Victoria Park has always been a beautiful place to visit, and being open to the public year round you can't go wrong regardless of what season we are in. We visited a couple of weeks ago after a fresh snowfall, it was quiet and quite the sight covered in a blanket of snow. Though be careful, the trails aren't maintained during the winter season and it can be quite icy on the upper paths in comparison to the lower ones. *Parts of the trail have been damaged by a recent storm and are no longer accessible until they have been repaired. These sections are blocked off with signage and become obvious as you approach with massive pieces of the trail crumbling down the cliffside or the trail suddenly becoming blocked off by massive trees that have uprooted and toppled over onto one another.
A very large park with a reservoir in the middle. Lots of hiking and cycling trails. There are benches here to sit, but they are not as often as it would like. There are several interesting points, but by the time you get to them you will get tired, so this park is more about active recreation or just walking around to relax from the city. Overall, a very nice place... Both my wife and I agreed that we can endlessly make photos(me) and paint(she) pictures because it has a lot of interesting "small nature spots". Definitely worth a visit. We spent half a day in this park. And there is free parking at the entrance to the park.
Victoria Park is a true gem in Truro! The massive park has trails that take hikers up to the top where the waterfall is situated through a very long Jacob’s Ladder. We were lucky to visit during the fall foliage although the waterfall only had a small stream at this time. There is also a kids playground and ball diamond at the base of the park. As well as a large outdoor pool that was closed after the summer season.
Victoria Park is a hidden gem! This beautiful park offers a range of amenities, including a playground, music stage, and ample car parking. The stunning hill and trees create a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to unwind and connect with nature. And to make it even better, they offered free burgers and soft drinks the day we visited! Highly recommended for a serene escape from the city!
**Great Park with Stunning Features** Victoria Park is a fantastic destination for families and outdoor enthusiasts. It boasts a large playground and a designated barbecue area, making it ideal for picnics and gatherings. The park features an extensive trail path perfect for hiking, offering breathtaking views of the amazing waterfront. Whether you're looking to enjoy a day out with the kids or take in the natural beauty, Victoria Park has something for everyone.
Beautiful park with loads and loads of different trails to walk. Some on hard ground, some on dirt, and some on timber walkways. Also some lovely little waterfalls with pools you can take a dip in. The grounds were beautifully maintained. A real hidden gem in the city.
Victoria Park is gorgeous. Beautiful well kept walking paths and lawns. Lots of picnic tables for families or couples. Picnic on the grass in shade along the streams running alongside the walkway. There's a swimming pool. Pickle balls courts, play areas for kids, music bandstand, BBQ area is covered and with screens to keep out the bugs! Oh wait! There's many trails to choose from along with Jacobs Ladder! I dare ya to try it 😁
This is an amazing place for anyone who wants to spend a day admist nature. Although it was very hot almost 28 degrees, we didn't feel it as there were lots of trees and the sunlight hardly reaches the floor. Lots of picnic tables where you can enjoy your food and hear the soothing sound of water flowing and many small water falls. You can also take your stroller upto certain areas. Had a great time exploring it with my kids.

I went there to charge my car and found out this was a fascinating and educational place. I had a great time. The employee was exceptional helpful. She helped me to make Burntcoat Head Park my next stop. Otherwise, I would have missed this great park.
Nice, tidy area with great views of the Bay Of Fundy tidal bore. Lovely area for a family picnic but not much else. The tides came in at 7:15, but the public bathrooms that were advertised as being open until 8:00 PM were closed when staff left for the day. Many seniors tried to use them! Worth a visit.
Very nice discovery center to watch and learn about Tidal bores. Staff were very proactive and even approach you on their own and ask if we need any assistance. They bring lot of positive vibes to an already a great place to sit and watch nature's beauty at play. Just check their website and try to be there 15-20 minutes ahead of time since tide may arrive few minutes off here and there. This is pretty close to the highway and there are plenty of signs so you won't miss it. Washroom was very clean. There are also free concerts in summer that you may want to check out
I live outside Truro and drive by this place all the time, I thought it was just a visitor information centre. I stopped in to charge by vehicle and it's actually an amazing spot. There's a great playground for kids, an amphitheatre, clean washrooms, large sheltered picnic area, and a walking trail along the Salmon River to watch the tidal bore.
We were planning a day of Fundy on our way home to NJ from the south shores of Nova Scotia so we called the Discovery site for information and recommendations. We spoke with Kathy who was super helpful and gave us a ton of info and suggestions. We knew exactly when to get there and an idea of what we'd see. At the site, we introduced ourselves to Kathy and thanked her for her help on the phone. There were also a couple of lovely young women working there, showing super educational informational videos and walking around outside asking if people had questions as we waited for the tidal bore. They also gave us an excellent lunch suggestion (Masstown Market). The arrival of the actual bore was heralded by Kathy "here it comes!" Thanks to the videos and Kathy's helpful and patient answers we had a much better understanding of what was happening and why. She also gave us excellent local info tips on doing the scenic Fundy drive, illustrated personally with the current road work detour, a big star for the do-not-miss cheese place, and highlighted points of interest. To top it all off, there was a bagpiper ringing in the tidal bore! Kathy brings him in for special occasions or really great tides. The weather was beautiful and hot, there are tons of seats and viewing points, we learned a bunch of stuff and we were lucky enough to be there for a bagpiper - worthy tide. Overall 10/10 experience with a great and knowledgeable staff. If you're in the area, plan your visit to include a stop here for tidal bore viewing. Make sure you check the time table for Truro Nova Scotia 😁
Cool location where you can watch tidal bore. Their website has schedule for the bore, but it can be off a little bit. I saw tide change about 10 minutes before posted schedule. The guide in the building seems to know if there's any difference based on tidal bore time of prior days.
Check the tide schedule and pop in just a few minutes before "The Bore" is to take place. An easy pitstop 1 minute off the highway to add to another trip.
Wonderful location, Clean washrooms, great playgrounds for the kids. Just a great space overall

