Our kids had such a great time. All the animals were out and we were super close to the lions.
It was a cool experience. The road here can be tough towards the end but it’s doable. We had a Kia Picanto and were fine. They have so many animals here which was cool to see. We saw a raccoon and bear that seemed stressed out walking back and forth in their cages as to find a way to get out. The animals seemed skinny and their water ponds were dirty or almost dry. I think they can do better with the animals with the high entrance fees. $10 for locals and $15 for foreigners plus $3 per person to get a ride through the park. The area is super green and lush . It also provides a lot of shade for animals but a lot of them seemed skinny sad/miserable. Please take better care of them. The reason for my low review is because I felt bad for some of the animals. The place itself is cool. They have a waterfall they promote but it is dry right now.
Beautiful natural surroundings with mostly inclined walking paths. The area includes swings, playgrounds, and picnic spots. I saw peacocks, tortoises, a variety of birds, a jaguar, a bear, hippos, and crocodiles. Butterflies were everywhere, along with a wide range of unique plants. If you enjoy botanical gardens and relaxed hikes, this is a great place to explore. There’s a concession stand with drinks, clean restrooms, and affordable pricing. Almost no one around when we went on a Wednesday. Quiet and peaceful.
My personal opinion of the place: They have a few animal species, though I wish they had more, but they all look healthy and well-fed, which is a good thing. I think if it cost $5 per person instead of $10 and they fixed the access road, there would be more people. And if the place is big enough, they could have other animals. But at the end of all, it's a good place to spend time with the family.
Do not participate! The park is surrounded by beautiful land, so the ziplines were great! The animals made me VERY sad. This is more of a zoo than a refuge and the whole 6hrs I was there I did not see one animal fed or cage cleaned. They are kept in small cages and the animals look so sad. The bear looks skinny and depressed! Just alone and away from the other animals. It made me so sad to see and I’ll never go to a refuge again!!! Worse than a zoo!! The animals are so beautiful but they are not taken care of and they all want to be free.
It was a great zoo with many animals you have never seen like taparies, White tigers more! The thing is it's why toooooooo hot and the animals don't get that much space! Besides that it is a long great zoo.
Nice place to visit hard place to get to
Costumer service is the worse, the lady at the font window was on her phone I stood in front of her for 5 minutes she didn’t even acknowledge me until I said hola like 5 times. Wouldn’t go back. Didn’t explain any of the extra activities that the park offered very rude save your money for somewhere else.

Cheap parking. 62+ free entrance, $5 per person. Great place is a most go. Wave pool slides 🛝 food all types ice-cream. Rent out a spot like for the tables with light fan, etc for a good price.
Termos del Río is an affordable and family-friendly water park featuring fun attractions like water slides, a wave pool, canopy and a relaxing thermal water pool. It’s a great option for a day trip with friends or family. Parking is very cheap at just $1.00. We purchased a combo package at the entrance for $27.00, which included entry and lunch for five people; a great deal! Note that staff check bags at the entrance to make sure you’re not bringing in alcoholic beverages, hammocks, tables, or chairs. However, all of those items are available for rent once you’re inside. You can buy different packages through the Termos del Río website, which makes it easy to plan ahead based on your group size and budget. There are combos that include entrance, food, and other extras. Inside the park, you can rent hammocks, tables, and chairs. There are small stores and restaurants that sell just about anything you might need during your visit. Some offer traditional Salvadoran food, which was okay not amazing, but decent for the price. The combo meal we received was reasonable for the price, but the portions were small if you’re really hungry, it won’t be enough. We also bought a Papa John’s pizza and were disappointed. It was cold, flavorless, and seemed like the ovens weren’t working. I highly recommend not buying pizza there. The staff were kind and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. That said, the food service definitely needs improvement in terms of quality and temperature. Termos del Río is a great, budget-friendly place to enjoy water attractions and relax in thermal pools. It’s clean, fun, and offers good value just don’t go with high expectations for the food. If you plan ahead, especially through their website, it can be a smooth and enjoyable day.
Best Waterpark in El Salvador! Great Food Options just always a reminder to have change and leave tips! I love this place
This place was so much fun!!!! For $5 you have rides and slides there are lots of different pools. There is plenty of areas in the shade to sit and relax, plenty of different places to eat! But the best part I felt were the attractions, they a few rides like bumper cars, and the pirate ship, they also have zip lining, horse back riding, family bike rentals, and the best part is there are all only $1 an attraction. They also had a field so people can play soccer. Definitely had a blast, staff were all friendly, and very helpful.
I visited from the U.S. and this place was absolutely incredible—so much fun! I loved every moment. That said, it can be a little intimidating because the slides drop you into very deep water, which is different from what you typically find in the U.S. Be sure to stay cautious so you don’t drown.
Bathrooms need to be clean often, bad coordination with glorientas(little gazebos) not enough changing rooms.
Wonderful staff, really nice. Great place for the kids! Definitely recommend going to this place.
I really enjoyed this place. My family and I enjoyed the lazy river, pools, wave pool, scenery and gastronomy. Extremely affordable! I highly recommend.

