Had a truly divine experience at Jagannath Temple, Puri. Thanks to the Padhna Pujari, I was able to skip the long queue and received an excellent Pada/Pandha darshan. I could stand and witness Lord Jagannath for almost 3 minutes, which felt unbelievable and spiritually overwhelming -something that would have been impossible otherwise. A blessed experience I’ll always cherish. 🙏✨ No electronics items allowed, it should be submitted in the counter available at free of cost. Car parking available around 500-600 meters away from the temple.

What an amazing architecture of Kalinga dynasty. The moment you enter the temple serenity, you can feel the peace and divine happiness. It's one of the four char dham pilgrimage sites. You can see people from all over the country and worldwide bowing down to Lord Jagannatha with the same trust and devotion. The temple is neatly maintained. You can't take any leather items not phone inside the temple as it's strictly prohibited. Before even you enter the temple on your right hand there is a place where you can keep your footware and belongings including phone at a very nominal fees. Make sure you carry small kids and keep them safe with you as you can experience a little rush while entering the temple. You can have the famous Mahaprasad which is served again at a nominal price at the exit of the temple premises. You should sit on the floor and eat the mahaprasad. There are many paid parking space near by temple, if confused ask any rickshaw guy or local they will guide you there till parking space. Overall a great and divine experience.

This is very powerfull and holy temple with great history. We had a very good darshan of Lord Jagannath. There are numerous temples gods and goddesses in the premises. We also saw the Flag changing ceremony between 4-5 PM which is a must watch, the pandits carry flags to the top of the temple and replace old flag with new ones every day.

Golden Beach is a very beautiful beach and a very clean beach. You need an entry ticket to enter it.Earlier its tickets used to be a little cheaper. Now its tickets have become expensive. But after going inside you will feel completely forbidden because it has been maintained very well. You will find a lot of peace here because very few people come here. In the meantime, you will get a lot of peace by going here.

My 1st beach visit in my didn't disappointed me. The best experience I had in my life at Puri Beach. It's very well maintained (very clean) and best view for sunset. Pleasant fresh air blowing around. The sounds of the waves are just amazing 🤩

A bit overcrowded, I suggest visiting the BLUE FLAG BEACH , which is a paid beach with minimal entry fees bit wayy better than the golden beach….but the overall experience is good beautiful views and amazing people

It was good to be here with with my school friends. The beach was pretty clean compared to other places. The tide in Puri beaches is always awesome to enjoy. There was a incident of drowning nearby but the response of the life guards was superb, they were onto the couple of guys, may be in 15-20 seconds and both of them were rescued. Kudos to them.

It's an architectural marvel. Saw something I learned in my social science textbooks in person. Had a big lawn around the structure. The designs are intricate. There is a parking space outside. Tickets cost Rs 40 per head. Guide and photography facility available. Photographers charge Rs 130 per photo. Be mindful of saying the exact number of photos you require, otherwise the photographer may print all the photos he has taken. Best time to go is in the morning. It opens at 6 am. Rush will be less and sun will not be burning down on your heads.

I visited the Konark Sun Temple on 20th November, and it was one of the most fascinating historical experiences I’ve ever had. The moment you arrive, the grand architectural style and intricate stone carvings make you feel like you’re standing in front of a living masterpiece from India’s ancient past. The Sun Temple, built in the 13th century by King Narasimhadeva I, is designed in the shape of a gigantic chariot dedicated to Lord Surya (the Sun God). The temple once had 12 massive stone wheels on each side, representing the chariot wheels, and was pulled by seven horses symbolizing the days of the week. Even today, the detailed carvings on the wheels, walls, and sculptures show an extraordinary level of craftsmanship. Walking around the temple complex, I could see how every corner tells a story — from depictions of daily life and musicians to beautifully carved figures that highlight the rich Kalinga architectural style. The scale and precision of the artwork are incredible and look even more spectacular when captured on video. The site is very well-maintained, and the pathways are smooth for walking. There’s also a museum nearby where you can understand more about the temple’s history, collapsed structures, and restored parts. Overall, my visit on 20th November was truly memorable. The atmosphere is peaceful, the history is powerful, and the temple itself is a visual treasure — perfect for photos and video content. It was a wonderful experience visiting the Sun Temple. The best time to come here is from November to February, as summers can be extremely hot. You can rent an umbrella outside, which is useful since most of the area is open. Highly recommended

