Great little hangout for live music, great cider and food. They have a quaint indoor space and nice outdoor area. Located about 15 minutes outside Iowa City in a country barn like setting. They have live music all year!
Such a fun place! Great ciders, nice people, fun entertainment. Beautiful setting!! Honey lavender cider is probably the greatest cider in the state of Iowa.
We were so happy to stumble onto this place! We had a cider sampler and they were all delicious! Our favorite was the blueberry. The food was just as amazing! Great service as well! They had live music, and that added so much to the already relaxing vibe of the place. The store was stocked with lots of organic food, and very cute decor items. We loved the board games that were available to take back to the table. We will definitely be back here many more times!
They have rejuvenated the barn and added more drink choices. Love the new options and the entertainment was classic, very enjoyable!
The cider and pull pork sandwich combo was incredibly delicious! The atmosphere was amazing and the outdoor seating was phenomenal. Can't forgot the karaoke on Thursdays, always a blast to be had especially with friends
Great vibe, friendly, fun staff! They have this really fun smoothie seltzer that is amazing. A definite purchase for brunches, wedding showers, or any time of day that you want a flavorful smooth drink!
Matt & Laurel gave a really great performance. The weather was really bad, so it was unfortunate that there were not very many people to hear them. The cider and food was excellent! Now that they are open Thursday - Sunday, and will be open into the Winter I hope more people come out.
Come a visit, Live music weekend nights and Friday, Karaoke on Thursday.... small town farm mill vibes, come and enjoy the essence Iowa. Would recommend. (Staff is in short supply, so bring your patience and a good aditude)

Our group of 7, ages ranging from 30 - 70, had a great time! It was challenging, and we didn't end up solving our room, but we felt so savvy and excited every time we completed a step! We look forward to going back.
Love this place. We've gone twice and enjoyed ourselves immensely both times. It's great for small groups. The scenarios are inventive and the puzzles are challenging. Highly recommend.
Had so much fun, first escape room for my family. We finished and now want to try some others. Great folks running this place, highly recommend it! Really enjoyed the theme and solving the puzzles. We finished with 44 seconds left of the one hour we had. It was challenging but we had a great time. Six of us did the challenge and all of us would do it again!
Very much worth the half hour drive. The rooms were difficult but felt entirely fair, and the puzzles were creative and very fun. Gameplay wise, it was as good as any Escape room I've been to. The decor and atmosphere are what made it the absolute best. The rooms had either a fantastic Cold War Era vibe, or a splendid luxury submarine look, which I didn't know was a look at all until I saw it here. Really really made a good game great. The attendant for our session was the owner operator who was professional, helpful, and very friendly, and was willing to help us reschedule at no additional charge when a snowstorm blocked our scheduled time. Our group of six was able to complete the Cold War Check-In room, and had lots of fun while still working for it.
This location is now " StART ", an Arts and Crafts Supply exchange. Prices and credit for incoming items are negotiable. A Fix-It café is located in the back to help you repair toys, small appliances, portable furniture, some electronics.
We took our daughter and 7 of her friends to try out The Fantastic Escape for her birthday. The girls had a blast!! We definitely got our money's worth. I highly recommend it if you want a fun, challenging experience.
Loved it! Was so much fun, me and my boyfriend went as a couple and it was still so much fun! We will be going again with a group! Something different to do in the area! Our Game Master was amazing and made the experience! My childhood dreams have come true! :)
We had such a great time at The Fantastic Escape! Even in these COVID times we felt safe knowing that we would not be mixed with anyone outside our group and that masks are required for everyone at all times. The availability of generous supplies of hand sanitizer and the cleaning of the rooms between each group was also reassuring. It is obvious that they care about making people feel comfortable and safe while having a good time.

Best nachos I've had for as long as I can remember. They even fry their own chips. It was also a massive plate of nachos! The staff was friendly and the place was really clean. I live an hour away from there, but would gladly make the trip just to stop by there again.
We've been here a few times. I like the food, kind of slow coming out when it didn't seem too busy. I ordered the chicken nachos this time and the chicken on them was very good. We've never had GOOD service here, just ok. Maybe it's because we're not regulars, idk. We sat with empty water glasses for the better part of our meal. Our server was at the bar talking with other patrons, which is great, but needs to remember to check on tables too. After our food came out, we never saw her again until we asked for boxes. I'm normally what I'd consider a "good tipper" when the service is there!
Bree was my server/bartender. She was awesome! I Had smothered chicken breast!!! It was amazing. I will definitely be back. Everyone was very helpful. Very chill atmosphere.
Popular hangout with a lot of diners on a Friday night. It took over 7 minutes for a server to come to our table to hand us the menus. And around 40 minutes of waiting for our 3 burgers, a salad and 2 corn dogs to arrive at our table from the time we put the orders in. That’s quite slow! Not sure if their kitchen understaffed or something. (Heard from locals that some restaurants have to close early at 3 because they can’t find people to work the shift. ) No explanation or apology from our server for our slow service. So I assumed it’s normal pace on a Friday night. I was gonna give 3 star review but I gave 4 for the sake of our relatives who took us there. And for sake for the excellent burgers they make. Super yummy, not because we were too hungry (after a long wait) but they really do their burgers well. Just right, not over cooked, or greasy. Great place to dine in Lisbon. Thank you! We got to eat and we were served with delicious meals.
Great customer service. Awesome food. Fantastic atmosphere. Good prices.
Food and service was great. The taco pizza is really good!
Broasted chicken here is the best I've had in so long!
This was a first time visit for me. I was with friends, 2 who had been here before so our selections were helped with their recommenddations. They are well known for their boasted chicken. I selected their Spicy Bacon Chicken Ranch sandwich, and it was really good. The spice level was mild. I also had their home-made chips with my meal. Our server was very pleasant, attentive and did a wonderful job taking care of is and making sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant was clean and very busy for a Wednesday evening! It is popular among many judging by the attendance. Overall a wonderful experience, Thank you!!
