I had seen this place advertised for years, but never had the time to go there when I was visiting Feilding, before now. What a gem! I wish I had made the effort to go sooner! It has an amazing display of carts, coaches, early farming implements, and old machinery used by the settlers who founded Feilding and surrounding areas, The exhibits give a comprehensive explanation of the native bush and birds in the area, development by early landowners, local farm workers, and business owners and how they achieved what they did. The displays are extensive, and there are some interactive areas where you can climb up and sit in some of the carts and carriages. The displays are so well done, and well researched. Many items have been donated from private individuals, and these are all acknowledged with gratitude. It is obvious that the exhibits have been created as a labour of love from the many talented volunteers, as a wonderful record of the people who saw the vision of what Feilding, Ashhurst, Kimbolton, and other local towns could be. Now that we know about this place, we will definitely put it on our list to bring family and friends visiting from other areas. It is a fabulous place to visit, and well worth the drive through to Feilding. Entry prices were reasonable, and we spent a couple of hours there, wandering around. Access is easy for anyone with mobility issues, and there is plenty of parking available.
Wow. What a great place. So much to see. Well worth a visit. If you are traveling you can park here for 3 nights as long as you pay to visit the Museum
A great place to learn about local history. The volunteer staff were friendly and helpful. There was an art exhibition on as well as the displays of vintage machinery and horse-drawn vehicles. I particularly liked the settler's cottage, and the blacksmith's forge. I saw some lovely gifts in the Museum shop, brand new items, and also donated horse ornaments which were varied and quirky. A second-hand books shelf provides funds for the Community Archive which is also in the same building.
I was part of a guided group. There is much to see and discover here. The craftsmanship of the items that have been restored is inspiring. Our guide seemed to know so much and obviously loved sharing knowledge and answering our questions. Well worth the entry fee to support this collection of local historical snapshots of life 'back then'. I also liked how acknowledgement was made for donors and also those who had used their skill to restore or upkeep the items.
Very interesting, great to learn some local history. Entry fee was $15/adult,but was very worthy.
Just happended upon this place while waiting for my car to be repaired, and it’s great! Really interesting to see all this NZ history restored so well, and the volunteer hosts were very friendly with interesting stories to tell.
What a fantastic museum! So much history, very well laid out and clean! Everything looks well looked after. The two gentleman at the front desk were very polite and helpful. Excellent price too!
Nice find, history of farming and new zealand so interesting. Equipment and displays are very good, well maintained with lots of love and care into museum by staff

After nearly 2 decades of ahopping and supporting local producers, Feilding Farmers Market is one of my favorite farmers, markets, and a member of Farmers Markets NZ
S&Js Tail Wagging Treats are there for your dog with amazing treats. Beth's baking with your human Treats Wedge nz with amazing cheese, and hot food great for people who have particular allergies. Always great fresh fruit and vegetables. Flowers great coffee, and lots more
This is a cute farmers markets, quite small and not a lot of variety however is very cute and lots of good treats available to buy. I really liked the cherish bowls, as shown in some of the pictures and thier is a wide variety of flavors that are available to have. Other cute stalls include bobo and thier is a gorgeous and beautiful looking sweet food store . Cute markets with little variety, however in a way that's what makes it so cool.
Its ok it is exspensive.they have items of difference the stalls all privately own from selling vegs which could be orgnic sell plants there has been bakery selling to and grafts.they sometimes have music or singing going on.
Nice day out to Fielding, a small market with a variety of produce, food, and small goods stalls. Check out the rest of fielding while visiting.
Went thinking we would come away with nothing but pleasantly surprised. Amazing market. Great prices. When we come to Feilding again we will make sure we come to the market.
Great local market, excellent range of products available. Come & meet the locals 🙂
Good just not enough stalls

