Amazing food and nice ambiance. Stopped by here on our way to Wangaratta for a quick bite. We had to come back the next day for lunch, that’s how we loved the food! The wines are exquisite and good value. Staff are great - good customer service and very friendly.
As a wedding photographer, I absolutely love working at Brown Brothers Winery! I've had the privilege of photographing weddings here in all weather conditions - from intimate small ceremonies to big celebrations - and each and everyone has been absolutely breathtaking. What makes this venue truly special is that you can feel that warmth and passion in everything they do. Everyone always goes above and beyond - they're genuinely passionate about good food, excellent wine, and creating one heck of a celebration! This venue truly shines no matter what. Rain or shine, I can always find the perfect backdrop, and the surroundings are always beautifully maintained. Their attention to detail and genuine care for each couple is incredible. You can tell they truly love what they do, and that passion makes every wedding feel so special. I can't recommend Brown Brothers Winery highly enough - it's consistently one of my favourite venues to work at. Highly recommend, Rachael Emmily
We absolutely adored our visit to Brown Brothers planned by Sarah who put together a wonderful itinerary for us! The setting is beautiful and the cellar door is so inviting with the open fire, historical displays, and use of wine barrels to decorate the space. We had the most amazing tasting & tour experience at the cellar door hosted by Jacob who was fabulous at teaching us all about the different wines and how they’re made in a way that was fun, informative, and relatable as someone who enjoys wine but isn’t overly knowledgeable on the subject. He tailored the tasting to our individual preferences and there wasn’t one I didn’t like. We ended up buying many bottles both for ourselves and as gifts after discovering some new favourites. We also had the 5 course degustation lunch in the winery restaurant which was spectacular. Each course consisted of multiple elements that worked in perfect harmony and were utterly delicious, especially when paired with the matching wines. The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive throughout. Overall I would highly recommend visiting even if it just for a tasting, but definitely check out the range of extra experiences they offer too, there’s definitely more we plan to do too. We’re already planning a return visit for next year as we loved the Milawa region and this winery was definitely the highlight of our trip.
We had a wonderful experience with Milawa Luxe Escape, a collaboration of Brown Brothers and Church Lane Accommodation this weekend. The Church Lane Accommodation was beautiful, quiet and private. At Brown Brothers, we were served the Slow Lunch by Henry and it was such a wholesome experience. We do a lot of rushed meals, so having a slow lunch with beautifully complimenting wines got us to relish the efforts involved. The cheese, cured meats and the accompaniments we received to take with us was lovely too. We brought the 2 matching wines before heading back. The next day we had a slow start, enjoying the Church Lane Accommodation, before going to the Wine Tour and Taste at Brown Brothers’. Rosa was warm, welcoming and knowledgeable in guiding us through our tasting, with great placement to help us take better note of the differences and enjoying the complexities of well made wine. We purchased more wine that we selected from the tasting, that we wanted to share with friends and family. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our weekend in Milawa, Brown Brothers collaboration with Church Lane Accommodation - Luxe Escape. We are especially grateful to the people that made our experience wonderful - Sam, Colin, Henry and Rosa.
We visited here during a nice little day out and had the degustation for lunch, it was a really nice experience and the winery is very pretty, especially with great weather like we had on our visit. The two staff members ( 1 male & 1 female ) who took care of our table were very lovely and accommodating and we received a lovely gift for a recent special occasion which was a very kind finish to our lunch. I really appreciated the extra effort put into accommodating for my nut allergy, I was served my own servings seperate to the others which made me feel very comfortable and safe. Lovely place to visit.
THANKYOU! We recently visited Brown Brothers Winery where I organised a surprise proposal. The team at Brown Brothers were absolutely amazing helped organise photographers, decor and made sure all the staff were in on the surprise. It couldn't have gone better! A special thank you to Dominic and Taylor, who went above and beyond to make our day so memorable and accommodated us so well. The venue is stunning, the atmosphere is incredible, and the food was absolutely delicious. We highly recommend visiting Once again thankyou for making our day so special and one we'll never forget!
