The park is the best destination for camping. I am not a fan of sleeping in a tent, but Killbear lets me have the desire to try. The views are Incredible! The water is crystal clear and clean. The rocky bank of The Tree looks so similar to the coast of Prince Edward Island... Vast, clean, peaceful.
It's Halloween 🎃 day and we just left the park. Great biking trails, so smooth and beautiful beaches. Sites are not very private but they are spacious. Great bathrooms and there is a decent store near by. No LCBO that I saw. Not very pet friendly. Off leash is a drivable distance. Great place for family and kids.
Nice park - quite busy, and a lot of sites seem really close to each other. A lot of beautiful water front sites - but keep in mind the wind off the bay can be quite strong! Great campground for someone with a motorized boat. We kayak- so we prefer smaller lakes like af Grundy.
Great provincial park. Very large, camping sites have good space and plenty of trees for privacy from the camper next to you. Beaches are nice, good biking trails and fantastic views ! Also, if you like snakes, you are almost certain to see one if you look. If I was to find one fault while we were there, it's the showers at all comfort stations were closed due to a lack of water pressure I was told.
Great camp ground! Not a lot of privacy between each camp ground but the cleanliness of the grounds and the bathrooms make it worth a visit. The drinking water was not drinkable when we visited, so definitely bring your own drinking water. The beach along the coast is so beautiful and well kept.
All of the trails and the park in general were very beautiful. There is lots to do. Trails, swimming, if you had a boat/kayak/paddle board you could do that too. You can't buy ice in the park but there are a couple stores just outside that you can buy dry wood and ice at. The whole time we were there (4 days) there was constant trouble with the bathrooms. Toilets were always overflowing as they are all flush toilets now (where we were anyways). They weren't very well maintained. They could be short staffed this time of year though. We saw lots of wildlife and beautiful views. Overall a great experience and nothing a few more staff members couldn't fix.
It was an amazing trip with the kids. The water is shallow for miles with solid sandy bottoms, nothing unsuspecting underfoot. Lots of unique wildlife to discover and the campsites are nicely spaced from each other. The kids bikes lots with new friends. We will definitely be back we barely scratched the surface of things to discover. Note: There is no playground (slides/swings) but you won't be bothered because the beaches are so close to the sites and there are beaches everywhere so it never gets crowded. It was an amazing trip and everyone had fun. Bring walkie talkies to keep track of everyone. Lol
Killbear Provincial Park offers a stunning natural escape, even on a rainy day. Despite the thunderstorms and tornado warnings during our visit, the park's beauty and wildlife were captivating. The Lookout Point Trail is a standout, providing breathtaking views that make it the best trail in the park. Other trails, including the Lighthouse Point Trail, Killbear Shoreline Hike, Twin Points Trail, and Killbear Park Recreation Trail, each offer unique experiences and are well-maintained. The park’s diverse landscapes, from rocky shorelines to lush forests, create a perfect backdrop for hiking and wildlife spotting. Rain or shine, Killbear Provincial Park remains a top destination for nature lovers.

We saw Classic Seger there last week. What a wonderful show in a beautiful venue. Great sound, great sight lines. The staff were very helpful.
Everything about Bobby Orr,cool stuff to see and read about. Lots in the gift shop to buy
What a great detour out of my trip. A must see for any true hockey fan. I was seriously glad I made the decision to go take a look.
This was a fantastic place. It's kid friendly and the staff are amazing. If you are or have a hockey fan in your house, take a trio to Parry Sound and visit. You won't be disappointed. I learned I shoot left....
The Bobby Orr Hall of Fame in Parry Sound is a heartfelt tribute to one of hockey’s greatest legends—and a proud celebration of local heritage. Nestled within the Charles W. Stockey Centre, this museum offers an immersive experience that’s both educational and inspiring, whether you're a lifelong hockey fan or simply curious about the sport’s history.
A small venue that is quick to tour and not worth the full price. There are a couple of interactive items for kids and the 1 shooting area wasn't fully functional.
Great concert hall and venue for various things. They host several musical shows, theatres, comedy and other community based events. Really beautiful sunsets!
The boyfriend and I stopped for a walk down the trail and found a cute little secluded-ish dock. Sturdier docks down the trail a bit more but this was more in our interest