Great place to stay. Manager is super kind! Cleanliness 9/10. Comfortable 9/10. Very impressed and will definitely look to stay here again next time we’re down. Great location for the racetrack. Affordable- but you don’t need to sacrifice anything important like cleanliness ect for it. Definitely better than any motel I’ve stayed at recently. Little bit of road noise but that’s like any motel really. It’s not luxury, but it’s very very comfy and clean. The manager allowed us a room on very short notice, and worked with us for us to keep the room an extra night. She seems like a very thoughtful, kind and caring woman. We really appreciated that :) Overall- good job to the staff, this place is great.
10/10 - simply outstanding! Impeccably clean, lovely matching decor down to the finest details. You can see the owner puts care and thought into her Motel not only by the looks and feel of the room but also by the smallest things like quality coffee, tea and personal hygiene products. Even my 12yo was super impressed! She even gave us some hot cross buns with butter as we arrived very late and tired, when she came to greet us with a warm smile to hand us the key. The beds were incredibly comfortable, with darknenned curtains, the room was quiet and restful. The bathroom is brand new and spotless with fresh clean towels. The owner is thoughtful, kind and very welcoming. One of the best little motels we've stayed at and will definitely choose to stay here whenever we're in the area. Thank you for your amazing hospitality. Karina and Jett.
Wonderful three night stay at the Manfield Motel in Fielding. Everything was clean and spotless with comfortable beds, fresh linen and towels and a very well run, professional manager/owner. We enjoyed a great stay and highly recommend this Motel.
I did not usually post comments but my husband and I recently stayed here and Helen was friendly, helpful, and went over the top to make us feel comfortable and enjoy our stay. The motel is very clean the rooms are spacious and are very well stocked. All the other people we met there were very friendly it was a lovely place to stay and I will be staying there again if we are ever going through Fielding. Just wanted to say thank you very much Helen and we hope you get some time to enjoy your golf you deserve it
Hubby has stayed here previously due to work commitments, and this time I tagged along for the ride. We had a 2 night stay. Absolutely not one thing to fault - the extremely friendly greeting on arrival, the beautiful smell when we entered our room, everything was spotlessly clean. Easy walk to town to cafés and restaurants. Feilding is a delightful town and Manfeild Park Motel is the only choice of accommodation for us both, whether travelling together or just hubby on his own. I will definitely tag along next time he has work in the Manawatu region, just to stay at this delightful motel once again. Definitely recommend!
We had a meeting at Manfield which this motel is directly opposite so suited us well. (Including trailer parking) The rooms were warm and comfortable. Helen is a pleasure to deal with! We will definitely stay again when next in Fielding.
Awesome place. Had a good stay. Well managed by the Manager/Owner. Good hospitality. Highly recommended.
The owner made us feel welcome and of value. Certainly, I will be using this motel on my next stay.

This is the epitome of a NZ rural experience. Well done Feilding for adding the tour. Well worth it and thank you Stewart for sharing your knowledge and your humour.
I went on the tour with Alan, a retired farmer. The tour was $10. Very interesting insight into the selling of cattle and sheep.
Great place to visit if you're interested in farming. Great cafe near by. Cattle arena very loud. They need to turn the microphone down or you can take ear plugs - you'll need them.
It's been going a long time. Farmers put alot of stock here. They have tours for the public. Amazing to watch. Very animal friendly.
It is so accessible and you can literally be part of the stock sale by auction proceeds. Friday morning around 10.30 is the best time
Great place to bring anyone who hasn't experienced the sales. It's smelly and noisy, and real.
It was a great time to learn how saleyard operated including sheeps and cattle bidding.
It was good I go there often

The lovely lady at the information centre was friendly and very knowledgeable about the local area. She spent time showing me some cool local walks as well as bike trails a bit further afield. She printed off a new version of the local Feilding map that she had just received in an email. Super helpful. Thanks so much 👍
The one stop shop to find out what's on and what makes feilding tic
Thank you! Your local knowledge meant we made the most of our stop in Feilding. Stewart was an excellent tour guide around the saleyards. Your large map and handouts have made our tour planning so much easier too.
I waited outside to catch a bus along with about 12 others so there were not enough seats for us all... that's ok, better to move and shift feet in the cold weather. Plenty of parking for family to drop travellers off and a coffee cart opposite for those wanting refreshments
Really not nice toilets with no baby change table. Come on Feilding you can do better
Was a good experience amenities which are owned by NZR not reliable need to have sewer drain upgraded
Friendly obliging staff. Thank you for the trouble you took to answer our questions. Now we have the information we need for our next visit to beautiful Feilding.
Such friendly and helpful ladies in this office! They even gave my nosey 2 year old a muffin! Fantastic service!

Excellent place to experience quintessential Kiwi Holiday and at the same time well run glamping facilities. Sarah is a great host, she is very knowledgeable and provides fresh as 'paddock to plate' catered meals that are delightful. The Ridge Top farm is well managed and we enjoyed the well formed tracks with excellent views. Highly recommended.
We managed to sneak in a mini Honeymoon getaway for a night. Absolutely loved it! Beautiful facilities. Very serene. Host was lovely. Thank you for a wonderful and very private getaway on your farm Highly recommended! Only 30 mins out of Palmy.
Stayed here for a friends birthday and it was amazing!! Breathtaking views. Lovely place to stay I would highly recommend.
The host Sarah is a fantastic person, good to talk to her and learnt lot about farm and sheep! Good to stay for at least 2 days, which give you enough time to look around!
An amazing family Glamping trip, a very well thought out place to go for a break away from normal life
