My wife and I just spent 4 days here and we loved every minute of it! Hotel staff was outstanding and did everything to make sure our stay was comfortable. Beautiful view of the lake from across the street, a beach and a golf course! The restaurant staff was exceptional and chef Marco was outstanding! We will be staying here again in the future. Thanks to all who made this a memorable little getaway!
Our daughter and now son-in-law had a weekend wedding at the resort this past weekend. We were completely impressed by everything. The resort and facilities were perfect. Rooms were modern and well equipped, the beach was beautiful and had lots of activities to do, the island ceremony spot was lovely and the golf course was an added bonus. All guests very much enjoyed the wedding reception venue and the meal was delicious. We really thought the staff outdid themselves all weekend. They were very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend using this resort as a place for a wedding. I plan to be back to stay there to enjoy hiking and skiing at a future date.
Had a great time at the resort last night! Hotel room was really nice and looked like it may have been upgraded recently. We were lucky to get a room with a balcony to enjoy the view of the mountain. Had dinner at the hotel restaurant, Canthooks, which I think needs some TLC to match the beautiful rooms. Food was delicious and as someone with a lot of allergies, the staff and cooks were super attentive and offered to adjust food to accommodate. I had the pan seared chicken with a leek miso sauce and my mom had the special which was a prime roast with a peppercorn sauce. We would highly recommend both dishes!
I am giving an overall rating of one star even though the room I stayed in was quite nice. My experience at this resort was terrible. I don't know if they look down on motorcyclists, or if it was something else but I can't think of a time in which I've been treated with such indifference. I was was on a four day solo motorcycle tour so I walked in the front door with leather jacket, boots and a baseball cap. When I checked in they just handed me my cards and said the elevator was to the left. They didn't tell me about any amenities like a beach you can walk to, a pool, etc. Nothing. When I made my reservation by phone I stressed that I needed dinner and breakfast because it's a somewhat remote spot where you cannot walk to a cafe or get food delivered. I can't ride my bike after dark either because I have a dark helmet shield and gave up night riding about 20 years ago. Anyway, at about 7:00 I went down to the restaurant to see if I could get a table and eat. I turns out that the local School Board was having a dinner and the place was full. This was a Thursday night and no one warned me that the restaurant would or could be closed for a private event. I stepped up to the bar and waited around. Lots of noisy drunk customers and a few busy staff dressed in black. The staff would not make eye contact or acknowledge that I was even there. I decided to leave and come back in half an hour. The exact same thing happened except that I sat at a bar stool this time. The staff would not address me because they had their hands full cashing out drunk teachers. These people were not even staying at the hotel. I went to the front desk and asked for a bottle of water and told the young woman how I keep getting brushed off by the bar staff. She went and spoke to them on my behalf, and when she came back she said 'there was no food left'. They could possibly get some pasta going for me but I was done begging. I had to ask for water even though there were signs posted everywhere that the water was unsafe to drink. Well, the bottle of water was my dinner. There was no attempt to offer me a free breakfast in the morning or anything like that. I'm sure the manager doesn't even know or care about this since he had a full house on a week day for dinner. I left as soon as I could the next morning. Stay here if you want but I don't like being treated like garbage.
We were there at a very quiet time of year so it was very peaceful and relaxing with the beautiful setting of the lake and ski hills. Jagjeet went above and beyond to make sure our stay was exceptional. Would love to go back for some skiing in the winter.
I absolutely loved my time at Calabogie Peaks Resort — it was exactly the magical time off I needed to rest and heal. I visited during a difficult period, around the anniversary of my mom’s passing, while also freshly grieving my dad and feeling deeply stressed from work. My stay here truly helped me find calm and grounding again. There’s something incredibly special about this place — not just the natural beauty, but the spirit it carries. Sitting by the fire under a sky full of stars, waking up to the sound of water and nature, and even sharing kind moments with other guests all made the experience feel peaceful and connected. The beach area right across was also a pleasant surprise. A heartfelt thank-you to Jagjeet at the reception, who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable — fixing issues in my room and arranging a room change with genuine care and professionalism. At the restaurant, I was equally touched by the kindness and attentiveness of the team. Ash stood out for her warmth, patience, and genuine care — she made every interaction feel personal and comforting, and I was grateful to have someone so kind to talk to during my stay. Khole, the chef, was exceptional — he took the time to explain meals, made thoughtful adjustments to suit my needs, and even brought the dishes out himself, turning every meal into a gesture of care. And Nimah (Neev) brought a gentle, radiant touch to the dining experience with her cheerful smile. This resort truly has a heart — because of people like them. I left feeling peaceful, grateful, and renewed, already looking forward to returning someday.
