Really great quick service and really good food. The fries are the best. Really good atmosphere.
Excellent food! :) I am gluten intolerant, and I made sure to let the waitress know. Madeline is amazing ! She's a great waitress, always smiling, and really aware of my allergen ! And thank you to the owner Diane, to always make awesome gluten-free food!
Love playing this beautiful 18-hole course. Beautiful shape already - 2 beer carts were a bonus - short wait times and friendly service.
Nice course, they have both a halfway hut and a cart girl. Open to anyone. New push cart rentals available as well as gas powered carts. Tons of wildlife. Some greens are challenging and some open wide fairways. New seeding machine being used to increase fairway grass patch repair. Great place to hold tournaments and club house has great food also!
Only one handicap parking stall stall. There were at least 5 people in the club house for lunch could have used handicap parking. Parking itself was very poor. I had to drop off my guest who used a walker at the front door and then park 2 blocks away. Another guest had to send her soup back because it was cold. Par 3 lunch was very good as well as the chicken and cheesecake.
Played nine holes in late august. I must say this might have been the most beautiful and fun courses that Ive played in manitoba and let me tell you, Ive played in PLENTY of courses in my time of golf. stopped at the half way hut at the end of my game and was met by a very wonderful and kind young lady. I think her name way lotus. I must say top tier service and will definitely be coming back.
Fairways were dead full of weeds and dry, rock hard. Paid full green fees (same as high priced well maintained course). Thought our cart was going to die the whole time ran super rough.. pin placements were insane never had as many three or four putts in my entire 20 years of golfing. I won’t be spending a dime on that course again. Crazy thing is they are right beside a river no excuses for not watering!
Lunch was disappointing. Inquired if there is egg in the veggie burger but they can't tell you because they don't keep the box it comes in.... Ordered the Buddha bowl expecting it to be similar to other Buddha bowls however it's literally a bowl with handfuls of spinach (probably straight from the bag) with quinoa, edamame (best part) 2 sugar snap peas, 1/2 unripe avocado and 5 slivers of old red cabbage. Those I was with enjoyed their lunch, swiss mushroom burger and hot roast beef, and quesadilla. would recommend for anyone with any allergies, food restrictions or specific dietary needs. Decor was basic, not too clean and menus were falling apart. Server was ok, friendly but not very knowledgeable.

We visited last spring during my year-long stay in Manitoba. The park, though modest, is close to a charming street with nearby shops and local restaurants. The museum installed historic ships and delightful exhibits. Although I am unsure if they can accommodate certain needs like wheelchair and stroller to make it more accessible to everyone. Nearby, Selkirk Park offers recreational facilities, picnic areas, playgrounds, and scenic walking trails, washrooms, and probably a great fishing spot too. There is ample free parking space.
A very unique experience. Lots of different areas to explore. Highly recommend!
Picked the perfect day to go there. Was quiet and I enjoyed myself. I found it interesting and informative. Will go again.
Great place to discover maritime history on Lake Winnipeg since the beginning of the 1900s. You can go inside the ships and learn about the passengers who journeyed on the lake before trains made their appearance in the area. Next the a very nice park with a natural pool. Don't miss it.
Went for the ghost walk and was not disappointed! So very interesting that I am planning a trip back again to see the whole museum in the day time and enjoy even more of Manitoba's nautical history.
The Halloween Haunt was super fun! Now I actually want to see the museum in the daytime. I'm glad that I took the opportunity to check it out since I was in town visiting my uncle. It was well worth the admission, and the pumpkin/white chocolate chip cookie from the cafe was well worth the $3. It was hard to choose a flavor. The experience was a bit short, though thrilling, so I recommend making it an addition to your Selkirk agenda. I personally wouldn't drive the distance just to attend this attraction, but there are other things you can add to make it worth your while.
Fascinating look at Lake Winnipeg's maritime history. The museum isn't fancy, but it's so cool to go onto these old ships and get a feel for what life was like when Lake Winnipeg was bustling with commercial activity.
Good experience. Very interesting how those ships were made back in the day. Cheap entrance. Free for kids Be careful, some steps are very steep. Also watch your kids very closely as some railings are easy to slip through.

