Real cool experience coming from Sydney on the ferry for the overnight trip. We booked a birth so we could sleep and we actually did because we took the night cruise which I believe was 6 1/2 hours and the trip back to Sydney we took the daytime trip. But there isn’t really a lot to see out in the ocean. I would recommend a night trip back therefore you can sleep and not waste a day.
I recently traveled with Marine Atlantic Ferry Service from Newfoundland to Nova Scotia, and had a mixed experience. The check-in process was efficient, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The ferry itself was clean and well-maintained, with comfortable seating areas. However, the food was a letdown. I ordered chicken wings, but they were overcooked and burnt. The menu options were limited, and the prices were a bit steep for the quality and quantity provided. The crew were professional and courteous, and the captain's updates on the journey were informative and reassuring. The scenic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding coastline were breathtaking, but the dining experience left a lot to be desired. Overall, I would recommend Marine Atlantic Ferry Service for its efficient and comfortable journey, but suggest passengers consider bringing their own food or managing their expectations regarding the onboard dining options." *Rating Breakdown:* - Cleanliness: 5/5 - Comfort: 4.5/5 - Food and Beverage: 2/5 - Staff and Service: 4.5/5 - Value for Money: 3/5 - Overall Experience: 3.5/5
So friendly! Thank you! You reclining seats need to have the plug in ports fixed. Also heated seats would be nice.
First time traveling by the ferry and it was really easy to navigate and very organized. Going over was smooth but a bit rough coming back, berths were very comfortable and accommodated 5 of us.
We took the ferry from north Sydney to here. The town itself is fairly small with a Tim Horton and couple of gas stations right after you disembark from the ferry
Very beautiful and clean friendly staff. The stewards WERE VERY helpful with my high anxiety german shepherd!!!
Always a friendly smile and comfy accent, especially when I'm leaving home to go back to NB.Ive been crossing for 36 yrs and only have 2yrs left to retire. Its always nice to get a smile when I leave ☺️
I go all the time twice a year Beautiful boat But very high prices food and drinks. So bring your own if you can Be prepared for the long ride across The night crossing would be the best As you get on the other side at night And for driving it could be dangerous

Excellent service from A to Z. We booked last minute in the catch and release season (sept. 2022) and within an hour of calling to book we were at the dwarf getting our vests ready for an amazing tour! Caught a great variety of fishes and George was extra resourceful by his decades of experience and knowledge, his excellent spots and fishing baits. We loved it and strongly recommend it!
Absolutely awesome. A trip back in time to a place that’ll soon be gone forever. You couldn’t ask for better guides than George & Andy. Safe, knowledgeable and the liveliest personalities that made the experience that much better. We can’t wait to come back and do it again
We cannot thank George and Andy enough for the wonderful fishing trip. We started off getting up close and personal with a few orcas, followed by catching a few cod and then met a very colorful lobster. They took care of us from the moment we got on the boat until we left. Nicer people you will not find. We highly recommend taking in one of their offerings. Thanks again for the amazing time!
Great experience for the whole family! We had the blast. George and David were the most helpful! My kids have a message for them: "Thank you so so much for taking us. We will never forget the trip".
Absolutely recomemnded
Excellent customer service. Staff very friendly.

A great place to stop off the ferry. The vendors have great little knickknacks and food and ice cream. Worth a stop. Sometimes live music where you get a true taste Iod authentic Newfoundland culture.
Great place to take a long walk 💗
Beautiful place to listen to music and walk the boardwalk!
Great music and social gathering happen there also many shopping huts on location 😀
If I could rate it a 10, I wouldn't. I would rate it an 11 for a fantastic time everytime I visit.
There was musical entertainment with local musicians every night. Great foot stomping diwnhone music
Nice little shops, touristy fare, good way to kill time waiting for the ferry.

If you like trains you will absolutely like to visit this little museum! 🚂
A small museum stop of rail & marine curiosities, finding something interesting to engage with is likely. Take a guided tour of the rail cars and the cabin car will take take you back to rain travel in Newfoundland in the 1930s. $5 admission and and hour for a thorough visit.
Worth a $5/head stop if you like history. 'Railway Heritage' leaves out the shipping history finds which include two Astrolabes recovered from local ship wrecks in the 1600s. Astrolobe is a nav device that predates the sextant. Quite astonishing to learn about man's early knowledge of the sun and stars and how that changes daily over 365 days. Some history on the Caribou, the Sydney Port Aux Basque passenger ferry (you likely just took), sunk by the Nazis killing hundreds of innocent civilians.
Found the place by accident, took the tour which was pretty cheap and had the option of a guided tour which was pretty good. The student was not fully aware and read from a script, but he added some insight and answered some questions. Had a scavenger hunt for the kids that they enjoyed as well.
Nice little museum, I was surprised to find a variety of pieces from the fishery, ferry, railway, and just a random assortment of every day things. Building and train could definitely use some solid maintenance.
The lady in the office : No lights in the museum Pitch dark No smiles No interest in the museum No social skills whatsoever. Looks like you are bothering her . Will not recommend this place ever
Not really worth the five bucks for admission. Just an old rusted out rust bucket of a train. Perhaps if it was restored to its original condition I wouldn't be so critical. With the museum I was able to squeeze an extra star out of it.
Excellent love it so much
