Was here yesterday and is a pretty good tourist gift shop. Pricing is reasonable and there is a good selection. People very pleasant. Peggy’s Cove is a must but get there early if you want a place to park. I would say any time after 9:30 and you will likely be parking far away.
It was a very beautiful place and the rocks were stunning but the business really takes away a bit from the experience. We went in mid-September (not even the peak of the tourist season) and on a Monday and it was still quite crowded. It was still overall a pleasant experience but I'm sure there are other areas you can find with a similar landscape that aren't quite as crowded. The village was nice to walk through too and there's some nice shopping. When you go be sure to take the road all the way to it's end where there's a larger parking area than what's at the visitor centre.
Amazing place to visit. The view is breathtaking. The lighthouse is beautiful. The environment in unique. The restaurant, gift shop is nice. I will definitely go back if I have the occasion.
Came here twice within two weeks to buy a specific gift. Both times, the shop was closed despite being declared as open in google maps. Wasted two hours of driving on the second try.
Peggy's Cove offers breathtaking views and picturesque villas -- this is the epitome of a seaside town. An early morning sojourn is recommended as it can get busy and free parking is limited. Quaint gift shops and restaurants pepper the roads leading to the lighthouse. Comfortable shoes recommended as the terrain is uneven and rough, especially by the lighthouse. The town has a very communal vibe.
Always an awesome experience to go there. It's best to go on a weekday during summer as the weekends are naturally busy and early September brings in a lot of university orientation tours. A very scenic place so make sure you charge up your camera. Also if you're someone who wants go from rock to rock around the lighthouse then it will be a great experience...just make sure you have comfortable footwear. There is parking right next to the lighthouse but it's mostly full so just check out the overflow parking in front of the visitor centre which is hardly 500m from lighthouse. Will def go again when I visit Hfx.
I still love this place even after all these years.. I've been going here since I was 4 years old. I do find it very busy now and is one of the top tourist attractions in Nova Scotia so be prepared if you are taking your own vehicle that parking may be difficult. They have a lot of cute little shops with Trinkets and gifts one of my favorite is a gentleman who sells authentic buoys and books. You can buy Lobster here. They also have a restaurant close to where the lighthouse is
It's lovely but with the tour buses there's usually an obscene amount of people there, so it's hard to get any decent photographs unless you have a lot of time to kill. It had to pour down rain before I was able to get some photos with hardly any people in them.

Artist, painter, sculptor creator of many beautiful paintings. His crowning glory was the Fisherman's memorial depicting Peggy of the Cove and 32 local fishermen carved from a granite outcrop behind his house. Today time was short so i photographed the painting which appealed to me most. One in particular which was surely inspired by the great Salvador Dali. Decide for yourselves.
An amazing hidden spot in Peggy's Cove. It was a wonderful experience for me to view the sunset. Highly recommended for people who are visiting Peggy's cove light house, walkable distance. I recommed the best time for visiting is Sunny day evening time.
Beautiful landscape and water view in all directions along with the Lighthouse
A hidden gem at Peggy’s Cove, easy to miss when your eyes are glued to the panorama of colourful houses against the blue sky. I noticed it as I strolled every street of the cove. I’m assuming that many miss it if they stick to the (quite spectacular) lighthouse area.
If you go to the lighthouse - it is a five minute walk from the parking lot. There is limited parking and in the summer it is probably full. However, it is a life long tribute by an artist who completed it over the last years of his life. In his vision - he was was going to polish it - but it is nice in the rustic state.
The gallery was closed. Not 'the season' for opening. I would have liked to learn more while there. An information display and the publicly viewable rock carvings were great! Thankyou!!!
Had a great afternoon walking the granite rocks at Peggy's Cove. Amazing what nature creates due to the weather. Quaint area near the lighthouse showing the raw nature of the Atlantic Ocean and what the East Coast is all about. Parking at the tourist information area with a short walk to the Lighthouse or parking by the restaurant near the Lighthouse. It is a must do when in Nova Scotia.
Rugged picturesque scenery, so unique. Kids explored for hours, didn't want to leave. Will be coming back, long drive from Niagara!

