Arunachaleshwarar Temple, one of the sacred Pancha Bhoota Lingas, represents the element of fire (Agni). The temple is grand and showcases remarkable Dravidian architecture. There are free entry and ₹50 special darshan options available. On a regular weekend, the darshan time can take around 2 to 3 hours. Overall, it’s an amazing spiritual experience filled with devotion and divine energy. Om Namah Shivaya.
The Arunachaleshwarar Temple, one of the Pancha Bhoota Lingas, represents the element of fire (Agni). Temple is an incredibly peaceful and spiritually powerful place. Guidelines for pradakshina and also important temples to visit on the way and around Arunachala hill. There are asta linga (Yama, Varuna, Vayu, Kubera, Eeshanya, Nairuthi, Agneya, and Agni) temples one should not miss while doing the pradakshina. A must visit place for all who believe in God. For Girivalam path, Auto facility available for Girivalam. The architecture is magnificent, especially the tall gopurams and detailed carvings. The entire temple complex is spacious and well-organized, with good crowd management even on weekends. The darshan feels very divine, and the pradakshina path around the temple is calming. The temple is clean, and facilities like drinking water and resting areas are maintained well.
Arunachalam (Arunachaleswarar) Temple in Tiruvannamalai is one of the most powerful and spiritually uplifting temples I have ever visited. Dedicated to Lord Shiva in the form of Agni (fire), this ancient temple has a divine atmosphere that cannot be described in words. The moment you enter the temple premises, you feel a sense of peace, devotion, and positivity. The temple architecture is truly magnificent — massive gopurams, beautifully carved pillars, and spacious corridors that reflect centuries of history and devotion. The main sanctum, where Lord Arunachaleswarar resides, radiates an intense spiritual energy. The darshan usually moves smoothly, and the priests perform the rituals with great devotion and discipline. One of the most special experiences here is Girivalam, the sacred walk around the Arunachala hill. Whether done on Pournami or any other day, it gives a deep sense of inner peace and connection with the divine. Cleanliness, crowd management, and facilities have improved a lot in recent years. Drinking water, free meals (annadanam), and resting areas are well maintained. Overall, Arunachalam Temple is not just a place of worship — it is a place where your mind becomes calm and your heart feels lighter. A must-visit spiritual destination at least once in a lifetime. Highly recommended!
Very peaceful and divine place. Arunachaleswarar Temple in Tiruvannamalai is truly powerful — Lord Shiva’s presence can be felt everywhere. The temple is well maintained, clean, and beautifully built. The Girivalam (Giripradakshina) around the holy Arunachala hill is around 14 km — a wonderful spiritual walk filled with devotion and positive energy. Best time is early morning or full moon days. Must visit for anyone who loves spirituality, peace, and nature. Om Namah Shivaya 🙏 #Tiruvannamalai #LordShiva
A night visit to Annamalaiyar Temple, Thiruvannamalai, and walking barefoot around the temple is an experience that feels deeply spiritual and almost otherworldly. Under the night sky, the temple glows with soft lamps and warm golden light, making the ancient gopurams look even more majestic. The cool ground, the gentle breeze, and the quiet rhythm of distant chants create a divine atmosphere that feels both calming and powerful.Walking barefoot at night makes every moment feel more connected. The silence allows the energy of Annamalaiyar, the Agni form of Shiva, to feel stronger and closer. The flickering lamps, the scent of camphor, and the peaceful movement of devotees give the walk a serene, sacred flow. It feels as if the temple itself is alive, guiding each step with its timeless presence.By the end of the walk, there’s a lingering sense of peace, clarity, and divine strength—an experience only a night visit can offer. Note: The temple’s hygiene and maintenance could be improved. The dustbin facilities are limited, and the crowd and security management during peak hours need more attention to ensure a smoother and cleaner experience for devotees.
It's a beautiful temple with gopurams. This temple is in Tamil Nadu located at the foothills of Annamalai hill at Thiruvannamalai. This temple is dedicated to Shiva and Parvathi and it is associated with the element of fire .(Pancha Bhoota). Karthigai Deepam is one of the famous festival held here. The presiding deity of the temple is Annamalaiyar, a manifestation of Shiva . Free entry darsanam take time ,may be two to three hours. Paid Darsan cost 50 rupees .
Visited on week end. Too much crowded. Took around 5 hours to take the darshan. Finding car parking was difficult. Finally could able to park with the help of a auto drive around 800 meters away from Raja gopuram basically it's one of the entrance. Parking fee was Rs 80. I am not sure if this parking was really run by temple authority because it dint look so. Better to take Rs 50 entrance ticket to save some time. I was not aware that there is such facility. After the darshan we can buy sweet pongal and pulihogre for Rs. 10 each. Temple also sells laddus and other items priced Rs. 50 each.
