Follow the directions to Paradise or the visitors center and bring your hiking shoes. Take the longer trail up the back of the mountain if you are physically fit. You'll walk up past the falls (take a quick stop, it's beautiful) and then past the paved path to the left. You'll encounter a FRACTION of the people on this steeper and longer trail, but it's well worth it and you'll be amazed once you get to Panorama Point. We hiked down the face- this was a mistake, go back the way you came and avoid the insane crowds. Wear appropriate shoes, bring more water than you think you'll need and take in the amazing scenery. We saw marmots and chipmunks everywhere and even ran into a mountain goat. Truly a breathtaking and majestic hike.
Very difficult to find a parking lot, other than that the experience is wonderful.
Skyline Loop in the Paradise portion of Mt. Rainier is easily one of the most beautiful treks you can take in the lower 48. Best digested early in the morning. Make memories my friends!
Absolutely beautiful
Pretty drive through the Cascade region. Couldn't see all of he mountain at a distance due to the cold fight weather. Friendly staff at the park who are knowledgeable. Be sure to bring tire chains to the park if visiting in winter months. They can be rented in small towns 10 minutes outside of Mt Rainer National Park.
This is a very nice place to go hiking and snowshoeing in the late winter/early spring and the lodge is cozy also.
It will be fun during snow times, only if you can reach it :)
Awesome! Everyone should visit at least once in there life!

In June 2025, we were heading to Mount Rainier National Park, as it had been raining all day in the Seattle metro area (what else is new?). We saw the Recycled Spirits of Iron Sculpture Park adjacent to the Highway 706, a few miles from Mount Rainier National Park entrance. We then visited Mount Rainier National Park, as it was foggy and raining, and on our return trip, we visited the Iron Sculpture Park. The Park is open to the public and the iron sculptures are cleverly done with great effort and skill by the master sculptor and welder. There were at least 20 different sculptures and they looked even better in the falling rain. This is free and highly entertaining roadside attraction and I am so happy that we stopped by to enjoy it.
A very nice stop to walk around and look at the amazing sculptures made out of metal. Easy to donate, cash or Venmo, and there are six porta potties available. It takes a talented, creative artist to use the metal pieces in this fashion. Definitely worth the stop.
Very cool sculptures at this park! Definitely worth checking out and please donate $5 if you can to help them keep up on the amazing work!
Absolutely amazing work! The entire property is covered in the most interesting artwork made from recycled steel. Sadly the gift shop was closed on our visit and it was raining so we will have to come back. We highly recommend this roadside attraction!
Awesome. Such talent! Free/donation. I wish the gift shop had been open. Could use a porta potty. Took a lot of pictures. Totally worth visiting. Thank you for your joyful contribution!
Amazing iron sculptures from recycled metal- horseshoes, gears, etc.- beautifully and creatively done – don’t miss the little details in each! Lovely Outdoor space, right off the road to Rainier.. This artist is a treasure!
A gem on the way to Rainier. Unfortunately was closed when we stopped by but outside still open so was able to tour the amazing sculptures. Made donation to help support as fellow artist who gave welding a try and wants to try again after seeing this inspiration.
Runs on donations. Wonderful iron sculptures. Allow about 30 minutes. There are about 5 parking spots but I've never seen it full.

Nice place with a lot to offer. Selling for local artisans is a wonderful thing. Beautiful paintings, prints, and pottery including mugs.
Wonderful local gallery with the owner and his wife’s art collection. Prints, originals, pottery, jewelry, and antique postcards are available for purchase. The owner is friendly and great to talk to.
Ashford creek pottery is The most beautiful gallery, with an amazing owner Rick! Don't miss this small town gem when visiting MT Rainier national park!
Absolute must stop for art lovers. Great selection of artists to purchase your own pieces at any price point as well as a terrific gallery of beautiful pieces in a myriad of mediums. Well work the stop on your way to or from Rainier.
Ashford Creek Pottery is an amazing place to see the work of local artists. Rick is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the culture of the area. A definite stopping spot if you're in the Mt. Ranier area!
The proprietor of this store is a retired art teacher and was so incredibly kind and welcoming to my kids, ages 6 and 9. I was nervous to bring my kids into a store full of fragile treasures, but was so glad that I did, as he welcomed them warmly and entertained them with his vintage postcard collection, and even encouraged my daughter, a budding artist, to help him paint a bowl he was glazing. The store is full of beautiful, reasonably priced, hand-crafted artwork from local artists and I was tempted to buy everything I saw. There is also a fantastic collection of PNW art on display from the past century that is not for sale and was an absolute delight to peruse. Both this store and it's owner are absolutely gems and I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.
A lovely small town gem. Super friendly owner, full of local history and beautiful art. Worth the stop!!
Absolutely LOVED the selection of art and goods they had to offer. We stayed in Washington for nearly 11 days and they had the best selection we found especially for the area. The owner is so kind and welcoming. If you're looking for a unique gift or piece of art, large or small, it's a must!
