A very interesting arid climate botanic gardens featuring Australian plants. The garden is both informative and beautiful with an onsite art gallery featuring original watercolours by Dorothy Gordon, wife of the founder Dave Gordon. Camping options available with powered sites, showers and toilets in a bush setting. Ideal for bike riding to explore the gardens and many trails and paths. Cottage and shearer quarters also available.
A beautiful camping stay in these arid botanical gardens. Fire going, birds, rare plants, peace and quiet. And jeff the caretaker is an absolute gem.
Absolutely fantastic! Some of the original gardens haven’t been maintained very well, and there is weeds, other invasive species and barbed wire everywhere. But the natural landscape definitely makes up for it! Plenty of lace monitors, various kangaroos and wallabies and lots of gorgeous and colourful songbirds! Dancing brolgas on the lake entering the gardens was the absolute highlight however for me!!!
Absolutely beautiful. It's a little oasis in the middle of nothing. Beautiful views, gorgeous big lake, amenities and grounds are well kept. It's a must do if your nearby.
Loved it! Walks are clear, plants labelled, information pamphlets available. Caretaker may appear, various souvenirs available. $5 per person for gardens and gallery. Use the honesty box if no one around. Picnic areas and toilets. Bit dry at the moment and grevillea walk lacking flowers.
great place to have a hunting trip. But too many flies😢
Wonderful for camping and a quiet bush get away or a few days
You’d need more than a day to see it all and take some of the walks. Very interesting space with a well informed and very friendly Caretaker. Will be back in late August /September when most flowers will be in bloom.