Lots of wine styles. Pick 5 for tasting for a fee. Talk nicely and you'll probably get one or two others to taste. Standing and seating tasting. Restaurant. Indoor and outdoor shaded seating. Bean bags in the garden. Popular for dressed up hens parties.
I have had the best day. My birthday and i felt so special. Brown Bros Milawa has always been a favoured destination for me but today, the best. The staff, the food, the wine...nothing was wrong. Everything was ideal: good food, good wine and great service. Service staff are what sells a venue and the staff here today were so friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. My kind of people. I liked every bit of of the menu and recommend them to everybody. Cheers and thanks for helping to make my day so special.

It’s a very beautiful place- cheese tasting, cafe, drinks, a lot of sitting area to enjoy under the shade. Recommended! Bought some cheese after trial~ white tea is great ( lychee, rose) for having there or taking away. Ginger cookies are the best one I’ve ever had so far- less spicy and crunchier. Coffee is good.
Pretty little cafe with a cheese shop next door offering free cheese tasting. However the brie we bought was already moldy and the other one was nothing like what was offered at the tasting. Spent $15 for a small slice of brie that went straight into the bin. Reading other reviews it would seem that people have a similar experience with out of date cheese. Very disappointing and would not recommend to anyone!
There’s a bakery, a cheese shop, and a restaurant here. You can sit outside on the lawn under the trees, and the shop provides picnic mats for customers who purchase something. Just watch out for the shop’s cats sneaking through the door! The cheese shop offers tastings in the morning, around 9:00–10:30 AM, with more than 10 varieties to try. I especially liked the buffalo milk cheese and the King Rover Gold Cheese, which are the shop’s specialties. They’re soft, mildly salty, and have a lovely smoky aroma.
What's not to like about this place? Awesome service and free cheese tasting experience ... Borrow a blanket, cheese platter and knife ... get your favourite cheese and some wines on the lawn ... 👌👌👌
So many cheeses, lots of cheese related items, chutneys, preserves and pickles. We had a free cheese tasting, the staff were so very friendly and entertaining. Very knowledgeable about the cheese too. Thank-you for a lovely experience. My two favourite cheeses of the few we purchased were the Cooper and the David Brown.
Unfortunately, the King River Gold cheese we purchased was a huge let-down — mold was clearly visible on many parts of it, it had a strong unpleasant smell, and the surface was slimy. Straight into the bin it went, along with the $15 we paid for it. Judging by other reviews, this isn’t an isolated case, with many mentioning out-of-date products. Very disappointing and would not recommend to anyone
After trying their cheeses at the Pinot X Mold festival this year, when we saw the sign for the factory whilst driving down the Hume, we had to stop in. This place is dangerous as all their cheeses are delicious and we ended up spending an ungodly amount on cheese. The cafe seems like a great place to go with a group on the weekend.
Cheeses Christ this place is heavenly. We had a cheese tasting and our cheese guide Anna blew us away sampling the 12 cheese varieties on offer. We purchased a bag full of amazing Aussie cheeses and now die happy having tasted these delights.

A brilliant mustard store! Fantastic varieties and the tasting had us sold for multiple purchases. Definitely stop on your way to the Cheese Factory!
Such a sweet and nostalgic place . Yummy local mustard . Thoroughly enjoyed the tour . Bought heaps back home .❤️❤️
Buy this as there is no better on earth – Took 15 years to find this again and I’m giving you all a heads up….. jump online buy a jar or 10 and enjoy the best chilli jam that is made. This stuff is nuts good
Great mustards, a wide variety you can taste and explore. Insightful stories.
What a great little business Jim has got on his hands. All mustards are made on site and have flavours that linger on the taste buds long after you"ve consumed them. Picked up 4 jars and extremely well priced. Can recommend this to anyone looking for something a little different to add to you condiment range.
