Amazing experience! The tour guide was knowledgeable and passionate, sharing so much great information. The small group size made it personal and easy to ask questions. You can tell they truly care about the animals—highly recommend!
My daughter and I absolutely adored our visit here! We did the VIP encounter and had a once in a lifetime experience ❤️ From scheduling to our interaction with Isha and Orenda, our guides Phoebe and Ariel, our day was incredible! The wolves, coyotes and foxes were all so well cared for and happy. The grounds and pens were immaculate! We came in from Texas and will be back, hopefully over and over again! Please tell Isha and Orenda hello, we love them and give them lots of kisses from us! And again, THANK YOU for a beautiful visit!
Our experience here was absolutely incredible. The staff is passionate about what they do, the wolves, foxes, etc. are very well cared for, and the enclosures are very nice and clean. We did the full moon tour, which involved walking the property and seeing each of the critters, as well as giving snacks and scratches to a couple of the wolf-dogs that they have. They also educated the lot of us about the histories of different wolf breeds, human interactions, etc. At the end, we all walked up to the highest point on the property and stood around a fire while the owner of the center passionately shared the story of how the center came to be. It was all an incredible experience and I'm so glad that we were able to experience it. Side note, their gift shop is absolutely amazing. The things they sell are extremely high quality while also being fun - as I write this, I'm drinking their wolf branded coffee from their mug, both of which are my new favorites. They have beautiful wood and steel wall art, fantastic prints of their wolves, really nice hats, beanies, bags, etc. Luckily for me, I had to fit everything in a suitcase to fly back, otherwise I would've spent a LOT of money in that gift shop. If you're near by, absolutely give this place a visit!
I had a wonderful experience at the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center to cap off a week long vacation prior to driving back to Omaha, NE on Oct 14. I sent in information on a Monday afternoon and got a call back to book the VIP experience for the next day within a half hour. Got it booked and verified dress code requirements before I got off the phone. The main tour started off with a 10-15 minute discussion about conservation and the struggles it's facing and current laws (or lack there of) regarding wolf treatment. It was prefaced with it being depressing content, so I wouldn't see that as a negative I see in other comments. It's the grim reality and I appreciated the detail as it got me interested in what I could do to help. That aside, the guide (I believe his name was Kirk, but I could be wrong) was very knowledgeable and did a great job at each enclosure giving details about each wolf and/or pair. The wolves were very active coming to the gate, being excited for treats, and were at least in site in each enclosure. It was mid October, so the weather was perfect for them to be out. They seemed to be happy and healthy despite what other comments might say. There were strict tour rules to follow, but they're easy. After the main tour, I got the VIP experience and got to meet Krypton (wolf dog) and Zarah (full wolf) for about 20 minutes. That was wonderful. The guides were very gracious about making sure it was worthwhile for me. The wolves played in front of me, on top of me, and didn't mind the interaction with me at all. They were friendly with Krypton enjoying the pets quite a bit. I got a chance to feed both as well as pictures were taken. Overall, it was worth it for me. I got to pet a wolf. That's just cool. It's a great educational experience. Like any animal sanctuary or zoo, the activity of the animals may vary. I came on a great day and I am thankful for that. My VIP experience could have been very different if no wolf was feeling social. The website states that could be the case. I got lucky. Just be mindful that your experiences could vary, but I recommend giving the tour a try. It was a highlight of my trip for sure.
Truly one of a kind facility and experience that is perfect for all ages. The receptionist, Charity, was polite, efficient, and knowledgeable when booking a feeding-tour for my mother and I. The tour-guides were personable, engaging, and informative. The facility is well kept and accessible. It is comforting knowing fees are being put back into facility operations and expansions. A reasonably priced memorable experience that everyone should have!
Excellent place to visit! Great education and animal management and staff. The Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center is accredited by the AZA (Association of Zoos & Aquariums) — not even all zoos and aquariums have this accreditation! The AZA ensures excellent standards are met for animal health and welfare. I was so happy to visit and help support this great organization. The animals are easy to see, but I'm glad I also had binoculars for more zoomed in photos. I will absolutely be back again!
We love this place, what a gem! The property is amazing, what a wonderful place for rescued wolves, foxes and coyotes…. We had a date with Ringo and he was so smart, funny and a total lover. Who DOESN’T want set up an encounter to snuggle a coyote?!? This place is special, the animals are so lucky to be living their best lives! This sanctuary is run by good people that are fighting for these voiceless animals by educating the general public with great tours and fun animal encounters. Make a trip to the mountains to visit, you won’t regret it!
Did the bucket list item and paid for the VIP treatment and got to pat feed and get kisses from 2 wolves best experience ever forever greatful for these majestic creatures ❤️ beautiful grounds with foxes too. Very educational as well. Its sad to think there are not many wolves left in the wild due to hunting and illegal trapping.