This is a beautiful and amazing nature site to visit. They have a walk path tour and sports activity. These activities all have designated start times, so it's advise to plan ahead. They have a variety of purchase options, 1. being entry ticket, $5 for locals and $10 for foreigners, and a small parking fee. If you would like to just walk around there was not a charge however the sports activities do depending which one you want to do solo or as a bundle. The walk tour has 4 different trails and my group did easy (Pacific Ocean View) and intermediate (Butterfly Trail). This concluded the walk tour to be 45-60 mins. Once you're done with your tour/activity they have a large and spacious renovated park area in the nature park perserve. They have picnic tables, bathrooms, food station and kid's area. Absolutely worth adding on to your itinerary!
Entry fee is $10/person for non-Salvadorans including children ages 6+. The family trail takes about an hour and is included with entry. It entails a small cave and viewpoint of the pacific. The other activities (biking, zip lining, climbing, etc) are not included with entry and have a minimum age of 12 which is not clear or noted at the entrance. Overall it is a nice outdoor space perfect for adults and older kids. We enjoyed the playground and picnic area, but felt the price was steep considering there is not much to do for kids under 12. Also note that the additional activities are closed from 12-1, so plan accordingly.
Place has a great selection of outdoor activities! I did the butterfly trail and can only but recommend it, however I'll share some tips: Only do the trail if you have a good health condition and stamina, because the difficulty of the road is indeed high. Please bring good shoes and plenty water, the road is uneven and rocky, plus the temperature rounds about 32 °C or beyond with a strong Sun. Never do the trail without a tour guide, because many areas of the trail there's no a proper road. Finally, my personal mark to walk the road is 1 hour and 28 min, so feel free to break it record ;) Viel Spaß!
Taking hiking shies and some water. Snacks are also a good idea. This place can take from 1 hour to 5 hours so be ready
Had a life changing experience. It’s a beautiful park not bad for mountain biking. It’s possible to get lost be careful getting off path. You will run into wildlife be prepared for that. The park did rent bikes but are not at all recommended for mountain biking. I took my own bike. I’d recommend this place very close to surf city. Super super SAFE no way some one will kidnap you or rob you heavy guarded just stay on the trail and you’ll be okay. It’s okay to take pictures with the military men they are friendly, normal people. don’t be shy to say hello to the guards. Enjoy no complaints here
Good place for kids, good playground. Activities. Went ziplining, reasonable value for money. Walk is guided and included in entry price. You can also camp there for $20/night. All staff very friendly and welcoming.
It is a nice place to enjoy the nature! You can find a totally different environment where you can enjoy a forest and a seaside view! Although you have to be prepare to walk a lot
These guys have been working very hard to make this a beautiful, fun, and safe park. Lots of fun activities and some pretty sights. Staff provides high quality service

My girlfriend and I had a amazing time at Say Zonte during our week in El Zonte. We both felt we had a small base (aka knowing some words) but needed structure. We took 3 classes (2h each) at the beginning of our trip so we could practice during our time here. Best decision! We immediately saw improvement and it helped a lot to speak Spanish with local people for the rest of our time in El Salvador. It also motivates us to keep practicing. Thanks a lot to our teacher Adonay and the school for this opportunity.
Say Zonte offers the perfect way to learn or improve Spanish quickly, and to enhance your stay in the cool surf town of El Zonte. I am very grateful for the 1-on-1 lessons with Adonay, which gave me the confidence to speak Spanish during my further stay in El Salvador. The classes placed great emphasis on practicing Spanish, with grammar impulses adapted to my needs. I highly recommend Say Zonte for anyone who wants to improve their Spanish while staying in the wonderful El Zonte!
Me and a friend are travelling Central and South America for 3 months so wanted to brush up on our Spanish before heading off into the rest of our travels. We booked a week of group classes and it was the best decision we could have made. Adonay was amazing, with his classes catered towards phrases and words that we would be essential for our journey. We both walked away feeling so much more confident in our Spanish speaking skills. Couldn’t recommend Say Zonte enough!
I had a great experience at say Zonte. I only took lessons for a few days but my Spanish improved a lot during that time, especially my speaking and listening because of the variety of things we would do in each lesson. Would definitely recommend to others.
I had a great experience at Say Zonte, thanks to Adonay, my teacher. I’ve never learnt or spoken Spanish before, but Adonay’s friendly & patient teaching style really helped me develop an understand of Spanish words, lingo & phrases.
I had a great experience at Say Zonte. I only took Spanish lessons for a few days while I was in El Zonte, but Adonay took time to focus on some lessons I had difficulty with. I would definitely recommend.
I feel so happy that I chose Say Zonte for my one month Spanish immersion experience as a beginner over other programs I've looked into in other Spanish-speaking countries. Say Zonte really lives up to its philosophy: "Learn Spanish, Practice Spanish, Live Spanish." I did the 1-on-1 Spanish lessons with Adonay daily from Monday to Friday. I'm so grateful for his patience, care, encouragement and personalized approach to plan and teach me what I wanted to learn for the month I was there. I appreciated the common words/phrases/questions that was taught. They were so useful as I often used them in my daily interactions with the locals in El Zonte. I especially appreciated and enjoyed learning about El Salvador and the Salvadoran culture (especially the delicious food!) when I practiced speaking in Spanish by asking questions to Adonay in the first 10-15 minutes of class. Ericka who works at Say Zonte's front desk always takes her time before and after my class to talk to me, so I have even more practice to speak and listen in Spanish. I'm truly so thankful for her too! I can now read a menu, order food, and also have a very basic conversation with locals in Spanish. It's all due to Adonay's exceptional teaching skills and Ericka's warm support. Muchas gracias!! If you're interested in learning Spanish, sign up at Say Zonte. You won't regret it!
We loved our 20 weeks of Spanish classes with Adonay. We had a lot of fun, but above all, what a wonderful progression in our Spanish learning. We're returning to Canada with much more knowledge and will continue with distance learning to improve even more.
