Spectacular place to visit. Spent a good afternoon exploring in the heat and the shade. It was exciting to see the excavation. I visited the bathhouse and public latrines area. The main street was exciting as well. I didn't climb the hill and focused my time in the town.
I've been to Beit She'an three different times on three different trips to Israel, usually in the late afternoon. It was very interesting, especially from the top of the hill, but also very hot, even with the strong wind that always seems to be blowing. The park is bigger than it looks so I would recommend carrying lots of water, more than you think you would normally need. The last time I was there they had installed beautiful stainless steel cold water drinking fountains in a few spots which I thought was just amazing.
Extraordinary Roman town, with middle east largest theater. If you come during the summer, bring plenty water, this place is hoter than Kuwait. Plan no less than 3 hrs to see most of the site, bring a hat beside water, there are water coolers on site at the entrance mainly
Nice spot to see some ancient history! It was great to be able to see what a city would have looked like. If you do stop in be sure to check out the Egyptian ruins at the top of the hill overlooking the entire city. Lots of remains of ancient ruins like the colosseum, public sanitary, the theater, the city etc, etc. The architecture is amazing and what’s left of the buildings tell an amazing story about its greatness. Extremely good Roman archeological site….for its shape and all well preserved ruins (many mosaics, good theater,….) it is absolutely at the level of Rome forums
Beit She'an's history spans millennia, beginning in the Chalcolithic period and featuring over 20 layers of settlement on its ancient tell. It was a significant site for the Canaanites, Egyptians, Israelites, Philistines (where King Saul's body was displayed), and Hellenistic Greeks, who renamed it Scythopolis. The city flourished under the Romans and Byzantines as a provincial capital but declined after a devastating earthquake in 749 AD, leaving behind extensive ruins of its Roman past. The work done here is first class, the ancient columns has been stood up again and the amphitheatre has been rebuilt. The explanation signage is excellent
Now this place was it! Back in the day!!! Theres a latrine with marble seats for your 🍑 and marble floor for your feet! It's very clear it was a hot spot for trade and for entertainment!!! Unlike the town on the hill right next to it....the short hike up is completely worth the view! Go here if in Israel!
Stunning remains of over 20 layers of civilization. Most notable are the recent Roman ruins. One can picture chariots heading up and down the main street. The 7000 seat theater is mostly standing and the original public bathrooms are nearby, what a gas! There is an entrance plaza, a large bathhouse, streets, shops, a bridge, a ritual compound and more. An earthquake in 749 shook the Roman temple and the huge columns fell. They still lay there and it's hard to imagine that this is all real and not replicas. Amazing experience.
Caesarea Philippi was a Roman and we're pagan ceremonies to the god pan were performed. Jesus visited it this site , it has become an important Christian pilgrimage destination. And where Jesus states: I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

Great place for swimming. Lots of fun to be had here as the water is comfortable year round. The day was comfortable warm and the water had the right temperature. And the colour of the water I found spectacular. Fantastic mountain retreat with crystal clear freshwater and an amazing back massaging waterfall. The place has a large pool suitable for swimming. It has numerous colored fishes. The open space is of grassland and a suitable place to spend time. The reflection of trees in the water is breathtaking. They have facilities like water supply, place to make BBQ, sitting benches, parking and washroom with dress changing space. Wow huge place lots of parking and space. The water is amazing. This is a must to go place in Israel🥰🥰🥰🇮🇱
Great with kids, mainly self swimming kids. A good thing would be to bring non slipping water shoes. There are verity of pools, and shades to sit next to them. The lifeguards talk too much and too loud unfortunately. My kids 6,9 really enjoyed it!
Beautiful hidden gem. Wonderful place for families and groups to spend the whole day. Free “dr Fish Spa” at many of the water entrance areas. Various pools for different swimming abilities. Will be packed in July and August but later September onwards was perfect!
We went midweek in May and again early June. Not crowded, the water is comfortably warm, crystal clear, an amazing shade of blue. The grounds are well kept, plenty of shade available. There's even a section where no bbq's are allowed, which is quite refreshing. Just about as close to paradise as you can get. Take plenty of water, swimming gear and sandwiches or buy at the shop.