My husband and I came here from out of town in hopes to solve a long standing family mystery and was successful in our search because of the incredible help from Ryan, Janica, Joanne, and Jason. The team spent approximately 4 hours with us eagerly searching the archives - we didn't even realize how long we had spent there until we left! They even offered to send/sell us a book that has significance to my family that is difficult for us out-of-towners to locate/purchase. So kind! Not only will we forever remember this experience for the information that we gathered, but for the fun that we had with them completing this search too. Highly recommend visiting if you have family from Colchester County, and then donating to keep this wonderful place alive! Big thank you to everyone who helps to upkeep this museum!
Great place to learn the history of the area. Small gallery that requires a lot of reading but is well put together. The staff was amazing and informative.
Small but packed with many interesting exhibits. Small entry charge but worth it as the guide was excellent.
This place is so rich of details about our past. People working at the archives are amazing storytellers of our past. Their passion can be easily feeled through every aspect they cover. Big thanks to them.
I am a From-Very-Far-Away! Now that Nova Scotia is home I am interested in understanding how, socio-economically speaking, NS and its people got to where they are. This Museum is a great place to learn. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff.
Wonderful place, full of magic and local history. Exhibits are very entertaining. Building is a heritage site and should be visited (all floors!). Great place to research the local archives and find fascinating information on local family history. Have always found the staff to be pleasant and helpful. Have visited it several times. Especially enjoyed the Acadian displays during the Acadian festival years ago.
I very much enjoyed my visit, but I would like to have seen a much broader selection of original artifacts on display -- rather than so many text-heavy interpretative panels and reproductions of historic photographs.
Great museum. Wonderful hockey exhibit. Friendly people, nice small gift shop.

This was the first place I visited (apart from the grocery store and my residence) once I reached NS. Great place with a great history. You can find a staff there who is very humble and polite and ready to answer every question. Have a great time visiting NS❤
Stated it was open Wednesdays but it wasn't. Would be helpful if website and signage not reflective of hour of operation.
being a student of NSCC Truro (the property where it sits), I can honestly say it's small, but very informative, great experience for a quick stop while exploring the town of Truro nova Scotia.
I’m a teacher so this is up my alley.
Good for a short stop between Halifax and Antigonish. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Enjoyed by our parents, who’ve attended similar style schools.
They open only summer time. Do not go there in winter..