Had a wonderful week camping at Oastler Lake. The sound of the trains didn't really bother us. The fishing was not good, but we had fun kayaking and swimming. Our dog enjoyed swimming too. We used the small 2 stall bathroom near our site. They were kept pretty clean, but often ran out of toilet paper. Firewood sold on site was nice and dry. My family really liked this park, we will return!
Beautiful park! I imagine it gets even more beautiful in the fall! Our site was 151 — a beautiful site with two pads so you can park separate from where your tent or eating is. Waterfront access and incredibly clean! Only reason it isn’t five stars because there are trains that run through semi often. It didn’t bother me too much and I didn’t wake up in the night, but was challenging getting to bed. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper! This is also a very easy stop off the highway so if you are driving through on the TransCanada, this park adds virtually no time going out of the way. I have never heard of this park prior, but I’m so glad we have stopped as I’d love to go back now we know!
Not a bad little campground in the Muskokas. Noise from the nearby highway wasn’t as bad as I expected. The campground has a great selection of campsites from powered for rvs to some nice forested tent sites. Amenities are standard. Take a canoe or kayak ride around the bays.
Sites are generous in size and spaced apart nicely. The land is beautiful with well kept grounds. The front staff are very friendly and helpful and the staff kept the washrooms and grounds very clean and well stocked daily. The beaches and water were stunning. The park was rented out yet we couldn’t tell at all it was busy. Very quiet and so specious the entire weekend was very peaceful.
Oastler Lake PP has been overall nice to us. We just had heavy rain one day, but overall experience was good. There is only one thing I did not like, the sites are not very private and we had the site 155, which was in front of the comfort stations. I specifically booked it for us to be convenient, however, people in the campsite behind 102 and 104, there was a large group and they just kept passing through out campsite, even after we repeatedly told them not to. They were not nice people and even after we complained about them, they still kept doing it. They did not ask for permission, or nothing. They just thought that’s their campsite. But other than that, washrooms were good, our campsite was good. It has a nice beach and you can also rent canoes. It was a good experience.
Enjoyed our time at site #117. Good size park but no hiking trails so a more relaxing/sedentary boat versus active. Nice to have direct water access and a big lot. We were on the side of the park closest to the highway to get into the park, which is quite noisy. As well, there’s a train track with trains regularly on it.
This park was lovely! I’ve visited very many Ontario parks, and while this one isn’t my favourite, it was a nice few days. Tucked close to Parry sound, there was no shortage of adventures to be had. We went up the tower and walked the gardens, which I highly recommend, walked the rose point trail, took the swing bridge to Parry Island, and saw the trains roar past Reynolds junction. The park is quiet, beautiful, and the sites are great! As with most parks, the electric are much less private, but the non electric and walk ins are amazing, right on the water! One thing that took a star away - TRAINS!! The trains go by all day AND night, so if you’re a light sleeper, you want white noise or best to find another northern park.
Went camping on a long weekend this summer with some friends. The beach is beautiful, clean and great for walking in the water. But there are no washrooms nearby the beach, washrooms are located on the opposite side of the park. There are no shade shelters or umbrellas for the picnic tables. The park is very small and you can walk the entire thing in about 15 minutes. The sites offer no privacy or separation from other sites. Friends of ours on another site said that other campers just walked through their site to take a shortcut to the showers. Very unsettling at night to hear people walk right beside your tent. There is little to no patrolling or enforcement of the provincial park rules. ( noise, burning of garbage etc) The water is very shallow, which is great for children but not the best for adults who want to swim. If you went out past the enclosure so swim in deeper water, the weeds were very bad. The area is very close to a railway, so you do hear a train almost every hour or so and it does happen throughout the night. The stars from the beach are beautiful and we still had a great time despite some unexpected surprises. It is the loudest camping ground I have ever stayed at. If you come here to get away from the noise of the city, you will be left disappointed.

