One of my favorite places in PEC! I'm coming every time I visit. The ciders are delicious. Their ice ciders are also incredibly good. They got a medal for their 2017 millésime. You can have pizza and there are gluten free options and you can enjoy it with cider by the vineyards with the view on the lake! What else? The service is excellent! Free parking. You can only have a good time here! Come in and see for yourself!
This is a great place from early spring where it’s too cold to sit outside (so they make mini fires) to middle of the summer with their various ciders and menu options. There are always plenty of Instagram worthy photos with games and displays of the property. They make great gluten free options, which is nice for the celiac community. Locally owned and Operated, it is a county must!
Went there in the middle of the summer. Food and cider were very nice and flavourful. Definitely recommend for a day trip and cider tasting with fair price and nice environment.
They have a really great place, not just for tastings, but also for outdoor games and activities. We went with friends and had a great time. The only thing we found a bit strange was that the tasting portions were quite large, and the prices were high for that reason. You could easily get drunk just from the tasting, which seemed odd to us since it’s supposed to be just sampling. The ciders tasted good, and they occasionally offer seasonal ones that make it worth stopping by if it’s on your way. But fair warning , if you’re only aiming to taste, sharing one tasting board with another person would be a smart idea.
Oh my goodness this is absolutely an incredible destination for all things sips of delicious cider, and yum of pizza overlooking the lake, on a road trip to Wapoos in PECounty. You must visit as they have warm hospitality and incredible tasting cider! Cheers, Spicy Jan
Awesome experience! Great cider! The could not try their restaurant as it had over 1.5hr wait time. I would recommend they add more tables (and increase profits!).
Great spot in the county. The cider is good and recently they've expanded their menu to include beer and cocktails. They've long has pizza but now they also have tacos and charcuterie. Did I mention the view?
We did two tasting flights and loved every single cider we tried. Bought a little jug of the watermelon cider. There was live music, great service, beautiful view over the vineyard looking at lake Ontario, and a very relaxing visit.

Our tour guide was extremely funny and personable. She showed us the beautiful barn interior. The wine was delicious and the gentleman who helped us with the tasting was great. Will definitely be back again. Worth the trip!
Lovely winery with friendly staff. Located in a 150 year old barn, there were several levels and areas of tastings. We arrived on a wet Saturday late morning and were the only ones inside, so we had a great experience. Wines samples were served with small nibbles and we were told a out the history of the winery. They are set up with multiple areas and we were told all were used for tasting. The barn can also be booked for weddings and private parties. There was a small patio outside that looked like it would be a nice spot to rest. I recommend a visit. I enjoyed the wines and purchased a Riesling to take home. Most wineries wave the tasting fee if you purchase a bottle or two.
Excellent location in this old dairy barn. Wonderful romantic ambiance. Only two wines available during our visit... 2016 Riesling and Wicked White. We took one of each. Well worth a visit while checking out the restaurants and local attractions.
Cute barn and winery. Cool spot for weddings or group get together. They have lots of wine too
A nice little winery with a sales area located inside a really cool and very old barn. We tried a flight of wines here and enjoyed most of them. They let us have a look around upstairs, and it seems they encourage most people to take a look up there as it's quite historic.
Definitely missing this winery. Drinking my last 2014 Cab Sauv tonight, along with a smoked and grilled New York strip dinner. Smooth, tart and delicious, very dry. Was told originally that 3-4 years was ideal, but this is 6 years and is still fantastic! Only a single 2013 Pinot Noir left. Sad. Now to really enjoy this last glass.......................
Would have been a perfect visit, if not for a "glitch" at the payment line. We were overcharged, probably not on purpose, and then given attitude by the cashier as if it was our fault that she charged us for the wrong wines. Anyways, cute place but check your bill before you pay.
Lovely chat and tour with owner of winery. Informative and friendly. Reisling was delicous and brought home. Lots of history and would pick up wine again.

