The staff is great. They are relaxed, always smiling. And you feel welcome. The entire casino, including the bathrooms, just shine. And smell good. They're cleaning crew on the casino Floor are always pleasant. Would you like a casinos? Are not that way. These are just a few things that make the clientele comfortable. And not on edge as they gamble.
I love the atmosphere, great people and an amazing staff. May I suggest if you have backed child support that you only ever have part of your money in the machine.i rolled a jackpot today while I had my entire bankroll 30 dollars, used a fifty was going to cash out and leave at 20. Not only was the jackpot taken but all the money that way in at the time. Thank you for leaving me with nothing to be able to get home.
All I can say about this casino is that they are stingy when it comes to giving out gifts, gift cards, and free plays. $10 gift cards? Really? I went to Bally's once and they sent me a coupon book with all kinds of good stuff. Free Buffets (everyday), Free Hotel every week, $100 FREE PLAY Every day!!!! PLUS $80 GIFT CARDS!!!! And their free gifts are not cheap gifts! I have been driving there to get my free $100 plays and $80 gift cards! An hour drive for me. It's worth it!! And the funny thing is...I don't have to lose hundreds of dollars just to get all these free stuffs. I can't wait until the new casino opens up in Cedar Rapids! Once they are open, I will be going there. No more Riverside!!!
It’s alright. Not the nicest machines and feels a little like it’s outdated at some places. Most of the staff is chill and helpful. The worst part definitely is the room. The beds are super soft and not the most comfortable. And the shower has an exterior curtain. That’s understandable for a one bed room, but in a two queen bedroom doesn’t make sense. Not sure who’s trying to watch their homies shower. Only other complaint was we were on the floor for close to 5 hours and only once were asked by staff if we wanted a drink. It’s not a big issue because I don’t mind getting up for a break but it kinda seemed like a missed opportunity.
Great games. Payout is very common on plenty of the machines. So much that you will get carried away if your not careful. Also the real gem is the restaurant Ruthies!!!! A+ on the food it is $$$ but we'll worth it. 😋 As always play for fun and do not build an addiction. IIt is a really good Casino/Hotel and we have stayed at the hotel as well and it was good. You will love the bathroom/shower! Tons of space. God bless!
The room is nice. Love the shower. Enjoy the hot tub and pool. Slot machines were on fire. Good way to relax on a weekend. Update: have stayed multiple times and continue to have great experiences.
I absolutely love this place and have a great time here! The thing I enjoy the most is how engaging and friendly the workers are. Specially: Roy (Floor), Emily (Dealer), and Larry (Floor) have made my experience here just great.
The restaurant stayed open past their posted hours on Sat. Night when a big concert crowd was wanted to eat. Very good food. Good service. Even won a little gaming. Concert was top notch. The patrons were a bit pushy and rude but you will have that

Pretty neat to see. I’m more of a next generation fan, but I can respect what the original Star Trek was for its time. If you are a Trekkie, definitely a must see. If you are at the site at 12, be aware that the speaker above the monument is a tornado alarm and goes off at 12 everyday. Not sure why, but it almost scared me into the year 2228. Be warned lol
Neat bit of pop culture history. The museum had a decent amount of Star Trek memorabilia and souvenir items. I was a little disappointed that the marker got moved by City Hall. It is tucked back between two buildings. It feels like it needs a better placement.
Great to have been there but the monument was moved. The area is being updated. Love star trek, to be there was awesome.
Very nice granite marker notating the "Future birthplace of James T. Kirk", Captain of the Starship Enterprise. The town is decorated with banners showing multiple Star Trek characters from the original TV Show.
For Star Trek fans traveling through Iowa this is a fun stop if you have the time. Don't expect anything more than a few monuments and a bar or two down the road. This is just a fun, out of the way stop to.take a couple pictures to share with your friends.
A legend is born...or will be. This is a fun little stop for Star Trek fans. It is a nice nod to Captain James T. Kirk, the franchise, and the other actors/characters from the Original Series. Right across the street is the post office which also has some postings and items related to Star Trek TOS. Several places in the town have flags on telephone/light poles with different characters on them. Be sure to check out the museum/store in town as well as the statue of James T. Kirk.
All Trekkies should make this pilgrimage! The town has embraced this and offers more to see.