Such a beautiful and nice park! We only hit the elk meadow trail but it had everything you could want in one hike. Gorgeous Mountain View’s at points, a bit of dense trees, open valley view, and there is an option to hit a pond on the way back to the parking lot. The lady at the counter in the visitor center was so nice. Will be back for other trails!
Beautiful campground. Quiet, peaceful, user friendly. Beautiful trails. We had cell service. Wonderful, relaxing experience. Can't wait to come back.
Beautifully kept park. Staff are helpful at the center. Enjoyed our walk through the forests. Beautiful picnic tables, well situated and the bird life is amazing. Will definitely be back.
Me and my husband had a great time camping at Mueller State Park. There are facilities like bathroom, shower, dish sink at the Camper’s Services. Guess what you are also welcome if you down own an Rv. We had a tent and had a great time. Is quiet and family environment.
One of my favorite places to go any time of year. Been here hiking in all 4 seasons and always love coming here. Go to the visitor's center as they have some cool stuff and it supports the park!
Beautiful State Park that is well cared for. The trail we hiked from the Visitor Center parking lot was well marked. There were two EV chargers in the parking lot. Lots of camp sites, but you must book in advance.
Mueller State Park Campground offered a great site for both RVs and tents. The sites were large enough for a car and a RV/Camper to fit and even a tent. It had a great view overlooking the mountains as well.
A hidden gem in Colorado, an absolutely beautiful State Park. RV hookups, tent camping, shower facilities, hiking trails. Should check it out at least once.

We stopped in during our Thursday leaf peeping road trip for a quick beer and chips and salsa. The beers were excellent, the pumpkin was the best I've had in Colorado! The chips were regular corn chips and there were 2 salsas, one red and one green. Neither were spicy and the red needed a little something more, like onions and peppers. Others had tacos that looked great, so I'd definitely go try the other options on the menu. The beertender was friendly and very knowledgeable. I even took a crowler of the Pumpkin home!
One of the best brewery in the area… if you’re traveling through, STOP! Great food great beers. Open space and amazing views.
Came at a very quiet time 1400H on a Monday afternoon. Peaceful pastoral surroundings, great beer and very tasty Northern NM / Southern CO bar food. The blood orange lager was very good and the Other Terms Apply Rye Stout was full, mouth-watering and soul-satisfying. I’ll give the separate category “Beer” an honest 5 stars, though the amber ale was pretty plain. This brewery is well-worth the drive from the Springs, and maybe even Denver.
This is such a cool spot! Amazing views, cool patio to chill on, a few food options and usually a food truck, options for people who don’t want beer, friendly staff, very chill vibe, and dog friendly! This place seems to have it all- it’s a new favorite.
I stopped here while cycling the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route. They had an awesome Chile lager that had just a kick of spice, that was perfect. I ended up getting them to make some delicious Micheladas, with the green Chile beer mmmm.... I can't remember the name of guy, he did the announcing for trivia, cool dude very personable. He recommended the birria Ramen and it was dynamite. Over all good experience.
Great view, great beer. One of the brewers Jeremiah did a great job explaining their mindset around their beers. Always appreciate understanding the idea behind the creative process.
Great place to get away! Love the atmosphere! I do miss the old food menu, that was my main reason for traveling to your location in the first place. The build your own bowls, the smoked wings, even though it was a hassle to prep them, that's what I remember this place by. I don't drink, but I would invite all my drinking pals here after fishing the mile, or Antero.
Such a cool spot for a brewery to enjoy the outdoors and view the trees starting to change color. They do have food, but did not get anything that day. Guys and gals over the counter were very friendly and helpful in selecting a beer or two. I ended up getting a beer that tasted like a margarita and another one that had the vibes of a breakfast beer. In all recommend dropping but this place in Divide. Esp after a hike or just sight seeing around the area.

We hiked this trail with our 2 teenage daughters. We were on vacation from Michigan and not fully acclimated to the altitude, but still enjoyed this hike. You are rewarded with a water fall at the end of the trail. I would recommend this trail if you are in the area.
This is a beautiful hike, with access to both Horse Thief Falls trail and Pancake Rocks Trail. The hike to the falls was not difficult. It's only steep for maybe .3 miles at the beginning then levels off. We hiked to the falls then back to the fork and then hiked a mile or so up Pancake Rocks Trail. That trail is much steeper and rarely levels off. We didn't make it quite to the top but was still gorgeous and had great views. We went on the peak aspen-changing weekend and the trails and parking area were very busy. Hiking to the falls first and then halfway up Pancake Rocks Trail took us close to 3 hours total including some short breaks. I'd definitely hike this area again on a less busy weekend and planning ahead for enough time to get all the way up to Pancake Rocks.
Starts off a little steep and a lot of loose gravel but gets easier after the first 100 yards. A great hike for checking out the changing of the leaves! The falls were small but a lot of fun to climb around in the rocks. Ready to go again
Horsethief trail to Pancake rocks is a fun and scenic hike! The first two miles are a decent incline, which I was not aware of, and would have been good to know since I brought along a low altitude, out of town guest who struggled a little. But it does eventually flatten out a bit with a final short incline to the pancakes. On a clear day, you'll enjoy the view of the Rockies off in the West. There are also boulders to climb on along the trail.
Awesome hike with pretty falls to reward your climb at the beginning!
Horsethief Falls Trail is always a delight! Last time I hiked this trail, I split off half way up and did Pancake Rocks (much longer but a fabulous finish) and it rained all the way down. The falls was running with more water volume than I've ever seen. Beautiful day!
Don't let the start of the trail detour you. It was worth the hike, and levels off about halfway in. Go early and the path is mostly shady.
It was a great hike for girls not used to hiking. It started out a little steep and challenging then leveled out into a pleasant trail up to the waterfall. Watch out on the steep part coming back down. The path is gravel and it's easy to slip and fall.
