My boyfriend and I came for the night snowshoeing, and it was fantastic! Aiden welcomed us and was so friendly and helpful at the information booth! His attitude made me so excited and he helped us every step of the way! The trail was really easy to walk and loved the night aspect of it. The trail isn’t as lit as the skating loop but you are given a head lamp to help you see! We really enjoyed it! Was a nice loop, and loved the views. I have gone previous to do the skating loop which is a favourite of mine but if you have the option to do both, do both!
Went here with my girls for my bachelorette party and had a great time! We did the tour which was really interesting and then enjoyed wine and food. The pretzels were the best!Overall we had a great time and I would love to come back again during harvest season to see the bogs filled up!
The staff were amazing — from the friendly lady at the reception, to the staff member at the cranberry plunge pool, the kind lady at the shop, and the gentleman who gave us great suggestions for places to eat. Everyone was so knowledgeable and taught us so much about the cranberry fields. I definitely want to come back again! I loved the time I spent here, and their cranberries are absolutely delicious.
My boyfriend and I visited Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery today, and we had the best time! We began our day with Bob's guided wagon tour of the farm. Bob is worth the price of admission alone - he is hilarious - and made teaching us about the workings of the cranberry farm a lot of fun, as well as informative. Browsing through the gift shop, with its rustic charm and cranberry-themed everything, was a unique and fun experience. We sipped samples of wine and fresh cranberry juice, while enjoying our day in the crisp autumn air at this welcoming and relaxing farm in Bala ON.
Visiting Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery was one of the highlights of my Muskoka trip! Nestled among beautiful cranberry field, the place offers a wonderful mix of nature, local flavor, and authentic Muskoka hospitality. The cranberry bog walk was fascinating — it’s not every day you get to see how cranberries are harvested, and the staff do an amazing job explaining the process. The wines are delicious and different ofcourse as they are not traditional wines made of grapes—yet they are light, refreshing, and full of character and at a very affordable price. The on-site café and shop also have great treats. If you visit in the fall, the Cranberry Harvest is a must-see specially during the Cranberry festival weekend.
You won me over from the moment I spotted the old truck beside your cranberry patch! THEN, a lovely senior playing guitar and singing. Nice first impression! We had just had our lunch elsewhere so we were unable to take advantage of the great little snack shop and stay for a set. We were looking for a red & a white wine to take to our hosts for dinner. One of the lovely ladies spent ten minutes with us explaining the background, preferences and suggestions. We bought two for our hosts, two to take home and a bottle of portage that I plan to use in my famous butter tarts soon. Highly recommend the gem in the forest.
I am giving this place 1 star. I went yesterday and it was the first time I experienced racism in my life and it was by 1 of their employees. Their website is also awful for not explaining the times for the activities when you buy an all access pass. What happened? Boyfriend and I are visibly minorities. There's no doubt about our backgrounds when you see us. I am latina and boyfriend is black. I bought 2 all access passes. The girl at Information was able to get us both for 3pm for the wagon ride (she was awesome). When we got there that's when we found out that since our wagon ride was at 3p the wine tasting was at 3:30p and the plunge was for 4:30p and we couldnt change those times. Our tour bus was leaving at 4:30p. We walked to the plunge. At 2:30p the lady came and asked the 1st couple for their time slot. They said theirs was for 3:30p. Lady said that's fine they can join the 2:30p plunge. We were next. I explained ours was for 4:30 and we cant do the plunge for 4:30 because our bus leaves at 4:30p. Lady said, no. They were all booked up and had no spots. NO SPOTS AT ALL. Just no. (I mean 2 just opened up for 3:30p). I was very shocked. It was clear what was happening. I've never experienced this before and we walked away and I tried to forget it. This was the lady who was thin/average size, black and white hair, wavy/curly, about my height maybe a bit shorter (5"5). I didn't get her name. I should have. I honestly tried to think of other reasons why it was an instant no for us but a yes for the white couple before us. Racism is really the only answer. We should have been able to atleast take that couples time slot if the time slots were full. I can honestly say I will never visit again. I will be reaching out to the bus tour company about the situation as well as I think they should know what their customers are experiencing and should consider another location if possible. Everyone else was really nice and friendly, except that 1 lady. Unfortunately it takes 1 person to ruin an experience. I will also reach out to the company and send them an email and request their employees receive training.