Arulmigu Annamalaiyar (Arunachaleswarar) Temple in Tiruvannamalai is a major South Indian Shiva temple located at the foot of the sacred Arunachala Hill. Built by the early Cholas in the 9th century and expanded by later dynasties, it stands as a grand example of Dravidian architecture with many gopurams, mandapams, shrines, and temple tanks. The temple’s spiritual significance is highlighted in texts like Arunachala Puranam and Tiruppugazh, and Lord Shiva is believed to have manifested here as a self-born lingam under a magizha tree. Many saints, including Ramana Maharshi and Seshadri Swamigal, attained samadhi here. I visited today along with my friend, and the darshan was amazing. We spent nearly an hour in the temple after the darshan, and it filled us with a lot of positive energy. Please note: On Pradosham and auspicious days, the temple becomes highly crowded, and waiting time for darshan can range from 3 to more than 6 hours. Parking is also difficult, and you may have to park far from the temple and walk or take auto. If visiting with senior citizens, plan accordingly. Buying special dharshan ticket for Rs 50/- will help.. To avoid crowds, visit on non-festival days, non-auspicious days, and weekdays.

One of the best places to visit . I am requesting each and every person who is visiting Arunachalam please visit this ashram also. No photos and videos are allowed inside the ashram . But while going to the hilltop we can take but be cautious with the monkey. But one small issue is there if you drop the slippers in the ramana maharshi ashram when you climb the hilltop then You must get down again to take the slippers but if you go from the backside of the ashram then you can climb the temple with the slippers under get back from the other side of the mountain to the temple.
I visited the ashram roughly after 5 years or so. This time I found quite a considerable number of visitors, more so youngsters or families with kids, which was surprising for a weekday after noon. The solitude atmosphere was no longer seen inside the ashram. But it was very noteworthy that despite the presence of so much crowd, there was comparatively very little noise. However, parking has become quite difficult. The area outside the ashram has been totally taken over by auto rickshaws and some of them even blocking the way.
The Sri Ramanasramam in Thiruvanamalai is a globally renowned spiritual center, known for its deep sense of peace and for preserving the legacy of the modern sage, Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi. Spiritual Significance and Atmosphere The Ashram was the home of Sri Ramana Maharshi from 1922 until his passing in 1950, and it is built around the Samadhi shrine of his mother, Alagammal. Path of Self-Inquiry: The ashram is the epicenter for the Maharshi's direct path of Self-Inquiry (asking the fundamental question, "Who Am I?"). His teachings emphasize finding the true, unchanging Self beneath all of life's experiences. Profound Peace and Stillness: Visitors consistently describe the atmosphere as "very calm, peace" and "serene," where "silence and inner reflection take precedence." Many report feeling a sense of stillness and "immense of peace" upon entering. Samadhi Shrine: The main hall houses the Samadhi (resting place) of Sri Ramana Maharshi. Devotees spend hours here in silent meditation, absorbing the tranquil energy and profound spiritual power. Connection to Arunachala: The ashram is intimately connected to the Thiruvanamalai, which Ramana Maharshi taught was a living embodiment of Lord Shiva. The hill looms quietly in the background, reinforcing the spiritual energy of the site. If this was helpful👍🏻Check out YouTube channal PriyaRajDiaries❤️PriyaJayantPJ
Skandashram is a sacred place located on the eastern slope of Arunachala Hill in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu. It's a spiritual retreat and a significant site for devotees of Ramana Maharshi. Key Features: 1. Spiritual significance: Skandashram is where Ramana Maharshi lived and meditated from 1916 to 1922. 2. Cave temple: The ashram has a cave temple dedicated to Skanda (Murugan)
Ramana Ashram at Arunachalam is a sanctuary for anyone seeking inner peace. The environment is quiet, clean, and deeply meditative. The staff and volunteers maintain the place with great care. Spending time in the old meditation hall and listening to chanting was incredibly soothing. One of the most peaceful spiritual experiences I’ve had — highly recommended for soul seekers.
make it point to visit this divine ashram if you are in Thiruvannamalai. we visited in 2009 and not much crowd then. serene atmosphere and good place for meditation
We had an amazing experience to visiting the Ramana Ashramam in Tiruvannamalai, A Unique Divine experience, never felt coming back from that Peaceful Ashram. It was the Best Place for Meditation and devotion, Fresh Air Breathe Environment. We Saw Truthful People and pleasent Environment, & Simplicity Atmosphere they maintained it. We spent several hours at the Ramana Ashram, and the experience has been inexplicably deep and calming. Very interesting to know all about the Spirituality. I loved everything about Sri Ramana Ashram, the indoor temple, and Mantras. One of the best thing about this ashram is peacocks are roaming very freely inside the ashram among the plenty of visitors.