Beautiful, welcoming library! A wonderful mixture of historical architecture and modern facilities, collections and community services!
Reconditioned old building, beautifully done, but i didnt find people/staffs that friendly. Also not good for studying, too loud.
Hubtown Tours NS recently hosted 2 guests from Connecticut who were quite impressed with the Civic Square, and especially the library. We don't always realize how lucky we are until we see the town through someone else's eyes.
Hours are very inconvenient for working people. Can’t go there before work and have to race back most days to make it after work. Also closed Sundays which means Saturday is the only convenient day.
First off, I think the ressources at this library are absolutely phenomenal: books, media, computers, meeting spaces, games events etc etc. It's renovated and welcoming. However, the reason I give 3* is as opposed to other libraries, there does not seem any rules or control on the levels of sound around the library. People conversing, kids yelling, the occasional disturbance, events in open spaces. It makes it very difficult to focus on studies, read or work. I would hope the library would take this feedback and adjust the rules in common areas as it can be frustrating at times. But other than that, great location, I love going!
A beautiful children's section with thoughtful design elements to make it easy to bring kids here.
Wonderful staff! thank you for having our all ages chess club! We love books they will never go out of style! Thanks for all your hard work over the pandemic to keep books available for the kids! Much gratitude!
This “new” library is a beautiful renovated space that has been creatively designed to feature old mixing with new additions seamlessly. My favorite part is how the triple window arches are now doorways to the new section leading from the cathedral center of the building allowing a sense of lighted symmetry. The library also works hard to create programming for its clientele. If you like architecture, it’s worth a visit, and if you love reading, you’ll find lots of choices to stimulate your brain. :-)

Standard outlet store, in a sweet old brick building. 2nd runs and odd sizes at a good price. Can't return anything, it's plastered all over the store. I'm assuming the 1 star review guy meant to post about the other store in town. But then most places don't accept returns on undies.
Purchased I pack of briefs.tried to return them for another larger size and they told me they don't accept returns. I just wanted a larger size as I realized they would not fit me.Cost me almost $30.00for a package of briefs which I returned to them and advised them they never told me I could not return them. It's their policy no return and money also. I threw them on the window sill and left . I will never go there again with that stupid policy as they were never worn at all.
Second time visiting the factory outlet - all kinds of clothing, including some great deals on “seconds”, or discontinued lines. I love that I can buy t shirts, underwear and clothing MADE IN CANADA! Keep up the great work!
Happy to say that I own about 9 pieces of Stanfield clothing. Unfortunately, my recent purchase of the merino wool top and bottom base layer clothing has me somewhat disappointed. These items come with a higher than average price tag for base layer garments, therefore I thought I was getting something to last me years. Within a year and a half the clothing started falling apart. It's now been two years since I received them and they have so many pieces of material coming apart I will no longer be able to wear them soon. Very disappointed. I have reached out to Stanfield via email with no response. Would not recommend the merino wool base layers. Everything else I own from them is top quality and working great as expected with their name.
The review I made a while back was for this outlet store not the take it outside. Yes still expensive for outlet store. Never shopped in expensive outlet. In Ontario if it s an outlet it a like 60 per cent off the regular store not just a few dollars off. For example the sketcher shoe store they were asking 125. 00 dollars for this one pair of shoes. We went to the outlet and got it for 45.00 dollars. That is what the outlet store does for your wallet. I was surprised that in a small city like truro where people are not very rich but most businesses charge so much money. Even small towns in Québec have stores like Korvett and sells merchandise for cheaper than here.
This mainly a factory seconds store but the do have a selection of first rate items too. The store is quaint and a step back in time. The staff are wonderful ladies that make the experience. Some outstanding deals to be had.
Oh my goodness! Go and visit! The staff are so friendly and happy to show new people around the whole store which could also totally pass as a museum. And the deals!! I got a brand new long sleeve shirt for just two bucks and a pair of long underwear for just five bucks! I also saw the cool red Stanfield's long underwear pajamas for less than forty bucks at the Outlet. I'll definitely be back! Thank you :)
If I could rate less than one star I would. I purchased 6 pairs of briefs for $150. Two came with massive holes and the other four didn’t last a year. The company has never acknowledged my complaint.

Nuri is a wonderful Spanish teacher - the classes are fun and the curriculum is logical and organized. The small class sizes allow all students the chance to participate (a lot!) and practice speaking and dialogue. Online classes during the pandemic were just as engaging. Classes usually take place in the Visual Voice gallery, which is a lovely little space. I always take time after class to look at whatever fascinating collection of local art Nuri has curated. I have learned so much already and look forward to more. Thank you Nuri!
I am so excited to have started Spanish lessons with Nuri. After only 3 classes I can see that being fluent in Spanish is no longer a dream, but a reality! The Wednesday morning online classes are so convenient, structured yet casual, focussed yet fun. Nuri es una excelente profesora de español.
Nuri is extremely personable and positive arranging a class of beginner artists. I just completed a beginners abstract art taught by Barbara that was open and fun. I learned many facets and basic painting techniques for Abstract art that will aid in my own compositions and appreciate other's creations/
Great gallery showcasing artists from Nova Scotia. There are also concerts and other events. Worth visiting!