Lovely little store with a friendly and welcoming staff member. All mustards are made onsite. We purchased a few items, without tasting but now we are home and have tasted 2 of the 3 we purchased, wish we had purchased more! Worth the stop, we will be back!
Stunning products 😍 locally grown owned and made Mustards 🤤🤤 highly recommend stopping in for a tasting but I guarantee you will be walking out with a few jars. Lots of cute little gift niknaks in store too. Park around the back, no park available in the front.
Wow what a lovely little shop full of lots of delicacies. I bought sone mustard that is very tasty. Owner very nice and service great.

We had a fantastic gin tasting experience at Hurdle Creek Distillery. We were fortunate enough to have Simon, the co-founder, guide us through the history and the story behind each gin, explaining what makes them so special. It was really fascinating and engaging, especially learning about the local Australian ingredients and native botanicals they use. Each gin had its own unique and delicious flavour, but our favorite was the Harvest Gin—it truly captured the essence of the Australian bush. We’ve never tasted anything quite like it and couldn’t resist taking a bottle home. Highly recommend stopping by for a tasting if you’re in the area!
I bought a bottle of Powder Monkey and Dark Cacao last month. I love them so much—they’ve become my top favorites at home. Powder Monkey’s taste reminds me of Sipsmith’s VJOP, which has a unique sweet flavor, while the Dark Cacao has become my go-to pairing with various ice creams at home. Besides, I could feel Simon’s passion during the tasting introduction. This is a real hidden gem in the region.
Visited this business today 21 June. Walked in, no friendly greeting, just straight to business. Our host was not only inhospitable but rather unkempt and with filthy fingernails.... a real turnoff when someone hands you a glass and pours the samples. Unlike most businesses that offer free Tastings, this one charges $7 for 6 tastings, though the charge is dropped if you purchase a 350ml bottle of their Gin. Overall I can’t knock their product, the range, though small, is quite good. The prices, on the other hand are set at a premium. I am not a Gin drinker (my partner is though), so I can’t really comment on whether those prices, the majority of which seemed to start at $45.00 for a 350ml bottle, are justified. Can’t say as I enjoyed the visit or the interaction with the Owner. As such I have rated this business Two Stars 🌟 primarily due to the inhospitable attitude that was on display. Worth a visit? If you like Gin, then perhaps yes. Otherwise, for mine, give it a miss. Not one I would recommend!
Such a beautiful little business . Kind owners talked us through the making process . Very friendly and rustic atmosphere ❤️
Boutique and rustic distillery with a $10 tasting fee. Worth a visit if you like gin :-) we were lucky to have been referred here by a local, and luckier still to be the only customers there, so we got a great tasting experience through the gins and other liquors. We ended up taking two of their bottles home with us - in very pretty square bottles that I’m sure we will reuse :-)
Great little small batch distillery just down the road from Brown Brothers winery in Milawa. Know you're getting something different and original from the moment you step in. Was very impressed with the selection to taste and took home a couple of bottles. The grain jenever was fantastic and something for the whiskey lovers! Will be going back for sure.
Just stopped in, on our way through. What a wonderful little hidden gem. Very authentic. Out of all the gins included in the tastings- there was not one we didnt enjoy, and ended up leaving with 3 bottles. We will definitely be back!
Found this distiller by accident in Milawa and sure glad we didnl. Their gin, my word, is amazing. We stock up every year after a taste test and will be back in February for another round. See you soon.

Popped in for a visit on our way home from bright. We saw the Cheese Factory sign and went to the cheese factory but was happy to see this place! The tastings were amazing and plentiful, Anna was friendly and delightful and it was great to walk away with some nice new wines!!
Great winery. Came without any appointment, but they did great job for serving us. The guy was very friendly and poured wines that weren’t on the list. They have tables were you can sit and enjoy wine with cheese plate from the cheese factory next door. We really enjoyed being there. The only drawback (don’t want to remove the star for that) - need more chairs inside.
