Love, love, love this!! Such a great time, remember to bring jackets it gets cold at night. We saw a massive amount of penguins and we explored the area during the day also and saw some penguins in their nests. Si ch a great experience and love the information given to us prior. Highly recommend.
A super cute experience I would highly recommend all of friends to come to a visit to see the little penguin. We got the chance to stay in the experience ticket which cost more however I will say that’s really deserved because you really can see the penguin came back to the home. Also was the experience ticket you have your own bridge which you can see the penguin get back home to avoid the general tickets stand crowded.
Phillip Island is such a lovely destination! It’s easily accessible by car via the bridge and there are beautiful viewpoints around the island. The main town is charming and the beaches are stunning — perfect for relaxing or taking a walk. A great place for a day trip or a short getaway.
Incredible experience, over 1000 penguins returning home every evening. We paid extra for premium plus seating and the penguins were walking right up to us. We went in June and Penguins arrived at 5:50pm. The rain held off just long enough for us to wait about an hour and half. Tip bring gloves, scarfs, raincoat and thermos in winter. It still gets very cold and windy by the water. I might add there’s no photos allowed past sunset but we got lucky and got to see this guy come back just before sunset.
We heard so much about this experience. We could not wait to see the penguins. We decided to go on a tour and the last stop in the tour was the penguin parade. It far exceeded our expectations. However, we should’ve purchased the VIP tickets for a better view. Also, I suggest having a puffer hat and a scarf because it was cold! I really loved the gift shop because there were different types of gifts, depending upon people’s preferences and multiple communities were represented too. I got the cutest tea towel and A-to-Z animals book for my baby.
Strongly recommend getting the penguin premium or plus. The viewing points are so much better. It’s pricey but totally worth it! What a wonderful visit!
Great experience at the Penguin Parade. Recommend shelling out for the Penguin Plus if you can. Bring a jacket and be prepared for it to be busy. But very well organised and clear instructions from friendly staff. Enjoyed the talk before to learn more about these amazing animals.
Our Go West tour was specifically for my wife and I to see the Penguins in their habitat and to watch the Parade. We were able take video and pictures along the boardwalk by the ocean. The boardwalk was safe for my wife to walk and we definitely enjoyed seeing the penguins; I mention this because it shows how important safety is to this organization for folks who come to visit especially if they are physically disabled or families with buggies. And seeing homes made for the little penguins and the well kept natural homes for them was amazing. When it was time to go to the visitors center we enjoyed an early dinner. May I say that with the number of guests eating at the restaurant the quality and plating of each dish we ordered was delicious and well presented. I observed your restaurant manager, Heni, take the time to look for guests whose food had been made but not picked up because they were sitting where the buzzers didn’t reach them. In all my time I’ve never seen that level of customer service before. We so enjoyed our overall experience of the penguin parade even with the rain and earlier then expected closure due to safety concerns with thunder and lightning. In addition, I am writing to let you know what an amazing group of people you have working at the Phillip Island Nature Parks. Every person we came in contact with was kind, helpful, and wonderful. Stephanie and others assisted my wife who needed the buggy down to and from the viewing platform as walking is strenuous for her; your staff assisted and made sure she had a place to view the penguin's waddling to their homes. On my walk back to the visitor center as my wife was on the buggy one of your orange vested staff shared information about the bandicoots and the story of their reemergence on the island (I’m so sorry I didn’t get your name, you were knowledgeable and friendly). And Steven, thank you for taking the time to speak with me about some of what I wrote here. Thank you all for your efforts and love for Phillip Island Nature Parks flora and fauna.

