One of my favourite beaches in S.A! Love the scenery here. Ample parking available. Nice cafe right on the beachfront. Toilets located close to cafe and parking bay. We enjoyed doing the walking loop up above where you could see stunning views from all directions. We saw a seal 🦭 playing in the water from a distance.
Amazing spot. Waves crashing on the rocks, beautiful views, families enjoying, kids jumping to water off the platform and you have all the facilities you need. I even spotted a dolphin. It was a wonderful experience. I definitely recommend. Check me out @volarphotography
Horseshoe Bay Visited on 19/6/2019 History has it that in 1850, Horseshoe Bay at Port Elliot was controversially selected as the major seaport. Unfortunately, the harbour had a reputation as a "ship trap", with seven ships wrecked between 1853 and 1864. From the lookout vantage point, visitors can enjoy picturesque scenery, and be hypnotised by the sound of the rhythmicmic ruse and fall of the waves. The wind is strong, and the waves keep rushing to the shore wash upon the sand. It is safer to walk on the boardwalk to reach the beach. It must be one of the best tourist attraction. Exercise extreme caution as the waves are big.
Great beach for kids, cafe, toilets, playground and a easy walking trail. Its a beautiful beach and not hugely crowded during school holidays.
An absolutely stunning place. The views over horseshoe bay and Murray bay are spectacular, I would recommend Bowen over Airlee any given day 😁
Beautiful place. Strong tidal undercurrents. Not a place if you're not a confident swimmer.
A really gorgeous bay. Perfect for picnicking, walks or swim.
One of the best beach locations on the Fleurieu Peninsula coast! Very suitable for all the family

Great place for a swim or going fishing. I've caught mulloway there before
Very fun beach, make sure to be a bit careful because it can be dangerous to swim at.
A hidden gem, a great little beach area.. lovely views of Encounter Bay and Victor Harbor..
Great location to spectate surfers! Not for novice swimmers. But amazing location to eat your fish and chips
We went as a family with kids ages 7 and 8 for a swim and the beach exceeded our expectations. The strip was long, which meant we had a whole private section to ourselves which was lovely. The kids loved the cracking sand as they walked. The water was initially fresh though once we all got wet we didn't notice. The best were the waves, the kids loved jumping over them, diving in and being pulled as they resisted. A train came by as we were swimming which was an added bonus to the experience. We will definitely be back again for a swim and play. 🏊‍♀️
My local beach,I love this place 💙
Can't go wrong, spectacular beach!
So much fun if you like body-boarding and big waves. Be careful of the rip tide but as long as you stay waist deep you can still have loads of fun. Does get VERY busy in hot weather.

This museum is well worth a visit. There are so many items of interest for all ages. Beautiful restored buggys, a display of mannequins in period dress, holdhold wares and the original Granite Island train that has been restored. All the restorations have been done by members of the museum.
If you have a passion for historical southern fleurieu agriculture then this is the place for you. $5 entry for adults. Well laid out, plenty of information on the objects.
Great spot. Dean has lots of knowledge and keen to answer any questions. We will visit again
love it here my grandpa works here very good
Valuable collection of historic implements well cared-for by enthusiastic volunteers.
Great displays & great local knowledge.

Absolutely lovely couple at the counter and a great selection of fairly priced records (the main thing I was looking for). All sorts of other treasures, too. Vintage, pop culture, rustic, etc. The kids were extremely happy to pick out some Pokemon cards. Items in the store are stocked by several people, including the owner. I like to have that feel of supporting locals. I will definitely be coming back.
Beware rude covid fanatic working here, she was yelling at people who wouldnt wash their hands before coming into the shop and yelling at them to get out, saying she would call the police!. She rang someone maybe the owner and put them on loudspeaker yelling to them people were in the shop without washing their hands, causing a scene, so ridiculous we and many others left.
Lots of interesting items to look at. Well set out.
Who doesn't love a good antique store?! Weird, funky, historic, beautiful yet creepy things are hidden in there. Love!!
Extremely overpriced, a model car that cost $40 on eBay was priced at $110 in store. Same story with nearly everything. Wouldn’t recommend unless you have deep pockets
A great store. Plenty of variety and at reasonable prices. Good to see sensible COVID-19 precautions.
Overpriced stock been sitting around for years not willing to negotiate on point of sale all prices firm and staff just not interested in helping you out, disappointing experience.
Excellent selection. Friendly staff.