My son and I went on the 20 minute boat tour. Some other passengers asked about fishing and a fishing trip was arranged. My son had a blast and caught 7 fish. The fish were mackerel and pollock. The staff helped manage the fishing and taking them off the hooks. Overall great time. Thank you!
We had a wonderful time on the sightseeing tour with Peggy's Cove Boat Tours! It was a great experience from the moment we arrived at check in with a super friendly, very knowledgable lady working the desk. The First Mate gave loads of interesting history while keeping it fun, and the captain was lovely! He even let our little guy try steering the boat in the captain's seat which is for sure going to be a life long memory. Comfortable seating and not over crowded. 10/10 recommend!
We had a great first time experience with Garry and Diane in our deep sea fishing tour. They were really helpful and highly recommend the Peggy’s Cove Boat Tours for anyone looking for a amazing experience.
We did the deep sea fishing tour and it was amazing. We caught fish non-stop and the crew was very helpful. They helped us take the fishes off the hooks and cleaned them after the tour. The tour started and ended right on time. Make sure to dress warmly, as it'll be cold and windy in the morning. Depending on the weather it'll also be very rocky, so be prepared. Otherwise, this was an amazing tour and definitely the highlight of our trip. Thank you, Gary, Cody, Diane and the guy that cleaned our fish!
Did the deep sea fishing tour. It was spectacular. Exactly what I expected. We caught lots of mackerel and used them for bait to catch some nice cod fish. We left with a few pounds of fish. Cody is the deckhand and is very knowledgeable and skilled at what he does. He's also very funny. It was a great time.
The crew were lovely. We charted the boat for a small private family event as part of a celebration of life. The crew were friendly, while at the same time completely respectful and gave us the space we needed. Would highly recommend for tours or private events!
If you have the chance, DEFINITELY TAKE A DEEP SEA FISHING TOUR with Peggy's Cove Boat Tours. Our captain Gary and First Mate Abby were exceptional. The first line in the water had 3 mackeral on within seconds and we kept reeling them in. Cod and Haddock too. Abby was amazing with our youngest son. ❤️. The kids are still talking about this adventure. The boat was clean, well maintained. The fishing gear was also well maintained and rigged perfectly. They even cleaned and bagged out fish and we enjoyed 2 lovely dinners of cod. Thank you so much for an awesome time.
Honestly not impressed at all. Our tickets said to arrive at 9:30, online says 10am. We arrive early and NO one is around. The kiosk had an old looking sign saying "cancled due to weather" but it was beautiful and sunny. We waited and waited till 10am and the boat still wasn't at the dock. Finally the boat shows up at 5after and the apologize. We get on and its cramped. They say the boat is rated for 20 passengers but with a full 20 (a few children on our tour) it was insaley uncomfortable and when we finally did arrive to the island to see the puffins. You couldn't move around to see them! I was constantly bumping people to try and get my camera out for photos. The next disappointment was there was nothing said. You expect a tour to have a tour guide (thankfully I know a lot about sea birds etc and shared some fun facts with other families on board) but the last puffin tour we did in capebreton had someone actually telling you about the wildlife and birds you where seeing. Had a binder with photos to help you figure out what was what. This "TOUR" had absolutely 0 guidedance. While the captain was friendly with me. He was incredibly rude to others at times. Even getting mad at a child for needing to use the bathroom on board. (We its a small boat. We as adults can hold it and know to go before! But its a child. Thier tiny bladder isn't worth making that child cry because they needed to pee before we even left the dock) the way you handled that probably made every other family with kids feel like they couldn't or shouldn't use it even if they needed to. Overall yes we did see puffins. But id rather have driven all the way to capebreton again than ever recomend this tour to any of our friends.

I would like people to be aware that if you purchase a beautiful pate knife, like I did, it may not make it through security at the airport. The "knife" measured about a quarter of inch longer than security allows. The knife was taken from me. If I had known that, I would have mailed to myself or put it into a checked luggage.
Very nice shop making the pewter jewelry and items, we were instructed and shown how objects are made, very nice staff
Got a couple cool keepsakes. Clean. Super nice staff! My sons paper bag was soaking wet and fell apart, the lady made sure his stuff was safe and gave him the only bag in the store that was plastic. Awesome human! Thank you!
We had a lovely time visiting Amos Pewter, and Lisa was incredibly helpful with sharing information about Peggy Cove and the surrounding area. We look forward to returning in the future.
Lovely shop in Peggys Cove with featuring beautiful Nova Scotia jewelry, frames, and keychains. My wife bought a necklace and earrings that I know she'll treasure for many years to come as a lovely reminder of our time in Nova Scotia. The staff here are so nice and friendly. He even offers some great suggestions of things to do in the area. While some items can seem pricey, what makes it worthwhile is knowing you're buying pewter works made locally - in fact you can visit their workshop in nearby Malone Bay.
A little pricey, but the cashier engraved a keychain for no extra cost. Note that this brand can be found throughout the maritimes, it isn't unique to this location.
Great selection of pewter jewellery that is a bit different to normal selection
Beautifully crafted pewter items at good prices. Do pay a visit when at Peggy's Cove.