Lovely place but unfriendly service. The woman staff member yelled at the visitor, who had to wash their hands after touching the cranberry, as it had a smell on their hands. That's why we want to wash our hands. No information on where to wash hands, and it's not really 30 minutes in the Cranberry plunge, just 15 minutes. The staff in the shop isn't friendly either.

Absolutely phenomenal Mother’s Day brunch! Emma, our server, and all the staff were kind, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The food was next-level—new head chef Joe is clearly bringing his A-game. The prime rib was cooked to perfection: tender, juicy, and full of flavour. The homemade chicken and waffles were a true highlight—crispy, comforting, and bursting with goodness. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. A truly memorable experience—we can’t wait to come back!
Course in great shape. It's a tough track, takes some thinking for shot placement and you must be accurate going into the greens, or you will be punished. We loved it.
Amazing golf course and excellent patio lunch. Enjoyed a delicious Swiss mushroom burger overlooking the 10th hole. Thank you to Madi for the recommendation and friendly service.
We try to eat at the rock a few times a month. It's amazing, the food is outstanding. The staff goes above and beyond. It's a hidden gem! This was my lunch today. Great value as well.
Had an absolute blast at the course. One of the best courses I’ve played on, super scenic, and well worth it. Once we finished our round of golf the girls, (Maddy and Paige) allowed us to still grab food and drinks even though they were closing up. So seriously thank you girls! They deserve a pay raise!
Course is in excellent shape despite the dry weather, huge shoutout to the grounds crew! Staff was super friendly and everything was very well organized from start to finish. No complaints at all. Great value too: $200 for 2 juniors and 1 adult with a cart. We’ll definitely be back!
This golf course is absolutely gorgeous and kept in pristine condition. Insanely difficult track though. Good thing I played like a tour stick, but it was difficult to watch my friends get beat up like that.
Great golf course aslong as you are ok with a challenge. Leaving your ego at that door and playing the proper tees based on your skill level is paramount to enjoying your day.

Saw Billy Talent here for the first time and was my first time visiting the venue as well. Finding parking was an absolute breeze and the venue itself is unique and really has that Muskoka appeal. The staff were incredible that night, most notably security, who were certainly on anyone who unfortunately couldn't handle their liquor or were ruining the experience for others. The service staff at the bar were cute, friendly and very quick as well. A+ to the entire Kee team. Can't wait to come back again for another show in the future
Awesome venue for shows we saw Billy Talent. Sound quality was awesome. You can get real close to the artists, practically front row. The only complaint I really had was that the AC was not cold enough, it was a sweat lodge in there.
My boyfriend bought me tickets to see Shaggy for my birthday. A few days before the show I broke my foot. We contacted the venue and they went above and beyond to accommodate me. I was able to enter into the venue before anyone else, and they seated me in an accessibility section with a chair. Thank you so much for allowing me to Still see a concert. I’ve been waiting so long for. Such a great venue. (Despite the heat 😜)
Absolutely legendary. TheKee may not look glamorous, but the history, the sound, the views and hell you can literally touch the stage. Awesome time was had by all, if you ever get the chance, make the trip up, and enjoy! But bring some bug spray, my god the mosquitos are relentless when you wait in line.
First time at The KEE to Bala, saw Mother Mother. Security was on top of everything, very organized. Highly recommended visiting, and to check out the venue before the show starts. Nice deck overlooking the water outside at the back. I got general admission balcony tickets, which were considered ‘VIP.’ Camera doesn’t do the view justice, stage looks further away in the video. Lots of windows open up there (great for when it’s hot). Our own washrooms were clean. Multiple kinds of seating available, such as mini picnic table type seats, high top tables and chairs, a lounge area with cushioned seats. Only con is the black flies while waiting outside for the doors to open.
I went to see “James Barker Band” and it was great besides the heat wave. We had balcony tickets so we were able to skip the massive line for GA at 8pm. A opener band came on around 9pm. James Barker Band came on at 10:20pm. Suggestion for next time, go straight for the balcony once inside. Then stay there until the artist come on stage. Theres a bar outside and its a way to breath before the heat inside gets you. They do have a capacity limit for the balcony so once they let you on, stay as long as you can. As the lineup to get back onto the balcony, takes up part of the building. We didn’t bother waiting in the line again, but once the line cleared when the artist came on at 10:20pm we could walk outside. Balcony tickets were nice for the short drink lines and bathrooms. Stick to the south side of the balcony where the most windows are. Theres booths for grabs for people to sit at as groups come and go. It’s mostly sitting and an older crowd on the balcony. Downstairs is where the dancing is.
