I've only been here twice. Once was for the harvest festival. They did an amazing job putting this on. We have really enjoyed everything about this winery Just join their wine club think that that is amazing. They're very family friendly, dog friendly We really enjoy spending time here unwinding and kicking back.
We spent a wonderful afternoon & evening at Cunningham creek Vineyard with friends tasting delicious wine, enjoying the beautiful view and lovely live music!🎵 We even spent the night on property in our camper as we are Harvest host members. What a treat! Thanks for the wonderful service! We especially enjoyed the Cab Sav wine and VA Rose!
Since moving to the area we are trying to check out all the different wineries, and this one has become one of our favorites for sure. We decided to have Cunningham host my husband's military retirement event, and it went so well. They took care of coordinating with the cake deliverer, they made sure that the party room was clean and set, and someone made sure to come in to help us if we needed when we were getting the room set and decorated. We decided on Cunningham for our event because it was such a nice family friendly place to go that we had grown to love, the atmosphere was so chill, the scenery and set up just beautiful, the prices were fair, the wine amazing, the staff super nice, the covered porch (in case there was bad weather, which thankfully there wasnt), the live music that was scheduled to play that evening, the games that were inside for the kids to use, and the dog friends that added a unique and fun vibe. Everyone who came to our event were awed by the beauty and vibe of the place. My parents said "if we lived closer this would be our spot...we'd be here every weekend!" Some of my guests, who had a two hour trip back home, stayed for two extra hours after the party was over to hang out on the porch with us enjoying the wine and live music while our kids played soccer and ran around with the dogs. Thank you again for letting us rent out your space and providing such a nice getaway in the area.
After a busy afternoon of swim lessons with my kids, we made a spontaneous stop at Cunningham Creek Winery—and I’m so glad we did. The atmosphere was absolutely perfect. We grabbed a seat outside where the kids enjoyed an ice cream sandwich and had plenty of space to run and play on the grassy lawn, while I got to unwind with a glass of wine. I started with the Herd Dog White Chardonnay, and let me tell you—this wine was a revelation. I’m not usually a Chardonnay drinker, but I could easily make an exception for this one. It was smooth, bright, and incredibly easy to sip. Honestly, I could drink a case of it. As a close second, the Viognier was also a standout—fragrant, balanced, and just as enjoyable. Whether you’re a wine lover or simply looking for a relaxing spot with a welcoming, laid-back vibe, Cunningham Creek is worth the detour. Great wine, beautiful setting, and a family-friendly environment that makes everyone feel right at home. Highly recommend making a stop if you’re in the area!
Wow! I think we found the most dog-friendly winery in the region. The 3 resident dogs greet and welcome everyone to the winery. They are very well-behaved and non-confrontational. Our dogs had no problem with them stopping by every so often for a sniff. The vibe at this beautiful winery is laid-back, dog and family-friendly, and chill/peaceful. Nothing pretentious about it. We loved having our own covered picnic area with access to the awesome dog park and a front row seat to the live music. The flights were a great way to taste all the wines. We chose two delicious bottles to sip on. Oh, the food truck was a great day to end the day with a quick, inexpensive dinner too. It was such a great day and we can’t wait to go back.
Warm, wonderful hospitality. We were guided to excellent choices for a custom wine flight. Enjoyed the wines and a pizza. Bought a few bottles to go! Beautiful property and scenery.
My husband and I just stayed in our RV through the Harvest Host Program on the property at Cunningham Creek… Not only was it beautiful here , we spent a lot of time at the tasting room and outside patio… Debbie, the owner was so gracious , friendly and helpful to us, giving us tips of places to go while in the area etc. The wines, both red and white varieties were great.. we bought several bottles as a result.. I especially enjoyed the Voignier and Herd Dog White while my husband who is a red drinker really liked the Cab and the Meritage… They also have great beers that are brewed here. Their Octoberfest beer was one of the best we have had . We were also able to participate in music bingo night and enjoy a great band on the patio during our stay.. I can’t end without mentioning their three loving Australian Shepherds who just added even more charm. This is a gem of a vineyard on the Monticello Wine Trail.. Thanks for a wonderful weekend !!!!