We'd visited the West Parry Sound District Museum years ago to pass a rainy day camping at Killbear. I was back this time with one of my adult kids on a day trip to Parry Sound. On this visit, the Lions Room Gallery had an exhibition related to the Waubuno shipwreck. The Roy E Smith Room housing more permanent installations has an amazing model train set up showcasing rail history in the area. Several life-size dioramas are present - I think the raccoon might get the pie on the windowsill! The basement gallery is currently hosting a history of the Parry Sound curling club. We had fun playing "floor curling" on the model curling sheet. A great part of the Tower Hill area (along with the Heritage Garden and, of course, the Tower), the WPSDM is well worth a visit. August 21, 2024 F & J
A wonderful little museum dedicated to the service at lighthouses, the railway, the life of ordinary people and hunters. The exposition dedicated to the rescue and fire service deserves special attention.
My daughter and grandkids went here on our day trip. It's beautiful there and lost to see and a very tall tower to go up and see Perrysound. What a great place to see and relax. Loved I. Has a model train display and more.
A must visit for the tower view didn’t get the chance to see inside the museum as it was closed. Please watchout for the holidays i will upload in the pictures. From the tower we can also walk around through the forest and reach the rail line you can take great pictures in the rocks. Parking is limited during rush hour. The garden is well mainted with lots of flowers and very neat
Liked the tower, got to see the entire town from there lol, and yes it was open after closing hour
The museum was closed when we visited, but the grounds were really nice and we enjoyed the views from the top of the tower. We hiked along the rotary trail to get up to the museum and it was very pleasant. The trails, tower, and museum are fairly simple, but worth stopping and checking out.
Great place to visit. Beautiful model railway display of the Ottawa, Arnprior and Parry Sound railway. Other exhibits rotate so always something new to see. Climb to the top of the lookout tower for a spectacular view of Parry Sound, the trestle and harbour.
Great small town logging museum highlighting the area. Take a walk through the gardens and up the fire tower while you're there.

One of my favourite parks in Ontario. This is the only provincial park I know of where you can canoe to your site without the need to Portage. This is a huge benefit to those who may struggle to carry a canoe. Routes can vary from easy calm water to challenging open water sections. Beware of sites in the West section of the park if you are not an experienced paddler, the water conditions can be hazardous. If you visit, please keep your sites clean and do not cut any branches or trees.
Came backcountry camping in the first week of October. Rented a canoe from the park office at Pete's Access Point (you may want to call ahead of time to ensure availability). There are many campsites which do not require a portage from here, so that was nice. We were at site #315 which is about 1-1.5 hrs of canoeing in optimal weather conditions. Only bad part was there were a ridiculous amount of motor boats in our area. There were boats passing us by even as late as 11:30pm! I'd recommend going to areas with less cottages to avoid all the boats
Incredible place to go back country canoeing. Clean campsites, and beautiful vistas. The portage trails are relatively well maintained. The biggest issue is the landings, as they're very shallow in many places. Make sure to bring boots for portages. Also, beware of ticks, I've never seen so many in one place. Had to remove four of them, all at different times.
Awesome easy access to canoe, kayak and boating, water access only from Three Legged Lake and Pete's Place access points, backcountry camping in the Archipelago on Clear Lake, Spider Lake's, Blackstone Harbor, Little Blackstone Lake, Captain Allen Straight and Moon Bay. Head out to HENRY'S Restaurant on Frying Pan Island for a good time.
Perfect place for a family canoe trip. We start at the Three Legged Lake access point. From there short portage (one steep section) to spider lake which has plenty of good portages. Can get windy but lots of bays and to find protection. Love knowing what site I have and no rush to get there!
A gem so close to the golden Horseshoe. Ontario is the paddling capital of the world. With over one million lakes plus rivers, stream and James Bay adventure options are endless. The Massassuaga PP is an amazing example of Canadian Sheild meeting a great lake with thousands of island and inland lakes too. I have been to the park roughly 10 times for backcountry trips of varying degrees. Massassuaga separates itself from Algonquin, Killarney, Quetico (to a lesser extent and) and Wabakimi as portaging can be avoided even on very long trips. And you can also go out to the rougher waters if you're prepared and expreinced. If you are a paddler and can't make regular trips to the further park - this park is great for shorter trip!
One of my favourite backcountry parks in Ontario. If you want privacy you’ll have to do a couple portages to get away from the cottages, but you can also choose to do an easier paddle and stay a few kms from Pete’s Place. I planned a day trip to Moon River Falls for my friends, we saw a bald eagle, it was a lovely trip! My site was 408, which doesn’t get lights from the cottages on Wood’s bay but did get heavy boat traffic.
Come here once and you're hooked. Lovely back-county P.P. Been her many times over the past 15 years. The addition of picnic tables on the sites was welcomed by this older canoeist. Very busy in the summer, can be difficult to reserve a prime campsite. Staff at the Ostler Lake office have always been friendly and efficient. Never did come across a Massassauga Rattler😨

