.4 mile) walk that's mostly unshaded to the completely shaded petroglyph wall. The site is not open when it's 100°F, so be sure to double check the timing of your visit there. We arrived yesterday (a Sunday in early July) at ~9am and it was already quite warm out. Also, be sure to watch for the signs instead of completely relying on GPS or you'll end up passing the entrance once you've made the turnoff into the property.
One of the most interesting hidden gems! Get ready to nerd out a little. We went on that rare overcast day and some of the petroglyphs were even more visible in the lower light. These have been here for an incredible amount of time and look like they were made last week. The stories told by the guide were engaging and invited you to interpret the drawings yourself. Quick stop (a little over an hour in and back with most of our time spent staring in awe), but made such an impression!
I went in mid-May, when the weather was nice. This place is absolutely amazing and so rich with history. There are so many places to explore. The next time I go, I'll definitely spend more time here.
Love this Sight - a must see, check out my Instagram & TikTok for videos of this location 🌀
This is an absolutely amazing site for petroglyphs! Easy and short walk from parking area. No pets are allowed. Jim (aka Henry Winkler) was so knowledgeable that I came away from the site much more wiser. He even played a Native American style flute for us (video attached). If you want to get away from the crowds in Sedona, this is a great place to go!
We had a lot of fun here. The visitor center had one page junior rangers and 2 little lizards running around. The tour guide talked for one hour or more but it was very nice to hear from him. This place is a must!

I don't want to give away too many details but the pictures tell their own story. If you find this place, make an appointment and go. You will not be disappointed. Healing Wolf has so many incredible stories to tell.
Xavier and Cynthia provided us with deep knowledge of the land, the natives, and their wolves. The energy this place held was incredibly healing. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable experience while here in AZ. We will definitely be coming back!
We were there about 7 years ago. I’ve been a Private Pilot, I’ve made parachute jumps. I’ve been SCUBA diving in caves, and under Ice, and more. All fun, but my Wolf encounter here is still in my top 3 fun experiences. For ANYONE who would like to get to know these magnificent creatures, I would unhesitatingly recommend this Wolf Sanctuary!!!
I had a great experience with the wolves and I’ll definitely come back! It was so awesome to get to spend time with my favorite animal and it was really cool to learn about the sanctuary
Our family has supported in gone to and aided the Wolf sanctuary for close to 10 years. Healing Wolf is my Sister friend they really do wonderful things for the wolves. Recently as of this last week they received a new Wolf rescue, and they also are need of physical assistance with the closures. If anyone local can help that would be great. there is parking available and wheelchair accessibility. yes there is a bathroom available To my knowledge it is cash donations for the maintenance and upkeep for the wolves.
We LOVED meeting the wolves! We went to the Sedona Wolf Sanctuary and had an incredible experience getting up close and personal with wolves. So personal, in fact, that like dogs they gave licks and kisses and loved being hugged...but they were far from domesticated dogs! We could feel the love that Cynthia and Xavier feel for these wolves. We felt safe and secure as Cynthia or Xavier was always with us - so we weren't thrown to the wolves! haha! They had gorgeous soulful eyes and faces - and huge feet! We loved the energy ritual before we approached the wolves and learning about this sacred Native American land with ancient medicine wheels and meditation huts still used by the descendants of the Sinaguan, Hopi and Navajo people. We saw Thor (the Timber Wolf) who was molting to get rid of his winter coat. He had such a calm soul and loved to be snuggled. Larka (the Great Plains Wolf) had even been groomed that day to remove matted fur. And Luna (the Grey Wolf) was still a baby - just 18 months old - so she was very playful. We could tell the animals were happy and well-cared for - and we adore the couple running the non-profit. We can't wait to bring clients, friends, and family to meet these gorgeous animals and learn about their sacred land. If you come to Sedona, definitely add the Sedona Wolf Sanctuary to your list of places to visit! It's well-worth is and you can know that you're helping to keep these gorgeous animals safe, happy and well.

