Traditional Lombok village known for its elevated woven huts, textile vendors & street performances.

Visiting Sade Traditional Village in Lombok was an incredible cultural experience. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with traditional musical instruments, followed by a wonderful live performance. Here, you can explore traditional houses, learn about the local way of life, and even try your hand at weaving. There are also many souvenir stalls selling woven crafts and handmade items, which you can purchase to support the local community.
When you google this village, searches advise the entrance fee is “free”. This isn’t quite correct. Upon entering the village you are asked to sign in & give a “donation”. As well as this, you are expected to take a guide who also expects a tip after showing you around. I understand that this is how the village makes its money, but I do think the “advertising” is quite misleading. That being said, it’s a lovely & interesting place to visit to learn about the indigenous people & how they live.
A must visit Sade Village! It’s the best place to learn about Sasak culture and the roots of Lombok. The village feels authentic and peaceful, and our guide was really kind and informative. Such a great experience! For the entry cost you just need to pay as you wish, and you can also leave more as a tip special for the guide😇
A great place to experience the traditional Sasak culture and lifestyle. There’s no entrance fee, just a voluntary donation. A local guide will walk you through the village and explain their traditions and handmade crafts — very informative and friendly! Remember to give a small tip to your guide as appreciation. It’s a short but meaningful visit to learn about the real Lombok heritage.
A must visit place when you visit Lombok. A historical place for the indigenous people of Lombok. Here you will be guided by a guide (who is a local resident of Sade village, don't forget to give a tip) Then at the entrance you will pay a contribution fee. Your guide will take you on a tour of the village, showing you how the locals weave and paint. Make this visit a truly memorable experience.
Some of the nicest people you can meet. Entry and guide fees are voluntary (pay as much as you feel like). Rent hand woven traditional costumes to walk around a 1000 year old village. The guide tells you stories and you shop for hand made textiles and beautiful jewellery boxes, t-shirts, beads, while taking photos/videos. Even ATM across the road is hand made to look like Sasak house. I preferred the local spicy food at a warung opposite Capricorn, which is targeting westerners.
So interesting to take part of this ancient, still living village, and getting a brief understanding of the sasaknese lifes. Possibly a little too much commerse, but they sure need some money as well. I really recommend to go.
Great tour with our guide. You get assigned a guide who takes you on a tour of the place. You can go inside some of the little houses and observe the way of life there as it has been for 15 generations..