Sri Ramanashramam is one of the most peaceful and spiritually charged places in India—a sanctuary where silence itself feels sacred. The moment you enter the ashram, you are surrounded by a deep sense of calm, as if the very atmosphere is infused with the presence of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi. The ashram is beautifully maintained, with flowering trees, serene meditation spaces, and an ambience that naturally encourages stillness. The Meditation Hall, where devotees sit in quiet contemplation, is especially powerful. Many visitors say that even sitting there for a few minutes brings clarity and inner peace. The daily Veda chanting, the simplicity of the rituals, and the respectful behaviour of devotees from all over the world create an atmosphere of harmony and devotion. The library and bookstore offer a wealth of spiritual literature, including Ramana Maharshi’s teachings on self-inquiry (Atma Vichara). Accommodation and food are simple, clean, and satvik, in line with the ashram’s tradition. The staff is courteous and helpful, making the stay comfortable and spiritually enriching. The proximity to Arunachala Hill adds to the ashram’s sacredness. Many visitors use the ashram as a peaceful base for Girivalam or for personal meditation retreats.

You must be entally and physically prepared to visit here it's bit hard climb the hill but after climbing you will feel ashonished. You can witness the whole city view and temple view. Virupaksha Cave, Tiruvannamalai – A Sacred Hermitage of Silence and Enlightenment 🔹 Historical Background Virupaksha Cave is a small, serene cave located on the slopes of Arunachala Hill in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu. This cave is deeply tied to the spiritual history of the region and is most famously associated with Sri Ramana Maharshi, the revered Indian sage. But long before Ramana Maharshi's time, the cave was named after Virupaksha Deva, a 13th-century Shaivite saint and disciple of Guhai Namasivaya, who also meditated on Arunachala. Virupaksha Deva attained samadhi here, and the cave was sanctified as a spiritual abode. In the early 1900s (circa 1899-1916), Ramana Maharshi spent about 17 years living in and around this cave in deep meditation. This period is considered the foundation of his spiritual path and teaching. Many devotees began visiting him here, and it laid the groundwork for the eventual establishment of the Sri Ramanasramam. ✨ Atmosphere and Ambience As you approach Virupaksha Cave, the hustle of Tiruvannamalai town fades behind. The walk is a short uphill trail from Ramanasramam, shaded by trees and surrounded by the spiritual vibrations of Arunachala. The silence deepens as you ascend. The cave itself is modest and well-maintained. From the outside, it appears as a small stone structure built into the hill, but once inside, you're immediately enveloped by an atmosphere of stillness. It’s dim, cool, and deeply tranquil — a space where silence is palpable. 🧘‍♂️ Spiritual Significance This isn't just a historical site — it's a living center of sadhana (spiritual practice). Many seekers come here to sit in silence, meditate, or simply absorb the powerful spiritual vibrations left behind by Ramana Maharshi’s intense tapas (austerities). The cave feels timeless — not in a metaphorical way, but in a tangible sense. It is said that meditation here is deeper than in most other places. For those on the spiritual path, even a short sit in this cave can be profound. 🥾 Trekking and Path The path to Virupaksha Cave is part of the larger Arunachala Hill trail, often visited by pilgrims during Girivalam (circumambulation). The trek is manageable, but proper footwear is advisable as the terrain can be rocky in parts. You'll also pass Skandasramam, another significant cave where Ramana Maharshi later resided. 🔹 Tips for Visitors 🕒 Timings: Usually open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, but closed during midday for maintenance or when the hill is restricted. 🧴 Carry water, especially in summer months. 🙏 Silence is highly respected. Switch off your phone and sit quietly. 📷 Photography is generally discouraged inside the cave. 🚫 No shoes or loud conversation near the cave. 🔹 Overall Experience Virupaksha Cave is not just a site to see, but a place to feel and experience. Whether you’re a spiritual seeker, a lover of history, or someone just curious about India's mystical landscape, this place will leave a lasting impression. It stands as a symbol of inner journey, a cave where the body is still but the soul awakens. You don’t need to be a Ramana devotee to sense the power here — the cave speaks in silence.
This is a nice 20 minutes hike on a stone paved trail. Nature lover and spiritual seekers should explore this place of historical importance. People actually meditate in this small peaceful cave. Enjoyed the visit.
We went thru Agni lingam temple street that connects back of the Ramanashram to the Skandashram and Virupaksha cave trail. The trail was about 1.5kms one way. From Kandashram to Virupaksha cave is very near but on the descending side. such a great experience at the Virupaksha cave. A must visit spiritual site for everyone.