The iconic 24 elaborately carved wheels of the stone chariot and the majestic seven horses seemed even more impressive in person than in photographs. The temple complex was well maintained, with clean surroundings and proper facilities for tourists. The peaceful ambience allowed us to absorb the beauty of the place at our own pace. Beautiful ruins of the temple which has a great history. Recommend people visiting to take help of a certified guide to know the intricacies of the sculptures and the inscriptions. The newly built museum and the AV of about 10 minutes is very good and a must visit. Highly recommend to buy your tickets online as it was busy with long lines with only a single counter operating.

Great historical and scientific temple i ever seen. Must take a guide to know the information and history in detail. Big campus. Neat and clean. Ticket is Rs-40 per head , it's worth. U will get cold water filters in the area. Great work on stones. Definately feel proud to be hindu after visiting this ancient temple.

The thing I wud like to mention is tht the bathrooms were not clean at all, we had to ask them to get it cleaned. We had taken a room with balcony towards the road, the windows were not closing once hence the sound was pretty much loud & disturbing all thru the night with people and vehchile passing by, the food in their restaurant was nice(the thalis) rest all never tried the overall experience was not tht good. I wouldn't recommend it to my relatives or friends.

Foul smell comes in the room all the time. Furnitures very dirty. Non ac room charged ₹1300/- per day during rath yatra. Restaurant does not serve freshly cooked food and remains closed even during peak time. No proper room service. Extremely bad experience. Counting my hours for my last day in puri because to leave this hotel. Will never recommend this hotel to anyone.

My stay in Konark Hotel in Puri in June, 2024 was most horrible. Baby cockroaches were seen walking on the beds thus making our stay in the room most unpleasant. The furniture was not well-maintained. The caretaker and the sweeper did their work stereotypically. The management was silent on the issue of hygiene.

Something spooky in this hotel....i can't sleep at night ... wardrobe suddenly opened up with sound and some foul smell coming from balcony at mid night

We were in room no 206 which is a four bedded room. It was quite big. The housekeeping staff were quite prompt. Everyday mopping of floors were done. Washrooms were cleaned on every 3rd day. Bed linens were changed on every 3rd day. Room no 209 was a double bed room , very gloomy. The keep up of hotel needs to be done. Reception is quite lazy. Kitchen is outsourced , hence quality of food and service is poor. Billing of food were either less or more. We had to keenly check it every day. Would not want to stay next time.

This beach is also called Ramachandi Beach. It is around 1 km from Chandrabhaga Beach on same shore line. The river Kusabhadra meets bay of Bengal here. This beach is on the front of Lotus Resort, which is very popular for small parties and night stays (the food was absolutely delicious for a delhite like me). This is absolutely beautiful place and if you are looking to relax your mind and body or click some great looking pictures with boating activities in background, I recommend this place. However, there are few things which must be kept in mind before coming to this beach : 1. Entering into waters is not allowed because here the water current is very strong (unlike other beaches where entering water is allowed ). 2. This place is far better suited for family, group and couples because since entering water is not allowed, people involved in consumption prefer the nearby Chandrabhaga beach. 3. You are not allowed to stand on the ridge of sand and sea to preserve the coastal line from ocean. What else can you do? You can have food in the Lotus resort which has standard prices and value for money food. You can take take a drive on marine drive. You can walk book a nightstay in lotus resort (which is a bit expensive ) You can visit Konark Sun Temple which is around 5 kms from here. It was great. We really spotted a lot of things. A spotter deer fawn, 2 huge adult lamgoors and infinity number of crabs in the island. Even heard from the rescuers that Olive Ridley Turtles comes here at night to lay eggs. The beach is very peaceful and less crowded. There is also a newly made watch tower out there. Ticket Price is 30 per person and 50 for car. There is also a beautiful nature camp inside it whose price starts around 5000 per day for 2 person with 4 meals each. Added photos check them out.

