Took my kids skiing for the first time today. They all had an excellent time and so did I. My only “complaint” is that I was not able to buy a beer for the staff who gave my youngest a ride down the mountain when she was ready to be done. Big THANK YOU. Looking forward to coming back in the future.
Great hill for skiing. Lots of runs. Good elevation. Very helpful staff. I was impressed.
Love the spring skiing here! Always so nice! Loads of different trails of difficulty.
Just returned to Kimberly after a ski trip in Fernie and the difference between the two locations is great. OK on the third day in Fernie we had a dump of snow and it was good powder, and amazing. Hard to beat. Nevertheless, Fernie was much better prepared on the runs. And the variety of lower runs in Blue and Green allows for a fun day. While Kimberly has the long North Star quad chair lift, and the blues and a few greens are long and converge on the bridge to the start of the lift. So a real bottleneck. And after the bridge to run down to the lift is not green.. Once up the North Star you can move over to the backside, but they are not always well groomed runs. In fact I was on Vimy Ridge and the run surveyor was having a real argument on the phone with the director about opening runs. It would also be nice if somebody took a brush cutter to the pines growing on the runs. The RCR staff at the locations seem to come from different planets, the Fernie staff are great friendly and helpful. And the ski patrol is on the ball. You can't say that of Kimberly at all. Except being for the cafe staff they are friendly..
Great ski hill for beginner to intermediate skiers. If you’re looking for something a bit more interesting try going to the far north side and jumping in beyond the patrol lines. We found some fun fresh snow in there !
Great hill, even better when it gets dumps of snow. The hill has a good variety of different runs with varying skill levels. The hill is well maintained with the green runs groomed while most blues and blacks aren't.
Awesome family ski resort with excellent runs for all levels, and fun stuff for little skiers to build their confidence and skills on. Stay on the resort if you can, so much easier to ski-in, ski-out for lunch and breaks, and after the kids are done you drop them back at your suite and do a couple Mom & dad power runs to round out your day!
I've skied here my whole life, I love this family friendly hill. Its a hidden gem with great snow, friendly staff and short lines. This was my 1st time taking my 6yr old daughter here. Sophie (or Sophia maybe?) was working the top of the magic carpet ride and was such a ray of sunshine! Wearing an elf hat, smiling, singing and chatting with everyone. She even encouraged my daughter when attempting the pilons. When she went on lunch break my daughter even asked when she'd be back. She really made the day special for us, and deserves recognition.

A Memorable Experience for the Whole Family! We had an amazing time riding the Kimberley Underground Mining Railway! The tour was not only informative but also incredibly meaningful—especially for my dad, who spent his career as an underground coal miner. He got such a kick out of the stories, equipment, and historical details shared along the way. The entire experience was well-paced and engaging, with beautiful views and fascinating history woven throughout. It’s a fantastic way to spend the day, learn something new, and appreciate the legacy of mining in the area. Highly recommend for families, history buffs, and anyone looking for something truly unique in Kimberley!
What a wonderful tour. We learned so much about the Sullivan mine and how getting the ore out the ground changed over the years. Our amazing tour guide in the mine was Dale. He is a third generation miner. His hands-on knowledge, experiences and passion for mining were the highlights of the tour. After the tour in the mine and the powerhouse, we toured the original school house built in 1890, I believe, as well as a replica of a miner's home from the early 1900s. And to the ladies working in the station store, thank you for suggesting to wear a jacket/sweater/sweatshirt; much appreciated.
Such an enjoyable morning with our family as we did the train ride. The desk staff ladies were very friendly and helpful. It wasn’t an ‘inexpensive’ family outing, $90 for 4 adults, 2 children and a baby. But the children thoroughly enjoyed the train ride through the trees and a couple of exciting tunnels as well. Jack, the young man who was our tour guide was very knowledgable and gave some really interesting information on the history of the mine. It is a worthwhile stop for some fun and wholesome family entertainment (with some great historical knowledge thrown in for good luck!) We took the one hour tour and with children, it was the perfect length of time. Free, accessible parking, which was plentiful.
Really good display on how underground mining operations are carried out in a professional manner, the guides are all retired miners and are passionate about explaining and sharing their experiences. A fun little train ride in and around, very minimal walking to see the whole setup
We have an amazing tour at this mine, you start the tour on a train, the same train they used to transport the miner's, once in the mine you get a close-up demonstration of how the mine workes by one of the original miners, he demonstrated some of the equipment so you saw and heard how hard the work was, after the mine you get to see the power house, this was where the air that powered all the equipment was made. Just a great tour and highly recommend it.
Such a great tour! We learned alot from Gord, a man who worked in the mine during the production years. He's so knowledgeable and charismatic. Both my wife and my 16 year old were rolling their eyes before the tour started, but once the train came to pick us up they were so excited. In fact my 16 year old asked a pile of questions after the tour because he was so interested in everything. Bring the family!
Really interesting tour - Dale the guide was so enthusiastic about the mine & relayed his experiences so well.
Great experience - it was nice and informative, and the staff are phenomenal! If you're wanting to go on the 1-hour tour (best suited for those with small children), know that it only runs once a day at 10 am and gets full quickly. I recommend being there right at 9:30 am when they open to ensure you get a spot. You cannot buy tickets ahead of time - you can purchase on the day of.

