Just a quick stop for fun. Lots of Oz souvenirs, cafe etc. Note no public toilets, only for paying customers. But good photo ops of all the big things we have over Australia.
The souvenirs shop inside the Giant Koala was closed when I passed by it after 4pm during my road trip from Adelaide to Melbourne in Easter holiday. The Giant Koala situated at Dadswell Bridge between Stawell and Horsham, and it is one of Australia’s iconic “Big things”. If they are open when you are driving along the Western Highway, you may take a break and stop for a snack or meal at the restaurant next to the Koala, or buy souvenirs and gifts inside the Koala. The Koala looked a bit weird and I just wanted to ask the designer why the Koala looked quite unhappy and for what reason the designer put some hairs inside the Koala's ears?😳 The Koala sculpture was erected in 1988, 37 years ago, so I am unsure if the designer can still answer my queries.
The Giant Koala shifts with the sky — brooding beneath storm clouds, gentle in the morning sun. Australia’s biggest koala and one of the nation’s beloved “Big Things,” it has weathered years of bushfires, droughts, floods, and the pandemic, standing as a quiet symbol of resilience on the road to the Grampians. Inside, the café and souvenir shop run by Pat and Doug for over a decade carry an old charm that feels like stepping back in time. The old zoo may be gone, but the spirit of the place remains. Pause for a coffee, take home a plush toy or keepsake, and share a photo with this Aussie icon. Support it, so the Giant Koala’s many moods can be seen by generations to come.
A gangsta in full costume was dancing in front of The Giant Koala when we arrived. He look like a serious G so we decided to let him finish dancing and I think they were shooting a music video because everywhere he danced, his camera-woman would follow. After 25 minutes my daughter got restless and just wanted to take her photo in front of The Giant Koala and go home because The Giant Koala was making her feel uncomfortable. G had plenty of energy because we waited a further 15 minutes for him to stop his hippity hop dance. It was captivating and irritating at the same time. Watching it was like staring into a campfire late at night when you feel sleepy and it’s drawing you in. So much so did we both feel it that my daughter suggested he was actually a wizard of sorts that was doing spells instead of dancing. After he finished, we shook off our campfire daze and approached The Giant Koala and asked it permission for a quick photo. Its eyes proceeded to pour out of its head like sand so maybe he was a wizard.
If your interested in the Big Stuff then this Koala is for you. A quick attraction to look at and have a rest.
Found this exciting Koala while driving on the highway. Very unique and has a restaurant next to it.
If you love kitschy big roadside attractions, then the Giant Koala is for you. It is the ugliest koala ever, but that's what's fun about it.
Be sure to stop at the Cafe for a feed when you’re passing through, great friendly staff! Great tourist location!

Easy walk from the parking area, there was no water in the river but would be amazing when it rains. When you reach closer to the falls it get more green and enjoyable. We only has trickle of water but was great easy walk.
Lovely to get out in nature, but for an hour round trip, the falls was quite underwhelming. It’s a 15 minute drive off the highway, and then a 20 min walk to get there. Beautiful grampians surrounds though, and the drive there was lovely.
Very unique waterfall, haven't seen anything quite like it. Recommend visiting when it has recently rained otherwise the walk isn't really worth it as other reviews have pointed out. It had rained overnight so we had a beautiful view! It's tall and thin, the spray has provided the perfect environment for mosses and ferns to grow in abundance around it. There's a tiny pool at the bottom and a small stream running from it. It's a very boring and flatish walk to it, I ended up running to speed it up and make it interesting. From the falls there's a steeper hike which I didn't do, but would like to next time. Very easy walk and hike, and a beautiful reward at the end of it. Visited mid October 2025 and had the beautiful flowers blooming!
Simple walk of approx 1.3 km till the end, after that another 100 m climbing up. I was really scared on one patch where there was space of just one foot at a time. What follows is simple and peaceful water falls, one can sit for hours there and not get bored. I would definitely suggest this place if you are visiting Grampians
After a lot of rain this fall is at its best. Walk in is about 1.4km an is not to difficult. Great wildflowers around as well. I have also revisited 4 days later and Falls much smaller but still worth the walk and then provided a photo during dryer period.
Beautiful walk to the waterfall (2.8km return) there is the option for an extra walk but it is up steep rocks. Beautiful views
Loved it... a pretty easy walk with a bit of rock scrambling at the end near the waterfall... better than I imagined it to be... would love to come back and add on the second part of the walk to make it a circuit... but will need to come back with a plan, hiking shoes and water! Def recommend coming to see these little falls anyway, they're beautiful!
Absolutely loved the walk to the falls, such pretty scenery and the sound of the water was tranquil. It was raining slightly which made it even more of an adventure. Arriving at the base we were meet by an awesome flowing waterfall. Cave to sit in and take in the serenity.
