I 100% recommend doing the skyrail. I did it there and back and WOW such amazing views. You get if at two stops between the start and finish and you get the most amazing views of the rainforest and the waterfall. I also fully recommend getting of at karunda and exploring the town, it was so beautiful.
Amazing experience gliding over World Heritage rainforest with stunning views of Barron Falls and the canopy. The mid-stations with boardwalks and ranger talks make it more than just a ride—it’s educational and memorable. Diamond View gondolas are worth it for the glass floor. It can get warm in the cabins and busy at peak times, but overall it’s a must-do when visiting Cairns.
We took the railway up & the skyrail down. Excellent experience - a definite highlight of the holiday. Staff were friendly and efficient. Spectacular views. Great gift shop. The stops were great to make it a full experience and provide great views of the falls. It works very well, being able to get on and off, with staff talking you through the process each time, and keeping it running smoothly.
Don't miss this! Fantastic views above the rainforest. The waterfall is exquisite! We took the adjoining tram to Kuranda Village which is mostly shopping and cafes. Then a boardwalk walk through the rainforest.
Take the train up and Skyrail down. Book in advance. Hop off the Skyrail on the way back to see the waterfall from the other side ( better view). 8am to 1pm was more than enough to see everything. They will say you must be there 30 minutes before train’s departure, but look 10-15 is plenty.
Another great trip while in Cairns, scenic rail to the Karunda village, aboriginal experience, cruise down river on army ducks, then the amazing trip down on the skyrail. Highly recommend this day trip. It's a long day but we'll worth it.
Absolutely great experience high above the tree tops. Takes a good 45min to get to the top woth stops along the way. Amazingly great experience and would highly recommend. The diamond on the gondola up was ok but probably would not recommend, better to get the gold train back down.
We booked our Skyrail tickets a month in advance for a mid week (out of school holidays). We arrived with plenty of parking, no queues and seamless boarding. The gondola was cool and uninterrupted to all three stops. Staff were friendly and gave concise advice at each stop. Kuranda needs only 1.5hrs for shopping and lunch. Unfortunately the train back down was a sweat box and we ended up standing by the windows fanning each other. Our tip is to take some cold drinks down with you. Shuttle buses with AC met us at Freshwater station which was a relief. Overall a good experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had our wedding at Skypark, and it was absolutely beautiful! As you can see from the pictures, the venue exceeded our expectations and turned into the perfect spot for our special day. Initially, we didn’t expect it to become such an amazing setting for a wedding, but it truly was. The staff were incredibly supportive and kind throughout the entire process. They helped us so much, and we are beyond grateful for all the assistance and care they provided. The venue was stunning, and the service was exceptional. Thank you to the entire team for making our day unforgettable!
I didn’t take part of the activities but watched . The staff made us feel welcome to watch and no cost . Beautiful setting with cafe and bar . Fun watching those brave people jump .
Fun thing to try. Prices are pretty good. Staff are friendly and helpful. A lot of stairs to the top, gets the heart pumping. Probably wouldn't do it again. Nobody mentioned the free Tshirt, luckily one staff member told us about it on the way out.
I booked the Big Swing for my mother and I on her birthday this week. The big swing was absolutely amazing! We ended up booking a tandem bungee but I was a bit nervous and my mum ended up doing a solo jump. Very entertaining watching everyone jump & swing. The staff are very friendly. I was very happy with the footage of our big swing. I received a voucher for my bungee jump. We will be back sometime soon so I can complete my first bungee. Thankyou for the great day! My mother very much enjoyed her birthday.
2nd time bundgy jumping and the thrill was still the same as when I jumped at Skypark Sentosa by AJ Hackett! Highly recommend! Staff was very helpful and easy to talk to 😀
Another awesome experience at Skypark. This places was the reason we came back to Cairns. Great facilities, a bar and a hot food available. Staff were super friendly, they're inclusive and accommodating to everyone of all ages and abilities. My son had a great time bungy jumping for his birthday. We bought tickets in advance for simplicity's sake, but you can purchase them there too.
Amazing experience! The bungee jump was absolutely insane — pure adrenaline from start to finish! The team was super friendly and professional, and the pickup right in front of my hostel made everything so easy. Totally worth it — 10/10 would do again!
Such an incredible experience! The bungee jump and giant swing were thrilling and so well run — I felt safe, supported, and full of adrenaline! Huge thanks to our driver(Mina), who was friendly, fun, and gave amazing local recommendations that made the day even better. Left feeling confident and full of joy — 100% recommend! 🙌