Beach has been maintained really well. Not too crowded. Excellent place to spend some quality time with loved ones when in Parry Sound.
A beautiful and well-kept beach with excellent amenities. The playground provides a fun area for children, and the washroom facilities were clean and accessible. The overall environment felt safe, tidy, and welcoming — ideal for families looking for a relaxing day outdoors.
This is an incredibly beautiful public beach on a well defined public walking trail. Brilliant work by the Town of Parrt Sound to create this access! Great for biking, running or walking the dog. Amazing vistas of the lake and lots of little spots to go off trail and explore. Two beaches we saw were super nice. Also on this Waterfront trail see a base for Canadian Coast Guard and home to a performing arts centre.
Amazon beach if you’re staying near Perry sound.
Looking for a place to spend an afternoon with family and kids? Here is a goto one. We found it a clean kids safe beach area. Clean toiletes and a goergeous walkway to enjoy a beautiful Georgian Bay view. We loved this park.
We stopped here for our kids aged 2 and 5 as a pit stop. There is plenty of parking, washrooms, a sandy beach with life guards, a playground (playscape, 2 3 slides, swings) as well as hiking paths. It is not crowded and you can walk out onto a point by crossing a small wooden bridge. There are also 2 benches out on the rocks so you can really get a beautiful view of the lake. There are also anchors that are placed for viewing with historical significance.
Nice view lots of grass and sandy areas. Come early to get a parking spot. Could use 12 more picnic tables. They should install some bbqs. More share required. AVOID THIS BEACH ON SUNDAYS!!! Extremely loud and busy church service takes place there. These people take over the whole park. It's better to goto another town to swim on Sundays.
Great park for picnics, watching the sunset, and just relaxing. If you plan on staying during or past sunset, make sure you have mosquito repellent 🙂

Peter took the time to share a presentation on bees and show actual examples of a hive and equipment. Once all our questions were answered we tried local honey before heading out to their hives. Outside we were able to get up close and personal to each hive and see their path in and out. The artwork on the hives provided by local schools was a nice touch as well. Although no $$ are needed for this event it’s always nice to contribute through donation to keep local attractions such as this alive.

Absolutely stunning view of Parry Sound. It’s a long trip up the many stairs but well worth it! The gardens are beautiful and so well maintained. We did not go to the museum as the reviews were not too good and didn’t seem worth the $5 each entry fee. If you’re in Parry Sound, this is a nice stop in!
Beautiful place to watch the sunset and smell the flowers 💐 If you wonder around the gardens pathways, you'll find all sorts of cute butterfly 🦋 benches. The fish pond is a great touch to the garden.
The current incarnation of the Tower Hill Heritage Garden has grown from the personal passion project of Peter McEwen District Forester. Surrounding the foot of the tower are many beautiful gardens, a little pond, and winding pathways. Benches, chairs, and picnic tables provide spaces for rest and contemplation. Periwinkle Woods provides a lovely little shady walk on the hillside. August 21, 2024 F & J
Awesome find! Beautiful gardens with flowers I've not seen in most gardens, great sculptures used in useful ways like seating. The tower offers a great view .
What a beautiful hidden gem. We stumbled across this wonderful park while out on a day trip visiting my dad's hometown of Parry Sound. The museum was unfortunately closed for a private event, however, we will come back to check it out. The grounds are beautifully kept. A very peaceful park to visit and enjoy.
Lovely gardens surrounding the tower. Variety of pine, fir trees with many different flowers of all colors. Inviting benches surrounding water feature. View from the tower is exceptional. Nice view of our Viking cruise ship. You dont have to go all the way up for a good view... halfway is perfect! Not far from the railroad trestle. Highly recommended!
A very simple operation. The people working at the museum are doing a fantastic job. Very interesting to learn of the local heritage. We went up the tower to a spectacular view of the surrounding area.
Well taken care of, beautiful garden area! The tower is clean and safe for family. Next to the museum so lots of cool old tools and machines to see outside. Amazing view of Perry sound