It's a very nice place for a short trekk. There are two ways to get to this place , one from inside Ramana ashram and other from near pey gopuram of Arunachala temple . You can't wear shoes or chappalas if you are going through Ramana ashram.Take water along with you and there is a view point from where you can see Tiru town and Arunachala temple .
This place is not just for visiting, do meditate in every possible cave.
Profoundly peaceful and powerful energy field. Must visit if you’re looking to connect with Ramana’s frequency on a deeper level. I meditated in silence for about 4 hours and felt a sense of awakening and peace that is hard to describe in words. Grateful for the opportunity to experience this in my lifetime.
Such spiritual place in Arunachal Hill. But we ppl hv destroying the hill by throwing garbage into the hill. Felt very bad n shamefull. Plastic wastes, food wastes at foothill. Literally the hill is itself inthe form SHIVA, but ppl doing lot of bad activities around the hill. I couldn't take those pictures.

It is a moderately difficult trek up the Arunachala hill with the entrance from inside Ramana Ashramam. I chose to go barefooted and went in the morning itself. Several monkeys roam about. Do not carry any visible food or colourful packets with you. Wear a cap, light coloured and loose cotton clothes, carry a water bottle in a sling bag or small back pack. The view of the town and the four gopurams is magnificent. It is advisable to maintain silence and chant Om Namah Shivaya mentally as one climbs up the hill. Om the way small shops selling fresh orange juice, buttermilk, watermelon slices, and hand carved sculptures are there. Lot of elderly beggars both men and women around seeking alms, use your discretion to grant alms, money, or food. A truly memorable experience.
Most peaceful and calming. Very good for meditation Can even do meditation inside the shrine where Ramana himself performed meditation for years To get the real power and true himself, one must be in absolute SILENCE Trek is very long amidst nature with birds and monkeys Can find household items, utensils, bed, books, etc used Ramana himself in the small room at the right side At the entrance big book stall with plenty of wisdom Peacocks everywhere 😍
Must visit skandashram if you are in arunachalam, from ramana maharishi ashram it took 45mins of trek, place mrng or evening times The view point is awesome to spend time and you can see the entire arunachalam from the view point And once you reach the ashram, you can do meditation and you can relax around Don't miss the place

Ram Ram !! This is an Ashram and place for Meditation, Sadana practice and about the Blissful Arunachala. This is not a lodge or Hotel for Tourists and travellers. Few people are commenting that no car parking, Rude ... This is the place for Seshadri Swamigal Sishyas not for Tourists. It's Ashram not a lodge . This is the scared place where Swami attained moksha and observed into Arunachala.
Great spiritual place, it is an Ashrama dedicated to Sheshadri Swami - A great Siddha of Tiruvannamalai. The ashram is adjacent to Sri Ramanasramam and has beautiful, quiet atmosphere. Accomodation can be had on arrival, but not for single person. Sheshadri Swami Samadhi, Uma Amma Samadhi, Dakshinamurthy and Ambal statues are places of worship and devotion. There is a small but beautiful garden with cement benches , from which Arunachala view can be had. The meditation hall at the back is generally empty and quiet. Overall excellent place for spiritual aspirants.
Next to Agni lingam temple in Girivalam path. Most peaceful place for meditation. Here we can offer prayer and yaagam at Seshadri Swamigal jeeva samadhi.
Seshadri swamikal blessing all devotees for their sincere prayers and giving power to all. Quite common ashram with staying accommodation rooms also small canteen. One must visit to seek blessing whenever goes to Tiruvannamalai
The person at the reception centre in shri seshadri swamigal ashramam is very careless and very irresponsible, not even responding properly, when I asked a day before for accommodation through phone, he answered me that, pls come we will allot/provide, on belief I started that day, but when reached their with my family he was very careless answered that no rooms are available here and said pls go, again I once again requested also he not at all answered me, I was very troubled that day to search a private room their because it was three days holidays continuously and all hotels, rooms were filled their. I was also tried next day also same response from him i.e. no vacant available here pls leave, even I am saying him that u have answered in phone that pls come we will provide accommodation. Finally I was very disturbed thier and returned. Therefore, I request the ashram authorities to instruct the receptionist to be kind at the pilgrims as we came their from longer distances and also request to kindly provide pakka information with regard to availability of rooms or not, or else faith on ashram may damage and also pilgrims may fell very trouble who visit to arunachalam with your confused communication. Thank u.