Very nice place. Nice and secluded, great shady walking track with plenty of parking spots and a public toilet which is clean! You will encounter plenty of wild life from bush turkeys to blue tongue lizards. Be careful if snakes and of course crocodiles which there are warnings for. Stay on the designated walking tracks and you will enjoy your day. No swimming allowed.
What a beautiful, pristine area. It's in a good, secluded location (away from traffic and noise), it is always very well maintained and the paths make it accessible for anyone. There's a lot of wildlife to be seen here. There are crocodiles living peacefully in the water so don't venture too close to the edge of the water. If you have binoculars, bring them along to see the birdlife - best found in the morning! We're blessed to have this beautiful place here.
Wish we had more time to sit here as there are bird watching blinds. It's much nicer than I expected and walks are all easy and flat graded. My son even found a snake skin.
Beautiful wetland environment, lots of birds and lots of mosquitoes, take repellent or you’ll get attacked. Palm forest boardwalk is well worth a visit. Tracks are mostly paved so pram and wheelchair friendly.
Really beautiful wetland location, and an absolute must for birders visiting Cairns. It's broken into two main types of wetland: well-maintained tourist friendly walks around the major lakes. These routes allow you to see most of the major water birds (pygmy geese, spoonbills, jacanas, etc), but don't have all that much else. Facilities along this route are great. There a bird huts, picnic tables, toilets, plenty of chairs overlooking the lakes, and several places to drink and refill water bottles. There is also a less easily walked set of paths (easily accessible from the main paths or from the main road that runs alongside the wetlands) that go through other parts of the wetland including the Fairy Wren Billabong, through woods and shrubby areas. These paths are not always not well maintained, and at times are more like animal tracks than human paths (prepare to be pushing through branches). Here you're more likely to see birds like orioles, pheasant coucals, lovely fairy wrens and others. Note that some of these paths will take you very close to the creek which is fairly stagnant and when I went had a truly Amazonian number of mosquitos. Insect repellent isn't just recommended, you might get sucked dry without it. It's only easily accessible by car. It does have a large car-park directly out front, but if you're not driving there's not even a footpath that'll take you to the entrance. Depending on where you're coming from it will be anything from a 15-40 minute walk to get to the wetlands from the nearest bus. As an aside, the council really needs to get their act together and station a ranger at this location for a while. I visited twice in November and during those visits I encountered both people fishing (not just disruptive to wildlife and against the signed rules of the place, but extremely dangerous as I have it on good authority from a local that there are fairly regularly crocodiles found in the lakes and close proximity to the water's edge is just a really bad idea), and astonishingly someone taking a joyride on a dirtbike along the paths. The individual on the dirtbike had torn right through the middle of prime bird habitat and left quite a bit of damage.
Beautiful nature and quite peaceful. Great place to jog or walk around.
beautiful wetlands, great educational signage, clean bathrooms, lots of picnic areas and places to bird watch. 10/10.
A great place to go for a stroll and learn about our wonderful local wildlife.

What a fabulous place! Awesome staff - friendly and knowledgeable. I don't drink beer and they had a decent pinot grigio for me. My partner loved their beers - had a couple paddles to try as many as he could. Lovely outlook and great breeze. They had snack boxes but we are vegetarian so didn't try them. We had a packet of chips - which suited me. Definitely recommend.
Amazing range of stunning craft beers. Friendly inviting venue with great staff. A true gem in FNQ and a must when in Cairns. A beer for every taste and a range that puts pubs to shame.
Chilled vibe, great beers and food truck available to buy lunch/dinner. Visited around 5pm on a Sunday afternoon. Very friendly staff, great views from inside the warehouse and a fantastic selection of beers to choose from. We opted for beer paddles to try as many as we could. Love the games table where you can grab and play at your table while enjoying your drinks. Definitely worth a visit if you’re visiting Cairns, Trinity Beach or the local area.
Friendly, locals love it here Great variety of good beers made onsite and also wines and bubbly Pretty hard to beat this place a fav of our sin Cairns northern beaches.
Do yourself a favour and check out Macalister Brewing when you are in Cairns. I know it is a little while out of town but the beer is fantastic and the vibe is lax! Really loved the warehouse feel and really enjoyed the scenic view. Just a really nice time out to enjoy a brew or two.
Drinking this beer while enjoying the scenery and feeling the breeze is truly bliss. The staff are also very friendly. It's a little far from the city, but it's worth the trip.
Nice brewery. Service was quick and the bartender was knowledgeable. Very large venue with a food truck outside. They have a stage and advertise a lot of events so it seems like they have something going on every night if the week.
Great people, great place, great beer. I am not usually a beer drinker but I like this beer. There are lots to choose from and they have new ones on tap every few months. The owners are lovely people and the staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable-some are learning to be brewers themselves. This is a great spot to go to meet up with friends or to meet new friends. There are no pokies or TVs to talk over the top of and the view is spectacular, especially on a full moon night. There are different food vans out the front from Thursday to Sunday who all serve good beer drinking food. We’ve made this our local.