This charming resort left a lasting impression on us during our brief one-night stay. We were particularly struck by the cleanliness of our room, the delicious dinner served at the restaurant, and, most notably, the professionalism displayed by Marek at the front desk. His courteous demeanor and genuine effort to ensure our comfort made us feel truly valued. In an era where exceptional service in hospitality can be hard to find, Marek's heartfelt invitation to return was a refreshing experience. We are grateful to have encountered such warmth and hospitality, and we extend our thanks to Marek for making our visit memorable.
Had my wedding here last weekend. My expectations were absolutely blown out of the water. The hotels, venue and beachfront were so clean, the golf course was maintained with pride, and that staff were legitimately fun people. I feel as though we got so much value out of having our weekend wedding here. It's important to also mention that calabogie was extremely honest and honoured the rates and terms from when we originally signed on even though it was not included in their new terms. This was extremely honest of them. Have to also shout out Natalie who was an absolute pleasure to work with and would respond to emails within minutes at times. 10/10 experience highly recommended

You can enjoy beautiful scenery after a 20-minute walk from the parking lot. A cool breeze blows, and the view stretches impressively far into the distance. It would be more relaxing if there were fewer people taking reckless poses on the cliffside rocks for photos.
Nice short trail. It’s moderate difficulty and suitable for kids or casual hikers. The path isn’t well maintained, and the signs are poor. The lookout is beautiful and worth the quick climb!
We recently visited this spot during autumn, and the scenic views were truly splendid! The trek is short and suitable for families. However, it's not accessible for wheelchairs or strollers. The perfect weather added to the experience. As it's gaining popularity, we found the parking lot full. One thing to note is that there's only one washroom in the parking area, and unfortunately, it wasn't well-maintained. Additionally, maps are only available at the parking lot or the trek's starting point, and there are no signs or directions along the way. Most people seem to stick to the main path and take a stroll to the viewpoint before returning. Despite these limitations, the views are definitely worth the visit.
This was an excellent hike. I would do it again. So peaceful and serene. I went late in the evening. Medium easy walk. It was so much fun.
Beautiful views. But make sure you have hiking shoes on. Or running shoes. Go up quite a steep hill to get to the veiws. Watch for small white sign on right that says wedding and eagles nest. Over half hr walk in.
Beautiful place if you live a short trekking and camping. Place is very clean and perfect for a day trip. This place is one of the few peaks. Grab drinks and food if you love to spend few hours at this spot. (Do not litter as the place is litter free)
Eagle’s Nest Lookout is absolutely stunning! The view from the top is breathtaking — you can see miles of forest, cliffs, and lakes all around. It’s one of the best scenic spots in Ontario for sure. The trail is well-marked and not too difficult, making it perfect for beginners and casual hikers. The short hike up is totally worth it once you reach the lookout — especially at sunrise or sunset when the colors are amazing. There are benches at the top where you can sit, relax, and take in the peaceful surroundings. If you’re visiting Calabogie, this is a must-see destination. Beautiful views, fresh air, and a great spot to connect with nature. Highly recommend!
Easy 1-2 hour hike including return time. Best place the fall season, near to the Calabougie resort. Lots of family with the kids and their dogs are experiencing this trail. Though parking is bit difficult and paid for this trail. Though it is totally worth it, for the view and taking pictures with your loved ones and spending time with nature.

My husband and I did the stay and play package. We had so much fun. Shawn in the pro shop was so accommodating and really made our experience the best. Victoria day long weekend the course was packed but everyone was so nice and we tee'd off perfectly so that it was backed up. We will definitely be back. Course was beautiful. Greens are fast.
The resort is in a remote location, making it a quiet getaway. The golf course is picturesque and well maintained, a definite highlight of the property. The rooms are satisfactory—some upgrades have been made, though a few areas could still use finishing touches. Beyond golf, a bike and walking path are available, and there’s a fire pit for relaxing in the evenings, but there isn’t much else to do in the immediate area. If you’re looking for a peaceful spot to golf and unwind, this is a good choice. A short drive away you can rent paddle boards and kayak. There’s also a local brewery and pub to enjoy!
