This is our families go-to beach. It has a wonderful strand where we see dolphins and even whales sometimes when the tide is out and they hunt along the drop off. There are tiny crabs that my littlest loves to hunt, and sand, huge logs, and a variety of rock for creative play. The playground is great for able-bodied kids of developmental ages up to 10 or so. Somewhat accessible, though not great: there is an adult compatible hybrid swing and zipline, but it's in a area you have to step down to get into. Ramps on the equipment but a wheelchair won't get far, etc. The spirit is there but the scope is small. Accommodations are angled for adult sized bodies with some minor limits. There's a pier, great for crabbing, and a campground right next door. The park has a decent concession, open in summer, and washrooms, open all year. There is a wonderful gazebo that is used for local celebrations three seasons of the year, and tiered seating facing the water that sees a lot of use when we have fireworks. There's frequently festivals and markets in the summer, and it's a gathering place year round. What else can I say? It's our favorite park.
This place is amazing with so much space for every size of tent or RV. The beach, pier, and parks are amazing. The people are great too. The couple running the place were so informative and kind. They have great service and cleaning daily and this site is extremely well kept. Highly recommend.
The advantages of this campsite are free fast WiFi and its proximity to the city. However, the disadvantages are that the campsite is right next to the highway, leading to significant car noise. Additionally, the campsites are too close to each other, providing no privacy, and we were disturbed by the neighbors' snoring all night. Showers are charged by time: 4 CAD per minute.
Had a great time at Willingdon Beach Park. There's a burger, chicken finger & fries stand, decent sized park for the kids, water park, ice cream and mini golf across the street as well. Definitely great spot for camping or day use for the whole family. Would highly recommend checking out.
It's main centre point of town. Nice place for picnic and you can enjoy lot of activities like playing volleyball, walking along the trail reaching upto second beach, doing swimming. Above all during evening people come here especially to see one of the world's best Sunset view from here.
Such a lovely little park and beach! There is a volleyball court, 2 playgrounds, a waterpark, a dock to jump into the water from and so many trees for those who need a break from the sun! There is also a sweet little cafe/fish and chip place! All these things make this park a wonderful must see. You don't quite get to see as much of the water as you may like but all the amenities make up for it!
We had already spent the day at another beach in the area but wanted to take in the sunset at Willingdon Beach Park. We were not disappointed. There were some benches to just rest at and drink in the vibrant colours. This park is perfect for everyone- there’s a playground- plenty of grass area…loads of beach access. Simply lovely!
Fantastic! My family spent the entire day here and loved the playground, beach, dock and pathway. Lots to do and see. Perfect for kids!

Gorgeous camp spot. Coming down can be a bit hairy for low clearance vehicles but the sites are very clean and ranger is very friendly. Park has a dock for smaller craft and day use picnic tables. Pit toilets and well water from a hand pump
The lake is beautiful but if I had been made aware off all the snakes and frogs I would have never done this walk around the lake, it became a nightmare just hundreds of them.
Neat park way out in the middle of nowhere. Lots of wildlife around. We saw tons of snakes around. Some of the trails can get pretty muddy so be aware of that. Overall, a neat area I definitely want explore more in the future!
Stunning area with amazing hiking trails. The trails we completed were dog friendly as well (as long as they’re leashed). Parking was easy too, but this was in winter time (can imagine this place being fairly crowded in summer).
Nice, maintained, 13km multi-use path around this astutely-named Inland Lake - great for trail jogging (which I was doing), though beware of cyclists, some of whom don't slow down (there probably should be a separate path for cyclists/wider path / dismounting rules on blind corners). There is a path off the north-west corner of the lake which I investigated - the main trail of which seemed to end in cottages (whose tenants stared at me with furrowed brows like it was a trail only for their use...), though there were many sidetrails which I did not check out. There is a fair bit of parking near the boat launch at the south-east corner of the lake. There are various mini-beaches where I observed people swimming. There are outhouses by the boat launch and a few other spots around the lake. Excellent recreational path overall.
Beautiful lake area. The only issue is on sunny days the boat launch and camping dock get pretty crowded. Located a bit far on dirt roads
An amazing hike through this place, lots of wildlife, be bear aware and watch out where you step because there are sooooo many tiny toads and frogs. The bridge is broken, so please be very careful you dare to cross.
Don’t worry about the broken bridge - it’s perfectly passable on foot. The campground is lovely and host _extremely_ friendly. There is a great swimming jetty with a ladder on the end for those warm lake swims. Though most are reserved there are a handful of first come first served spots. Also, the ravens are super loud, so bring earplugs if you are sensitive to that kind of thing.