September 2024 This winery had great wines at reasonable prices. The employee whose name I forget was from the area, and very friendly and knowledgable. Because this winery is small, none are sold at the LCBO, only here. I like that. A quiant patio, and small boutique, it was a nice change from the bigger wineries in the region.
Had an absolutely lovely tasting experience here this afternoon! Got to try 6 different wines, all delicious. Staff was helpful and friendly but not pushy at all. Tasting area was quiet and relaxed and lovely to rest and sip. Loved our experience. Left with two bottles for home as well! Can’t recommend more! 🍷
🍷 Spent an amazing afternoon at @delgattoestates, one of the true gems of @visitthecountys! This authentic Italian family winery knows how to do winemaking right. Their Vidal is just 🤌🏻, and the red wines? For the terroir of the county you just have to taste them to believe how good they are. Plus, you can now catch live music on their patio every Saturday from 1-4 PM. Heidi treated us so well – it felt like being part of the family. Don't just take our word for it; you can grab every single wine to try online
This was my first visit to Del-Gatto Estates in Prince Edward County. A very nice surprise. The wine was exquisite especially the rose. It starts out like a rose but once in warms up it behaves like a red wine. The backyard patio was comfortable and pleasant. They had a three person band playing while a bridal party was enjoying themselves. It was a fun atmosphere. We had a chance to speak with the vintner and he was great to chat with. 👍☺️✌️
Small winery offering fantastic wines & engaging staff. We dropped by in Aug , the owner sat with us giving us the history of his Dragon fly wine....brought visiting family last week to enjoy the wine & atmosphere. A must stop for sure. C & D
We've been visiting PEC every year for nearly a decade and this is the first time we've visited this winery. We stayed nearby at Jackson Falls Inn so we decided to explore this part of the county. So glad we did because we found many wonderful places like this winery. When we went in we were greeted by Wendy. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. She listened to what we said and made thoughtful suggestions. We did a tasting of 3 reds and 3 whites. We enjoyed them all especially their Riesling and sparking, Bella Luna. The pergola out back is such a lovely spot to sit and relax while sampling some delicious wine. We're so glad we decided to come this way. We'll definitely be back!
Loved this out of the way, winery where the ambience was easy and Gary was a rockstar behind the bar. I purchased the most wine here as we loved the flavour profiles and respected the hard work of the wine maker!
We dropped in to Del-Gatto Estates on the the tail end of a small PEC wine getaway and it did not disappoint! Our wine steward was so attentive with us and knowledgeable of the history and characteristics of the different wine varietals. His personal touch added to the charm of this small batch winery. We received a truly personal experience which was lacking in some of the other wineries. Great work!

Mike and Christine’s winery is such a special place. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed—it was like walking into a gathering with old friends. The space, the energy, everything felt so warm and inviting. I was planning to pass on the red wine since I’m usually not a fan, but I decided to try the Cape Frank—and wow. It completely surprised me in the best way. I ended up buying two bottles! Hands down one of the best wines I’ve come across. Me and my friends felt like family while we were there. We’re already talking about our next visit. Cape Vineyards is a must—good wine, good vibes, great people.
I brought a car club here with 44 people. Owner Kristen was amazing in pulling off tastings for such a large group. Her wines were some of the best we’ve ever sampled in our 3 years of touring the county and most people left with a case of wine…it’s that good! Perhaps I should have kept her winery a secret? Everyone loved the lambs and Rottweiler puppies! Thanks for great visit Kristen!!!
We finally made it out to Cape Vineyards. It’s as far east as you can possibly go on the island. It’s the furthest winery east. We were pleasantly surprised. The wines were great as was the cider. And don’t get me started on the wine slushy! 😆 The surrounding grounds were pleasant and comfortable and you can you can today hello to the goats. If you’re lucky you might run into one of the resident cats called Sidney. So cute!! 😎👍
Mike was great at taking the time to explain all the bottles he was pouring. Great wine and very fun experience with all the animals. Came home with three bottles and will order more in the future
Really not one to leave a poor review, but was very disappointed with our experience here yesterday. Despite being the only people there, staff was barely present and hardly spoke to us despite our asking for recommendations for our tasting. Tasting was 20 dollars for 4 very meagre portions in plastic cups which we unsure if that was normal for the region as this was our first stop in the area, but now after visiting the four other wineries along the same route feels like highway robbery for both the quality and quantity provided. The experience did not feel special or luxurious at all compared to all other stops along the route. Not a vineyard I would return to or recommend to others.
Amazing wine with no undesirable aftertaste, no added sugar. All the wines are so easy to drink. We tried our first red bubbly wine ever and it was delicious. The owner is very knowledgeable and passionate about her craft.
Nice people running it. Casual place. Absolutely loved petting the sheep. The Riesling was really good.
Amazing little spot in waupoos ! The owner Kristen was an absolute legend. We had such a wonderful time chatting with her and hearing all about the farm life. She was down to earth and very generous. When I tell you … her wines were the best we tasted in PEC. We will be back again to visit. Thanks again for being amazing

I enjoy historical places such as this. You learn a lot about the history of the county. It’s free to enter and the surroundings are quite pleasant. It’s a self guided tour really because there aren’t any employees. You may run into resident artists who may be painting, sewing, crocheting etc 👍😎
September 2024 Unfortunately, this museum was closed when we got there. We walked around and learned a little by reading a historic plaque about the area.
I was extremely fortunate to be in the very capable hands of an enthusiastic summer student who new her history of Rose House. I would highly recommend going to this historic place.
Although situated in outskirts, it has many artifacts of the people who lived there.
Small but has many great artifacts and stories about original owners.
Nothing special But free So 5*
Use to go to this museum ever summer with girl guides we use to walk for the girl guide camp that’s use to be just down the street ... kinda sad the girl guide camp closed miss going
Visited twice during posted hours of operation, both times the doors were locked an no one was there.