first things first, BOOK YOUR TRIP WITH DAN FROM CATEYE WITH 0 HESITATION! my girlfriend and I went out on our first ever guided fishing trip and it was truly an unforgettable experience catching delicious and monstrous greenback-Walleye. Dan knows everything about these fish and so much about life as well. it was a blast to be able to hangout with him for a day full of great conversation, laughs, plenty of fish, and even a few adrenaline filled screams seeing a 26” walleye casually in the net after just minutes of fishing. It’s exactly a week from our trip out and we still talk about it every day, and have a freezer full of walleye ;)
Unbelievable production we had on the red river with Dan as the producer and fish whisperer. We had 2 adult anglers and 2 juniors one at 8 years old and the second is 6 years old, all of us were kept busy and worn out from hauling in 5+ master angler class channel catfish each and no worries about sharing rods or who's turn it was because we had over 10 successfully landed double headers and multiple species. Dan's patience with us and the kids was greatly appreciated on our 2 full days. Highly recommend for ANYONE who wants to catch world-class fish!
An amazing Guide and an amazing place. We had so much fun and caught world class channel catfish one after another my wife and I each caught roughly 20 fish. It was nonstop action highly recommend cat eye to everyone!
My father and I recently had the pleasure of spending the morning with an exceptional catfish fishing guide “Dan” who truly made the experience unforgettable. From the moment we set out on the water, it was clear that Dan was not only accommodating but also incredibly knowledgeable about the local fishing spots and techniques. We spent a thrilling four hours on the water, and I can honestly say it was non-stop fishing. The guide had us reeling in catfish left and right, expertly advising us on bait selection and fishing methods. The enthusiasm and passion for fishing were evident, making the experience even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a fantastic day of catfishing with someone who knows their stuff, I highly recommend fishing with Dan! His dedication to ensuring a successful and fun outing is unmatched. I can’t wait for my next trip!
Our group of 4 had an excellent time ice fishing and learning with Dan from Cat Eye Outfitters. He is very knowledgeable, has the best ice fishing gear money can buy and is patient with teaching the techniques required to catch some of the biggest walleye in the world. Keep in mind, like any outdoors sport, the “trophy” is not always guaranteed. Dan tried his very best to get us to catch the 30”+ walleye. We had fun and learned a lot none the less. We just got back home and already booked our trip for next year. Hope you all enjoy Cat Eye Outfitters as well as we did.
We booked with Dan at Cat Eye Outfitters as a gift for my son’s 10th birthday. Dan took them out for an 8hr day of catfishing and they all had the best time!!! I was told they caught around 60 catfish. My son caught the biggest of the day which made him so happy. Dan is an excellent guide and has great communication before the trip to ensure everything goes smoothly the day of. 100% recommend booking with Dan for your next guiding adventure
Memorable experience fishing with my son, brother and niece. Boated multiple master Catfish, double headers and even some other species caught. If you're looking for keeper sized cats, this is not the trip for you. These fish are big, and man do they fight. Dan has the knowledge and gear to get you on great Cats. His patience with the kids was great too. Highly recommend as a guide for family trips. Thanks again for the memories Dan!
My dad and I spent the day fishing with Dan on the Red River fishing for Channel Catfish. I was gifted the trip from my husband. Dan was a wonderful host, he told us all about the history of the area we fished as well as taught us about channel cats and their quirks. We caught multiple large cats throughout the day, even a few masters. Dad and I had a wonderful day and would definitely book with Dan again for channel cats or walleye!