I recently visited Gan Hashlosha and had a fantastic experience! The natural beauty of the park is truly mesmerizing, with its crystal-clear pools and lush green surroundings. It's a perfect spot for families and nature enthusiasts. The facilities were well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed a relaxing day here, picnicking by the water and exploring the gentle streams. If you're looking for a serene escape from the city, Gan Hashlosha is definitely a must-visit destination. Highly recommended!
Sheer magnificence. Our children’s favourite spot in Israel. We had to go back twice because they couldn’t get enough. Go when it’s warm enough to swim. No way you could ever be disappointed.
One of the best water holes in all of Israel! It would be wise to bring water shoes, sun screen, and of course, a lot of liquids. Be sure to keep an eye out for the small fishes in the pools. They like to nibble.
It is unbelievable, a place like this, when the weather is so hot! Entrance is approximately 13€ and you can stay all day long. There are tables to eat and palm trees 🌴 for shade! There is a center to make showers ,to change clothes and toilets too.

National park featuring ruins of a large crusader fortress & sweeping views of the Jordan valley.
Slide 1 of 8
I told Deb we were going to Jordan Star National Park for our next stop on our Israel tour, which sounds lovely and it was – the Crusader castle of Belvoir – how cunning is that?! When we turned off the main road we didn’t even see the castle on the hills above and it was a 6km drive over a steadily worsening road to reach the summit with the castle. We parked in the huge car park along with 4 cars belonging to the staff – we were the only visitors! The guy in the ticket office was really helpful and we started our walk to the castle. Although a lot smaller than the Islamic Nimrod Fortress we saw yesterday, Belvoir was far sturdier with solid walls, a massive rock cut moat and concentric layers of walls. Science at its best. This castle was also a solid military structure, no expense was wasted on any decoration and the black rock made it look even more squat and dense. Although in a pretty much impregnable position I’d have thought its isolation was also a weakness – if they spotted an Arab raiding party in the valley below it would have been long gone by the time they got there. The castle had a lot of modern touches as it was owned by the Hospitallers – there were facilities for bathing and washing as well as proper latrines which didn’t usually feature in European castle (or even house!) design in this period. There were lots of information boards showing what the castle looked like before being dismantled after the garrison surrendered following an eighteen month siege. The route ended with us going down steps into the moat to come out via a sally port – another brilliant bit of design that was almost invisible even though we knew where it was. We walked along the moat then up the other side and across the modern bridge. Attached to the fortress is a rare plant nursery which would have been great to visit in spring but only had crocus in flower now.
Kokhav HaYarden is one of the most beautiful places in Israel. The only concentric Crusader castle in Israel from the first Jerusalem Kingdom preserved by Salah-ad-Din after an 18-month long siege of 1189 but later destroyed by the ruler of Damascus to prevent Crusaders' return.
Fantastic point of view to the Jorden valley. the landscape absolutely amazing and you can see the Israeli side and part of the Gilead mountains where is Jorden. perfect place to come for a coffee or just to chill. It’s very important to keep the place clean. Highly recommend !
A picturesque road to the park and no less beautiful views from Belvoir Castle. A small park, you can go around it in an hour - an hour and a half. In spring, everything is green and many bright pink flowers grow. You can grab a thermos with tea or coffee and rest on the stones of the fortress. There are places for a picnic. It is better to visit in winter or spring, while it is not too hot... The park has an exhibition of works by the Israeli sculptor Yigal Tumarkin.
Brilliant for all ages! I came with my 4 year old son. He loved the place! There are many places to go to, stairs to climb, tunnels, rooms, corridors, really fun time! There is a bridge over the moat and you can go down into the moat itself. There are signs in Hebrew and English everywhere. There is also absolutely stunning view, with a spot that has maps explaining what you see in this view. And there is also an outdoor exhibition of metal statues, which my 4 year old son also really liked and if you are an art lover I'm sure you will too. The thing that really stood out and made it so much more fun was that you can get a navigation game where you get a map with 13 spots on it, you find a word in each spot and once you fill all the words you can get into a lottery where the prize is a yearly subscription to all sites of the RATAG - which is very nice. But the prize doesn't matter, the navigation brings you to all the places in a very fun way and really adds to the enjoyment. I must say that I've been to many of RATAG's parks but this one was a really awesome surprise. Just by looking at the photos and videos online doesn't do justice to how cool this place is. AND!! you can come in the afternoon, see the place during sunlight, do a small picnic on the wooden tables at the entry, and once the sun goes down the place lights up with many magnificent lights, which really add to the atmosphere. And we also saw a huge beehive on the ceiling of what was the dining room of the castle, which was really cool. Never saw a beehive before.
