Went looking for a tipi. I found a 17 footer for $2200, nice looking.
A good place to stop - not that much variety however with the types of handcrafted products they sell. A bit misleading as well - they had wool-blend blankets for instance but those were made in Ecuador (I feel like it was a bit like exploiting vulnerable communities if the global south as I’m sure they sold those blankets 5x what they paid for them … not super equitable). They had a few good pieces (perhaps vintage clothing) of leather and suede / skin jackets which was nice. Of course it’s also a bit cliché w the slot machines and other online video games (there’s a “Indian Casino” sign …) and of course they sell cigarettes and vape products . Overall a bit disappointed as other First Nations / indigenous stores or artisan shops / ateliers I visited in the past (Mani Utenam, Village Huron, 6Nations of GR, Kamloops, Mashteuiatsh, Manawan, Chisasibi or Kahnawake , Havre St-Pierre, Mingan etc.) had more artcraft or original pieces that were locally made by local entrepreneurs and small businesses. They had a few Xmas ornaments I thought were original and cute, a lot of pelts and mocassins. No wood carvings unfortunately (only like 4 pieces and idk if they were locally made except one that was very well done and unique - an owl carved w a chainsaw). A few taxidermy pieces which I didn’t care for. There was a sort of art studio as well in the back but sadly no paintings for sale. Lastly , I thought it was also not so good of them to give out plastic bags sadly…
Very good experience to this shop, I bought a very nice pair of boots made by native people and with real leather, so happy..
Great artworks and clothing, definitely worth a look. They have a nice restaurant in there too.
Visited in summer 2021 to purchase 'Every Child Matters' orange t-shirts. Owner went to the trouble to explain very hard to keep that item in stock. The shirts eventually arrived, excellent quality, reasonable price. Very happy to do business here. Great store.
Exactly it !!!! LOVED IT !!! Once you go in you never want to leave, so many beautiful hand made items and other Awsome things to look at . They sell as well as buy hand made cloths jewelry etc.... Have a great day.. A.S
We had a great afternoon, my daughter had fun for her 1st time fishing. Owner is supper friendly and good price for the fish. Bought back childhood memories when i went to with my grandfather.
If you want to see native lifestyle this is the place to go, native arts and crafts plus traditional items everything is available, friendly staff will assist with any question you have, a place to feel like home, I bring all my guest's here to appreciate traditional living and to learn about history. Finally this is the place where real native food is available on regular base with weekly changing menu items from moosburger to banok , you have to try the filled banok best one I ever had. Love this place....