This is an older timeshare resort that didn’t sell their inventory. They have simple made vacant units available to the public. Other than the remoteness and golf it offers very little. There is no beach, pool, or playground. Even amenities such as laundry in-suite or even on site is not available. You will need a vehicle so so anything, as even the town of Calabogie is a 10 minute drive. Or 2 hour walk around the lake. Unfortunately based on my experience we cannot recommend.
I have used Calabogie Highland golf resort several times over the years for my annual Swine Cup golf tournament. The staff are amazing, the course is challenging and the villas for a stayover are perfect. The units are showing some wear and tear over the years and could use some TLC, but are clean and perfect for a boys weekend away. The price is competitive too.
This review is only about the golf course as we did not stay over. It’s only about a 50-minute drive from Kanata. The layout is interesting, with a few elevated tee boxes that offer great views and some fun shot making opportunities. It’s on the tougher side to walk, with some longer gaps between holes and elevation changes, but still very doable if you're up for a it. It was about $100 for two at weekend prime time, solid value compared to other courses closer to home, definitely worth the trip.
The golf course has a nice layout, with some very picturesque holes and is a decent challenge . As of mid June (2025), course was still on a little rough condition from winter, however, you could see repair work in progress and the green fees were affordable enough to compensate for the condition. (use a cart as there are plenty of hills). Friendly staff, I will be back.
Just spend 2 days at Calabogie Highland Golf Course, staff was friendly, the unit was very spacious unfortunately it was not the cleanest.I did mention this to the receptionist but no one seemed to care. No one came to see or offered to clean it. We took some time to clean the space ourselves.
Our group of 14 couples spent a weekend at Calabogie Highlands Resort and Golf Course. The 2-bedroom condos were ideal and the fact that we could literally fall out of bed, have breakfast in our units, walk over to the golf course to get set up for a day of golf and then have drinks and dinner at the adjacent restaurant worked wonderfully.

Best track in Canada for racing, hands down. Motorcycle racing in this track is the closest to motoGP. Absolutely falled in love first time I visited.
It had been a long time since I was last at Calabogie Motosport. What a beautiful place. We attended for Guitars & Gasoline. We were warmly greeted by no one less than the owner at the front gate. He said he would escort us to our camping spot. Unfortunately, with many trailers ahead, we found our own way. On the racetrack! That was cool. Please not no glass bottles are allowed and they lookin your trailers and vehicle. Friends in front lost wine but washable to give up the glass bottles and pour into containers. That would have been good to know. The venue, WOW! The stage was set up in a natural amphitheater, so sound was amazing. The bands were phenomenal. My personal favorites of course Blue Rodeo, Theory of a Deadman, The Trews, Josh Ross, Owen Riegling and the up and coming Alexa Goldie. We had paid for Premium RV camping. We bought general admission. So for that type of camping and larger price, you get access to a comfort station, (toilet only) and closer to the general admission gate. We were in Zone 8. Zone 9...again premium camping mostly had a lot of stage view...we did not realize that so missed out. The maps provided are not useful in assisting in picking a camping spot. We were doubled up ( one in front of the other), luckily with friends...2 to a lot, so know this if you have an early check- out need. We were also behind an elevation. We would go general admission camping. The idea of going cashless did not work out well. Many bracelets did not work. The staff were all very helpful and honest in their responses to our issues and concerns. The "friendly" owner after speaking to him twice to ask why we didnt have easier access to the general admission gate advised us " well leave, I'll give you your money back." That did not leave us with a great feeling. All in all, realizing this was the first year, Congratulations! Job well done. It also will cost us more money, the boys are going back to check out races and the racetrack. Thank you,
I rented a GR86 for a hpde day and it was a life changing experience. It was my first time on a racetrack and I got to learn in a controlled environment. Myself and two others followed a coach in a lead car, and the coach let us know when we could overtake. Even when I made mistakes the coaches were very patient and helpful. Next time I go to Calabogie I will request a coach to sit in the car with me with the goal of greatly improving my racing.
First time at the track, did the HP intro night. Had a very good coach teaching us.. was incredibly fun and a family atmosphere. Loved it! Highly recommend. Pro driver or first time, they really accommodate.