The sea beach is good, very neat and clean due to less tourist visit. It's an isolated beach. One can not go to beach directly by own vehicle. You have to park the vehicle in parking, then buy ticket and go with their electric Safari. Waiting time for safari is sometimes less , sometimes high. Depends upon the number of tourists. During return from beach they will keep you waiting for safari till 7-8 people come. They should allow cars/bikes up to 15-20.

Balukhand Wildlife Sanctuary – Best for a Quiet Beach, Not for Wildlife Spotting Balukhand Wildlife Sanctuary is located along the Konark–Puri Marine Drive. I’ve visited this place multiple times, in almost all seasons. Although the information boards mention various animals like hyenas, jackals, deer, and rabbits, in all my visits, I’ve only spotted deer — and just once, a rabbit, during a night stay at Nuanai Nature Camp, which is located within the sanctuary. For me, the main attraction here is the secluded and peaceful beach, which remains relatively unexplored and crowd-free — perfect for a quiet escape. I wouldn’t recommend this place for those who have high expectations of wildlife sightings, as animal visibility is very limited. Entry Fee:- Rs 40 per person.

I visited the beach here. The path to beach goes through a forest. It is a short root of 2.5 km. The drive to the beach is quite beautiful and scenic. The beach is not at all crowded. Waves are not too high. Mostly gues in Toshali Sand resort visit this beach. Infact the resort management tells that its their private beach. They provide a cab to and from the beach. We had really good time here. We visited this place during the 2nd week of March. It was quite sunny and a bit hot but perfect for taking a dip in sea.

Unforgettable experience . The morning sunrise , was most beautiful , and the catching moment over there. We went from bbsr and we reached there at 5 am morning . Reach by 5 , then u can see the beauty of our nature , the colour of the sky , all was unimaginable. Nothing more in the beach. chandrabhaga beach has always the high tide , so I recommend u to be careful while u go inside water and enjoy there . Don't think it is same as Puri . We can't explain u why , but it is . I will like to mention . Do u like crab ? Sand colour crab ... Not that we get in the market . That kind of crab can be seen if u go far ahead from the crowd . Walk along the bank of the sea , and go a distance , then u can see the crab crawling on the sand .

Dedicated to Lord Krishna (Gopinath) and Radha, it’s known for its captivating stone idol of Krishna and the touching legend of divine witnessucker—Sakshi Gopal—a divine testimony of love and truth. Shree Sakhi Gopal temple is a Mandatory visit after your jagannath ji darshan. However, please be careful of priests, they are just scammers and money minded people, ruining the entire significance of being a pujari and the rich history of the temple. Avoid them at all costs. They will lure you into making donations by reciting mantras and forcing you to do some sort of pujas.

LOOTING BY PANDITS - CAREFUL I recently been to Sakhi Gopal Temple, Odisha. As a visitor and true devotee from Kerala, I went with all belief and faith to get a peaceful darshan. My experience was really disappointing. One Pandit (like person) just followed us explaining where to wash your feet, hand, face, and kind of forced me in donating to the temple's trust. Later, when we were about to enter the temple, another pandit (looks like he is the main guy) forced us to buy Tulsi garland mala, and mandatorily did some pooja / some chanting and kind of forced us (the way they are trapping you psychologically is really appreciated) to donate again "as cash without any receipt" . Like this many Pandits did this and they kind of looted me around 7500/-. All these are paid by me getting into their emotional / spiritual trap. Even though I am a devotee, I have decided that I will never come here again, and wanted to spread this unacceptable way of looting in all possible way. I am a decent traveller who travelled in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra, Delhi, Rajasthan, Utharakhand and many more states. This is my first time negative experience. Similarly, I will complain about this in their website , which will hopefully help them to eliminate such activities by the Pandits and allow a peaceful visit to all devotees.

We visited the temple for our nephew’s mundan ceremony, and after darshan we felt truly happy and blessed. The idols of Radha and Krishna are very attractive and give so much peace. However, one thing to keep in mind is that the temple priests seem a bit money-minded, often asking for money from visitors. Thankfully, since I was accompanied by a local person, I was able to avoid spending extra. So, do be cautious about that part. Apart from this, everything else about the temple and the experience was good.