Belvoir, or Kohav Hayarden. Belvoir from the French Bel-Voir: Beautiful View. Probably the most impressive Fortress in Israel. Nimrod Fortress or Akko Citadel are impressive of course, Yehi'am as well, although a little less, and Chateau Pelerin is bigger but you can't access it. So Belvoir is really the place to be. Look at the pictures and you'll understand why. If you like old stones, and if the middle ages make you dream and imagine heroic stories (and also if not) I believe this is one oh the best places to visit in Israel. And as a bonus, breathtaking views on the Jordan River Valley. Just do it!
It was a nice lookout, but not much else. The fort is filled with bees. We went on a really hot day, so the view and a quick walk through the fortress was enough.
A very nice national park, with an ancient fortress, a sculpture garden and a short trail. The park operators organize fun activities for the entire family, such as building swords and shields, and collecting clues around the fortress. It is windy there in the spring. Highly recommended!

Excellent place to stay with children! It is an eden for them. The water temperature is rather refreshing even during hot Israel summer. The water is not so deep, so for an adult almost impossible to swim. I was there on Saturday and there still were free places to sit. Unbelievable.
We were there one night before the holiday. The park was full of tents, cars and people. Positive moments: - a lot of trees and shadow - enough tables for picnic - enough place for parking - Nice pools, especially in the morning, when the water is really clean Negative: - the dirtiest toilets and showers I've ever seen in parks. There was no serious cleaning for 24 hours. Not enough toilets and showers - the biggest problem, understanding type of the park! - no locations with drinking water! If you need it - buy it in the store. Abnormal situation for israel! - too hard to find level ground for the tent. 80% of the park inclined towards the pools. - noisy service by cleaning garbage tins. - It looks like the capacity limit is too high. Lack of empty places in the evening.
A vast park , located in the hottest area in Israel (I think...). There are plenty of lown and grass to sit and camp on. The main attraction are cold and refreshing spring water pools. There are lots of facilities for camping such as toilets, showers, tents for rent, mattress for rent and a shop with fresh food. Lots of parking and the price is moderate. I had a nice time with the kids.
3 great big pools/ponds to bathe in (30 cm, 40-60 cm and 60-100 cm deep approx.) the kids pool has slides in them and the medium one has a small zip line. Great place for a day with the family or camping for a few days. Nice convince store/snack bar with food and supplies. Can get crowded during the season, you can rent a refrigerator upon arrival.
This place is very good for family camping. The pools are very cool/cold. It will cool you down in the hot mid day times. The only bad thing here is the bothering announcements of the kiosk. Calling about5 times about closing. And waking everyone up in the morning, announcing it’s “open”
Camping in Israel is not like in the movies. It’s hot. No woods. No real campfires or S’mores or fishing. That’s why it’s important to camp near water. Ganei Chuga offers a great camp ground for camping because it’s beautifully situated near pools of fresh water. The area is especially hot geographically so you spend the entire day in the water cooling off. Perfect for children. Especially toddlers as one of the pools is super shallow with slides for them. Bathrooms and grounds were reasonably clean. The prices are in my opinion too high. They are priced as if this is a water park which it’s not.
A very nice area for camping. We stayed one night. the place is sort of clean, and the maintenance guys who work there tries to keep it up. Bathrooms are partly clean but there were to many people that time we stayed.
Ganeh hugah, a big water park opens from 9 till 17. The ticket costs 46 The swimming pools close at 16:00. A huge place for sitting with tables. also, you can be camping there a camping area and tents for renting, you can bring your tents.