This is a very quiet place with no traffic sounds inside the ashram. There ia accomdiation available here but you need to call up their office and find availability. The rooms may be quite old as thia ia very old ashram. But the inside campus is very tranquile. There is a small foor canteen inside the Ashram on payment basis. The taste is just ok and rates are obviously cheeper compared to commercial hotels outside. You can spend some quite time inside th ashram freely f you need to.
it is one of the must visit place in your lifetime. this place contains absolute positive vibrations. it is very calm and is the perfect place for meditation. parking is available for both two wheelers and also for four wheelers. donations can also be done here. cleanliness is strictly maintained. the staff are very friendly and also helpfull to the people who are in need of help.
Located on Girivalam Road. Very near to Ramana Maharshi Ashram. There are few small small temples inside the campus. Lovely spiritual place to visit.

This is the 2nd temple you visit as part of Girivalam. Agnilingam represents the Lingam worshipped by the God of Fire. This temple is situated on the side of Gorivalam road, about 3kms from the Arunachala temple of Tiruvannamalai. I went through autorickshaw, the driver charged me around rs 300. The temple is a very small one, but well maintained. Worshipping this Lingam helps devotees get relief from disease, to maintain good health and also helps them face problems and difficulties in their lives.
Agni lingam would be 2nd lingam in sequence either by walk or by vehicle, the temple is good in terms of space and maintenance but parking is somewhat difficult.
🙏🏻Agni Linga (South-East – Second Stop)🙏🏻🔥 • Position: 2nd linga on the path, in the southeast direction. • Guardian: Agni, the Fire God. • Symbolism: Fire = purification, transformation, energy, and spiritual ignition. • Blessings: Burns away sins and karmic debts, removes laziness, brings spiritual growth, and supports new beginnings. • Special Note: Devotees light lamps and offer red flowers here. • Extra Info: Worship here is believed to dissolve negative karma from past births.
Located in the girivalam path around 1 km from the starting point. The temple is well maintained.
Arulmigu Agni Lingam is the second lingam while doing girivalam at Arunachala temple girivalam. This lingam is worship by the lord of fire (Agnideva). This is one of the 8 siva lingam of girivalam at arunachala temple
Om Namah Shivay... This lingam is really devotional magic. The power of this lingam makes you sweat despite of the chilling winter season

Tiruvannamalai is the place where, you meet your new life after first visit, you will see many miracles in your life , Annamalaiyar is everything
Wonderful and very special place. Hiking a bit up the mountain to a lookout point is allowed but no further than that. It’s highly illegal. There is a volunteer organization that cleans the mountain, you can join them to be able to go higher than what’s allowed for the public. It’s a special feeling hiking up this mountain.
Just I want to inform people about this Giri pradakshina or Giri valayam what ever it may be really please don't go in summer especially in the morning times.tamilnadu is most heated place so that you can't walk with out slippers and there is no toilet facilities and no water facilities everything available only at powrnami days only everything will locked in normal days no footpath also for pilgrims who want to walk no more shed and shelter the lodging and hotels are charged by person count they'll charge 3to 4 hundred per person only two persons will allow in one room if family of four persons you will take two rooms that is also very worst in cleaning 🧹🧹 toilet in room also very worst.
Temple 🛕 is so nice well maintained clean area in side the Temple
I am blessed to visit such a beautiful temple
It's a nice place to visit. Summer I will not recommend. You can visit other times. 14 km Girivalam ( walking around the mountain) is a ritual here , that you can do any time. Please choose good hotels for staying. Before you taking auto, or car service ask the rate before ride. Thiruvannamalai people are friendly. Arunacahala mountain, & ramana maharshi ashram is an attraction.
Arunachala is a very big temple of Lord Shiva .It is very famous on Full moon Day (Pournami) Giri pradakshna is done by the piligrims who visit the temple and it is about 14 kms (round the hill, giri pradakshna) .The temple's Architecture is amazing.

Very peaceful and devotional place at thiruvannamalai. Located opposite to the ramashramam. Very neat and clean atmosphere. Car parking available. Restroom available. More than 2000 devotees can sit inside the temple. Drinking water facility available.
It was only by the grace of Bhagavan that I was able to enter this divine place. After visiting, my mind became fixed on the magical name, "Yogi Ramsuratkumar, Jaya Guru Raya." Over many visits, my life changed significantly through chanting this name. We also have a prayer box where any prayer can be written and dropped, trusting that Bhagavan will take care of it. This ashram, after a few visits, creates a boundless relationship with Bhagavan, who remains with us every second. Within a few months of visiting, many miracles occurred. My prayer to Bhagavan is to grant divine experiences to every creature in the universe."