Good Temple . One must visit this temple during non, festival days, otherwise one will face difficulties due to a lot of crowds. The main importance is during the Rath Yatra Festival . During this period Mahaprabhu Jagannath Balabhadra Subhadra stays here till Bahuda Yatra.

Very calming and a beautiful etmple. The temple remains closed all the year around, it is only during the Ratha Ytra time that the temple is open for the general public. Rest of the days the door is closed, you will be able to offer your prayers from outside the main door.

This property is near the sea beach, not a big sea view hotel . All over a great experience 👍 but we had to face some issues like food availability . Food is not available every time. Just like if you want to lunch you must have to say one day before, if you want to do dinner you have to say in the morning this is a totally horrible experience. We stayed for 2 days here. On the first day we did not get any food from the hotel. Cause we have to order 1 day before 😂 we have ordered some food for last night , food was good 👌

Location of Hotel is Good but service is not good. They don't have dinning place to sit together and have meal. Rate is comparatively high. Bedsheets were not cleaned properly. Just ok. Nothing else.

This property is right near the beach and not on the beach but still you can walk (10 baby steps) to the beach. Now let's talk about the hotel. It is not at all front sea facing hotels even if it says so. It has balconies on the First, Second and Third floor but still you need to twist your neck to the left like as if you are judging someone and wallah you get a piece of sea. The rooms When you book this hotel be very aware. They would show you rooms and say all are the same and you would wonder wow such beautiful rooms and have a peace of mind but no you won't get one. The rooms on the first floor looks like a shady business just took place, the second floor rooms are still okay but the bathroom is like, "ughhh what's that slimy dimy dripping from the roof" it's green and banglai it's called Shaowla. The third floor rooms are still okay and yes they can be taken and also good for you because till the third floor the lift goes. The fourth floor rooms are beautiful. You get a personal roof. Like a balcony on steroids. Take your bed sheets with you and pillow covers too. The food over there is not that much priced it's reasonable and yes it's much better than the food you would get some place else. The food is good here. Chicken, fish. Breakfast is not complementary. Try to have your breakfast at Cafe Cookies (just 2mins walking) The beach It's safe and clean than swargodwar. (Losely spelt as sorgoddar). Try not to get into the sea till chest level of neck level (even if you know swimming) as because the current of the tide is too strong to twist your knees. Good food Local stalls (not the fish fries, please avoid to not get food poisoned) try to find the stalls opposite to Chaitanya murti on Swargodwar where you get corn (boiled with butter or masala) near that you would find the person frying momos. Must try and there you would also find two ladies running a stall where you can have dinner as well. Chapatis, ghoogni, panner and mixed veg. All veg items for non veg don't eat from sea beach stalls or else AIMS/KIMS gonna take your money. Enjoy.

Location wise it is good but finding the property is difficult. Prominent signboard or hoarding is required to be setup on the Marine drive road as well as Subir Sarkar Road to locate the hotel. Rooms are neat, clean, airy and comfortable. Food served is tasty and served with love and right in time (punctual). Service, hospitality is unquestionably great. The entire staff I found with smiling face. The beach is very near and visible from the balcony. We loved the unit as a whole.

We have booked the most expensive room (#402) in this hotel which cost around Rs.3300 per day but the following services we have received 1. Tea is costing Rs.35 but it was just a tea bag inserted in a poor milk. 2. No room cleaning was done, even after asking for the same they put different excuses 3. Bed sheet, pillow cover, towel was not changed on day basis. 4. We have spend 3 nights in this hotel with out kids. Because of some oil mark on bed sheet they are asking Rs.1000 for it at the check out time. Which we denied to pay. So please be careful while booking at this hotel. Money is yours.

