Wonderful place to try some local cider, David was very helpful in explaining the differences and it was fascinating to hear about his foraging for wild apples. Would you recommend anyone interested in cider. Cheese plate was also a wonderful pairing to go with the cider flight
We had such fantastic ciders at Portersfield Cider. It was a super welcoming vibe all around. We loved the local cheese options served to pair too. Dogs aren’t allowed in the tasting room, but we appreciated being able to have ours as we ate and tasted outside in a beautiful field. Definitely recommend picking up some bottles to-go!
We came all the way from Florida with Portersfield Cider on our Maine bucket list! What a wonderful, unique experience to have with your friends or family. 12/10 recommend stopping by for a tasting!
Stopped in at Portersfield Cider on a short trip to the Portland area. David was super hospitable and extremely knowledgeable and willing to share about the cider making process. The ciders were great, each one we tried was better than the last. The plate with locally sourced cheeses, honey, & preserves was equally fantastic. And the prices were very reasonable. One of the best experiences we've had tasting cider, in the southeast US or Maine.
This place was exceptional. David, the owner, welcomed my spouse, and two children warmly. We had two flights of four ciders each. Additionally we ordered some fantastically delicious local cheeses and crackers. and two lemon Pellegrinos for the kids. David explained each of the ciders and how he procured each of the apples. After the four flights he opened an additional glass based on our favorite cider. David, attentively answered each of our questions around the brewing process and the cidery. All and all it was a delightful experience. We hope to go back.
This place is incredible!!! We found it by driving by and so glad we stopped! They allow dogs outside and the property was stunning! The cider was absolutely delicious, with a wonderful selection to try. We had a 4 flight tasting as well as a cheese plate. The cheese plate was one of the best ever and the whole experience was so fun and tasty! Highly recommended to everyone!
This was a great find! It was on my list of always wanting to go cider tasting. The owner made it such an amazing experience for us. Such a quaint place. He really explains and give details on his cider and how he makes it. You can tell this is a passion for him. The cheese is a MUST! The quality is incredible! I wish I could have packed some of that up as well to take home, but it wouldn’t have made it. Everything is local and organic. You can taste the difference. The cider is quality so if you are use to drinking angry orchard this is not the place for you. This is QUALITY cider. The best I’ve ever had by far! Also, you’ll be greeted by several friendly chickens. We couldn’t get enough of these lovely girls! Make sure to go online and get a reservation asap!
A fine selection of incredible ciders. Mostly dry to semi-sweet ciders, they also have incredible customer service and are very friendly. The cheese selection was delicious and would highly recommend this to everyone!