Lovely brewery! You’re welcome to bring your own food and dogs are welcome on the patio and in their Beer Garden. Beer garden is just behind the brewery; family friendly, pet friendly and lots of shade/privacy. Beers are fantastic, staff is incredibly friendly and overall it’s always a fantastic time. There’s no view of the ocean, but the greenness and the openness of the Beer Garden very much makes up for it. Great spot to relax and have a beer on a sunny afternoon!
Loved it! nothing bad to say about the place, I loved to area it's in... the old side of Powell River is history rich and just such a charming little area I think! I only had a couple of things on tap but absolutely loved them. This is a kid friendly place, so feel free to bring the whole family. very cool and charming little place. When I'm back again I will be visiting here again maybe I can get a tour and interview the owner.
Chill spot with great drinks, friendly staff, and good vibes Townsite Brewing is easy to find with plenty of street parking nearby. We dropped by during happy hour on a weekday and had such a great time. The staff was super friendly and bubbly—she offered us samples to help us decide what to order, which was a nice touch. Both the cocktail and the cider we chose were delicious and well-balanced. The space has a laid-back, welcoming vibe with board games and cards available—perfect for a relaxed afternoon over a few drinks. Oh, and don’t miss the resident shop cat—adorably lazy and a total vibe. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in Powell River!
A full history of the brewer and the whole process! I actually learned a lot :) I like the size of the brewery too. Not too big, loud and echoey, but also not too small. They also have a super cute back patio! I would recommend it!
I like this one. Wide choice of some very memorable beers and a terrific view of the paper mill. Can totally recommend!
We loved this beer brewery and dog/kids friendly back yard. It was a great atmosphere to enjoy their tasty beer. Food was also good!
Lovely brewery visit in Powell River. We enjoyed our flights and appreciated the play area and all the arcade and board games for our families. Beer was delicious with a great variety to try. The staff seemed absolutely miserable from the moment we walked in which really spoiled the overall experience and why I would take a star off the review. They were so grumpy and irritated when we needed a moment to decide on our flights (no one else was there waiting to order either). Hopefully it was just a bad day and we will have a better service experience next time
We have been sporadically stopping in for beer over the last 10 years. The beer has always been great and its a pretty unique building. We were impressed by the backyard terraced beer garden. Lots of space to sit, socialize, and have a cold beer.

In the last three weeks we have been to a lot of information centers across ALBERTA and BC. The (young) lady who provided us with an armful of hikes and activities at the Powell River information center was excellent, equal to the best, and far above average. Thank you.
Great staff and valuable local information and insights.
What surprises me the most after recently attending our local Visitors Center, was that I interestingly browsed through nice hoodies, jackets, hats, patches, and other nice items that depict our lovely small town of Powell River. My 13 year old daughter even happily got herself an 'all-player autographed Powell River Paper Kings' sports jacket. This place is more than just a small office to get local maps and browse through oscillating racks of post cards. I just can't wait until we can possibly get to buy local "Qathet" sportswear soon...!
Staff is super friendly and helpful.
The ladies at the Powell River Tourist Information booth were incredibly helpful and friendly. A vast array of maps and information. We would strong recommend stopping in if it’s your first time to the area.
Nice friendly staff.
The place to go for information, as you'd expect, but also quite good for souvenirs. They have a selection that mirrors that of several of the other knick knack shops in town and at competitive prices. Also, a neat 3D map of the region that's worth a peek if you're in the area.
Melanie is an awesome ambassador for the Powell River area! Deep knowledge of local recreation and great explainer.

By going to this locally run Museum, my wife and I obtained a better understanding and appreciation of the history of the Powell River area. The actual museum was well laid out and organized. The attendant was helpful in providing additional information when it came to the various exhibits. The cost was by suggested donation. Well worth the time to investigate.
Small yet informative museum. Learned a lot about Powell river and surrounding area Donations are gladly accepted.
If your looking for family history in Powell river . This is the place . Great museum and memorabilia as well
Lots of great history!! Even more than just Powell River including retro home items.. very neat, must see.
Loved this museum. There was a timeline of the local First Nation after European contact, and it was really illuminating and interesting, I hadn’t seen anything similar and really appreciated it. Otherwise all around a great museum and loved my chat with the young lady with dark hair from Ontario, who was working that day. She was really knowledgeable and great at presenting Powell Rivers history.
Learned a lot about the history of Powell River and some Indigenous facts that were new to me. Nice selection in the giftshop area, knowledgeable and super friendly staff.
Nice collection of random artifacts. Some native, many from early local business, and other assorted items. We chatted for a while with the friendly lady in charge. There is a Flow charger here and this makes a good place for a quick boost.
Great museum. Lots of interesting exhibits and artifacts.