Great view, a must do for anyone visiting Cairns. It's free and it has a bin. I was upset to see rubbish around the area however I was informed of a recent landslide that took the bin. So I can't fault them for the enormous task of cleaning after a cyclone. Very happy to see this
Great place to stop on the way to Kuranda to view Cairns and the coast. It can be a little tricky turning in going up the mountain as it is on the right hand side of the road, so take care and make sure you take the first entrance. Same when exiting, take care. Definitely a great view.
Definitely a top spot to look down to the tropical paradise that is Cairns. Look over the Northern edge of Cairns City to glimpses of Trinity Beach and Yorkeys Knob. Across rainforest, over Smithfield, canefields, jumbo jets of eager tourists flying in to exotic sandy beaches opening on to the pleasure of cruisers enjoying the Great Barrier Reef. Unfortunately it is the major attraction the lush rainforest trees themselves that lets you down. Basically you cannot see a lot of the view for the trees. Parking is very limited and re-entering traffic is really running the gauntlet, quite risky. Renewal and reinvention and a good re-think of this unique, gorgeous but increasingly inaccessible site should be demanded by the people of Cairns who hold Henry Ross Lookout in a special place in their hearts.
Nice little lookout! Great place to get a great view for sunrise.
Beautiful views safe parking place for your car
Plan to pull off here for 10 minutes . Put it in your journey. It makes a nice break on the twisty road. Concise history, geography and ecology info.
View of the whole city , great stop on the way to Kuranda
What a spectacular view! Great place to stop on your way back down from the Kuranda Rainforest Market.

Fantastic huge centre. It's all there, every shop you can imagine, some quite innovative. Wise to check the floor map if your you're not good on walking. There are several easy access carparks and many entries closer to your call of your choice. I Love the place Fantastic. D
Smithfield Shopping Centre is my local shopping centre. Yes I get a lot from Kuranda IGA, but id be lost without Smithfield Shopping Centre. Got my barber in there, Christian at Smithfield Barbers, got Woolies and Coles and half day Quarter Marathon opportunity in between. Nice Food Court in 2 zones, the inside one with a Outside area that's wonderful and cool, the Food places around the Woolies entrance have indoor/outdoor dining. There a super Cool Butcher and my favourite shop the WholeLife HealthFoods just between the two main food areas of the Centre. There is of course wonderful Sushi, a Cafe and all sorts down the Coles end. Very Cool Shopping Centre! Theres 4 or more great hairdresser and barber opportunities, there's Fashion plentiful through the middle CarriageWay that makes up the spaceship that is Smithfield Shopping Centre mate.
This is the worst shopping center in cairns probably the worst in the world. I'm not trying to be hurtful but if you're looking for a place to shop then you should go anywhere else. I am being as honest as I possibly can be with this review but this place is just awful. Would recommend you going literally anywhere else.
This shopping centre is a great place to find what your looking for many variety stores. And place to stop on my way to cairns .
Not sure what Andy is talking about. It was your usual shopping centre. Nothing wrong at all. I reckon K2 50 liters of water in the bowl.
Had a few issues when we arrived at the Smithfield shopping center in Far North Queensland. But we both enjoyed our Oriental meals and shopping.
It's a shopping centre with easy access and parking - good place to stock up on the basics for your holiday rental
A great shopping centre with a vast range of shops. Food shopping, boutiques, shoes and knick knacks. Something for everyone.

We were staying in Cairns CBD but made the 20-minute drive to Event Cinemas Smithfield – totally worth it! The staff were friendly and helpful, the cinema was spotless, and the seats were in excellent condition. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Overall, a great experience and we’d definitely come back.
Event cinemas is amazing, great customer service, friendly and kind, very clean and tidy, amazing music while waiting for the movie, the seats are very comfortable and it's cool the temperature in the cinema rooms are very cool and comfortable, only thing I would say gets a 1 star is the popcorn it's not the best, needs more salt and butter, everyone likes buttery popcorn 😀 other then fantastic
Came in for a movie, popcorn was cold as soon as I got it, mentioned it to the staff and they ignored me. I had to repeat myself 4-5 times to old love in order to get my drink. Cinemas was nice, staff not so much.
Watched Sir David Attenborough’s new film Ocean yesterday at Event Smithfield. It was the only cinema in Cairns yesterday that still had this movie on. It was a pretty good turn out of audience I would say. The whole experience was smooth and enjoyable.
Just had my first cinema trip with my rollator and using a companion card and the whole experience was so smooth and I was treated so kindly. I was so anxious about my rollator being an issue in the cinema space wise but I'm cinema 3 there is a space by the pins Infront of row E that's perfect to park your aid and I was able to sit in the row behind it which let me feel safe knowing I could see my rollator and it wouldn't get damaged etc. There was 0 issue with me using my companion card and I was treated like any other customer. I was even able to use it with the half price Tuesday cinebuzz deal! It was also quiet and very very clean, including the bathrooms which were also very accessible. All in all an awesome experience for my first trip to this cinema and my first time at the movies with a mobility aid. Would highly recommend to any other disabled folks who are worried about using a mobility aid
Was clean, good seats but the sound dropped out and it turned into a silent move mid way through. Spoilt an otherwise great movie.
Wonderful experience, very kind and helpful with accessibility for my partner's mobility aids. It was a great experience and the staff were lovely
Friendly and efficient staff. Clean and comfortable seating. Scary movie 😱