Have been visiting this place for years now. Previously the ashram and Ramana ashram can be reached via chengam bus but they have stopped it now. Only way is through public transport or autos. Dont provide more than 100 rs for auto. Ashram is pleasant, had chance to mediate for sometime peacefully. Seeing yogi is a blessing. The gift shop is open until 4pm so plan accordingly. Have a good darshan

After Sri Ramanasramam this is the second most famous ashrama in Tiruvannamalai. Serene and peaceful atmosphere, spacious campus, feeding of sadhus and common people, Arati, bhajans, satsangs.
The Yogi Ramsuratkumar Ashram is a beautiful place filled with love and peace. It's a large ashram that includes a Yaga salai, dining hall, main prayer hall, kitchen, well-maintained garden, elementary school, and guest houses. Yogi Ramsurathkumar, affectionately known as Visiri saamiyaar, shared messages with the world from this sacred place. Every day, Annadhanam is offered, and prasadham is provided in the main prayer hall. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Thiruvanamalai, this ashram offers a nurturing environment for individuals to explore meditation, yoga, and spiritual teachings. The wisdom shared here is profound, guiding visitors towards mindfulness and enlightenment. It's a truly special place to connect with your inner self and find peace in the midst of life's chaos.

This temple is over 1,000 years old, featuring stunning architecture! Thankfully, it has been well-preserved and is still well-maintained today. Pros: ▪️Ample car parking available. ▪️Peaceful atmosphere, even on weekends. ▪️Clean and well-maintained premises. Cons: ▪️The road leading to the temple is poorly constructed and not in good condition. ▪️Since the temple is located in a remote village, there are very few options for eateries, shopping, and medical facilities nearby. It's advisable to plan accordingly. ❗ Important Note for Devotees: If you plan to offer silver anklets, you will need to provide a GST bill.
Peaceful and Divine Experience at Thirumiyachur Lalithambigai Temple I had the blessing of visiting the Thirumiyachur Lalithambigai Temple recently, and it was a truly serene and fulfilling experience. I reached the temple around 8:45 AM and was greeted by a peaceful, calm atmosphere. The temple was not crowded at all, which made the experience even more spiritually enriching. I first offered my prayers to Sri sakalabhuvaneswarar Swamy, beginning with a flower offering and archanai performed by the priest. The rituals were done in a calm manner, setting a perfect tone for the rest of the visit. I then proceeded to offer my prayers to Sri Lalithambigai Ambal. I had brought a pattu sari, flower garlands, sumangali set and a pair of silver kolusu (anklets) for Ambal. The temple priest guided me to obtain a receipt (₹50) for the offerings, and I was also asked to produce the purchase receipt for the kolusu as part of the temple's protocol. The darshan of both Sri Meganatha Swamy and Sri Lalithambigai Ambal was deeply satisfying. The divine presence, combined with the quiet surroundings, made for a spiritually uplifting morning. I left the temple with a sense of contentment and gratitude. Highly recommend visiting during early hours if you're seeking a peaceful and divine experience without the crowds.
Hi guys I am from Bengaluru and I visited this Beautiful Temple on 22/7/25. 1)Thirumeyachur Lalithambigai is a Hindu temple dedicated to the goddess Lalithambika, located in the village of Thirumeyachur, Tamil Nadu, India. 2)This temple is over 1,000 years old, featuring stunning architecture! 3) Temple Timings is from 6AM to 12PM and from 4PM to 8PM. 4) Steeped in mythology, this sacred site is believed to be the birthplace of Sri Yama, Sri Shani and Sri Arunan. 5) It's also the place where the sacred Lalitha Sahasranamam originated. 6)As I marveled at the temple's exquisite architecture, I was deeply moved by the divine energy within. 7)The moment I entered the garbhalaya for darshan of Sri Lalithambika Devi, I felt an unexplainable sense of connection. 8)Don't forget to have darshan of Maa Durga, accompanied by a parrot in her left hand. According to legend, this parrot is none other than Sri Sukabrahma Rishi, who graciously conveys our prayers and desires to Sri Lalithambika. 9) Here Lord Shiva is Worshipped as Lord Meghanadha Swamy. 10) Parking space is available for both 2/4 Wheelers with 50rs parking fee. 11) There are shops available right outside the temple for all pooja items. Separately available for Lord Shiva and Goddess Lalithambiga. Cost is 80/- and 120/- respectively. Lotus flower is 20/- 12)it is a rare temple that u can see the Goddess Lalithambika Devi wearing an Anklets. 13) Important Note for Devotees: If you plan to offer silver anklets, you will need to provide a GST bill. 14) Lot of people visit the temple occasionally. It's about 18 kms from Mayiladuthurai and 33 km from Kumbakonam.