Great visit for a Star Trek - The Original Series (ST:TOG) / Captain Kirk fan, but also quite a bit of other Star Trek memorabilia including Data's desk from ST:TNG. Best thing about the location is that the entire town is in on it: Star Trek themed street signs, post office, welcome sign, park, etc. Staff was very chatty and made our visit great. Definitely worth the stop for a fan. Don't expect a high budget California attraction.. this is a fan funded place built from love of the series and supported by volunteers.

Definitely worth visiting! This spot is part of the town’s Star Trek attractions, along with the Birthplace of James T. Kirk memorial and the James T. Kirk statue. Inside, you’ll find some really cool Star Trek: The Original Series memorabilia and props, along with a great selection of souvenirs for fans. There's no charge for admission, and there’s plenty of interesting things to see both inside and out. The hours are a bit limited, but they’re sufficient for a solid visit. A must-stop for any fan passing through!
“Our spectro-readings showed no contamination - no unusual elements present.” This place rules. It was the first thing we added to our must-visit list for our roadtrip, and the last place we visited before making the journey home. I wish I could remember the guy’s name, I wanna say Tuvok but that’d be way off - we were a little overwhelmed and it’d been a long drive - either way, Guy Fleegman as I’ll call him for now (sorry dude), was awesome - super friendly and knowledgeable. There’s a world map on the wall with pins placed on the country of origin for visitors. It was amazing to see pins from Europe, Africa, and Asia on this wall in Riverside, Iowa. It’s a nice, quiet town that’s really leaned into the Kirk narrative - the streets are decorated with pictures of characters from the show. The post office shows off Star Trek collectible stamps. We didn’t get to see the actual Kirk Monument (they were renovating the area - it also seems like they move the statue around a bit? so definitely check in before you go searching for it) - but it was definitely worth a stop. It’s great that little places like this still exist - driving across the country, I noticed that many of the roadside attractions which made the American highway famous have had to close - there’s something sterile, homogenous, about the buildings which replace them - they lack character - they’re the architectural equivalent of a spreadsheet and they’re speeding like wildfire across the country. It’s important to find these little places, seek them out, and support them. Share the story. I’m sure there’s something closer to you than you think - and they probably need you. What would Kirk do?
Great little museum. The docent was very talkative and had lots of interesting information about the actors that visited and lots of info about Shatner. It's small but has lots of Trekkie stuff including a small setup of the Enterprise bridge and Captain's chair. Step on the transporter pad and press the button for flashing lights and sound effects! There is a small gift shop that has communicator pins, mouse pads, coffee mugs and glasses, and t-shirts. I really wanted a Star Trek uniform t-shirt but they didn't have any of those. Outside is an Enterprise replica parade float as a photo op. Across the street in the little park is statue of Captain Kirk. Trekkies fans will really like this little place and I can't say enough kind words about our museum guide. I wish I could remember her name to give her the credit she deserves.
The ideal place for a pilgrimage of any Star Trek Fan! Very ambitious stuff, free entry and a lot to see! Don't miss the statue of Jim Kirk and the stone beneth the cityhall. Maps are provided at the museum. They also have a very cool and rather large giftshop!
People running are Trek fans. They have built some pieces to enhance visitors' enjoyment. There are some authentic Trek memorabilia. It's definitely worth visiting. Closes at 4 pm, so plan accordingly.
For a Star Trek geek like myself, this was an awesome stop on our way out to Montana! Lots of memorabilia, signed photos, actual props and items from show/movie production and items for sale! Had a great time talking "shop" with one of the owners and learned a few things about the Trek universe that I didn't know before. The whole town of Riverside seems to have embraced the "future birthplace" of James T. Kirk wholeheartedly, which makes it even more fun! Their street signs even have a "swoosh" emblem of the Enterprise on them! Just awesome! What a fun way to spend part of our day!
This is a free museum. They have an extensive collection of multiple generations of Star Trek Memorabilia in the heart of the future birthplace of Captain James T. Kirk, Riverside, Iowa. This is a must stop for all fans of all generations of the Star Trek franchise. We enjoyed the interactive displays, set displays, and other collectibles on display. We were able to support the museum and pick up a few memorabilia at the gift shop. I would recommend the lego-like brick build! I would recommend the visit. They had some great volunteers manning the museum when we were there.
I loved this simply because I'm a trekkie. But it is overpriced for what it is. The guy who was there helping us tried to outdo everyone as to who he "knows" and "met." The problem with that is he doesn't listen to anyone else. I drove 2k miles to get there and he doesn't care at all. The people in front of us had a story to tell about their Star Trek experience which brought them there but he talked over them. Thats bad customer service. I bought a shirt for $25...typical of places like this.