Went with my family to a lucky dog race. Free to come and specte. The amazing atmosphere and the food truck were delicious. Deep fried Mars bar!!
Went to guitars and gasoline for the weekend,It was their 1st year, and lots of things need to be done so things go smoothly. We had tons of hiccups, and the staff needed to do their jobs and have better information. They need better markers for where your camp ground is and have shuttle working all day and expectilly at night and after shows are done. Give out better marked maps. Otherwise it was great.
Went for the Guitars and Gas concert - epic! It is a great venue, worth the drive from Ottawa. Have not personally driven the track, but buddies who have, give it top marks.
Went for the Adrenaline Rush experience with the Ford Mustang. Great overall, very impressive cornering speed and handling. Track has 20 corners, including slow and mid speed, allowing the driver to showcase his skills. Would have given 5 stars, only if the 4 laps experience lasted 4 full laps as advertised, and not 3.

We were in the neighborhood hiking at eagles nest, when we decided to stop here for a few beers and some lunch. I'm so glad we did. The location was beautiful, right beside a creek with some rapids. The building it's self was gorgeous, a rustic looking barn. They have a fantastic selection of beer, each on better than the next. We had the 6 meat pizza, by far the best pizza I've ever had. But the best part of the whole experience was the staff. Made us feel right at home, the lady working the bar was an absolutely delight. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful lunch:)
Rueben sandwich with the chips and salsa side tasted great. They also have a great selection of beer. The price is unbelievably fair. Customer service is great. The outside seating area is phenomenal! You get a really nice view towards the river! They also had live music which we all enjoyed!
Great food, and great service. No complaints. Loved the salsa; the server hooked me up with a full container to go. That was a nice surprise. Tried one of their seasonal brews (something tangerine), and it was pretty good. Give this place a try if you're in the area. Won't be disappointed.
Such a great spot! The view of the river is beautiful, and it’s the perfect place to just relax and enjoy the scenery. The beer is super good, fresh, and definitely worth coming back for. The vibe is really chill, and it’s one of those places where you can easily spend a couple of hours without noticing the time. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!
Beautiful atmosphere. Beer is excellent. Food is good. Server made it an exceptional experience.
We went with our dog and sat outside in -6 C weather, and it was an amazing night. The staff helped us get a fire going, we had blankets to keep warm, we could hear the river rushing next to the patio, and the flights were very reasonably priced. We very much enjoyed their beer - the chocolate milk porter was my favorite! I'm only giving the food 4 stars because by the time we had the fire going and I was OK to sit and eat the food had sat there for a couple of minutes and was getting cold - I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more if we were warm inside, but it was part of the adventure! Looking for a low-key place to have good beer, some pub fare, and stay cozy? This is the place in Calabogie.
Gorgeous location. Beautiful casual patio alongside trickling river with fireplaces, stage, and lawn games. Best garlic bread I have ever had and the house made salsa was incredible too. Reasonably priced beer and flight and good brews!
I was really excited to visit Calabogie Brewing — I was actually the one who suggested to my husband that we go there for drinks and lunch after our hike. I even called ahead around 3 p.m. to check if we needed a reservation, and the person I spoke with said either way was fine but still took our details for a reservation. We arrived at about 3:15 p.m. (a little late), but the place wasn’t busy — several tables were still open. We were seated right away, but no one brought us menus for quite a while. Our waiter mentioned he was helping a large table and would be back, so we waited. In the meantime, another couple who came in after us were served promptly by what looked like a manager — they got menus, water, and ordered their drinks and food before us. When our waiter returned about 10 minutes later, he apologized for the delay and took our order. I had really wanted to try the beer sampler, but he said they weren’t offering it that day. I ordered another beer instead, along with pretzels, pizza, a salad, and a juice for my daughter. However, I later overheard another couple order the sampler — and saw two tables being served samplers! The manager even told the other table that it “shouldn’t be offered today,” but still let them have it. When I asked our waiter again, he said the manager confirmed we still couldn’t order it. That felt very unfair and inconsistent. I ended up canceling the salad because I was already disappointed. The food (pretzels and pizza) came eventually and tasted okay, but the whole experience left a bad impression — especially since we were there first but served last, and weren’t treated with the same consideration as others. It’s a shame because the place itself is lovely, but the service and management decisions made our visit frustrating instead of enjoyable. Hopefully, they can work on consistency and fairness in customer service.
