Scenic 360º views of the island & ocean are offered from atop this mountain with a hiking trail.

Really recommended hike to do in the island, probably the best. Great exercise mixing some moderate difficulty hike with some scrambling at the top, and great panoramic views of the entire island from the top. It can be a bit crowded, and you need to coordinate with the other hikers, as the path is narrow, like a dry gulch in most of its length. You have to start the hike between 6 am and 10 am as per NP rules by going to the National Park visitor center, signing the waiver and paying $15 USD per person. Then you drive across the road opposite the visitor center and you'll get to a well indicated parking lot via a one way paved road doable with any vehicle. For the parking lot, the hike is 2.7 km (1.7 mi) and 267 m (875 ft) elevation climb to the top at 372 m (1220 ft). It took me around 50 min to climb it, some people take up 2 h just for the way up. I wouldn't say it is super challenging but you need to be fit, wear hiking shoes, some water and a hat and sunscreen are recommended even though most ot the path is mostly covered with bushes and trees.
Great hike, you can go right to the top of the mountain and enjoy views in every direction. On a clear day you can see all of Curacao. A lot of the trail is shaded, but it's still a hot hike. Bring a change of shirt/clothes. The trails is mostly rocks and primarily vertical. Elevation gain is 300m over roughly 1.2km. It took 45 min to climb and about the same to return. Entry is $15 USD. You can park right at the trailhead.
Worth hiking to the top! You can enter the park by car but need to get tickets at the base for 15USD. Enter before 10am! The hike up took us about 1h20 with regular breaks. It does get pretty warm and the end of the hike is pretty much on all 4s. Nothing too hard but you do need to be in shape
Amazing experience. Would do it all over again. It's a challenge. Make sure you have good shoes and sunblock don't forget to bring plenty of water. I recommend going as early as possible. Entree fee is 25fl. p/p It's about 345m high from sea level. Amazing view!!!
I highly recommend to start hiking as the park opens at 6am. I liked it very much.. but ohh boy... When we got down at 9:30am it started to be scorching hot... And We've seen people just starting to go up... wow ;)
Great hike to the top! You should start the climb early in the morning (6 to 7 AM is ideal, so if your accommodation is in and around Willemstad you'll have to wake up really early). Bring good hiking shoes as the path is rocky and the last part will require you to do a bit of rock climbing to get to the peak. Totally worth it though! The views and the nature are breathtaking. Also, if you're driving a rental car, make sure that your car can handle climbing steep hills, as you'll need to drive through the natural park from the ticket office to the midpoint of the path, where you actually have to start your climb. Good luck and enjoy!
We started our climb 7.30AM. Took us about 1.30 hours to get to the top. It is a heavy hike but so worth it!! The view and feeling of accomplishment are amazing. Kids seem to have no trouble getting up. I have back problems so the climb was heavy but I managed..... Eventhough we started early and it was raining a little bit at the beginning it became very humid and hot. I really recommend going early... the park opens at 6....
Great hike and great views! I also had a lot of fun climbing up the rocks near the end of the trail, but that may be more difficult for some. I was a little worried because I wore my chacos and everything warns not to wear sandals, but my chacos were perfect! So don’t be afraid if you’re a sandal hiker, you’re probably fine. I think the sandals were probably better for traction than the Nike casual shoes I saw some girl slipping around on lol. We started the hike around 10, so it was a little hot, but there’s a nice little breeze at the top and we even got some rain to cool us off, so it was fine

Museum Savonet is beautiful. Beautiful view. I had been 2 times.
This is museum is located in the plantation house Savonet. The last working plantation in Curaçao in 1968. It's a beautiful plantation house with a rich history. However, this history has to be better curated. There is a lot of potential for storytelling and experiences on the grounds of this former plantation. The story of the 261 African ancestors who got their freedom in 1863 is not told.
Small little plantation house museum. Some infographics inside depicting nature and a small part of life. Would have liked to have more about the house and the life here than the nature but it was interesting enough for a rainy hour.
It's a nice little museum that helps you understand the background of the plantation and how the people lived and died there. There is literally a coffin on the top floor. Also there is a crib with a fake baby in there and a made up bed with old clothes. The window blinds slam closed from time to time very unexpectedly. The place might be haunted. Not sure 👻
They also have very tasty pastechi's and fresh. Hope the café comes back though!
If you pay for entrance to the National Park this is included in the $15 admission. Otherwise it costs just $3. It's worth a half hour visit. The signage about life at the plantation is interesting. Not all the artifacts are labeled. To reach the upstairs there is a very steep set of stairs which would be too much for many people.
Lots of excellent, large displays throughout the museum..lots of Artifacts. Make sure to go upstairs to the "creepy attick" area!
Its a nice museum about the history of a dark period of the Dutch plantations