This is the best farmers market I have ever been to. I cannot WAIT to go back. What a magical spot and such a great variety of products. There is truly something for everyone here. The open mic music, the train, the amazing food. What’s not to love? Definitely bring cash with you and be prepared to spend it in the best possible way.
Wonderful, festive, friendly, inviting, bakeries, coffee truck, live music, jams, hot foods, vegetable and fruit vendors of Farmers, mini-train rides and much more. I enjoy spending a few hours here while they are open on the weekends in the summer. Thank You, Ju, Em, Ag, Ho, and Da. God bless. 🙏
A great variety of stalls and all of the vendors are so friendly. It is definitely worth the time to visit. Not all of the vendors accept cash but you can purchase market money with a card and pay that way. The market money comes in $10 denominations, and the vendors make change for the leftovers.
Wow this is such a well done Farmer's Market! So much to see. Such wonderful vibes! Everyone so friendly.
Super cute and communal! Great local products and vendors are all very warm.
Such an adorable place with lots of cute shops ! So much to see, so much great food and quality crafts you just HAVE to have :)
Loved this market, great things to buy and very friendly people.
I always love coming here. Such a variety of things to see and try, and hopefully bring home! Plus everyone is so friendly.

We stumbled across this on our drive. Its Visable from a pull out on the road. There are binoculars there you can use for a $1 to get a better view and some history about the ships. We didnt have time to walk down the trail to get a closer look but next time we will definitely check it out. It's really impressive just seeing it from a distance. I would highly recommend taking some time to check this out. If you appreciate ships you'll love this.
It is a site to look at the old war boats.. that have been moorned beside the old mill for years acting a log boom pen
Amazing to see. I would definitely recommend.
If you’ve got the time and a boat or some snorkelling gear make sure to get right up close. The hulks are fantastic. In summer too there are hundreds of sea lions on the nearby log booms and they are great fun to swim with. Intimidating, but not aggressive in any way.
neat to see and read about
The locals call it "The Hulks"
Interested... Unbelievable
(Translated by Google) It's simply amazing what has been done here with the concrete ships. We had previously seen the report in Lost Places (TV channel World), which was valuable for understanding. I gave this marina a five start rating based on several things. I’ll start with the office staff 8/7/23. The two working today are fabulous! Friendly, helpful and knowledge. We appreciate your kindness, thank you! The location to pubs, stores etc., is also an added benefit. Shuttle available. Great walking trail. Nice dog areas. Trash/recycle available. You can wash your boat! Power…a perfect stop on our way north. We will be back!
We are moored in the new north harbour area. The area is well laid out and brand new. The harbour was really quiet and most people were friendly.
I was at the marina to wait for a ferry. There is a bathroom and a restaurant across the road if you need to grab something to eat. You can pay to walk on the ferry or drive on. I always try to make a reservation, but if you get there early enough, you can easily get on the ferry without one. If you are handicapped and need to park closer to an elevator, just make the request when you get to the check-in booth. They will try to accommodate you.
A nice spot ,with some great views of the nearby islands,as well as a great spot to watch the sunset ,there is also a great beach walking trail that starts from here and is a few kms of easy ,casual walking good for anyone ,lots of people walk their dogs here but they are supposed to be leashed ( not everyone does) ,there are some public washrooms along the trail part way that include a pay shower for traveler's who need to freshen up !
Friendly and efficient staff. We always pass through here on our way back and forth from Comox to Powell River or Port Hardy. They seem well organized.
Easy to get into and close to everything you need! Lordco - grocery’s-fuel all within minutes of the your boat!
Nice clean facility's, in the center of town, fuel dock
Nice place for a walk and beautiful ocean view.