Why wouldn’t you stop to see Chuck? He’s splendid! And right in front of a restaurant so people get to watch you take selfies with him
Chuck the Channel Cat is a prominent fiberglass statue located in Selkirk, Manitoba, celebrating the city's rich fishing heritage. Erected in 1986, the statue stands approximately 33 feet tall and is named in honor of Chuck Norquay, a local fisherman who tragically drowned in the Red River.
I'm thoroughly flabbergasted by folks awarding Chuck any less than five stars. I traveled to Selkirk from Atlanta, GA to catch 30 inch catfish out of the Red River of the North with childhood buddies, and nothing could have put the icing on the cake more than standing next to a 33 foot fiberglass statue of a grinning catfish, complete with a dedication to a local fisherman. Plus, it's right out in front of Smitty's, where we ate twice and enjoyed great breakfast and vintage Canadian friendliness. You can actually behold the statue while you eat your eggs and pancakes. So, sorry, but Chuck the Channel Cat is the bomb, eh.
It's unfortunate that you can't get a decent picture of it without including restaurant signage in the shot.
Such a cool satue.
Exactly what it says it is and pretty much looks like it does in pictures. Nothing to complain about other than that it could be in a nicer location for photos. 4 stars because it doesn't look much like an actual channel catfish.
Five starts for this celebrity catfish, he is a fantastic beast.
It's just outside a restaurant, which is ok but not what we were expecting. Not worth the stop unless you're in the area for other stuff

We were looking for something to do that would entertain both young kids and teens. Cool Dozen Micro Golf delivered. The course was challenging without being impossible. We especially liked the waterhole. What a cool atmosphere with the tropical setting. LOVED the glow in the dark effect. We all had a good time and it was reasonably priced! This is a truly exceptional miniature golf course.
Liked going there and was a good activity. Was planning and booking a party there and apparently they now have been closed for a couple of months. That's to bad

Excellent Service and excellent food. Beer is very reasonably priced. I had the Pickerel Dinner. Awesome fish supper to be honest, and I will return
Celebrated my birthday at the Boot and it was amazing! The food was delicious the atmosphere amazing and the service outstanding! Highly recommend for anyone to come down and enjoy The Boot. They set up an amazing table for us, accommodated our large group of guests, And they created three amazing mocktail drinks For our little party. All of our guests were so happy with the service and the food We frequent the boot on a regular basis, the food never disappoints. If you want to get steak, this is the place to go to.
Amazing experience. Highly recommend the ribbies, extremely tender and flavourful. We had steak, pickerel and burgers; everybody enjoyed their meals. Service was fast and attentive.
This place has been a favourite of mine for like 30 yrs - the current setup and recent renos look fantastic. The food is always great and the staff are always amazing. Thank you Conrad for keeping the small town vibe and feel alive…and be sure to keep Grant on your list of performers!
We always enjoy the tasty eats! Staff are friendly & always accommodating. Definitely a local favourite!
I dined solo, so saddling up to the bar was perfect. I ordered the ribs Greg’s special half rack with borscht and Caesar salad . Borscht was a deliciously flavoured and perfect temperature. The salad and ribs were also delicious. The server was friendly and attentive. A great experience from start to finish.
Seriously, you need to eat here!!! Their food was very good. Everything was delicious from the croutons in the cesar salad to the perfectly cooked ribeye....omg and I almost forgot those fall off the bone ribbies so good!!! Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, and was around when we needed her.
Going for a cruise you may want to wander on over to The Boot Tavern just on the outskirts of the fishing town of Selkirk in East Selkirk. The mural on outside is a good indicator of the good vibes inside. Artwork of the sexy boots displayed on the doors to fishing huts along the water line gives a good example they are a part of community supporting artists 🎨. Art itself can be the musical talent playing while dining. Enjoyed a light plate of battered pickerel with a soothing lip smacking pasta salad which was so refreshing with flavor. There was a musician named Grant playing guitar & harmonica strumming out classic hits on an appreciation day. Had stopped in previously & was informed of events such as Mother's Day Steak & Lobster weekend for $45, & 30 year celebration pickerel special $14. Had stopped in & noticed their Caesar sign glowing okay let's giver a try! BLOWN away was tasteful heaven! So tried the prime rib Minestrone Soup. Very comforting left feeling warm & cosy & not breaking the bank! Have heard they are known for their prime rib dinner, looking forward to a special night out in a rich wood cosy atmosphere. The staff will take care of you with their country style charm, smiling with welcoming hospitality. Looking forward to another visit to relax with a Jeffrey's Greek pizza with a beautiful crust like no other. Stop in, dine in & enjoy food at a reasonable cost, sooo worth it. One of their specials was bat wings, the sauce looked & smelled incredible! They have many selections of sauces to choose from. Good selection to try again & again! 😋 Will definaltey venture out again, glad I stopped in!

