Great white view. Tables are available for a short picnic if hungry.
A good view of Lake Lefroy and the local town. There are tables if you bring your own picnic, but no other facilities to speak of. A walking trail to get a better look at the salt lake as well.
Spectacular view over both the colourful salt lakes and the Western Australian woodland. Definitely worth a visit if passing through. Parking available at the lookout, with a short walk along a good quality unsealed path to a better viewing point. 1.4km loop walk also available. Tables under shelter available at the carpark.
The Kambalda area isn't famous for its sightseeing, but the Red Hill lookout, and the walking track around it, give a great view of the salt lake, and the area surrounding it. The old mine site on top was the area's 1st mine, and with the rock types continuing from the hill to be mined under the lake, it is reported that gold containing quartz is reported to still be able to be found on the surface, often not far from the walking track.
Great photo opportunity. Kambalda itself is very uninviting. Shopping plaza is empty. Empty stores and shops everywhere. Kambalda East & West. Nickel mining is all there is.
I have never seen salt flats that stretched as far as the eye can see. This was such a grand view of Lake Lefroy. The stark contrast of red soil versus bright white salt. To be further amazed, I was told that there is a working gold mine on the lake.
Its another lookout. Limited facilities, some shaded areas and a walk without much information. There are information plates, but they have long faded and become unreadable. Some impressive views of the salt flats
Great views over the townships of Kambalda and Lake Lefroy. We arrived just before a huge thunderstorm, so the colours and textures of the scene were amazing.