The most awful hotel we have ever met for many years travelling around India! Disgusting and rude behaviour or the hotel owner and manager who is always smoking, eating meat, shouting on clients, fighting with personal till 2 am at night! They also have huge electricity problems and even if u pay for ac room, u will not get neither working ac, nor even working fan or a simple light switched on in ur room. Owner is also a great cheater and cheating for money!!!! Be careful! Would never and ever recommend anyone to come into this hotel! Run from them in other direction 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢

The place is affordable and close to the beach but there are more cons than pros. Accessibility with a car is a challenge especially when you need to park for the night. Can be managed though. Drinking water is a give-a-call thing. You can’t get it yourself and the source of it is unknown. We had to keep asking multiple times till they found a boy to run the errand. That too we were provided in an uncovered jug on multiple occasions. We ordered food once and were provided so without any cutlery to even serve out the curry. Rooms aren’t cleaned once you step in. Neither are the sheets replaced. As in any beach location, the rooms can get messy fast. We were there for 4 days so felt filthy by the time we checked out. The intercom isn’t functional though you get to call on a mobile number so wasn’t much of a bother that way. A glass coffee table with sharp corners was a point to be wary of as its easy to injure yourself against it. Overall however most of our time was spent in the surroundings so not bad a stay given the AC did a fantastic job when put to use.

The temple architecture is simple and beautiful,and the surroundings are covered with golden sands, lush trees river & sea which creates a soulful calm place. It's a great place for darshan, Picnic & boating. All type basic amenities are available here for tourists like kitchen items, shops, Toilet, water facilities, parking lot etc. Lastly more development work needed here. It's become too crowded at the peak Picnic time.

Ramachandi Temple is a sacred Hindu shrine, located only about 5 km away from Konark in the Puri district of Odisha. Goddess Chandi is the presiding deity, worshiped at the temple. The shrine is one of the most famous Shakti Pithas of Odisha. Ramachandi Temple is built as per the traditional Odisha style of architecture. It is a north facing temple consisting of two parts - one being Vimana and the other being Jagamohana. In front of the Jagamohana, there is an open roof Mandapa. There is no entry fee to visit the Ramachandi Temple in Puri. The shrine remains open on all days of the week, from 6 am to 6 pm.

On the way from Puri to Koark. Has a mandir and a beach. This mandir is a Shakti Peeth as the Priest told us. Can visit and offer Puja if you are going in that road. In front of the temple, there is a tree, where you can tie a piece of cloth and make a wish. They keep selling the pieces of clothes in the shops near the mandir. The mandir is not very clean. The priests were very helpful.

Small temple very near to the Chandrabhaga beach en route to the Konark Sun Temple. Bhoga (prashad) is available inside the temple. Lots of votive red scarfs and bangles tied to a tree inside the temple compound.

Ramachandi Temple is a quaint temple located on the banks of the Kusabhadra River, near its confluence with the Bay of Bengal. There are two differing beliefs on the the identity of presiding deity. Goddess Ramachandi, the deity of Konark is thought by some to be the presiding deity of this temple, while others think it is the temple of Mayadevi, wife of Surya the Sun God. You can take a short boat ride from the pier below the temple to the mouth of the river where it mingles into the Bay of Bengal. Cost of boat ride is ₹ 1,500 for upto 8 people.

I visited puri for darshana of maa Bimala as it is one of the four adishakti peethas. Once you are out of jagannath ji temple on right there is Bimala devi. There is not much rush in the morning, just pray from outside looking at devi instead of getting in the rush near devi as the pandits do not allow you to pray peacefully if you do not buy their stuff and get their blessing. The devi decorated nicely by afternoon. She is beautiful. Ask me for any questions.

One of the shaktipeeth and it is known for the 'Right thigh' of devi sati had fallen down. Small temple complex and can easily go inside. Behind this temple you can see the beauty of Sea. In evening time you can do boating, have some snacks. One can go for a picnic here too. Some shops are outside the temple for buying things and snacks.

The vimla devi temple is available inside the jagannath temple premises. No entry ticket is required. No need of hiring any pandit as such. The crowd will lead you to vimla devi temple as well as many more temples available inside the premises. Do not forget to tie thread for accomplishing your with after oath to leave some fruit for one year as the initial place of worship of Sri jagannath ji. It is said that after your wish is fulfilled the thread tied before shall be untied.

Foreingers not allowed. Literally. If you are not an Indian you will not be allowed in. I was with an Indian friend who asked multiple temple police if we heard it right the first time. We did. And it's not a case of following the temple entry rules (no belt, no mobile, no shoes) - it's that you're not wanted. I explained that if we said 'no Indians' in a church in Australia there would be big trouble. We won't be coming to Puri again.