My husband and I love this place. There's so much to see and prices are very reasonable. A DVD VCR combo was the first find that we purchased and the second time we were there, I found a beautiful wine colored antique vase. The owner, Jim is a down to Earth personable guy who likes to see people leaving his place being thrilled with their purchase. 👍👍👍
Stopped by on our way to Sedona from Phoenix. This place is one of a kind! Easily could have spent hours looking through vintage Native American jewelry, art, woven rugs and antique books. I picked a beautiful turquoise ring and earrings. Definitely recommend Jim’s as a side trip!
We have been going to Jim's Trading Post at least 8 or 9 years now, and only once in the nearly dozen times we've ventured up from the Phoenix area have we failed to find something interesting to purchase. I have purchased a signed Joe Beeler (Cowboy Artist of America)print, an exquisite Elk Nola tie with a huge turquoise stone, about a dozen fine Old West Histories and a Will Rogers biography, and some interesting odds and ends. This past Monday we took our close friends up there, and we're quite pleased when they not only purchased a few things, but also told us how much.they enjoyed going there and would be going back. Since they live closer they just might make it sooner. Add to all this is how very fair and reasonable the prices on most of Jim's Indian jewelry, antiques, books and prints are but that Jim is also a very friendly, very knowledgeable, very personable guy who will spend time with you and 100% totally customer service oriented .He is always very pleased when a customer not only finds that something special antique, Indian jewelry, art work or book they cannot live without and are very pleased with their find. Looking forward to our next visit up to Rimrock and Jim's.
Awesome stop on the way to Montezuma's Castle!! Place is unique in its own way and there is lots to look at. A great selection of antiques. The outside is certainly an attention getter!
If there is time in the day, this hidden gem is with it. A great variety of antiques and excellent customer service.
This place is awesome and Jim has an incredible collection to see and find something special that is old or collectable. Highly recommended!
Jim is great anytime I come across a piece of artwork or antique he's always upfront and honest about what I've got. Thank you Jim I will continue to return with my business
We stopped by this place app after going to see a Montezuma Castle and Montezuma well. It’s a quirky little place with tons of antiques and neat little finds. We spoke with the owner a little bit and he was super friendly. Well worth a stop.

Had the absolute best time here. My cousins, sister and myself went out to Rimrock to get these photos done for our aunt/grandmother. We had the best time. We were styled, accessorized and posed for an amazing photo of the four of us together. This is the first photo of all four of us together, looking at the camera. I highly recommend the drive, not only are the photos great, but Candy and her Creekside Cottage (antiques) is an absolutely adorable place to find hidden treasure. Candy was very friendly and helpful. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Go here for a visit, or for photos, you will not be disappointed! Thanks Candy!!!
Absolutely the best picture and experience with candy she was great!!! I’ve wanted to do this forever but more so after losing 60 lbs and on a trip with my new guy to the Grand Canyon did a lot of side trips this one was amazing definitely worth the side trip make an appointment you won’t be sorry
Google HOURS ARE NOT CORRECT. Photos are by appointment only. We drove over one hour out of the way, and they were closed. Called the number to find out the photos are only by appointment, and they’re only open thur-sat. **not a reflection of the actual photography**
This was so much fun!!! We had a great time with Candy. She picked great outfits for each of us and made the experience fun. She paid great attention to detail to produce some excellent pictures. The prices were reasonable as well. I would love to go again!
A great experience and the family had a blast. They were very friendly and knew what they were doing. We got in an out in around 30 minutes and that was with a decent size party. Pictures turned out great and definitely will be something we never forget. Highly recommended if you have a spare 30 minutes. It was fun and they give you your moneys worth for sure.
Step by this photo studio on our way to Phoenix. The lady has 1 hour gap between the appointments but she wasn't so nice to make a photo for our family. She said that that is her lunch time and it will take some time to open the studio. It stated that "walkins are wellcome" but that is not true. Disappointed.
Cool antique store owned by a husband and wife. If you want to do old west style photos I recommend giving them a call to see if she is available/make an appointment