I have not been to The Kee in years, saw Mother Mother here recently. Not much has change from what I remember. Decent sound quality & lighting. A few comments: black flies were terrible when waiting in line, I would recommend not showing up until 1/2hr after doors open so you don’t have to wait out front. They were not as bad out back on the patio for some reason. In future I would probably get a balcony seat; found by the end of the show my neck was getting stiff/sore looking up from the floor to the tall stage. Also, cash is not accepted, debit or credit only.
Great place for a concert for a band you love. Saw the wallflowers and was a great concert. Small intimate venue. Great spot on the water in Bala

Really happy with the experience. Sierra gave me a great manicure and pedicure--she's attentive, easy to talk to, and delivered excellent results :) No complaints with the amenities--pool, spa, sauna, salt room all in great condition. You won't need to go looking for basics like towels and water because they keep them readily available, and they also think of the little things, like plastic bags to bring your wet swimsuit home. 100% recommend!
Highlights - able to get a fairly last minute appointment - one of the best massages (Mark) that I’ve had - incredible views -even saw a deer right beside the outdoor sauna - massages chair was great - friendly staff Suggestions for spa - have more substantial food available for those planning to stay awhile - update outdoor hot tub & add cold plunge - oxygen bar: Whole thing felt a bit awkward. Maybe someone to explain it more and different seating. The stool I was in seemed like I was sliding off and wasn’t comfortable.
Overall this is a nice spa to visit if you are in the area. My RMT massage therapist was great and got all the knots and tension out. They have a waiting room with views of the lake, provide robes, snacks and tea before a treatment. The women's change room has lockers, steam room, sauna and hot tub. Downstairs they have relaxation rooms with salt and an oxygen bar. Outside there is a private pool, loungers,a hammock, an outdoor hot tub, cold plunge shower and a sauna. If you get a massage or a treatment, the amenities are included for the day, otherwise it's $100. I personally think it's worth it if you get a treatment or a massage vs using it only as a day spa - go early to make the most of it. This resort also has access to a private beach and the lake for guests. I was lucky that the spa was pretty much empty when I went so I had the place to myself and enjoyed my time there.
My wife and I had a great day at HydroSpa Muskoka. Beautiful facility, lots of things to do. Loved it and will be back for sure... great quality / price. Highly recommend
the spa is super, everything is there for relaxation, the staff is very nice and caring, Ruchi very kind, gave a tour of the spa and explained where, what and how to use. So beautiful spa and hotel. Thank you
The entire spa was surprisingly big, stretching 2 floors on the lower level of the resort. The amenities were amazing, the view a beautiful view of Lake Rosseau. My relaxation massage was perfect. Shout out to my skilled masseuse Kenaline. Sorry if I butchered your name but my massage will be remembered.
Superb experience! Got plenty of facilities in a pocket friendly price. Staff were very helping and polite. Enjoyed a lot!
Fantastic experience! Went in the winter time and it wasn’t too busy on the weekend. A beautiful escape with outdoor hot tub, pool, and saunas overlooking the grand lake. ❄️ Snow flakes falling on your hair from the steam in the cold. 💰 A great deal for $100 all day access to the oxygen bar, massage chairs, salt room, and more. Never found a better all-inclusive spa experience. ♥️ I’d totally make the day trip from Toronto to come here!!

The Port Carling Wall is a must-see when visiting the area. The massive mural made of thousands of smaller historical photos is not just beautiful but also a great piece of local art that tells a story. It’s the perfect spot to stop and admire as you enter the town. The wall adds a unique charm to the area and makes for a great photo backdrop. Right nearby, you can grab something to eat and enjoy the lake view. Whether you’re sitting down for a quick bite or just taking in the scenery, the whole area has a relaxing, small-town vibe. A great place to unwind and enjoy a bit of Muskoka charm.
A fantastic location and beautiful setting. A nice clean modern place with very comfortable beds. The layout is more of an up-scaled work camp, not the best for women and not much in the way of provided amenities, just the basics. Not the best for a romantic getaway. Parking is limited
Beautiful mural! Love how the larger mural is constructed of smaller photos from local residents and historical archives! Tells quite the story. My only complaint is lack of accessible parking. Caution, it is also on a VERY steep hill.