The Cellar door wine tasting was very friendly with Leslie. She took us through the wines and gave us great background and information about the wines. We were very impressed with their wines, and took advantage of getting our wine shipped free home to our address. We are on a road trip and so we were very happy to make this arrangement. We loved their Shiraz, Pinot Noir, Rose, and Pinot Gris. Definitely a good smaller local winery in Milawa, and a great option to visit when passing through town.
Ten stars, these wines are phenomenal. Make sure you visit here to taste the best this region offers! The experience and knowledge of the staff were brilliant and delivered with passion. I'm a massive fan of Saperavi, and that blend with a well-matched Shiraz was OUTSTANDING. The Zinfandel and Roussanne are both stunning. There are so many great wines here on tasting and priced accordingly. Well done!
Found this by accident when we went to the cheese factory. Very welcoming staff and the wines are really good! If you like good wines, visit them !
100% worth a visit! Some complex wines at very affordable and reasonable prices. The tastings were generous (not wasteful) and took you through about 5 whites and 5 reds. The host was very knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming (and the chief winemaker is an environmental scientist!). Since we ordered several boxes the host did allow our request for a non standard tasting, and even stayed open 10mins late to get us boxed up and in the car! 5* for these guys! Great experience!
I usually avoid going to wineries as I don't usually enjoy wines but the muscat drew me in, we had a lovely tasting and went home with a few new drinkable wines to enjoy!
Thanks John for the delicious tasting! Wood Park Wines have an amazing selection of interesting wines and varietals.

I absolutely adore the creamed honey! Its my favourite honey, sadly all the other brands are so hard you cant spread them and they dont taste nearly as good. The Walkabout Apiaries Creamed Honey is divine and I have just ordered more jars so we never run out! Thankyou for such a beautiful product. Not only tastes sensational but spreadable too :)
I purchased a 3 kg tub of the Raw honey and it was delivered very liquidy and I put it down to the warm weather. It has now been 2 months and it hasn't solidified yet and the taste is not the same either. I emailed them (twice) to rectify the issue and called them to ask if this is a normal thing with the Raw honey , but to no avail. They have lost a regular customer as I have purchased the Raw honey for almost 3 years with no problems and I have never experienced the Raw honey being so liquidy. I am very disappointed with the service and the product.
We just love the raw honey! We have made a special trip to King Valley just to buy more raw honey. Wish the farm was open so we could buy direct and see where it comes from!
Absolutely love the raw honey it’s the best I’ve ever found and goes really well with tea. Love the 1kg tubs.
On a hunt for good raw and real honey that tastes like it's just been freshly squeezed from the comb, we went to our new local organic produce store in Bright and that's where we found THE BEST honey! Having the pleasure of having bees growing up, I was yet to find honey that tastes so delicious until walkabout caught my eye and bam this scrumptious stuff is now a must in our household. If you ever have the opportunity to buy this honey, man get yourself a kilo to sweeten your day 🌻🧡
We heard about this place 3 years ago and thought we should investigate. Good honey is very difficult to find. What supermarkets have on display are not genuine, most are blends or watered down. Walkabout we were told is a small family operation. Which business would close 4:00pm week days and 3:00pm weekends? l was told that they closed early so they could do work around the bee farm. Since we learnt about the farm, we have made a day trip for the last 3 years just to have their honey. And you know it is genuine not a mix. Direct from the farm the price is very good and it is worth to stockpile ,because honey will never loose its taste.
Lovely people doing a great job. Visited there last week, tried several types of honey. Bought some honey and have been enjoying it on my toast and in my hot lemon and honey drinks. Definitely recommend this business.
The lady serving us was extremely rude. A simple question about whether or not the candle wicks were lead free resulted in assumptions about us coming from the inner city, and basically that we shouldn’t be concerned about lead candles if we live somewhere pulluted already? (Which we don’t)..& that if I’m so concerned I should just make my own.. great knowledge of the products you stock! We were not offered a tasting until I had already taken a jar of honey over to the counter to buy. Extremely poor service and a disappointing experience. Not recommended.
