We were in Powell River for the Prisma festival in June and we booked the 6 hr tour up in Lund to see more of the area. Jan was a terrific guide...and patient with us as we ate cinnamon rolls first (definitely try Nancy's Bakery right below the Adventures office!) Jan was friendly and knew so much history about the islands and wildlife. Even though it's not a whale-watching trip we got to see a pod playing in the sound, plus numerous birds, bald eagles, fish, sea lions, and seals. Despite some drizzle at the end, the provided jackets Jan gave us were very warm and waterproof, plus he has blankets and binoculars and several info sheets about the animals around us. I was surprised how clear the water is and it makes sense why people snorkel up there! There are so many gorgeous sites in and above the water in Desolation Sound! We definitely recommend these tours!
We had an amazing guided multi day tour with Terracentric this summer. Our guide (Jan) was incredibly knowledgeable and helped make sure we had a fun and safe time. He was flexible with where we wanted to go and how much paddling we wanted to do each day. The food he made was phenomenal. Highly recommend these folks!
A very great tour, nature, history. The guide was telling an interesting story while we were "sailing" in a zodiac. Desolation Sound, a lovely place. Steller sea lions on Major Rock, some seals. No whales. But we enjoyed it the 3.5 hour.
Unforgettable and magical experience with my teenage sons. We joined the sunset cruise of desolation sound. The zodiac vessel was smooth and fast. Our guide, Jan, was friendly, knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We saw so many eagles. We were really surprised. There were seals and many kinds of birds. The beautiful landscape of Desolation Sound took our breath away. The end of our tour was beyond special when orcas swam near us and breached three times! What?! Understanding that humans make animals shy, it would have been ok just to do the boat ride and see the beautiful landscape. We saw so much more. Thank you for the experience.
Three friends and I did a 3-night guided kayak trip with Terracentric, and it was incredible! The admin support in preparation of the trip was excellent and the information provided was great to help us prepare. Our guide was Jans, and he was a complete joy to have as part of our crew. As part of the tour he cooked all the food which was amazing beyond expectations and included coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizers, desserts, and snacks. They were all delicious with amazing variety and had personal touches of home baked elements. His expertise pushed our inexperienced crew to comfortably reach destinations we never could have without his guidance. Overall, our experience with Terracentric was amazing, from planning to finish, and I'd highly recommend anyone who wants to try it book with them!
Me and a few friends went on a 4 day guided kayak tour through Desolation sound, and it was absolutely stunning! The boats and equipment were well maintained and our guide was fantastic. We're all pretty inexperienced, but our guide allowed us to see and do things that we could never have hoped for on our own. The food was also incredible and way beyond what we expected. Highly recommended overall!
I cannot say more good things about this adventure company. Our guide was so knowledgeable and amenable to making any adjustments we wanted to the itinerary. We had a great day on the water with him and saw so many gorgeous sites up Desolation Sound! We would definitely book with thos company again!
We loved this tour of Desolation Sound. Jan was a great guide and provided us a spectacular lunch from his garden! I was injured on the trip (make sure to wear closed toe shoes), Jan did a great job with first aid and helped bandage my toe nicely. A gorgeous day on the sound with a delicious healthy lunch!

My sister and I recently went on the five day four night cruise to desolation sound. It was one of the most amazing trips of our lives. Aside from the beautiful scenery and wildlife we were able to see, the crew on the boat were amazing and accommodating. They went the extra mile to make sure everyone on the boat was happy and comfortable. The food at the lodge and on board the cruise was amazing, and my glass was never empty. Humfrey lodge is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. I can’t wait to return next year!
Trip of a lifetime. It was on our bucket list and did not disappoint! The crew were attentive, knowledgeable, professional and were very much a part of making this one of our most memorable trips ever. The lodge , though a bit rustic was charming and in a breathtaking location. Within 2 days we saw a humpback whale, a pod of orcas ( numerous times) and grizzlies feeing on salmon in the river. Simply an incredible trip!
Tom and I still have good memories of our trip last fall. The boat, staff, food and hotels were spot on for the trip and locations. Best of all the weather and fellow travellers made for a fun and special time.
Superb all round. From Captain Lance through all the crew both afloat and ashore, truly outstanding. The food and its presentation set a high standard for Desolation Sound cruising.
Best Hidden Gem/Lodge in Desolation Sound I had a peaceful 2 nights stay , will definitely come back and recommend!