Most auspicious and powerfully goddess. Must vist. She is beautiful 😍 Get her blessings
By the Grace of Maa Lalitha we got a golden opportunity to do Saran of Lalithambica in Ghee. Unexpectedly the day before we get to know that there is a ritual where we can see Lalithamba in Ghee. The particular ritual will happens yearly twice. Very luckily we get that opportunity. Actually they put a huge quantity of chakkarapingali (Ghee pored on top) After Lalithamba Darsan In Ghee they distribute the chakkarapingali as prasadam.
Awesome temple.. quiet interior.. a lot of beautiful sculptures. A very neat and clean temple. Accessibility is a toss as it is not easily reachable
What an amazing hidden gem. Being a resident of Mayiladuthurai, no idea how I had missed this temple so long. I felt it like a miniature of Thirukkadayur amirthakadeswarar temple. Lalithambigai was so mesmerizing and devotional omnipresent. The priests were nice and did their job well. The outer area was not maintained and couldn't walk around the temple which was a pity. Hope it's not the case next time. Overall a must visit.
This is Very Powerful to Kadaga Rasi, Especially if you visit this temple one time your Life, Very good turning point in your Life time and that day from onwards you become blessings and peace and happiness, Prosperous life day by day......Very Powerful Amma Shri Lalithambigai Temple, Must visit everyone your Life, 100% Your prayer become blessings......

Resently visited Parvathamalai in Tiruvanamalai which was amazing . The view points are spectacular , we went from tiruvallur to tiruvanamalai , we stayed in near by temple in tiruvanamalai , we catched the earliest bus to parvathamalai which is 4.30 AM if missed the next bus is nearly at 7 AM . There are nearby shops in Parvathamalai base . we started to climb the mountain at 6AM and we decented at 1 PM . Take some water bottle because the water bottles are to high priced . You can find many shops in the mountain so don't worry about snacks . You will be provided free food in the base temple of parvathamalai . Don't climb the mountain so fast take some breaks because it will make you tired while coming down ( based on my own exprience ) You can go there with your family but going with friends is best because you need to care about your family very much because there are more spots which are very physically challenging . Avoid carrying Heavy bags and take some sticks because there are more monkeys to snatch your belongings . The view point are very heart melting . There are some spots that is amazing which has better view and the breeze makes your hard trek into a pleasurable one . Enjoy the trip and you can have free lunch again in the base which is generally a Sambar rice and in morning you will get a plate of Kanji and Pickle which is good avoid drinking juice in empty stomach which have an chance to make your head to pain . You can reach the mountian through auto or by walk and in afternoon there are plenty of bus flying to thiruvanamalai but the last bus to parvathamalai is some where around 9.45 to 10.50 PM . Have a good journey
It’s wonderful trek for who likes adventure 6.6Km one side. One of the beautiful and dangerous terk point. From Bangalore 200Km .
Paruvathamalai is one of the expert-level trekking experiences you should visit once in your lifetime.Parking facilities are available for cars, bikes, and vans in the parking lot. Please start trekking at 5am or else start at evening after 4pm to avoid sun and don't carry luggage. Go with a small decathlon bag to carry a small towel and water bottle; that's more than enough. Once you start trekking, be careful with monkeys; so many monkeys are there. Buy water and biscuits. Don't buy bananas due to Monkey. On weekends they arranged shop, from bottom to top, we will see 5 to 6 tent shops, so no problem for water and juice. Once you reach the top, you can buy Pooja items there, but at a bit of an expense. The main point is that Paruvathamalai is the only place 24/7 where you will get free food. That's too good 💯
Loved the experience.its quite hard for beginners.the trail path through kadalady is more challenging especially during evening as it gets really dark downhill.
The trekking was very adventurous & fun😄. Beware of the monkeys 🐒 at the top. When I was climbing the iron ladders🪜, the monkeys 🐒 are started snatching the bag. So please bring a long stick to scare them. Because this is my first time climbing at this hills, I didn't even bring a stick with me while I'm going to the top of the hills. Then i regretted it.
This is a beautiful hill located off Thiruvanamalai. The kadaladi forest has a trail path that leads to the Parvadhamalai Sivan temple. The trek takes about 4-6 hours for an average person. The top view from the forest is really splendid. There is a Sivan temple on the hill top. Best time to go for trekking is during early morning or late evening. Take enough water and energy food like - nuts and fruits. There are also shops that sell water, snacks, butter milk and juices but are slightly expensive given the hilly trek. Best to wear sport shoes and light shorts and tees. A must try trek which is on the outskirts of Chennai. Best choice for one day trips from Chennai.