Magical Nordic skiing at this place. Very friendly, family oriented staff, plus the ski and bike trails are amazing. Money well spent!!
Very scenic technical trails over rock and boulder surfaces. Not much flow but fun trails. No features. SO MANY mosquitoes and horse flies. Trails are all rated black, but they aren't very hard, I put them at blue. Signage isn't great, and the only trail map is for the nordic/double track, so bring TrailForks. There are no staff, you pay at a terminal, so it's open 24/7.
Great place to do some cool winter activities like snow shoeing, cross country skiing and fat biking. Some of the scenic treks are medium to difficult level. One shortfall of this place is that they have only 3-4 fat bikes available to rent which is less for a larger group of people. Overall the place is very well maintained for other winter specific activities and we had a fun time during our visit!!
Ive been skiing here for 6 years now. Typically, weeknights to avoid the crowds. The trails are always well groomed. The grooming team here does a phenomenal job. The snowshoe trails here are really good and easy to follow. The cross country skiing is absolutely amazing. The trails are super well laid out .
Gorgeous trails. Too bad it is already Spring conditions. The ladies in the clubhouse were so friendly and helpful. Definitely worth the drive for the day from the city. I wish their signage was more clear. I find all of the names and numbers confusing and the trails are not labelled with them. At the junctions they don't tell you which way to turn for which trail. They just have maps that say you are here. Sometimes I didn't even know if I was going the right way. At least you know if you stay on the trail you'll eventually end up back at the sign for the trailhead.
Loved my time here! There a variety of trails for all levels. They are well marked. The scenery is very beautiful. The little lodge offers rentals, indoor bathrooms and a place to eat your packed lunch. Alternatively sit outside by their the fire pit.
Beautiful piece of nature with clearly & creatively marked trail signs. Beautiful spot for a fall hike and foraging.
Had a wonderful hike there, beautiful scenery, outstanding forest views, peaceful and quiet. Trails are essentially flat and wide and easy to traverse. We will be back

The absolute best experience!! You get to sample every beer to start. Atmosphere is so inviting. We ate there as well and the special was cabbage rolls...best I've ever had! Every beer was so smooth. We will be back. Family run business and the owner is so passionate and friendly.
Made a trip out to Norse while we were camping up in Killbear. Food was delicious! Beer was super tasty! Staff are pretty friendly. Clean space, clean bathrooms. Fun wooden puzzles at the table. We ate inside but there is a large outdoor area with tables and seating. It's a bit overgrown, but still people were enjoying the outdoors. Will definitely come back next time we're in the area.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hidden Gem! What an amazing place! This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and perfect for a relaxed meal with family or friends. The food is absolutely delicious — you can really taste the quality in the fresh produce. Every dish was packed with flavor and clearly made with care. The beer? 10/10. Whether you’re a casual drinker or a craft beer enthusiast, you won’t be disappointed. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming, which adds to the overall charm of the place. It’s rare to find somewhere that gets everything right — food, drinks, vibe, and service. Highly recommend!
Norse does only a few things: beer and burgers, but it does them both SO well. We love the attention down to the seasoning on the fries and the thematic norse decor and wooden puzzles on the table. Definitely worth a date night in Musloka 😊.
This is an absolute must stop when traveling between Perry Sound and Sudbury. Very nice outside seating area with planty of space for big groups. It doesn't look like much from far but as soon as you pull into the parking you will be glad you did. This is a family owned and operated business. The owner, Alexander, his wife are sweet and welcoming people that will go out of their way to make your visit pleasant. They don't make a ton of different beers, only four core brews... and guess what, they were all excellent. we grabbed all to go as well. The food was delicious 😋 not a huge menu but the burgers are fantastic 👌 Fries were awesome as well and everything is served with multiple sauces. Not visiting this area a lot, but will be stopping here every time I am on hwy 69.
We finally got to eat at this little amazing brewery!! My brother and sister in-law mentioned how good it was, based on their cycling friends experience - so we had to try it out ourselves. The menu is very limited (burgers and chicken strips) - although they have specials that they post on their Facebook page. The food is absolutely delicious- the three of us all had burgers -- and they were the BEST burgers I have eaten is a very long time-- the burgers were cooked perfectly and the toppings were fresh and absolutely delicious!! We tested a flight of beer and went with a Red and a Sour selection -- all of them were very good - depending on your individual palette. The owner is a cool guy who truly cares about the customer experience, with quality food, great service and terrific tasting beers. I definitely recommend this place. We will be back!!!
My wife and I did a tour of the micro breweries in the Muskokas. Norse was our favourite. The beer was fantastic, and the burger might be the best we’ve ever had. Highly recommend stopping at Norse for a bite and brew.
This is our favourite stop on highway 69. The beer is great, especially the blonde. They also have very good burgers and fries including a good vegetarian option. There's comfortable seating inside and outside. The staff are very friendly. It's easy to miss because it's off the highway and the building is unassuming on the outside, but inside it's really nice. Definitely worth a stop if you're passing through.