The Port Carling Wall is an absolute gem and a must-see when visiting Muskoka! This massive photo mosaic is truly a masterpiece — from a distance, you see a stunning mural, but up close, you realize it’s made up of thousands of tiny historic photos that tell the story of Muskoka’s rich past. It’s an incredible blend of art and history that captures the heart of the region beautifully. The location right by the water adds to the charm, and the surrounding area is perfect for a relaxing stroll, grabbing ice cream, or taking photos. Every time I visit, I notice new details in the wall that I missed before. It’s a great spot for families, couples, or anyone who appreciates creativity and local heritage.
Port Carling, hub/heart of the Muskoka Lakes... What more need one say! Tourist town, with mostly summer tourist prices... few 'permanent' businesses that thrive/open beyond mid-June to mid-October. Several butchers, one supermarket, bank, doctor's office, hardware store, lumber, pharmacy, library, LCBO, Subway and of course a weed and antique/book shops. Delightful views of the water, small museum, parks, mostly seasonal restaurants/shops. Hiking trail, community center, curling, community dock/locks, gas, coffee.
Lovely place to sit down and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake!
Spectacular mural!! Very amazing. Easy to find and access as well. Right next to the bridge on the west side.
Beautiful port but very busy on a Friday afternoon. There’s a severe lack of pedestrian crosswalks and if you want to buy anything, prepare to take out a second mortgage. Not a lot of great places to sit down and enjoy a coffee by the water but it’s a fun location to visit by boat (C)

It was my first time visiting this place, and it was a beautiful and special experience. I truly hope people make an effort to keep such places clean. You lose nothing by taking your empty water bottle with you and tossing it into the nearest garbage bin. The least we can do is protect nature from plastic pollution.
Attempted to visit here on Saturday August2, 2025, upon arriving on site at around 9:00 p.m., was greeted by the opp police and private security that the place was full, no more room to park cars. Didn't know this place can be that busy. Was informed that the place was busy since 7:00 p.m. if you're going on a summer clear weekend I say it's very hard to predict whether it will be busy or not. But it's not very busy during the daytime.
I had a great first visit to this place, and it felt really special! Thanks to Mehrdad for his help and knowledge about astronomy, and for his awesome telescope that let me take a nice picture of the moon. Just a heads up, that night sky wasn’t clear because of smoke, so check the weather before heading to here. Parking space is limited and Ontario park police won’t let you park in the road. Make sure to use mosquito repellent! And, watch out for the Massasauga rattlesnake, the only venomous snake in Muskoka, Ontario, as they come out at night.
We really enjoyed our time here. There was an open flat area with lots of space to sit/lay down and look at the stars. The view was incredible, definitely worth the drive through the narrow windy road there.
Visited on October 25th. Follow the Google maps location and you will be right on spot. Parking is free and limited ( around 20 spots) , so come early to get a spot or park your car on the road side. We booked a star gazing event 'Home of stars' and the guide was awesome showing us the milky way and some of the constellations. Wonderful experience. Got really cold after some time. Portable washroom was available. No water on site. No shops near by so come prepared with all of your requirements.
Torrance Barrens Dark-Sky Preserve is absolutely breathtaking. The night sky here is unlike anything you can see near the city — crystal clear and filled with stars. We were lucky enough to see the Milky Way with the naked eye, which was an unforgettable experience. The preserve is quiet, peaceful, and the perfect spot for stargazing. If you want to connect with nature and witness the sky in its true beauty, this place is a must-visit.
A really sweet spot that I have hiked many times. The trails are well marked and the entire area holds special oaks, small lakes and wetlands. The small stream that runs through the trail is fun to jump over!
10/10 spot for viewing the night sky. However, some people need to respectful of the shared space. Please if you are planning on partying in here and just be talking whole night just do it somewhere else. Its gonma be my last visit and would prefer other places where people are more respectful.

What a spectacular day to be out there. Fantastic Club Link course, very fast but true greens in immaculate condition. Too late in the year for a midweek dinner to comment on, however staff and service was great. Would rush back here in a heartbeat. Thanks to my friend Ric for the invite.