Kimberley Nature Park is a must for any outdoor enthusiast if you're anywhere close to here. The trails are in great condition with amazing views! The bike trails are top notch with a wide variety of difficulty and features. We have had an amazing time coming here and will always think of it as one of the best parks we've ever been to. Thank you to all that help make this park so incredible.
Visiting from Castlegar - great walk with Susan & Fisher🐾.
Nature park has so many great options to bike hike run or whatnot. So much space and places to visit. You can find a great view from almost anywhere! The Mountain Biking is 5* a little bit of everything. Try out thunder turkey it's a great sustained flowly downhill. If you are walking the dogs sunflower hill has A+ views. Enjoy.
This is an amazing park! Great for hiking, mountain biking and trail running. The grades are nice for walking and there are a couple nice viewpoints to find. I've been running through these trails and will be sad when by trip is over.
A plethora of beautifully maintained trails. Seemingly endless adventure and fun to be had here. A must do for any nature lover in the area.
Very well maintained network, there are trails for all skill abilities within the nature park. Check the Trail Forks app for an interactive map to help navigate through the many trails!
A great place to explore the outdoors and take in some epic views.
Great place to explore with plenty of trails! Light to moderate difficulty throughout the park.

Had a good time. The staff there was very welcoming. They had really interesting and challenging climbs (crack climbing for one route). At the time they had comp routes set up from last week for bouldering routes which were interesting to see and try! I tried the route that only one person climbed successfully during the comp and couldn't get pass the second move even though the staff in the front showed me the beta 😱
Best climbing gym ever!!!!! Great staff, especially the tall guy with a ponytail. The routs are exceptional, would 10/10 recommend going there if you’re ever in Kimberly.
A really amazing place to try out in Kimberly BC! So reasonably priced and your entry fee is good for the whole day if you want to go back for more fun later on. Highly recommend 👌
Great. Little walls for the kids with kid themed holds. Bigger more challenging stuff for more experienced climbers. Bouldering wall upstairs. Great staff, super friendly, very helpful, even though we have never climbed before and our kids are 2 and 4, we felt very comfortable there.
Kimberley is so fortunate to have a business like this one! Especially when it's a bit too miserable to be outside. My family has enjoyed so many great time here and have made wonderful memories. My husband and I love to do date nights here and then grab a drink at the shed when we're done. My son has been on the climbing team for 3 years now and my daughter has LOVED the spirit after school program. Now that my 4 year old is about to turn 5, she'll finally be able to join her sister in all the fun. The skills and confidence they have developed have been worth every single penny spent. Thank you to all the wonderful staff that make this place one of our favourite spots in Kimberley!
Kids had a ton of fun here. My youngest (6) is deathly affraid of heights and he was quickly trying to beat his sister to the top.
Wow! What an amazing climbing gym! Facilities, routes and staff are fantastic. Better than any climbing wall in Vancouver. A good selection of easy, medium and difficult routes with both auto belay, belay and lead climbing. I wish we found it earlier.
Great place! Staff were very friendly and helpful with teaching the basics to our kids.