Nice little fenced dog park. Grass, one way pea gravel path. Garbage cans, poop bags and separate small dog area with a bench under a tree. Pond was a little muddy and dried up in July. Easy parking. Just off 102 Hwy. Perfect for a little stretch. Happy dog!
Good sized off leash park, there are different areas for large and small dogs. Small pond in the larger section for dogs to take a dip
Nice lil park. Ran into a few friendly people. Nothing unusual there, I always seem to run into nice people at dog parks. However I did not like the dirty pool of water in the center of the park. Made my dog stink and be all dirty, had to wipe him down before he got back in the van. I will not bring my dog here again. 3 star park here.
This is an awesome place to let your dog run free. We loved it!
3 different fences areas, one for small dogs, one with a. Trail around a little pond and another with lots of trees and area to throw balls and toys. People are friendly. Easy parking.
Fully fenced with two sections, one for small dogs and one for large. Off leash, two dogs per handler. Waste bins and poop bags at the park.
My dog was bitten here by a large golden doodle who was accompanied by a red Australian Shepard mix and a large man who is their owner. He noted they are commonly aggressive and did not seem surprised that the doodle bit my dog. If you see this group of thugs, ask them to leave. beware!
Dogs had a blast on the small dog run. Large dog run looks great. Nice place to stop

We recently visited River Breeze Corn Maze and Farm and had an excellent experience. The fields of sunflowers and zinnias were beautiful and very well maintained, offering vibrant scenery that is perfect for both enjoying nature and capturing memorable photos. The farm also provides a variety of photo booth options throughout the sunflower fields, which added a creative and enjoyable touch to our visit. One feature we really appreciated was the convenience of purchasing tickets early online, often at discounted prices. This made planning our visit much easier and more affordable, especially for families. This location is ideal for flower picking and for those who appreciate photography. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the setting truly made our sunflower day special. Another advantage is the convenient location—only about 1.5 to 2 hours away from Dieppe and Moncton—which makes it a great option for a day trip. Overall, River Breeze Corn Maze and Farm is a lovely destination for families, couples, or anyone who enjoys flowers, photography, and spending time outdoors. Highly recommended.
I feel very misled by the “Flower Festival.” It is not really a festival at all, it’s just a U-Pick field, and on top of the entrance fee you still have to pay separately for the flowers you pick. There are no activities, no attractions, and nothing for families or children to do. I purchased tickets for myself, my husband, and my 5-year-old daughter expecting a family-friendly experience, but there was absolutely nothing for her. The flowers themselves were very small, and the field wasn’t well designed for picking (no walking lanes, unlike last year). It was a huge disappointment. Last year I visited in October for the Fall Festival and it was completely different pumpkins, U-Pick flowers, lots of kids’ activities, it was wonderful. This year, we paid the same amount for tickets and got nothing comparable. When I asked if we could transfer our tickets to the Fall Festival, I was told no. They don’t seem to care about loyal customers or families who support them year after year. I cannot recommend this “festival” to anyone. It feels like they are misleading people with the word festival when in reality it’s just a basic U-Pick field.
River breeze farm is a lovely little place, the price is a little high, as are most things. The lines were super long for food the last time we were there. Over all it was an alright day. The kids got to have some family time and that’s really what we went for.
Had a great day looking at all the beautiful flowers and picking our own bouquet.
Fun place to spend time. Kids surely can have a great time.
We went to fear farm tonight and it was fantastic! It exceeded expectations big time. I recommend buying VIP tickets to skip the lines. They are well worth it. What an amazing event!!! Great job to the organizers, security, and the actors.
Went to the Fear Farm attraction over the weekend and we were highly impressed! Our group had an amazing time — the props, atmosphere, and staff were all fantastic. One person in our group was using a cane due to a recent injury, and another member has MS (it was actually their cane being borrowed). Standing in long lines can be difficult for them both, but an employee kindly approached us and mentioned that Melissa had said to find the group with the cane and offer VIP access for the corn mazes. We later met Melissa herself, and she was an absolute delight! Thanks to her kindness and the team’s thoughtfulness, we were able to experience both mazes, something that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise. We truly appreciated how accommodating and considerate the staff were. Fear Farm exceeded our expectations and made our spooky night even more special!
I got lost in the corn maze, and loved it! Petting zoo, a tubing slide (so much fun) a ton of attractions. I’m going back for the pumpkin picking, haunted houses and haunted corn maze…. There better be a guy chasing me with a chainsaw….. and the smash burgers are delicious 🤤

Nice walking path around the pond. Usually a few people there. Great place to get some exercise or have a picnic. No feeding the ducks though... 😒