Must wear wind proof jacket to withstand the strong wind, we are vy lucky to see a few penguines under the board walkway, many people searching for them & once found it will be a crowded spot with many photo shooting. The sea view with cliff, strong wave, birds, are breath taking. The road infront of parade will be blocked after 7pm+, public will not be able to see a free penguin go up shore. Drive slow & careful of wallaby or other animals crossing.
Visited during sunset and the view was absolutely stunning. The walkways are well-maintained and offer great vantage points to see the coastline and waves crashing below. The air was fresh, and the area felt peaceful despite a few tourists around. Seals could be seen from a distance, and the golden hour lighting made the whole place feel surreal. A great spot to take in nature and end the day.
One of my favorite places to come and walk about. We got to see penguins and their little homes in the hillsides. We walked the whole path and took a lot of photos. We had an amazing time. Would recommend checking this place out if you're in the area. It is very much worth the time.
WOW! Breathtaking views from every angle and best of all, free to view and capture photos of penguins returning to their nest. Be ready to be blown away 💨 as it’s windy as. Don’t forget to wear trousers and windbreaker and hold on to your hat 🌬️ worth the 1.5hr drive from the city. Would recommend to be on your list when visiting Melbourne
The walking path to the viewpoint is still fully accessible, but note that there are no toilets onsite. The closest facilities are at the Penguin Parade Visitor Centre, so it’s best to stop there first. The views from the top are absolutely breathtaking and worth the trip. No drones allowed unfortunately There’s plenty of parking on weekdays, but expect it to be busy or full on weekends.
Must see in Melbourne. The penguins parade The penguins are so cute. We have waited for them till 8:30pm Great experience!
This was my first time visiting “Nobbies Ocean Discovery Centre". I arrived there around 4:30 p.m. in April, so it was a bit chilly. But I was glad I visited because I could enjoy the ocean view along with the rugged rock formations. Walking along the pathway was really comfortable, and it was a great bit of exercise, too! Next time, I’ll come back with my kids so we can explore the paid area together.
Review Date: 25.05.2024 The boardwalk is absolutely stunning—a must-visit! If you're lucky, you'll catch a glimpse of penguins in their natural habitat, which is a truly magical experience. Peaceful, scenic, and perfect for nature lovers.

Nice beach! Nice View!!! Found few surfer in here. A bit strong current! Plenty of parking… I reckoned this a good place for sunrise and sunset!!!
At some point, when you are literally alone on the beach, you have the impression that it is paradise! The best place for relaxation, with the sound of the waves, on the perfect sand! Pure emotion.
Loved it.... not dog friendly :/
Tunnel To The Future. It is a beach where many go for surfing. It was evening when we were there. The entrance to the beach was so beautiful with all the branches, yeah, took a good perspective it seems we are heading to the future.
This beach wasn't crowded and really clean. The tide was quite strong and the sand was so soft. Nice place to spread out a mat and tan or read a book.
Toilets are very clean accessible. Surfers love the area No life guard most of the time Strong currents and waves No camping allowed, i put up a beach tent and got away with it. If you go down to the beach its easy walking downhill but its a bit of work walking back up.
Passed by this beach and decided to check out. We arrived at the prefect timing to see the beauty of this beach even the weather was cloudy and rainy.
Very nice beach. Has a Carpark and a look out. When your walking towards the beach you can either go straight to the look out or head right to go down the beach. There is minimum shade so bring a tent if you want to chill there for a bit. Enjoy the relaxation.

Lovely stroll for bird lovers. We went on a Sunday and it was quiet with only a few other people on the trail. Came when the geese had their babies and they're so cute and fluffy. Also were able to see wallabies lounging along the trail. We brought our binoculars and very glad we did. It's an easy trail 15 mins to the bird viewing platforms from the car park.
Great little trail will be better when lake fills for the local wildlife and 🐦 watching.
Great spot if your into bird watching, I went on the 2nd December early morning and saw plenty of Swamp Wallabies, Cape Barren Geese, Swans and plenty of ducks along the boardwalk you will see lots of burrows made by the Shearwater birds but on this occasion I didn't see any. Its worth a look if you like birds.
Awesome is not good enough to describe this place. Keeping silent when you're going into the truthful wildlife places. Hope this peaceful place can keep it forever and ever.
Discreet and tranquil. And it's free. It's not a big trail. It's quite small actually but it's nice. Would be nice to go with a loved one.
Beautiful area that is easy to access... Wheelchair accessible footpaths.... Lots of wildlife... A haven for birds and ideal for bird watchers and those of us who just want to enjoy wildlife... Wonderful birds of prey too.
It is an interesting and easy to reach place where you can find many water birds and wallabies. We went to there in the dry season (Feb), so the size of the lake was not that big at that time.
Easy 2km up and back to the waters edge bird viewing huts. We got surrounded by butterflies and dragonflies for the whole walk in. Saw heaps of waterbirds and the islands famous geese whilst two swamp harriers circled above.