I always love supporting local artists – and Hags on the Hill makes it very convenient to do so! Lovely diversity of crafts, all fairly priced. I bought some earrings and a necklace, but wished I could have bought much more!
A small interesting souvenir shop. It seems that the choice is not very big, but in general there are some interesting things. Since you came to visit this lighthouse, you definitely can come to look on their goods and it may be interesting to you to buy some local trinket.
This shop is collectively run by 16 wonderful artists, each presenting their products in this beautiful shop. Everything from glass art to paintings to metal works, you'll find it there. Their inventory is quite interesting and a welcome change from the classic souvenir shop. Some of their pieces are astounding! Out of respect for the originality of the artists' work, I'm not posting photos of said art. But you'll see how much talent and skill went into their work the second you see it. If you're visiting Peggy's Cove, this shop is an absolute must! PS: the "hags" running the shop are the most courteous, lovely, and funny ladies you'll meet in the region, so come in and say hi.
In my opinion, it's the best shop at Peggy's Cove. The local artists create all the goods for sale and manage the shop as well. A variety of leather goods, jewelry, glass, and other art. It's worth a visit while at Peggy's Cove.
What a lovely surprise! The shop is run by 16 different artisans and displayed in such an artful and beautiful way. Nothing is imported, and all handmade. Stunningly, beautiful quality. When I return, I will be sure to leave room in my luggage to bring some larger items home. Cute name!!!
Lovely shop run by locals featuring a variety of gifts made by local artisans. A nice store to browse and see what inventive artwork local artists have made. They carry a variety of items and you do need to pay a bit of close attention as you just may find a nice little handmade souvenir or gift to bring back home.
This is a great shop to see local artisans work. I was very impressed with the quality of the pieces and the variety of types of work that were available. I started up a conversation with one of the people staffing the store that morning and it was one of the artist who had pieces for sale. It was great to get to meet the artist and hear how they got started making their artwork. This old house is also a great place to look at the lighthouse from. The glass in the windows is the original glass from the house and makes a unique lens to look at the lighthouse through.
Hags on the Hill is supposedly the oldest house standing in St Margaret’s Bay (built in 1812). This gift show is steps from the Peggy’s Point Lighthouse and has tons of different items such as art work, soap and aromatherapy products, postcards, hand made mugs, and etc. Be sure to visit this little shop and you will find a lot of interesting items made locally.

Love this little cafe! The coffee and lattes are delicious, the staff are very friendly, and they carry all sorts of neat gifts (art, jewelery, clothing, and many other items).
Cute little shop with really good coffee. Friendly staff. 4/5 because of the wait time.
Next door is awesome, just get some ice cream at deedee's and get a waffle cone☺.
High quality gifts, artwork, clothing, jewelry and more. Great coffee!
Good coffee and nice view.
Little bit of everything. Lots of gorgeous things.
Great ice cream from a local shop!

Located on Peggy's Point Road across from the Visitor Information Centre, this was originally the homestead of the artist and sculptor William E. deGarthe (1907-1983) who was born in Finland but immigrated to Canada in 1926. For many years, deGarthe spent each spring and summer at Peggy's Cove, where he painted marine scenes depicting life on and around the rugged Nova Scotia coast. It's now a gallery and permanent exhibition showcasing a representation of deGarthe's works including perhaps his finest painting, Out of the Mist, depicting a schooner in full sail emerging from the fog. The gallery is open from mid-May until mid October each year and is part of the Nova Scotia Museum network. It's Wheelchair accessible and admission is CAD1.00; Children under 16 free.
The stone carving is magnificent. It's just a short walk from the light house and definitely worth seeing 🙂
Very lovely surprise. Go to the visitors center across the street to gain access. Great history, some moving works and interesting stories of Legendary Peggy. Don’t miss it.
I went there in the early 2000s there was a painting called lady in the water? anyone know where I can find a print. lady was laying in dark water.
Shame it’s closed. However, outside the frieze and memorial.
I love the pairings and sculptures by William DegGarthe. The gallery is free.
You see this right before going down to see Peggy's cove
Nice collection of deGarthe painting and sculptures.