Fantastic library! Large, well equipped, los of resources and friendly staff. Amazing hours!
Very disappointed, drove all the way to town to find out they were closed (when there web site said they were open ).
The Powell River Library was a great place studying, and working with the 3D printer. Nice&quiet
A wonderful variety of books and library services. A great space to read and work. Regular events. The only trouble I have is the awkwardness of the inter-library loan service, but even that isn't solely Powell River Library's fault.
Pleasent atmosphere with some great learning opportunities, for both kids and adults. Decent book selection. Cafe, comfy chairs are a nice touch. A little louder than I'd like a library but nothing too distracting.
Too be totally honest of which I am is,for starters -i was homeless at age 58 the janitor went into the bathroom after every time I had a leek and someone edited this very review your reading with all the problems the public library caused me and lied about,it's probably them we shall see .
Nice library. Apart from the fact that the corrupt mayor gave his own family the contract to build it. Conflict of interest much? Also the exit/entry beside the shell gas station that was once an essential part of the plaza to enter or exit has been blocked off with a huge curb/sidewalk in front of the library. A feeble attempt to make the outside look more hospitable. This construction of these barriers really impedes traffic and makes driving around the lot extremly difficult, as its often packed because of all the stores within the plaza. Not liking some of the hours of operation. Classic Powell River move. Inconsistent. Open late and close early. A huge fail in my opinion. 9am seems more appropriate to open. I have to say I'm in disbelief they open at 1pm on Sundays. Why bother at all?
Love the little pop-up library amd looking forward to the reopening next week!

The best hiking spot in Powell river. Just a short walk uphill and some steep stairs up and you will be rewarded with the best view.
Pleasant , easy and relaxing walk up 20 minutes from where park. Less than 10 minute drive from center of town and great if like a nice view
Loved this hike! Quick and easy walk to the nice view point of ocean and industrial area! You just need to climb up the rock stairs at the end! (Counted a little less than 100 stairs) After the initial view point, if you want to see the cranberry lake, keep going up to the right. The view is a bit obstructed tho. (See the pic) Good family/dog walking hike and plenty of parking spots at the trail head.
Nice short trail with some elevation; close to Powell River.
It was a beautiful hike up the mountain. Easy enough for kids but please keep a very close eye on them as there are no safety rails at the top, only on the steep stone stairs. Once at the top you can overlook Powell River and get a clear view of the Ocean and mountains and the Paper Mill. I recommend this to anyone who loves hiking and can appreciate a beautiful view. Please pick up your garbage though.
Beautiful, simple access to mountain climb, surrounded by forest, with perfect view overtop the paper mill, preceeding the ocean; vancouver island in the background. Lovely
A good hike, lots of verticality without taking too much time out of your schedule unless you are constantly pausing to catch your breath as I was. Take your time on the stone stairs up to the top, the rise and run of them are all over the place. Very satisfying to get to the top, nonetheless.
Google maps took me to the wrong place. Look for cranberry street and crown avenue. At the end of the road, you can park and then begin your climb up the mountain. It’s a nice quick hike with the Dog and not many people. Beautiful view from the top.

Played on many different courts in cities around Canada, I’m very proud to say Powell River now has some of the finest courts around. It’s very evident Igor and Albert are very committed to providing a great experience for everyone. There’s great practice equipment for use and I imagine it’ll only get better as time goes on. Great addition to this wonderful city

Super interesting and the woman who was there was super knowledgeable.
I just like this area, quiet and laid back place to visit.
Fascinating and informative resource depicting the origin of Powell River.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Henderson house, friendly and informative staff who allowed myself and my granddaughter to wander and enjoy.
Historic Townsite, old town of Powell River is most amazing example of small Canadian community making an effort to preserve our history. It's not only a building or two, but rather once a village and now a neighborhood that started as the core of Powell River over 100 years ago. It's amphitheatric landscape allows us amazing views of Georgia Straight dressed with neighbouring islands almost anywhere in Townsite and Powell River for that matter. Once called the Pearl of the Sunshine Coast, one can not but wonder surrounded by the history of the district and mesmerized by the views how it all started. It's never the less a proud moment for an adopted child of the community to that stand tall and recognize how Powell RIver had evolved and was able to preserve its heritage.
It was very interesting to hear the history given to my wife Sylvia (and me) on the impromptu walking tour of the original town site. It was very interesting and enlightening.
Thank you very much to everyone who was and is involved with keeping this building maintained and accessible for all to enjoy!
Bit of a hidden gem. Lots of interesting history. Friendly and very knowledgeable staff.

Always helpful and knowledgeable in art forms. April White is awesome printer and artist.
A first for the world! A gallery that doesn't support new artists! It's a lovely place if you're looking to get humbled. The associate took one look at my sweatpants and advised me to go to Walmart! How dare I try to support a local business, it was foolish of me to presume my money was just as good as anyone else's. My mistake! As she advised, I'll try the dollar store. I did not leave with a framed piece, but I did leave with my ears filled with comments! Go team!
Excellent art and a awesome artist, but we bought an expensive piece and the communication and the service after purchase really needs to improve. It’s been 1 month that we purchase and we still didn’t receive anything. Lots of misunderstandings and mistakes with the shipping. Really disappointed.
Great place to buy hanging prints and to get framing done.
A lovely place to visit. Beautiful art by April White.