Fabulous operation. Very kind and courteous on the phone, and more than happy to answer all my questions about the area. The boat operator was top notch, and the whole experience was seamless. Great stuff!
used this service to savary island and return. service every hour. short ride, only 15 minutes office staff and boat staff was friendly park at the top of the hill before Lund
They arranged the land taxi on savary for the incorrect time for a large family group. The land taxi guys were great and came to the rescue, rushing to get us all there. The salty lady at the front berated us and blamed us for the wrong time. Then yelled at us for not unloading our bags properly when we just followed the boat guys instructions. If we were doing something wrong, he should have communicated that to us. Overall, abysmal communication. If you choose them, confirm your details multiple times and expect to be yelled at by the office person.
Absolutely rude and inconsiderate. Not friendly what so ever (people in the office). I would never recommend this place nor trust them with your family! Do better!
We took the Lund water taxi to Savary Island and the experience from booking to the actual trip was fantastic. Everyone was kind and friendly, I would highly recommend.
A group of us took over the Savary Island Resort with most of the group arriving from Lund and 2 of us arriving from Campbell River. Our group taking the Lund Water Taxi and then the land taxi service had no issues. Lund Water Taxi also runs the ONLY land transportation service on the island. The two of us coming from Campbell River were told that we couldn't book the land taxi service in advance, but had to call at 8am the morning of the day we needed service. We had no problem with the pick up from the wharf and delivery to our destination. For coming home, I followed the same instructions. I called at 8am and said we needed to be at the wharf in time to load for our charter boat leaving at noon. They said they would send someone at 11:15am. I paid via credit card right then and there. At 11:30am, I called the office as no one had arrived to pick us up. They said a driver was on the way. At 11:35 another driver dropped someone off at our location and called their dispatch on the radio for me. He came back and said they don't have a record of your booking. You should call the office. At 11:45am, I called the office again stating that our charter was leaving at noon and we had no other way to get to the wharf. The person on the phone was rude and told me that the driver was coming and that it was my fault because I booked at the last minute. I WOULD HAVE BOOKED IT MONTHS IN ADVANCE, but was told I was not allowed to. ARRRRGH! At 11:55am, a driver finally arrived. Thankfully, I had been able to reach our charter captain and he was willing to wait for us to get there. If anyone wants a summer business idea on Savary Island - open up a taxi service, maybe renting golf carts and bikes too.
Incredibly kind people running the water taxi. On time, efficient, helpful people. Lucky to have them as the #1 option.
Great service. Once you get to Savary Island they have taxis to take you to your final destination.

Visited in the winter for a short quiet walk, lovely views of the water & beyond. Please visit Respectfully while in these areas. The left over shells pepper the area & the beach so be mindful of your pups paws. You’re right next to an industrial wharf too so I’d imagine it gets quite busy in the summer time. But still looks like a sweet spot to pitch up a tent and go exploring.
This campground isn't bad, but it's noisy and crowded. It draws a lot of day use vehicles for Clamming on the beach and other boat related activities. This creates a lot of vehicle and people noise as they set up and take down every day. The campsites are also unusually close together for a BC parks site. This makes the noise worse and reduces that feeling of privacy. I'll take the trade for a beach front site but none of these sites are beach front. They are 'beach near'. The whole place is also very narrow with low hanging branches and a moderately challenging drive to access. There are nice things about it, such as the feeling of remoteness and the ocean air. The views from the beach are great as well. The cell signal is functional for most needs. Just come here in the shoulder season when it's less crowded unless your heart is set on joining the crowds to clam or boat. It could be fairly serene without all that, but with it, the place is more trouble than it's worth.
There are not many camping spots. But if you land one, it's a fantastic campground. It's very close to lake access. Definitely wear water shoes when you get there. The sunset is absolutely spectacular! It is also walking distance to Laughing Oysters. Must visit - the seafood is absolutely fantastic!
What a lovely little beach. You can see the inlet and barely see desolation sound! There are a lot of barnacles so bring some sort of beach shoe. Saw a couple black birds, that w was nice. Would highly recommend! Parking is 4 minute walk from beach. Did not see any handi-accessable way to beach but there was a pier!
Small out of the way campground. Can be very quiet especially at night. Beach area is fairly rocky.
The Laughing Oyster Restaurant's view is Okeover Arm. The view and food are awesome. Service is impeccable, warm & friendly. If visiting Powell River then this is a place to see.
Wonderful place to visit. We kayaked over to a beautiful sandy beach.
A great place to camp, have a picnic, explore the beach and so much more. I appreciate the picnic tables and fire grill pits!

It is all about the Sunshine Coast Trail.
Beautiful! Several ways in from the Lund area and you can feel like you're miles from anywhere. Gorgeous.
If you have a good 4WD vehicle with thick tires, drive down the Sarah Point road. The grades are insane, but the payoff is a sweet back country campsite along a park trail. There's a good chance you'll have to walk a km or so. Bring Bear Spray.
Beautiful park. Feather point is a great campsite. And the sunshine coast trail along the south part looks cool.
Can’t say anything else other than “RELAXATION !!”
You would came to see !
Nice views n off the beatin path
I'm speechless with its beauty