Tried to visit today for the fall festival with our dog and it was a disaster. As soon as we got out of the car we could hear a ruckus of dogs fighting near the front door. Just figured someone let someone get too close so we headed up the hill and visited with the firemen. Just a few minutes later 2 dogs, off leash came around the corner and approached my dog from each side. Moments later both dogs growled and snapped at my dog. Needless to say we left immediately. I know that these 2 dogs are the winery dogs and I am sure quite friendly to people but the winery is “unfriendly” to other dogs. If you are visiting here with your dog, BEWARE! I must set the record straight. We NEVER made it the front door of your winery. The dog that you think is mine was a poodle that we saw leave from the front door area heading around the building after it evidently got into a ruckus with the winery dogs. When we heard the ruckus we went directly to the firetruck on the hill to the right of the winery. The only witness to what happened next is the fireman, a lady with the fireman, my wife and myself. My dog is a Rough Collie and extremely friendly to all (humans and dogs). While standing there with my dog, your winery dogs came out to him and got on each side of him (an aggressive pack behavior) and each growled and snapped before being chased off by myself and the fireman. At that point we left. Again, we never made it to the front door of your winery and we were not part of the ruckus at the front door which you obviously have confused. Instead of accusing me and my dog of instigating the issue, why don't you just own it. BEWARE IF YOU PLAN TO VISIT THIS WINERY WITH YOUR DOG!

Our 5yo asked to go to an apple orchard and we didn't want to go to a super busy/popular spot so we landed on Fruit Hill Orchard for our visit. We visited Fruit Hill on a Monday (10/2) as soon as they opened. We basically had the place to ourselves. Everything was clearly labeled as to what varieties were and where to pick and not pick. The staff were extremely helpful. We felt the prices were fair. The shop was adorable (tons of already picked apples, jams, jellies, sauces, apple butters, and other local items). We were also pleasantly surprised at the activities for kids (an obstacle course, gourd bowling, bean bag toss, ring toss). We will definitely be back.
Great place for apple picking and apple cider donuts. The grounds are beautiful. A wonderful place to spend the afternoon!!
So much fun! Instructions were easy and the picking is quite affordable as well. The workers were very nice and seemed quite passionate about their jobs, you love to see it. I'll find my way back for some more apples and perhaps some of those donuts as well!
What a delight to have found this place during a drive towards Charlottesville! The owner was super friendly & informative. The products there are very fine quality. Produce is excellent! The days I was there, you could pick your own apples for 99 cents a pound!
It was a very nicely designed orchard. Extremely family oriented. It's rather small so I would recommend having options on addition to stopping here but still worth a look around. Beautiful trees and an apple museum that was pretty cool. I'm glad I went.
I almost don't want to leave a review because I love this quaint little farm and that it's not too crowded. Great apple picking, great doughnuts, a few little games, and a super cute museum! We will definitely be back next fall!
The perfect little place! Very kid friendly with games and an obstacle course. Yummy apples and a playground and great lunch place right up the road
We LOVE Fruit Hill Orchard. It is a smaller, less crowded orchard which we appreciate but not at all lacking in variety of apples, treats, and activities. They even grow Nittany Apples which are a family favorite and not a popular variety to find. The orchard is well maintained and without excessive rotten fruit on the ground meaning there are not a lot of bees swarming. The staff are always so warm and welcoming and knowledgeable about their fruits. I will continue to reluctantly share this HIDDEN GEM with family and friends.

We visited today and were able to tour both museums and walk the nature path. The hiking trails are nice and clear, but narrow and wet/ steep in some parts. We did it with kids and no one had trouble. Both museums are awesome and worth a visit. The main house has an elevator and the bathrooms inside and outside were all nice and clean. There’s a picnic shelter and a playground also. Staff were so nice and helpful. This is an amazing hidden treasure.
Fantastic place for a hike. There is plenty of areas to explore, maps, and notices before you leave. These trails were very nice and not too difficult for beginners.
Well marks trails that follow along and down a ridge overlooking a broad creek. The Heritage Trail is the longest and intersects w a few others. About 20 Mi east of Charlottesville in Fluvanna Co. Other amenities incl dog park, picnic pavillions, restrooms.
We picnic here! Nearly empty during the week! Love love love the fairs here!
The park is really nice and looks well maintained. Apparently there is an 18 hole disc golf course... Which I will venture out to eventually. The recent carnival was not very desirable but as I get older, none of them are. We heard from several people that the carnival and events at the park were less than previously... Not sure why but the park is nice!
This is a great community park and our team delivers SuperFun Attractions there frequently. Here we are at the Fluvanna County Fair.