Came here for dinner with my family. Our waiter was terribly nice and she did a phenomenal job! The food was delicious as well. Both shrimp and trout cake appetizer were both flavorful. My main meal which was the fish and chips was probably the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. You can tell it was freshly made. The reason the club gets a 4/5 is because of the drinks and desserts. They did not have Pina colada or any smoothie style drinks which was a big disappointment. Their menu cocktails are great otherwise. The dessert menu is very underwhelming as they did not have the cheesecake when I went. I recommend coming here 100%. I hope next time I come that last star will be fulfilled!
For an execu-9 its ok. You're paying for the atmosphere. As for the course. It's far from being maintained at that price point. But i was able to take advantage of club link academy pricing for me and my guest. If I had to pay for it, I wouldn't be as satisfied. The course itself is a good mix of close and not-so close. Greens are real slow, could be due to rains and timing. All in all, a solid 3.
This is a Muskoka Showcase. The course is beautiful and the staff is knowledgeable and very polite. The clubhouse is awesome. After golf walk down the lane to the waterfront lakeside restaurant that’s part of the course. Incredibly elegant and breathtaking in its view. Try the $200 seafood tray....it’s the best thing there.
Fun course and well maintained, even in the rain. The pace of play was surprisingly slow despite the weather and cancellations, so I can only imagine it could be much slower on a nice day.
One of my favorite courses in cottage country; beautifully wooded vistas and an enjoyable layout with thoughtful hole design. Highly recommend.
Beautiful course surrounded by trees and laid out to take advantage of the natural lay of the land. Lots of tee options to give you very different looks on a majority of the holes. It's not super punishing in terms of it being tight, but being accurate off the tee will definitely help with the overall enjoyment of the course. Course is in good shape for late September and usually is in great shape regardless of season. The bunkers are perfect with pristine white sand. The driving range is wide with enough targets to get dialed in before your round.
When we arrived at the next hole tee blocks and saw this, we adjusted our expectation on pace of play. No Marshalls to keep the pace moving. Eventually we abandoned the round realizing it would be a 5 hour round and passed 2 completely empty holes on our way out. Sigh. Could be so much better.

My husband and I had the best experience ever on the Peerless II. The captain and crew were very knowledgeable about the islands and their history. He even took us to Portage Bay where our old family cottage used to be. I was so impressed by that. So kind of the Captain. Took a lot of pictures. The smaller boat experience was fantastic. We will definitely be returning. Thank you.
It was my friend's birthday, we had such an amazing time. The crew and captain were amazing. They accommodated us in every way. Most boats do not have a decent washroom. To my surprise washroom was very nice. There are drinks of all kinds available on board. The deck is covered so sun doesn't bother you. You can even book it for private parties of up to 45 ppl. Highly recommended. Captain of the boat was very informative and pleasant.
The trip of a lifetime. The views spectacular. We were just ahead of the colours changing but the cottages and the islands were awe inspiring. The captain was so knowledgeable and the mates extremely friendly. Definately something to experience. Not to be confused with the Lady Rousseau ship. Travel the Peerless II. You won't regret it.
My family went for a 2 hour sunset cruise on Lake Rosseau and it was gorgeous. Perfect sunset views, the boat and bathrooms were extremely clean, the narration was great, and it was very spacious. The captain and crew are very sweet and are even willing to take a picture for you at the bow of the boat! Highly recommend.
10/10 would recommend and must do in Muskoka!!! We decided last minute to book the 7 Sisters Island tour, and ended up with a private boat tour! The views were incredible, especially with the fall colours, the captain is a wealth of knowledge and gave us some really cool facts about the islands and its history. The crew, Dianne and Jim, were absolutely fantastic and so fun to chat with and get to know. It was such an enjoyable time. The ship was clean, lots of seating options for both indoor and outdoor, full stocked bar with snacks on board, and washroom facilities available for use. Great family friendly attraction and you must do this tour upon the Peerless II.
Beautiful Mid September Cruise, Lake Muskoka Millionaires Row - Stunning scenery. Captain Potts & his crew shared the history of the region through the vacationing Americans and Canadians. The wealthy Industrialists coming to Muskoka for hunting, fishing and fresh air were the first ones building cottages like palatial Estates. Back in the 1800s the area was logging, fishing and hunting. The area turned into 'Millionaires Row' Beautiful Muskoka. A Cruise not to be missed.
My daughter rented Peerless II for my 70th birthday celebration with family and friends cruising beautiful Lake Rosseau. My best birthday celebration ever. The staff took care of the shopping and provided delicious finger food and drinks for the party. I connected my phone to their speaker system so we were able to enjoy music. Everyone had a ball. The owners are very friendly, professional and knowledgeable.