The highlight of a retired couples week is grocery shopping. NoFrills Parry Sound makes our day even better
The complex is decent but the layout is wierd. The new bowling alley is nice to see.
So.... qualified 5 stars.... im rating this place not as a mall but rather as a location to chill out while you let your 2 year old run free. Boxing week and this place is dead. Most of the lights are turned off and it is just the most pleasant place to sit on a bench and relax while your two year old climbs around the kiddie rides and explores the random junk stored in the main hall way. I think about 5 people came through in about an hour and a half, which is great cause there's almost no way to lose a kid in a crowd. Also, the health unit hands out free water test kits, which is great cause i just got a new well drilled and i needed to do that anyway. This would also be a great place to hang out and write music in near total privacy. The acoustics are great.
Gas groceries Tim Hortons Burger King Popeyes Louisiana Chicken and more not to forget Hart Department Store
Parry Sound Ontario doesn't have a mall, It use to a few years ago, but the lazy owners didn't keep repairs up, there use to be a hair dresser, Lanes family pharmacy was there, Northern Reflections. Jewelry store, etc etc. stores within the mall got fed up with leaky roofing, Rain pouring in soaking merchandise, etc. So SAD.
Not much going on here anymore. Hearts department store is cheaper than Walmart if you are looking for home decor etc.
The one store we wanted to go into was closed due to a leak in the ceiling which of course is not their fault but there were many empty stores at this location I'm only giving it a 3 out of 5 because we didn't find what we were looking for but otherwise it was a nice clean Mall and I recommend going there if there is a store open that you're interested in purchasing product
I went to HART. I've got to learn to go there more! I forget about them..they've got mattresses for gawds sake !!

Bought a beautiful garlic keeper and mug. Definitely check it out if you’re in the area. Barb’s work is beautiful and there is a great selection. Her and her husband were super helpful, and dog joe is a wonderful greeter! Thank you Toad Hill. We will treasure our wares for a long time to come, and be back to visit next time!
Great little shop, worth fair prices and nice quality work
Love the quality and character of the pottery. Will most certainly return when in the area. Amazing property will beautiful gardens as well.
Great service, fair prices and excellent quality!
Satisfied customers I returned to this business

Lovely location at water's edge. No overnight parking here but was told RVs can park free at Bobby Orr arena. Staff friendly and helpful.
The visitor centre part of the building is lacking. There were no brochures on the boat ride that we were planning to do even though it was happening the day we were there. Also, the person at the counter was not very helpful giving us information - she just directed us to the brochure area that had missing brochures. The person at the counter also suggested that we go see the “friends of”/ biosphere science centre (forgot the actual name of the place) downtown but it ended up being a building with offices and people were wondering why I was coming in. Obviously this was not a building to visit.
Went for information on area as well as accommodations. The list provided was not up to date and some places had gone out of business 2 years ago! Also didnt know much beyond Parry Sound and had no usual pamphlets and such as found in typical tourist infor center. Not a great experience and we wasted a lot of time trying to figure things out so use Google instead.
Couldnt actually find the visitor info desk in the building?
