We feel so fortunate to have discovered this wonderful place on our way to 100 Mile House. It is truly a great spot, with friendly and very polite staff, and everything was impeccably clean and beautifully maintained. We especially loved the historic charm of the ranch. There a lot of animals that kids will fall in love. Surprisingly, it seems that not many people know about this gem, but it definitely deserves to be visited. We rented a cabin for the night and enjoyed a fantastic breakfast at the restaurant the next morning. A big thank you to Annet for her warm and gracious hosting, and to the chef for preparing such generous and delicious meals. The combination of price and size is a pleasant surprise. We highly recommend this lovely place to anyone passing through!
We stopped here on our way home from a 6 day road trip through BC and some of Alberta yesterday. It was hot 40 degrees but the site is incredible. It's clean. The blacksmith was wonderful--explaining what he was working on and explaining the process. The restaurant was amazing which was an air conditioned space with a spacious patio overlooking the property. The waiter who served us was polite and attentive. I wish i had gotten his name, but i think he was fairly new--but just had a great vibe. The girl who sold us our tickets, was super polite and explained the map and where to go and what to see. The restaurant is open 7-7 and you don't need to buy tickets to the site to stop and eat. I want to highlight something i thought was important--their animals are well taken care of and their well being is put beyond all else. Normally this place offers carriage rides, and i thought i had arrived early enough i might be able to get one, but as we approached the stage coach office, the handler apologized and explained there would be no more today--it was too hot for the horses. I wasn't even disappointed but happy to see their wellbeing is put ahead of making a buck. All animals had ample water and shaded areas--just not roasting in field in the 40+ degree heat. Well done Hat Creek Ranch we will definitely stop for some eats next time we are driving through.
I absolutely loved my stay at this place. I have raved about it to my friends and family! The cabins were beautiful as well as the shacks! If you camp in a tent the miner shack should be basically the same if not a step up! I genuinely would recommend this to families, couples, even singles if you are looking for a weekend getaway! The restaurant is fair priced, and the neighbours were extremely friendly! It didn’t get loud at night time, and there was tons of wild life and live stock to see around the area! 1000/10 would recommend the miners shack if you aren’t looking for a glam get away, but just a basic camping experience with a bit of a twist this is definitely the place for you and your family! It was also EXTREMELY fair priced! There isn’t much to do around the area but the actual stay on the ranch itself was wonderful and exceeded my expectations! *we brought all the stuff you see in on the inside photos of the shack! (Battery operated lights, air mattress etc..)
A very interesting place to visit! The historic buildings with Indigenous history make it a perfect spot to learn more about Canadian heritage. The restaurant has delicious food and great service, and the whole site is well maintained. Definitely worth stop by!
We had a fabulous experience! The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The forecast turned and a rainy night was predicted. As we were tenting they offered us an upgrade to the Miners Shack. We are so very grateful, especially as we listened to the pouring rain throughout the night.
Historic Hat Creek Ranch is a quirky, worthwhile stop if you're road-tripping through the Cariboo. The site blends Indigenous history with Gold Rush-era settler stories, and the guided tours do a decent job of showing both sides. The original roadhouse is well-preserved, and the wagon rides add a fun touch for families. The Indigenous Interpretation Site is thoughtful, though it deserves more space and attention. Downsides? It can feel a bit commercial—some areas lean more toward touristy than educational. Food options are limited, and the gift shop is hit-or-miss. Still, it’s a unique place to stretch your legs, learn something, and connect with BC’s layered past.
Our group decided to stop in on our way northbound, we saw the signs and stopped for breakfast, we had a fairly large group, three families travelling together. Once we were greeted and sat our server politely notified us that due to the large group and having one server and cook on shift the wait might be an extra few minutes, which is no big deal we’re quite used to that now with our group. But I will say, the food was excellent, it didn’t take extra time at all, (so it seems) and the presentation was beautiful for every dish, even better so, it was delicious and the portion sizes were amazing for the price. We highly recommend stopping in to the restaurant to eat and experience the friendly staff, our server Anett was more than accommodating, very friendly and on the ball!! Excellent in talking and handling the childeren we had with us Good service Anett! We didn't get a chance to catch the name of the chef that cooked for us, only that he was part of the local indigenous band, and happy to cook for us. To you sir, thank you for a lovely meal! We’ll be talking about this place on the rest of our trip home, thanks to the hat creek ranch staff
We were here for a tour around the indigenous site and it was amazing! Lucile took her time showing us around and explained everything carefully! After the tour she sowed my family a game that was super fun. Thank you for the stories you shared and the great tour Lucile!