This was our third time on the Peerless 2. The other times being sunset cruises one on Lake Joe the other Lake Rosseau. We were in luck and had a beautiful day for a cruise. The 2 1/2 hour voyage was into Lake Muskoka and among the islands at “Millionaires Row” the Captain kept a running commentary about the area and its inhabitants. Which was informative, enjoyable and very entertaining. The crew were attentive and very polite and well acquainted with the area.

I really love this hike! It was challenging enough to give me a workout, but it wasn't that difficult. Lots of great views, saw a lot of wildlife, And the water was clear enough to swim in. I think the only downside I can think of is some of the trails were not marked as clear as other hikes have been The trail does get muddy at times... But with most trails you're going to run into a mud. If you're ever out in the area definitely take a look at hiking here
It's a big park. The trails are easy, not much of slopes. Kids and pets friendly. Easily spend a few hours here. Our favorite part is the boardwalk to the mini island. Great picture!!
Leisure Walk - Hardy Lake Provincial Park 2 hours drive from Toronto This is my first hike on such a raw trail. There are no made-man roads, so you cannot see an obvious road and have to find and follow the signs on trees alongside. The terrain is generally wet and muddy, and mosquitoes and bugs are your tour guides. It rained after we had walked one-third of the 9km, but it stopped when we returned to the endpoint. Other than that, it’s a quiet and peaceful place. The trees are gorgeous and tall enough to keep away raindrops. The trail is average in difficulty and recommended to all nature lovers.
Great 10km loop with excellent views of the lake most of the way. A bit muddy in some places and lots of mosquitos. There's a portable toilet at the trailhead, nothing else. Parking is small and fills up early, people had parked along the side of the road.
Absolutely amazing trail to take. Recommend hiking shoes, as you will have a makeshift-like bridge from sticks to walk over to continue walking otherwise it's amazing views of the lake. The bugs are quite bad no matter how much bug spray you wear. We ran into an older couple who got a netted hat from the dollar store and honestly it was genius and wish I had picked some up!!! Definitely wear appropriate clothing and shoes and hope for that nice breeze/wind as it helped keep them a bit at bay. When you get to the bridge to the little island the scenic view is amazing. There's a bench where you can sit and relax. The water was nice and refreshing (later as we were leaving people across the way did go swimming and jump off rocks and they were yelling it's so cold! Haha). This place now holds a special place as not only when we went we barely saw anyone on a hike, so it was the peak time to go and we had the whole place to ourselves. With that we got engaged and made for a very intimate special moment.
Great park with amazing trails! I've done the 8km loop around the lake both in winter and now just recently in summer. In winter best to bring cleats/ice grippers and in summer best to use some bug spray. Bugs were not bad, only started to notice a few towards the end of the trail when further away from the lake. Porta potty at trail entrance and small rock bench in parking lot. Would definitely recommend, lots of frogs and mushrooms to see in summer! Give yourself at least 2-3hrs to complete if you take stops for photos etc. Nice and cool to hike in summer with all the tree coverage, so definitely an option to do on a really hot day.
Great place for active leisure! A lot of natural scenic spots for pictures. Choice of easy, medium and hard walking trails. We choose the hardest and in fact it wasn’t so complicated - just very long. The only thing is that you have to be ready to get surrounded by millions of mosquitoes 🦟 Make sure to bring a spray for protection 🙂
Some trees have become bright orange but it’s not full peak yet it seems. Trails are marked properly but boardwalks are all on the longer 8km trail.

Best Fish and Chips ever!!! And The Wahta Station, they have the best frozen pie's. Omg goodness definitely delicious! Lovely place, and many more goodies you will find in the store!!
Mrs H's fish and chips were perfect, the portions huge, the prices reasonable, and the service great. There is no indoor seating and the picnic tables had been put away for the winter, so eating in your vehicle is the only option. Porta potties were spotlessly clean. Also, there are lovely items for sale at the Wahta Station store beside Mrs H's.
This place is so awesome! Has so many beautiful hand made items…tons of cigarette choices! Fair pricing too! Definitely a score going here! Oh and also had a food station right next store that’s sells fish n chips, cheese dogs, & all sorts of delicious fast food!