We flew here all the way from Dubai to see the obelisk. Highly recommend
Beautiful area for a walk. The obelisk itself is roped off and seems to be crumbling sadly. It was a great area for birdwatching. Many, many rainbow lorikeets and plenty of other birds such as a red wattlebird. Beautiful scenery but the paths and signage could do with an upgrade as they were looking a bit tired.
Port Elliot is a wonderful place to come and visit, the coast line is amazing and the historic value is worth it, and horseshoe Bay is spectacular.
One of the beautiful places I have ever been to. Great view 😍 love that place.
Always a pleasure to walk here and take pictures
Might not want to come here at night unless you want to awaken the Necrons that sleep underneath this Obelisk
Very good and beautiful place to enjoy the natural beauty of the sea from rock. You will enjoy the wild waves from that place.
Absolutely beautiful but be aware of snakes at rock . See the pic of snakes here

I’ve been a client of Port Elliot Wellness for many years and love Lydia’s Ayurvedic massages. Most recently, I had the vitality spa package and it was amazing! She always checks in with how I’m feeling before she starts the treatment and offers advice to improve my overall wellbeing.
I recently experienced Lydia’s Shirodhara Surrender treatment at Port Elliot Wellness, and it was truly transformative. The combination of the Shirodhara therapy with a full-body Ayurvedic massage was a journey into deep relaxation and balance that left me feeling rejuvenated in body, mind, and spirit. it felt as though all the mental clutter I’d been carrying simply melted away. Lydia’s expertise and gentle presence created a safe and nurturing environment that allowed me to completely surrender to the experience. Lydia’s intuitive touch and knowledge of Ayurvedic techniques ensured that every area was addressed, leaving me feeling lighter and more aligned. Lydia’s passion for Ayurveda and her genuine care for her clients shine through in every aspect of the treatment. From the warm welcome to the thoughtful aftercare advice, the entire experience was seamless and professional. I walked out of Port Elliot Wellness with a profound sense of calm and clarity, as though I’d hit the reset button on my entire system. If you’re seeking a deeply restorative and soul-soothing experience, I cannot recommend Lydia’s Shirodhara Surrender enough. It’s a gift to yourself that keeps on giving! Thank you, Lydia, for sharing your wonderful healing talents. I will definitely be back for more! 🌿
Nothing is more relaxing than Lydia's abhyanga massage or shirodhara. Her services are amazingly therapeutic and serve as a reset on so many levels. I always come away feeling rejuvenated and lighter. Cannot recommend highly enough!
I got my mother a voucher for her birthday, but the customer service was so bad while trying to arrange an appointment that she no longer wants to use the voucher. Very disappointing.
Lydia was fantastic. My wife & I had both the both 1.5hr treatment massage & yoga swing session. It was so good I came back for a 2nd massage the following week. We will definitely be coming back again. Thanks again Lydia.
We have used Lydia’s services a number of times whilst on vacation at Encounter Bay and every time has been perfect. We have tried others (at home and away) when Lydia wasn’t available and keep coming back whenever she is free (we don’t have a lot of notice when we get time away). Whether it be remedial, relaxation, couples or any other massage, don’t go past Lydia.
I have been trying to write this review for a few days but am finding it difficult to put into words how much has changed for me in such a short time. During our initial 1:1 Lydia had an immediate understanding of my situation in body, mind and soul. She was able to witness things manifesting physically in my body and draw conclusions which I then confirmed. I must admit, from seeing a number of both western and eastern practitioners over the years - I came in sceptical. I am genuinely blown away by her knowledge, professionalism and ability to see the truth of the situation through a conversation with the body. The proof is in the pudding... After our 1:1 I had my first full body Ayurvedic massage and herbal steam. Mind blown, again. I move my body a lot in my work, usually I like a strong remedial or deep tissue massage to sooth sore muscles and aching bones. This experience was different. Yes, there was work on the muscles and fascia like usual - but while this was happening it felt like layer after layer of trauma / pain body was being stripped away. I have never felt more supported (and relaxed) through a process of releasing whatever I was holding. And it was a lot! This was just the start of our process. Jumping into the steam box after felt surprisingly relaxing, and I avoid heat (especially humidity) at all costs. Lydia prescribed me with some herbs, a morning ritual, daily practice and some mindfulness tools to support my nervous system in settling as well as advice on what time I need to sleep and wake up to support my dosha. Again, I took this with a grain of salt and the arrogance of feeling like I had done it all before. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised. Within 3 days my energy dramatically improved. My appetite stabilised. My mental health significantly improved. And most importantly, I had body awareness I have not experienced before, maybe ever. Like all new practices, I have been through some periods of "experimentation". When I do not follow my morning ritual (which, by the way feels incredible on all levels but human brains love resistance), I notice everything. My energy is depleted. My appetite gets out of whack again. I go back into running on adrenaline. Generally, I feel pretty rubbish. What I love the most about this process is that you are given tools which you can choose to pick up or put down. There is no control, no expectation. The evidence of how this can work for you is in how you feel. The beautiful thing about Ayurveda is that it is not one size fits all. Lydia is there to support your journey in a way that fits you, on your timeline, as you are ready. I cannot recommend Lydia highly enough, and I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU. Though I am just beginning my journey, it has already changed my life.
Excellent professional service. Loved all of my treatments