We have heard of this place from fellow campers at a local campsite. So we decided to visit for some ice cream. Portions are enormous for the price compared to many ice cream shops that we've frequented. Cheese choices are plentiful and prices are fairly cheap. Well worth the trip. Staff is friendly and location is following and enforcing Covid-19 protocol.
Nice cheese shop to checkout. Lots of variety of cheeses, handcrafted jams, tarts, fudge and other goodies! You can even get some good deals (30% off) on cheese just because they were the end of the block!
Great selection of cheese and condiments made locally. Also available some knick knacks. Bought some curds which were fresh and squishy. Also a block of cheese. Nice waterfront next to it where families were also fishing. A return trip to the area brought us back here. One of the best places for a selection of cheeses. A must try is the maple one! They also have a variety of condiments some of which came home with me. They also carry many snack foods and munchables. And ice cream! I like to linger outside near the bridge as often see some interesting water fowl.
Beautiful little cheese shop, I can highly recommend the Smoked Gouda, it is so, so good, amazing. I was concerned overhearing a conversation about wether someone's children should be masked. Can only say as long as you and your staff are masked, safe, and following the guidance, if people who patronize your store, choose to risk themselves or their children, let them.
Tasty icecream. Flavourful, refreshing and sweet without being too rich. Both chocolate and orange cream flavors are good. Friendly sales person. The portions are very generous. The small is quite large and was only 4$.
Stopped in today on the way into town to grab some cheese, out first time we’ve been by that the store has been open. My husband tried the Shaw ice cream and was thrilled that it was EXCEPTIONALLY better than Kawartha Dairy which he does not like. They had two non dairy options as well which I will make it my mission to try (dairy allergy). I was happy to find my Pyramid Fermented products. Will be back.
Every kid in PEC grew up on Black Creek cheese, especially the curds. (Best when warm and squeaky.) The cheese was basically the same as it had been since the early 1900s. The medium cheddar was better than 99% of the old cheddar you find now. But ever since the fire in 2001, when they lost their starter, it's basically an ice cream shop that sells OK cheese and other people's baking. I believe it's owned by some megacorp now. Sad for a place that historically had so many cheese factories. There were five on Royal Street alone 100 years ago. Good place for a cone if you're out that way. Pre-fire curds (May, 2001) picture below.
Really enjoyed my experience, good service, cheese not too expensive and very good. They have the halloumi cheese that can be used on bbq or hot stone (raclette). Bonus, they have the kawartha ice cream at a very low price, ask to have it in a cup (not cone) and you will the biggest genereous portion you'll ever see

Great walk in Sandbanks. Well maintained with stairs and board walks.
Quiet spot with somewhat obstructed by vegetation views of the bay. An area of tall grass with wild turkeys, turkey vultures and all sorts of birds to listen to and spot. Sounds of crickets or rain drops can make this place a great spot for meditation.
Great view!!! County has let it run down. Lookout is not being maintained, sign is cut down and gone, only one picnic table left. The others are aged or cut out and gone
Nice view off the top and side of the mountain. Great place to throw the drone up and get a view not often seen. Not a ton to see but a nice vantage point.
A place to pull off the road and look out over Smiths Bay, Waupoos Island and beyond from a platform about 60m or so above the lake. Nothing fancy. There is the viewing platform and a single picnic table. Another little gem in the county to enjoy.
Beautiful view, even in the rain. Check it out when youre in PEC. Be careful with gps. Google maps put me on a tight & steep private road with no trespassing signs just prior to the lookout.
It's a small elevated lookout with a good view of the bay area. Would benefit from a higher platform because the trees have grown making the view smaller and smaller with time.
There is a view of the lake, but is somewhat overgrown. Perhaps use GPS to locate, as there is no signage.

How special to visit a cidery in spring! Beautiful blossoms, visited the lambs and baby goats up the hill. Cider is excellent. We put together a beautiful sampler basket to take to a charity auction. Something for everyone here!
Fantastic spot with an excellent array of ciders based on different types of apples - the Russet and Royal Gala ciders were particularly great. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable, and while we didn't have any food there, it looked and smelled amazing. Definitely worth a stop.
The cider and staff inside were absolutely wonderful and made us feel so taken care of. Unfortunately, as we made our purchase, we decided to walk over to Cressy next door. We began to leave the parking lot as the general manager was leaving his truck. He proceeded to scream at us to come back to our car as we were "leaving his establishment". I recognize the frustration of a crowded parking lot taking away from other customers. But we were the only ones there on a rainy morning. If this is truly that important to you, I would recommend investing in a sign. It would deliver the same message with better people skills.
I love this little place. Their cider is excellent. If you like apple cider, this is a great spot. If you don't, it will not be so great.
Great little cider sampling experience. Dryer ciders than the nearby County Cider and not quite the same atmosphere but nice none the less. We didn't walk away empty handed!
Loved this place! A great selection of ciders to choose from and all of them were delicious. Elderflower if you like something sweet and the lemonade one for those who like it a little drier. Tastings were extremely reasonable at $1 each. They also have a little country market with fresh fruit, veg, pickled things and fun finds. Do stop here and check out Waupoos winery across the road - all owned by the same family.
Kind folks running this store. I had a chance to go into the store slightly before open. There is a great variety of products, not just cider. I purchased some local cheese and also some local confectionary. The cider was pretty tasty. Worth stopping by !
Found some fun and exciting ciders and spicy maple syrup and hot honey. Great spot. Abracadabra cider was very neat and tasty too.