Chefs served delicious quick halibut, shrimp chicken cranberry pies, to top it off, ice cream cone selections, yum. Plus rayon tops, dresses, real fur moccasins in assorted bead designs and suede colors. Even moccasins with rubber soles, in assorted browns. You have to visit with family, at least a dozen picnic tables, shade or sun areas. Very reasonable prices for absolutely everything. The staff was over the top polite and having a good time together; so nice to see. This double picnic table was very cool; one in shade one in partial 🌞. Great place, put in your order, wait for your # to be called out to the parking lot ! 💓
After seeing their add on CTV Barrie news so often we had to try it on a Recent trip north … it was excellent… so very glad we ate here. Best fish and chips ever. Jim Patterson
Visit June 4, 2022. I have been here several times to both the convenience store as well as next door at the very popular Mrs. H's Fish & Chips. NEW this year the Ice Cream Castle, an ice cream stand on the property. The Wahta Station has great staff, extensive collection of sundry goods, high quality gifts and tobacco products.
Beautiful selection of handmade Mukluks, great prices for tobacco products, staff was very welcoming friendly and professional, Miss H fish n chips was delicious with decent portion of fish, batter was light and crispy, fries cooked perfectly and the coleslaw was the best I've ever had, highly recommend, returning customer
Excellent place for some tasty poutine made with fresh hand cut fries. The halibut sandwich was fantastic. Staff are very friendly. It's unfortunate that we had to witness some out of towners treat the staff poorly.

I love this little history museum of Muskoka and port Carling. I visited it a few years back with my wife and really enjoyed it. I'm a bit disappointed that it took us 20 years of coming to Muskoka, annually to finally try this gem about the history of this great place. I took my kids this year and they loved it as well. Keep up the great work.
Something to see for the whole family. Three generations of my family each found fascinating exhibits within the museum. The setting of the museum is spectacular. Well worth a visit!
Must go if in area. Excellent collection of artifacts pertaining to the whole history of Muskoka. How it started as white pine logging, through promotion of agriculture (that failed because of infertile soil) to the great out of town entertainment and leisure industry.
Staff was very friendly being we showed up 30min to closing. The kids loved looking at the old phones and it was fun to show the kids how the settlers use to live in muskoka.
The museum seems a small cabin from the outside but has marvelous jewels inside. All clean and neat, well organized and amazingly displayed. Visually appealing and interesting information with multiple historic artifacts. Staff conversation and explanations are amazing.
Interactive exhibits, deep Muskoka historical artifacts makes this a very interesting and informative museum!
Very well designed and updated! Haven't been in since I was a kid and was greatly impressed. Very informative information but with some of it clearly printed off wikipedia that raises some concerns. The pioneer cabin is great along with all the exhibits. Lots of activities for kids. Well worth it to check it out!

I found a brochure for this museum and it was from 2023 buy the information was mostly the same. Jack and Linda were extremely kind and funny. The location is a little far from my home but thankfully I was camping in the area! The gift shop is nice and Linda is obsessed with Ebay. The photo area is lovely and I hope to see the upstairs next time I go!
I was very disappointed that the curator of the museum ignored the 4 adults in our party that came with great interest in the museum. It was catered entirely to the 3 children in the group. Very cute I'm sure but got quite boring. It was almost like we weren't even there. It was also like we were captured in the sequence of the events which lasted an hour and a half with no way out. Even my niece who was one of the 3 children wasn't greatly enamored by the "play acting". It is also rather disconcerting to be constantly called to "take the picture now". As if it was only to set up scenes for photos. Sorry for the negativity but it was disappointing and it could have been much more enjoyable.
The most wholesome museum with so much passion and dedication gone into it. A lot of effort goes into making a memorable tour for those who come in. Thank you Jack and Linda for restoring such a key part of history, sharing your love for Anne of Green Gables, and for putting a smile on all our faces. Your story is inspiring.
If you are passionate about LM Montgomery and Anne of Green Gables then this is a tour you won't want to miss.
What a gem of a place!!!!! I was not expecting this from a museum, but wow! What fun and so much learnt about L.M. Montgomery, her books and the time period she lived. The passion and excitement of Linda and Jack during the tour was unlike anything else. If you're able to get there and take this tour with these two wonderful people, please do so!
Linda and Jack truly love the museum and what they do. They take time and do not rush the tour. The whole experience was so much fun. It is something I think I'll do again with my daughter.