My wife and I spent a few hours in Kimberley on our way through the area. One of the highlights of our short time there was our visit to the Heritage Museum. We were particularly interested in learning more about the mining history of the area. There was plenty of information and history about the Sullivan Mine, and the knowledge of Marie was limitless. Thank you.
This museum is about the size of two classrooms with a smattering of artefacts (mining, historic cooking stuff, glass bottles, memoribilia of Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana, some local legends, and a lot of china sets). They artefacts are mostly labelled, which is appreciated. But the museum host was very intent on conversation and while we appreciated the help we never got a chance to just look around and read or talk to each other. It was quick and I am sure of great interest to locals as so many of the displays required knowledge of the town, but for an outsider the $4 price was not worth it.
A lovely mix of photo's, memorabilia and exhibits to illustrate Kimberley's mining history and evolution into a tourism based city. Who knew a Kimberley climber made it to Everest? Accessible by wheelchair (lift at rear I believe) and allowed my service dog.
Fun place with lots of history. Our guide was very keen. Maybe too keen. I now know more about Kimberley and its history than I need to know.
website says 9 am today Saturday Aug. 24 2023 post on building says 10:00 a.m. gave up at 10:40 watched others try to visit also. this is not the first time with no hours matching up.
I’ve grown up in Kimberley, lived through the closing of the mine and now the reclamation and revitalization of a town. Having a history museum in our city is a blessing and a privilege.
It is a good view of Kimberley's, Marysville's, and Chapman Camp's history when mining was a major growth enterprise.
There are a many artifacts here over 100 years old. A visit here is a must if they way we lived and the appliances we used to live is of interest.

My wife and I biked 20 km’s from this location to the first bridge and that was enough for us, we own bikes but in no way are cyclists. What a wonderful thing for community to have a trail like this with air pumps, miscellaneous tools and outhouses available along the way.
Google maps takes you right to the Northstar trail head parking lot on the Cranbrook side. There is a clean washroom there if need one. The trail to Kimberly is paved and well maintained. There are beautiful views and lots of tree lined pathway. A fantastic 50 km out and back!
A nice paved trail that still allows you to be surrounded by nature! This 26 km trail is good for all ages. My dogs and I love walking the trail on a nice sunny day. Lots of areas where you can stop, park your bike and sit on a bench to enjoy the phenomenal views. Accessible all year round for whatever your heart desires! Biking, roller blading, walking, cross-country skiing, YOU NAME IT!
Great trail, paved the whole way and kilometer markers all the way there and back. Beautiful views and toilets along the route.
I ride the world, this match’s anything I do in Europe, too bad it’s not 100 km or more longer . My compliment on building it and maintaining it thank you 🇨🇦🚴‍♂️ Charles Mulder
Super fun fully paved biking trail between Cranbrook & Kimberly! It’s slightly more uphill going from Cranbrook to Kimberly so I recommend going that way then coming back from Kimberly to Cranbrook. It took me about an hour and a half on the way there with a few stops to take photos & an hour 15 the way back!
Excellent Rail Trail. Plenty of wildlife, beautiful vistas of the St Mary River. Great towns at each end with plenty of restaurants and museums.
Great trail system! Highly recommended.