A quiet place along the river. A place 2 collect your thoughts and clear your mind. Come sit on one of the many benches to sit and watch the birds, reflect on the meaning of life.
A nice relaxing place to visit either by car or on bike. Quiet and a nice view of the Red River. The church was open for viewing.
Celebrated Advent Lessons and Carols. Beautiful historic church.
The Acoustics are really good here. We sang the song How Great Though Art in here. Sounded very beautiful. Very interesting looking at all the head stones. It amazes me how close to the river the church is.
peace place and great view to the bridge
Haunting and well maintained piece of Red River history. Well worth seeking out and making a trip there.
Beautiful historic building. I was able to help put away Christmas decorations and got to see the inner working and the historic craftsmanship of a church over 100 years old!!
It was interesting to see the building and imagine all that had gone on through the years. Built in 1852-1854. That is a lot of history and service to the community!

What an absolute gem! A beautiful gallery. Audrey was so pleasant and informative. It was our first visit and we will most certainly be back soon. Do yourself a favor and check this art gallery out!
Beautiful building with so much beautiful art. Friendly staff. 2024 calendars have arrived
Nice local gallery — bought this painting by E. Sandercock and this unique antique button bracelet
A great little gallery located on Main street in Selkirk that is often missed by many when they visit. Gwen Fox Gallery has a great number of local artists from surrounding communities, a great giftshop if you are need of a personal and handmade item from pottery, jewelry to all types of glass art, pens and paintings from different mediums. The all member's show is wonderful and the artists here are so friendly and supportive of one another. Buy local and support the economy and visit this little gem of a shop!
The Gwen Fox Art Gallery is a nonprofit charitable organization and is the premier gallery in Selkirk Manitoba. The artists are local to the region and the art changes each month. The spectrum of art encompasses every style and represents multiple cultures. The art in the gallery is for sale and they also have art in their gift shop which includes art, jewelry, home decor, sculptures, greeting cards, carvings, fused glass, raku , wood turning, metal work, books, and local souvenirs.

Such an old little theater but they have done some major updates, 3D and sound system. Remember it without that and glad they did the upgrade. Always seem to have the newer movies to compete with the Winnipeg theaters. Nice landmark for the city of Selkirk. Here is a cool pic after the last snow fall.
Love this one screen small town theatre. They've upgraded to show 3D movies and have upgraded sound. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The popcorn and drinks are on par with all theatres. I love being able to support a hometown theatre vs. driving to Winnipeg.
My aunt wanted me to go to this theater with her, I agreed. And I thought that the place was retro and cool, I wouldn't change anything about it. I noticed that the other reviews say things like it needs new seats or something. Once stuff like that is done, then people will be complaining about the prices going up to fix all that stuff. I would be happy with the way it is 👍
Not the newest theater around but has the small-town feel that you can only get in an older Theatre. The only thing I wish they had were newer seats. Overall is a nice little Theatre worth the drive from Winnipeg. With all of the Mega Theatre out there Landmark Selkirk is a refreshing change from The Hectic Big Box Theatre.
I was absolutely horrified about how filthy the place is. How about management lead by example of the youthful staff working there and show some pride in the place. This is an iconic and ONLY theater in Selkirk it would be nice to keep it around and encourage the people to see a movie locally.
The admission and concession prices are significantly less than most theatres in Winnipeg, and the picture and sound quality are excellent. Unlike many of the big chain theatres in the city, who dim their projector bulbs unnecessarily, the projection quality at the Garry is always crisp and bright.
This theatre has seen better days. Seats are gross, floors are sticky all around neglect. I love to support local but this theater needs some desperate attention! And very pricey to say the least.
Amazing service!! Theatre staff were very funny and helpful making the overall movie experience great! Will definitely be coming back soon!