Very nice campground by the river. I didn't mind trains as some people mentioned in their reviews. Clean bathrooms, beautiful nature and we had a bonfire (probably the last one this year :D) And bonus: we saw northern lights!!!! Beautiful!
We loved it there, an Oasis in the beautiful desert. Well maintained lots, great knowledgeable staff. Would have received additional stars if it weren’t for the high pitched squelching from passing trains. River is beautiful to watch, incredibly peaceful!
We had a short 2 night stay recently at site #4 on the riverbank. Pros: -The Hosts keep the park immaculate. Even flower baskets hanging from the pit toilets! -The setting is beautiful and we enjoyed a nice breeze from the river on a +33 degree day. -Our site had power which was also much appreciated. Cons: -No wifi at the site. (I know, first world problem .... Quit whining right?) It was accessible a short walk away in the upper parking lot, so we could check in with family. -TRAINS. Ok we knew that they were going to be there prior to booking. There are trains on a regular basis both across the river AND behind us. No whistle blowing which was appreciated. After the first night we got used to them though. -Guys on the site next to us parked their trailer really weird, which kinda infringed on our 'personal space'. They also smoked weed in the evening so we couldn't sit outside as the stench was awful. That sucked. That all being said, we have booked another stay in a couple of weeks, so, really it wasn't that bad. Overall we enjoyed our stay. :)
We had a great first come first serve campsite right on the river with power and water. Fly fishermen were having great days on riverbank and we enjoyed watching. One fisherman kindly offered us a salmon. Fish were plentiful - mostly pink and sockeye salmon. Outhouse are clean. No showers. Dumping station available. As others have said the trains are frequent and noisy. I live by trains so am used to it but these are different - think screeching metal. We often covered our and our dog's ears -- and we are not babies about these things. Overall the great spot outweighed the downside of trains.
Juniper Beach is nestled between the C.P. and C.N. rail lines and beside the Thompson River. Most sites have power and water. There is also a sani dump on site. It can get hot here, but there's a nice low flow area of the river for swimming.
Beautiful spot for a day outing/picnic. The park is well maintained and the staff are friendly but if its a quiet night you're wanting you better be use to the sound of trains running past on both side of the campground all night long roughly one train every 60 minutes from 10pm until 4am the night we were there. Didn't sleep much as a result. There is no sound barrier/buffer between the tracks and the tenting area. Possibly not as bad where the RVs camp but we were told we had to camp in the tenting section since we had a tent and not an RV. Basically we paid $25 so as to not get any sleep. Will be returning for a picnic/day outing but will not be staying over night again.
Stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved it! Beautiful spot right on the river. Had a great time sitting down at the river watching all the salmon make their way up the river to spawn. The trains are frequent and loud but didn't bother us at all. There is no cell phone reception , we had to walk up to the parking lot which wasn't far and not a big deal at all. Huge shout out to Betsy the park operator! She was so kind, and very funny! We will definitely be back!
Great campsite power and water Trains night and day...but the site was good

Very happy with purchase from this wonderful shop. The jade pendants are amazing: beautiful jades and great details! I am glad to find this lovely online place to explore high quality jade jewellery, very nice place to treat yourself or find a perfect gift for family/friends. Also, the seller is super nice!
We brought our grandson "rock" shopping to the Jade & Gift shop and he loved the huge selection. The gift selections are great too. Something for every budget.
This is an amazing place. Excellent selection and prices.
Unique gift store. Visited a few years back. It was a great experience.
When we heard the doors were closing we had to go. Have been going to the store for 30 yrs and had to grab so goodies
Interesting displays, extensive selection, and very helpful service
Really love the items, unfortunately customer service is lacking. Went there twice and both times the staff were very rude or didn’t even acknowledge you. So sad to see a place that is based on attracting tourists, yet staff is atrocious. Never recommend and will never go back. Sad to see places like that fail.
We always have to stop and take a look. Very friendly and knowledgeable.

Loving the new library. If you don't see what you're looking for, order it in. It's a nice building in a good location. The staff is extra friendly and it's great to see them offering programs for families!! Let's use those programs so they will continue :) H
Nice staff , computers to use or you’re able to connect to the library wifi. Small but quiet place to check your emails and other media

Spent the past three days camping in Cache Creek before moving on down the road. Dropped into the info center on day one and met Kat. So far, the highlight of my stay in Cache Creek. She gave us lots of info, and more laughs within our short visit. Purchased a Yip( see the pic) for the trailer. It's a crochet version of a character from Sesame Street. Finally something classy in the trailer. If you're in Cache Creek stop by the info center and if Kat's there, try not to laugh. I'll bet you leave with a bigger smile than you came in with. Thanks Kat Rick and Linda
Waited for 30 minutes for it to open at the time of 10:15. Went back to check and time was now changed to 11:15. Unsure if they’ll open at all! Super unreliable and as such will not be seeing anything local in the area. This is why it’s important to have reliable visitor centre and staff.
What a cool information centre! Half of the property is racks of useful brochures about travel destinations in BC and the other half is a lovely gift shop. The establishment has a nice retro diner vibes - good for photo ops!
It was a nice place to stop and rest after a long day of driving, the grounds were very clean, the grass wonderfully green, and just a fabulous place to rest.
Kat was amazing. She helped us map a detailed guide BC.She is the best!!!
Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Used the washroom while charging and overheard her helping another customer. She gave information about fishing licensing and even checked where on his route he could get his licence. Excellent hospitality. Extremely welcoming and friendly.
What a wonderful visitors center! Marci was amazing!! She made us feel so welcome. She gave us tons of information of places to go and things to do that were specific to our interests. We left with smiles on our faces and a plan of things to see! Super clean restrooms too (if you're into that 😉)Also sweet 50s everything. We loved it!

My kids really enjoy getting to go swimming here. The staff are always very friendly and helpful.