A great place to spend a hot day. Some shallow places for the littles to wade around or toss rocks and also deeper places to swim. Lots of blackberries to pick if you go in late July. $12 entrance fee, bathrooms and picnic areas with grills.
We love this place! Great for my littles as it’s not a long trek back to the car. Very peaceful and beautiful!
For my micro fishers this is the place I saw some trout when I was walking but didn't have any luck so I switched to a micro crawdad and caught some nice bass. Cool thing is there are red eye, smallmouth and largemouth bass
This place is a must to have a day picnic! The red rock was beautiful, the water cool and the environment is green & serene.
It's such a beautiful summer spot. Perfect day trip to escape the summer heat !! $12 for parking, bring your food and drink, and chill it out. Kids absolutely love it !! See you guys there
It was a lot dirtier than my last visit in 2017. I guess it may be because we visited just after a busy holiday weekend this year, but it's still disappointing. Even so, I really love this place. Its so beautiful.
An Oasis in the desert! So beautiful! Absolutely amazing! Perfect destination for "water-babies". Not to be missed!!!
Great little creek to cool off this heat $12 dollar parking perfect plus walk to the creek from parking lot is about 1-2 minute’s

Great little shop with a variety of antiques and vintage items. Well worth a stop enroute to Montezuma's Castle.
What a fun place to visit! Even if you are not really interested in "antiques". This place is a piece of history and a unique location to visit. Stop by, bring the kids, see if they can figure out what some of the old artifacts were used for. MIND-BOGGELING! They also offer old time tin type photo opportunities. Google it!
A nice little antique store with friendly staff and fair prices.
Summer hours, closed Sunday- Wednesday. Open 11 to 5 the rest of the days, according to the sign on the door. Sorry we missed you!
What a wonderful and quaint shop! There is something there for everybody and you can even get a vintage portrait done! The shop owner is super sweet and fun, also very knowledgeable about the area. This is a great stop along your way to or from Flagstaff or anytime you may be on I17.
Beautiful antiques especially the vintage type writers, the owner really know her stuff! This shop certainly has a charm, theres even an affectionate shop cat! Will definitely be stopping in the future to take my time!
A quaint shop that is nicely laid out with a ton of this and that, some vintage, some antique with a little bit of everything for anyone. The owner, employee and the shop's special black cat whose name is appropriate, Whitie, are very pleasant. Also you can have an antique appearing photo taken of yourself or the whole gang.
Lots of cool antiques, and Candy seems to know a little bit of history about almost all of it! And check out Pistol and Petticoats next door for a great old time photo experience!

I visited Sedona with a friend and booked a trapeze yoga class and massage at Emerald Waves. The studio and people there have a family feel, and we felt so comfortable there. We had some scheduling conflicts and those were resolved so quickly for us, with the owner, Christine, opening up the studio to provide a last-minute personal trapeze class for us! It was very personalized and so much fun. We also had an incredible massage with Nichole of Sedona Body Works in the studio. Everyone we encountered was incredibly kind and knowledgable.
Healing Center at affordable price! Counseling, yoga, zumba, essential oils, and many other venues!!! Making alternative healing affordable. Clean, comfortable, smell good place to just drop in. Large retail selection at less than Sedona prices
Great selection of about anything you could want. Really great clothes, jewelry, everything you need. Plus great Yoga classes. Stop in Christine would love to see you.
Love Christine, the owner. Great products, great classes, enjoy the team spirit. Healing environment.
Had a great yoga class and tarot reading. You gotta stop in, Cheryl was very accurate.
Trying to find yoga class. Unable to locate a class or anyone to talk to.
Nice and clean. Lots of merchandise on shelves. Sometimes she has special items