Must visit for spiritual seekers. Our body, mind and spirit gets naturally healed as we climb and reach the hill top. Good vibration inside temple. Be careful while climbing kadapara parai (the last part). Temple priest is kind enough to give us water and food at night time. Lights are not burning inside the temple, so carry torch. Some youngsters are making unnecessary noise and playing music with high volume even at midnight, this kind of disturbing the environment and vibration. Pls be careful with monkeys. They will snatch anything in plastic bags or water bottles. Better to keep everything inside the bag including water bottles.

Arulmigu Niruthi Lingam, one of the sacred Ashta Lingams on the Girivalam path around Arunachala hill, is a serene and spiritually powerful shrine situated in the southwest direction. The temple is simple yet beautifully maintained, creating a peaceful atmosphere that allows devotees to connect deeply with their prayers. It is believed that worshipping here provides protection from negative energies, stability in life, and relief from certain ailments, especially skin and nerve-related issues. Offering blue flowers is considered very auspicious at this shrine, and many pilgrims pause here with devotion while doing the circumambulation of Arunachala. Unlike the bustling Arunachaleswarar temple, this lingam offers a quiet and personal space for reflection and inner peace. The evening hours are particularly magical, with the sunset adding a divine glow to the shrine. Devotees often describe their experience as grounding and soothing, with a unique energy that balances the fiery presence of Arunachala. While some have pointed out concerns regarding money offerings and priests, the overall ambience and sanctity remain deeply inspiring. A must-visit for anyone undertaking Girivalam, Niruthi Lingam may be small, but the spiritual calm it radiates stays in your heart long after you leave.
Niruthi Linga (South-West – 4th Stop, ~5 km) • Guardian: Niruthi – Lord of dissolution & destruction • Symbolism: Removal of evil, negative forces, misfortune • Blessings: Protection from enemies, black magic, curses, constant struggles • Special Notes: Brings stability and courage to face hardships. • Devotional Insight: Many light incense sticks here to drive away negativity.
Niruthi lingam is the 4th lingam in the sequence, the temple is well maintained and good in terms of aesthetics.

Niruthi lingam in Thiruvannamalai is the fourth of the eight Lingams (Ashta Lingams) which one encounters during Girivalam in Thiruvannamalai. This lingam is also known as Nirudhi lingam. You can see peacocks around temple premises.
Must visit place when you are doing giri pradakshana. The Nirudhi Lingam is the shrine where Lord Nirudhi the Lord of the cardinal South West direction worshiped Lord Arunachaleswarar and got absolved of his sins.

What a wonderful establishment, from the personable and knowledgeable owners to the arts and scents and lovely organic cotton clothing. You will find something that will speak to you. Pieces here are unique, including the clothing and you will not find anything in town like their products. Every time I’m in town I always like to see what they have and find another jewel that I will continue to wear for years until my next visit. They do not tear or wear out quickly, they last and are very high-quality. I was not disappointed this time, purchasing a beautiful Long top and scarf, beautiful fabric. Thank you to these wonderful brothers for offering what they do and for being so kind. Location is great, just a block from the Ashram, and prices are great for the high-quality products that they offer. I’m happy.
True to its name, Mystical India is indeed a mystical paradise. The owner, Zulfi, is a beautiful soul and a deeply knowledgeable antique collector. The store has a stunning collection of organic clothing, kurtas, gemstones, fragrances, and exquisite antique paintings and jewellery. Visiting it is truly a beautiful experience.
Wow, a pleasantly great experience. A great variety of superfine cotton clothes. Highly recommended
Felt very happy by visiting and shooing mystical India arts and crafts the collections are very good
i visited this shop a week ago...... there's lots of stuff to watch out.....it was a good experience there and good environment and friendly shop owners....
It's a nice shop, a little hidden away, very nice items in his shop and Zulfiqar seems like a kind man. Bought a pair of pants and am very happy with them
This is a beautiful shop just about two minutes walking distance from Yogi Ram Surat Kumar's ashram. Mainly for cotton clothes. I have seen such clothing being sold in Pondicherry and Rishikesh, but not in other places. Definitely not in cities such as Chennai, Bangalore. The prices are a tad expensive, but I guess, you pay for the quality and uniqueness. Bought bottoms (Alauddin) for my sister. To surprise her on her upcoming birthday. Kurtas, rings, chains for women and shirts for men are available too. Very kind and courteous staff. I will go with a 4-star. If the prices are a bit more affordable, I would definitely give a 5-star rating. I struck a conversation with them and came to know that they have been operating for over 20 years now. Amazing. Good luck to them.
I was in mystical shop with my yoga students. The organic clothes are very good and very comfortable to suitable for daily use.highly recommended for everybody those who are in tiruvannamalai. Super. Excellent.
