Excellent beach. Super quiet. Totally different from Paje (busy place, kites all over, people...). Here you can really enjoy it. There are some kite spots, have a run, enjoy riding, ... All relaxed and easy. Easy access to see when tide is up.

We had a fantastic half-day tour with Dive Point! From the punctual pickup at our hotel to the perfectly organized equipment distribution, everything went smoothly. The entire team was incredibly friendly and helpful. A special thank you to our dive guide, Salum Toro! He was not only super nice and caring but also very attentive. Thanks to his experience, we were able to discover many fascinating underwater creatures while diving. The two dives were amazing and very well guided. The prices were also very fair, making the experience even better. Overall, an absolutely recommendable experience – we would dive with Dive Point again anytime!

One of the best dive centers I’ve ever been to. We recently went diving with them and it was absolutely wonderful. They’re extremely professional, with an amazing team and well-maintained dive gear. I especially want to highlight Talani as a dive guide — he was truly exceptional. Super professional and respectful. On every dive, he carefully searched for species to show us, always making sure we all got to see them and had time to record them. His attention to detail and care for the marine life were outstanding. The boats used to reach the dive sites are traditional Tanzanian dhows, which is another experience not to miss. Honestly, the entire team — from the dive center staff to the dive guides — was fantastic. I really hope to come back soon!

I had a very good diving day with this center. Booking and equipment rental is easy. Instructors are really caring and explain everything in details so you feel safe and secure during your adventure. During surface time there are fresh fruit and chai to regain energy. Wish I had more time to dive with them again!

Fantastic experience. I highly recommend coming out to give it a try if you are visiting Zanzibar. They had great transport service for getting us to and from our hotel. They offered phone protectors to allow you to take photos under the water which were great!

Have dove all over the world and this is probably the best. Did tatumba island one day and mnemba atoll the next. Incredible fish, shark, sting ray, mantis shrimp, cuddle fish, coral, etc. Loved being transported on the wood boats. Great equipment. Tatumba was best by far. MJ was the best guide, his eyes are killer at finding the good stuff!!

Very nice crew. Great dive master Ali. Very helpfull team. The boat is not the newest and can be crowded (and I was here in low season). All dive sites are around the same spot. I booked via PADI Travel 2 dives too much and was allowed to transfer them to another diver (much appreciated). Again shout out to ALI!!! Thx!

We had two great experiences across 2 days with One Ocean. The dive masters were superb and very friendly, and accommodating of me as a newly qualified diver. My partner had not dived in 10 years so they also provided a refresher dive at the Ocean Paradise resort pool, which was also superb. The dive sites themselves were spectacular, and across the two days our DM made sure we experienced a variety of locations and experiences. Refreshments between dives were great, and the general atmosphere was fantastic. Many thanks to Chief and colleagues - if we return to Zanzibar we will seek you out again!

Excellent experience with One Ocean Diving in Matemwe. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the booking team was very helpful with requests. Great set up at a long established 5-star PADI dive shop. For divers of different experiences and training levels. With fellow advanced open water divers we visited two sites with terrific geography and a host of interesting wildlife. Good to see mostly healthy corals too! 🤙🏼 👌🏼 Staff in the shop processed arrival really efficiently. My diving leader, Phoom, was really experienced and knowledgeable. On board the crew and other local leaders were very hands on with their help and experience in the prep while also respecting and acknowledging my own experience and abilities too. Incredible experience. Highlight of the holiday. Saw hundreds of different kinds of fish in a discover diving course and found myself both becoming more confident in diving and really enjoying my time. An absolute bar again considering all that is included. Instructors were very friendly, cheery and helpful, in particular, my diving instructor, Boko, who was an incredible help and delivered lots of information about the fish and aid whilst doing the dive. Snacks are provided on the tour and the reef was an incredible site with few other boats around, allowing for a more peaceful experience. Definitely would recommend, the best activity on the island for certain. Unfortunately, I have few photos of the reef itself, but it is best kept for surprise.

I recently completed my Open Water Diver course with One Ocean Zanzibar, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Everything was perfect from start to finish and I always felt like I was in good hands. My instructor, Rashid, was extremely professional, patient, and encouraging throughout the entire course, but also able to joke around. I was quite nervous about one particular exercise under water and I really appreciated how calm and encouraging he handled my fear. The atmosphere at the dive center was welcoming, the equipment was well maintained, and the dives themselves and the guides were great. My boyfriend joined me on the four dives and they made sure he could be on the same boat as I was. He was also very happy with the dives. I left not only with a certification, but also with wonderful memories and a new passion for diving. Thank you to Rashid and the entire team for making this such an unforgettable experience!

Thank you for a wonderful week, Eagle Ray team! The main factor that sets Eagle Ray Divers apart is their staff/client ratio. I dived with them for a week, including quiet days and busy days, and had only one or two divers per DM on most dives. The staff - from the shop, to the boat crew, and divers - were all very professional and always put safety first. I was particularly impressed with their good habits underwater, which consistently followed best practice (compared to the complacency I see in many operations). I used my own equipment but the shop kit is good quality and in good condition. Having a good number of staff also allows them to focus on customer service. They're very attentive, without being patronising to experienced divers, and provide a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. I don't tend to focus on the the type of diving because it will be the same with any company here, and it's so subjective. However, if it helps, the stars were: heaps of reef fish, heaps of nudis, peacock mantis shrimp, reef sharks, morays, stingrays, pipefish large and small, blue trevally, napoleon wrasse, potato grouper, giant frogfish, boxfish, batfish...

For being beginners Eage Ray employees put us right at ease. We went with the discovery dive having had no previous experience with scuba diving. We were fitted with gear that fit comfortably, plenty of sizing options. They have a pool in the back that our instructor had us practice in. We got a good lesson about gear names and uses. We were taught how to manage and handle any issues with our instructor close by and in shallow water. We felt very safe and well prepared. The captain and crew were very knowledgeable on the boat. They had plenty of air tanks on board. Our parents were able to be on the same boat with their own guide. After our first dive they provided a delicious light lunch of fruit and small pastry like snacks. It was an amazing and very professional experience. I absolutely recommend them for whatever level of scuba diving you are at.

We are a group of 3 people (F49, M48, M30) who decided to take our PADI diving certificate in Tanazania with Eagle Ray Divers. Despite maybe not being the most impressive looking dive center in the world – and a little difficult to find, we can really strongly recommend this place. Our diving instructor, Faridu, was an excellent instructor/dive master – very calm and with great teaching skills. The diving itself was beautiful, right next to a coral reef, which we got to explore, in particular on our last two open water dives, with Faridu as a guide. (We all passed the course.)

I have had experience with doing scuba diving from the small boat. 4 divers should be the maximum amount of customers on this boat 😉 Very happy about their teamwork. We did our fun dives and OW license here with them! The staff is friendly and kind! The fun dives include light lunch, and will leave around 8:30 to the port to take a boat to mnemba atoll, come back around 14:00 in the afternoon! There’s no problem of the equipment! Excellent experience to get my open water. Faridu is a friendly, calm and experienced master. We enjoyed the day in the pool and 4 dives. Since the shop is close to the reef, we had 4 dives in Mnemba. Nice crew, pleasant lunch and an awesome diving experience. Many thanks for getting me my Padi!