So family friendly! Most of the museum is hands on. They dress your little ones in period costume and offer them a tea party. They act out different skits from the book and you can take part. The gardens are beautiful. A great little collection with a couple that is very passionate and proud of their museum. Very reasonably priced and nice quiet location. Do not miss this museum when you visit Bala!
Quite a suprise! I really felt transported back in time and not in a stuffy museum. Very hands on.

I love rocks and this place did not disappoint! An easy hike up, the view of the lake was far away, but the rocks and trees were amazing. You can walk around the rock, I found a spot in the shade and painted. I saw a grouse and chipmunks. I really liked the veins of quartz running through the rock. Very fun trip!
The trail is fun and has an amazing look out! Lots of places to take photos, enjoy nature, and find a nice walking stick. Sometimes it's busy and you have to park on the street, and other times not too busy. Great place if you want to spend an hour or two, and is not too difficult.
A unique well marked trail takes you from on the parking lot up to the top of Huckleberry rock, around the top and back down again. Trail starts and ends in wooded area but mostly is up top with barren rock. Can be very hot in the sun. Lots of benches on the trail. Mostly in the sun. Lookout over lake Muskoka is worth it. Takes about an hour with stop to enjoy the views. Bathroom in the parking lot. A bit of a climb at beginning it then pretty even.
Super busy spot the parking is limited but there was extended parking in the golf course across the road . You just have to follow the signs. It's a small hike so good for beginners and younger kids .
Beautiful area! The lookout point had great views of the lake. It was a fairly short hike. Was very busy and had to park on the residential street.
Nice view and can get to the lake view in 15 minutes... Not for People who are looking for a quiet and peaceful hike.. Too much crowd and noisy.
A great free-play mode hike. Exciting to explore and relax here. Bring shoes with some grip, the stones were a bit wet and my foot slipped right out from under me on the way down.
Beautiful easy hike. Lookout is spectacular. Lots of space. Take a picnic or capture the sunset

We absolutely love this art gallery and the owner Carola. We looked around on several occasions before committing to make a purchase and the owner was wonderful in providing us with the history or story of each artist. We have since purchased several original pieces that we absolutely love. The owner has also helped with delivery on a few occasions. Thank you Carola and the Red Canoe Art Gallery.
My friends and I decided to rent a cottage for an end of summer trip, I split off and needed to run a few errands at the pharmasave next door. While I was waiting for my friends to pick me up, I decided to stop in and look at the art by myself to kill time. When I entered I was greeted and figured it was out of common customer service mannerisms. I later discovered it was not the case, the owner was trying to get rid of me when I was simply admiring the art. I was asked again if I needed a hand and when I told her I was looking while waiting for my friends she asked me to wait outside and said i looked like i had questions for her and she proceeded to shoo me away” because I was “intruding on her conversation with another customer” when I didn’t speak or involve myself in the conversation. I have never been treated with such disrespect, rudeness and poor service in my life. Her behaviour was disgusting. i’m response to her comments on how I was dressed i was wearing a t shirt and a skirt. her response to my poor review should give you an indication of the service and attitude to expect.
The owner of this gallery (she claimed she was the owner) is the rudest woman, genuinely a see you next Tuesday. I overheard her speaking rudely about me and my boyfriend while we were admiring the artwork. I was shocked at first, because who would speak about a potential customer like that? Once I was sure she was speaking of us I confronted her and she was disgusting. I visited a few summers back, but I’ll never forget the incredibly rude encounter I had at this gallery. Do not support this woman or her business. Awful service.
Great experience and bought an amazing painting.
Smaller gallery. Really nice to see the artwork, all curated to bring out the Muskoka charm.
Visit July, 2020. Wonderful pieces from very talented artists. Great Canadiana vibe. Friendly and very knowledgeable staff available to answer questions.
Great local Muskoka establishment for art from Canadian craftspeople. Items in the store and layout are often different each time we visit, never know what you will find. Paintings were gorgeous! Given multiple gifts to people bought here: pottery, shirts, fine wood bowls. Happy to support local business and local production aswell!
This gallery has a beautiful collection of art, however I have never been treated so rude. One of the women who own it, answered my question in such an abrupt and rude manner that it completely shocked me. She clearly needs to learn a thing or two about sales and customer service. I won't be stepping foot in that gallery again and I'll be sure to let my Muskoka friends and colleagues know what they can expect.