Such a beautiful place to relax and take in the nature around you. I visited in the fall when many flower beds had been emptied. There was also a greenhouse with nothing inside. I imagine that in the spring and summer seasons there would be even more to see and enjoy. One thing that left me puzzled was an empty can of diced tomatoes up here. Less curious about the "how" it got up here, but why would you have a can of diced tomatoes?
I've been to Kimberley a few different times in my life and never been here (or even knew about it). It is well worth a stop! I think the garden is run by volunteers and it shows, but if you ask me, it adds to the charm. Many of the flowers we perennials, which appeals to me. There were several different areas so it was fun to explore. There was no one else at the gardens when we were there, save for two young deer that were relaxing under a tree! If you like visiting gardens, you should visit this place!
Beautiful park. So many amazing colours. This place would be good to visit spring into fall. Suggested donation bin is on site at entrances. They also sell hanging baskets of flowers. It was a lot larger of an area than we were expecting.
A very beautiful place to visit. Parking availability isnt great, but we were able to park on site none the less. The volunteers are very friendly, social and welcoming. We had run into a snake on the grounds and weren't sure what it was, so we went and talked to the volunteers about it and they went and investigated and determined it was just a garder snake. They were very excited about the snake as it was the first one that had been spotted on the grounds this year.
Beautifully maintained gardens and worth the visit! It’s a very nice 15 minute walk from downtown. The walk up from Howard Street is great but a little rougher terrain.
Hmmm, what happened to the Cominco garden? Kimberley tourism, I think you should take this off your tourism page. This is not a destination. It is a nice little green space for the hospital and carehome and shouldn't be considered a tourist attraction. What happened?
Such beautiful, well cared for gardens. I enjoyed my visit a lot.
Flowers so lovely they almost don't look real.

Our favourite antique store in the Kootenays, such an excellent selection with dedication to providing true Canadian vintage and antique pieces. There’s really something for everyone, and we’re always greeted so warmly by the ladies who work there. Thank you!!
I had fun visiting this shop. I found some nice treasures, but I also enjoyed the wide selection of good antiques here. I will definitely stop in again.
One of my favorites places in town 🧡 great varieties and amazing customer service
First time visit for us and it certainly won’t be the last. We had heard a lot about the place and we were excited to finally get there. The charming ladies behind the counter were awesome and the ambiance of the shop was extraordinary. We made a couple of purchases that we are very pleased about. Looking forward to going back soon.
I have been here quite a few times over the last few years and I have always seen so many cool things! Wendy and Janet are absolutely incredible as well. My girlfriend and I recently went to look around, and she saw a beautiful vintage dress. Wendy and Janet were extremely kind to let her try it on before she bought it. I found a very nice film camera with a lot of equipment, and they allowed me to check out all of it before I decided to buy it. They even gave me a discount on the set as well which I greatly appreciated. Overall, excellent store owned by incredible people. :)
What a unique shop! A must visit in the platzl for vintage lovers.
Great little antique store with lots of knick knacks. We visit every time we come to the Platzl in Kimberley. Friendly owners with cool vibe.
This is a must visit when exploring Kimberley! You could spend hours looking at all of the incredible retro, vintage and antique treasures (and some cool new pieces from local artists!). The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and the ladies working there were so kind. On this visit I found a vintage Avon bottle to gift to my mom and some retro comic books and action figures for my boyfriend. Can't wait for my next visit!

Happy to see the venue used in a number of ways, including indi movies on Tuesday night!
Cute little gallery that is pay what you will, there was a bunch of felt based art pieces there most of which were for sale, a very unique showing though small, there is a second floor but there was nothing up there. If there was a charge it would probably be a 2 star but for free to kill 15 minutes walking around Kimberly it was nice
Amazing gallery with local and international artists! Always amazed with the quality and organization of the gallery. There's also a theater upstairs which I've seen a few plays at and it's lovely as well. Lastly the summer camps are amazing, I highly recommend them!
Great shows of all Sorts!!
C64 has been and still is a great arts and cultural centre. Before then, an armoury building (so I'm told) that held community dances. It has (and continues) to provide culture to Kimberley BC.
Centre 64 is a wonderful little gallery located in Kimberley, BC. They not only put on art shows but they have a theater for film screening and they also offer painting workshops. They just recently put in an elevator to make the theater wheelchair accessible.
Great place for the local art scene. Some incredibly talented people in this town.
Surprising variety for a small town arts centre. Always something engaging.