I had a great time watching my granddaughter play soccer. Beautiful park. Good parking.
Great open park with expansive playing fields and challenging Disc golf course.

We had a company outing, and the experience was excellent. We ranged in experience to never having fired a gun before to some with experience with clay shooting. Everyone had a wonderful time. Brad gave insightful instruction to all levels and created a relaxed but safe environment. The course is also setup to provide all levels with a challenge. All around great time. Highly recommend.
This is a true clay shooting gem. Brad sets very fair and challenging targets that challenge shooters of all levels. He and his staff are incredibly helpful and eager to help, especially new shooters. Corporate groups will love the temperature controlled enclosed pavilion and different event options. Absolutely worth the drive!
Big fan of what Brad is doing here. Lots of variety on the sporting clays setup. He really seems thoughtful on the red vs white vs orange station setups, generally equating to easier, medium difficulty, challenging so newbs to old hats can dial things in. Definitely recommend a visit to check out this place. Friendly and welcoming folks.
George was SO nice. I went with my family and three of us had never really even touched a gun before going. George showed us the ropes, gave us advice, and was so patient. We did the 5 platform option with 25 shots each and that was a great amount for us, especially as beginners. Thank you so much to the lovely staff!
Awesome place! Owner came over, introduced himself and talked to us for a while before we went out and shot a really enjoyable wooded course. Highly recommend!
I went to Central Virginia Sporting Clays as part of the larger group. Though I had never held a shotgun, Brad, an owner and phenomenal instructor, made the entire experience fun, engaging, encouraging and safe! The property is huge, to say the least. You will not get bored over here. While my group only used the first pit-stop, you can spend the entire day here at different stops. It was an extremely fun experience. I would highly recommend Central Virginia Sporting Clays to anyone!
We had a corporate outing at the course this September and everyone truly enjoyed the experience. The highlight of the experience was Brad and his wonderful staff. Can't say enough good things about how professional, warm, and friendly everyone was. Don't miss out on the fried chicken lunch after you shoot and if you get a chance to strike up a conversation with Brad, the owner, do it. You won't be disappointed.
My husband and I took a lesson with Mr Dennis. He was a wonderful instruction and offered tons of tips. Safety first. We are now addicted to sporting clay shooting and will be heading back to take another lesson. The place was clean, staff incredibly friendly, great course. 10/10!

Great course with challenging layout. Decent value. Was not crowded at all. Awesome practice facility with plenty of putting green area and separate chipping/short game area. Challenging to walk, especially the back 9 because of elevation changes but layout flowed easily from hole to hole. Would definitely come back
Great course very beautiful!! I just started golf and have been playing with friends to learn the game and get better. Sadly I had a very disappointing in-counter with Tommy Deal, he was very disrespectful and one of the most stuck up people I’ve talked to. I bought range balls not knowing you couldn’t use them on the course. He rudely took the balls from me acting as if I knew I couldn’t use them after telling him I was new to golf. The machine also charged me twice when I chose to pay once. He refused a refund to me and calls the lake police to be his back up. No where on the dispenser did it say I cannot receive a refund if I don’t use the balls, nor did it say anywhere not to use them on the course. He also threatened a ban towards me with false information. Very unprofessional, should have gave me the refund.
Beautiful golf course. Narrow fairways at times but the whole course plays fair to a mid to high handicap like me.
Super fun and challenging track. Tough to beat for the price especially on a weekend. Conditions are almost perfect from tee to green. Clearly a lot of pride regarding maintenance staff. Would be nice to see them speed up the greens by a foot or two but other than that, 5/5.
The worst golfing experience I have ever had. My family is in from NC and we were expecting to have a fun time. After we were told we could play as a group of 6, Gary Jenifer came up on hole 2 cussing us out saying we could not play as a group of 6. He did not just politely ask us if we could split up. He came up dropping the “F” bomb left and right. It was the most unprofessional way of handling a situation I’ve ever experienced at any establishment. Do not recommend this course at all.
Several beautiful holes interlaid within a residential area surrounding lake Monticello. Holes 9 and 18 are rather exceptional but all of them were a treat. It's great that I was able to reserve a tee time a few days in advance, some of the surrounding golf courses are day by day. All in all, it was a wonderful time and I recommend it to anybody who loves several water features within a golf course
Lunch at the Pub - on Wednesday of their first week open - food and service were great.
Nice but a little overpriced. Should be in the $55 range for condition it is in.