Probably one of the most beautiful place on earth. The contrast between the green grass, the ocean and the rocks is breathtaking. I would recommend to come for the sunset to have amazing colors.
One of the beautiful destinations to visit , awesome vista from here. Some wildlife can be seen roaming around the grass area. Dirt roads with plenty of clearance for 2WD cars.
Our visit to Phillip Island almost turned completely negative, but this place was the saving grace. It was beautiful to drive slowly and take in the wide ocean views, the open grassland, and the dramatic sea cliffs. Along the way we spotted Cape Barren geese and even a few kangaroos in the fields. Highly recommended to add this stop and drive along the coastline.
Catches the wind up here! Beautiful views make it all worthwhile though!
A little viewpoint with a breathtaking view.
Absolutely stunning place. Perfect for photos, for sitting and watching the view. Definitely great for bird watchers. Only thing which could be better is having a picnic area, seating of some kind to eat there. 😋 was reasonably busy at the time i was there. But still was able to take beautiful pictures.
Beautiful scenic spot overlooking the ocean, a bit breezy so bring a jacket, but it’s absolutely worth it.
2025/10 Penguin Parade – General Viewing The Penguin Parade is one of the most famous attractions on Phillip Island, where visitors can watch little penguins return from the sea to their burrows at sunset. The General Viewing area offers a fantastic view from the seating stands and boardwalks along the beach, allowing visitors to see the penguins up close as they waddle ashore in groups. This experience combines wildlife observation and conservation, as the parade takes place in a protected natural environment managed by Phillip Island Nature Parks. Rangers are on-site to provide information and ensure the penguins’ safety, making it an unforgettable and educational experience for all ages.

Great Way to See Wildlife before sunset 🌅 Penguin’s 🐧 Wallabies 🦘 Bush Birds 🐦 🦢 🦅 Aquinas , & much more … A Must Do Before Penguin 🐧 Parade 👌🎩 ✅💚🙏👍
Breath taking views Highly recommended walk from Nobbies to Pinguine Parade. Only 4 km.
Excellent view of real ocean. One of the best place to explore natural wildlife on the go. Penguins, birds, snake and what not in their natural habitats. Well maintained walk way to keep you on track with safety. Must explore for breth taking views of nature.
Beautiful lookout. Very scenic views. There is a centre which has some amazing ocean views if you want to sit and have a coffee or snack. We also saw small cute penguin homes (not sure what its called exactly) on the lookout.
What stunning views await on Phillip Island! It’s truly a mesmerising place where you can watch penguins coming out of the water at night. There are many wild animals here, and the beauty of this place is simply indescribable. However, closer to evening, where spots are considered free and available 24/7, you will be kicked out! This is because the Penguin Parade Visitor Centre has opened a paid viewing platform for the penguins. You will be ushered away from all viewing areas, and all roads through residential areas will be blocked. The Penguin Parade Visitor Centre might claim that tickets are available, but when you arrive, you will be turned away! So, it’s best to book tickets well in advance. Flash photography is not allowed, and the penguins tend to come out and climb the hill where the free viewing areas are located. P.s. I gave 1 star not to this amazing place, but to the Penguin Parade Visitor Centre!!! Because they kick people out from all the free viewing areas!
It's a great spot for nature lovers and photographers because you can see the coastline from up high. Whether you're watching the sunset or just enjoying the ocean view, it's a beautiful place to visit. Plus, it's easy to get to and has nearby facilities, making it perfect for a day out on Phillip Island.
You will probably able so see single penguins. Actually is 10 mins before penguin rush hour closing time. Security can see you on camera. If you try to hide, you will probably be fined around 400 $. Anyway, the security staff was really friendly and nice even they could not get us the permisson to stay. Better get tickets. For us, it was sold out that day, so we just had bad luck :)
Amazingly beautiful 🤩
