An unforgettable experience. The train ride alone is spectacular, and at the top you’re rewarded with breathtaking views of glaciers and snow-capped peaks. A must-do in Switzerland.
Absolutely breathtaking. The top of Europe it prides itself as. 3475M of elevation. A must visit if you're in Grindelwald. You have to change trains twice to get up here but the views are amazing. Theres different stations that you can go to and there's an ice station as well. You can easily spend 2 to 3 hours here.
There’s no denying it: the Jungfraujoch is one of the most spectacular spots in all of Switzerland. The panorama is simply breathtaking — an endless sea of snow and glaciers framed by the iconic peaks of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. It’s the kind of place that makes you whisper “wow” before you even realize you’re doing it. That said, the experience is very tourist-oriented — and I say that with both appreciation and a smile. On the one hand, it’s impressive how accessible everything is: tunnels, elevators, shops, cafés, even an ice palace. The Swiss engineering behind this mountaintop infrastructure deserves applause. On the other hand, the sheer number of visitors can make you feel like you’ve taken a scenic detour through a luxury shopping mall at 3,500 meters. And then there’s the crowd itself — a fascinating, unstoppable wave of excited tourists from all over the world. You haven’t truly experienced the Jungfraujoch until you’ve seen a group of people taking selfies in sneakers at nearly 4,000 meters above sea level. It’s equal parts surreal and entertaining — like a nature documentary directed by Wes Anderson. All in all, the Jungfraujoch remains an unforgettable experience. It’s beautiful, over-the-top, slightly chaotic, and absolutely worth it. Just don’t expect solitude or silence — and maybe bring sunglasses, patience, and a good sense of humor along with your camera.
Absolutely stunning, snow all round the year, less tourist compared to Titlis. A nice tour route set up. You will clearly need 5 hrs and more if you want to enjoy every spot at your pace. The snowtubing and sledging were absolute fun. 20 CHF for Half hour and unlimited rides. Ice palace was beautifully carved. The hot chocolate shop at Aletsch glacier was yummy. Point to note- you have to walk a lot there, but for older people and people who are unable to walk a lot, there are places to sit in the warmth of the tunnel and enjoy the views.
Mürren is a village suspended between earth and sky, a quiet balcony carved into the cliffs of the Swiss Alps. Here, the world seems to breathe more slowly. Wooden chalets cling to the mountainsides like timeless guardians, and the air carries the clean, ringing silence of high places—broken only by the distant echo of waterfalls or the soft bells of grazing cows. From this lofty terrace, the giants of the Bernese Alps—Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau—stand like ancient sentinels, their snowy crowns catching the first blush of dawn and the last gold of evening. The clouds drift low, brushing past rooftops like wandering spirits, and every path leads to vistas that feel almost unreal, as if the mountains had stepped out of a painting and invited you to walk inside. Mürren is not merely a place to visit; it is a place to feel. A place where time loosens its grip, where every breath tastes of pine and glacier, and where the heart instinctively slows to the rhythm of the land. It is Switzerland at its most enchanting—quiet, majestic, and impossibly beautiful.
never would, I have thought that I would experience my first high altitude sickness at Jungfraujoch. It was a torturous 20 minutes however, most of my time spent there was nothing short of amazing
An absolute must see if you're in the Jungfrau region. The views of the Alps are unreal. The viewing platform at the Sphinx and the area with the flags lower down give the best photo opportunities. The ice sculptures are worth checking out.
The number one attraction as well as the most expensive attention in all of Switzerland. It cost about $500 usd for two people. The gondola ride up is amazing and the best cable car ride in the world. After the cable car you arrive at eigen glacier which is also very beautiful, then you take the train up to jungfraujoch and the train stops in the middle for you to see another glacier. Once you’re at the top there are several stations you can take a look at most of which can be seen in the photos I posted. You’ll also want to check their public webcam to make sure the weather is good on the day you come.

Visiting Schilthorn Piz Gloria was absolutely one of the highlights of my trip. The cable car ride itself was an incredible experience, smooth, comfortable, and offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Swiss Alps. As we ascended, the scenery just kept getting more and more spectacular. At the top, the weather was perfect, which made the whole experience even more magical. The 360° views from Piz Gloria are truly stunning with snow-capped peaks, valleys, and endless mountain ranges that leave you speechless. The Bond-themed touches add a fun and unique twist to the visit, but the natural beauty alone is worth every penny. It’s not just a sightseeing trip, it’s an unforgettable adventure. Between the views, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, I can confidently say this was worth every moment and every cent. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Switzerland!
Somewhat pricey to take the gondola up to the top, but it's well worth it for the views. There is a bunch of James Bond history and plaquards. But the views alone are breathtaking. You should fefinitely wait for a clear day, othe you'll just be looking at the fog.
Break taking views! Certain areas were under construction, but it did not take away from our experience. Be sure to walk out to the point and enjoy time in one of the viewing boxes.
Was the filming location of a 007 movie. Granted it is not as high as Jungrafraujoch, but the views are equally fantastic. Highly recommended to make a trip here. There is a rotating restaurant at the tower area also as well that serves very decent buffet lunch.
Great experience. The cable car on the first stretch is supposedly the steepest in the world. Remembered to include the 9 Euro cheese / cold cut option, which is served at the revolving Piz Gloria restaurant. It comes with a drink and there was plenty of food to fill us up. And it tasted good, too. So pretty much a no-brainer. The view from the top was great. Unfortunately clouds descended while we were there and it even started to hail. Which kind of added to the whole experience. Some cool James Bond stuff - check out the bathroom mirrors! Unfortunately quite a lot of construction going on, which detracted from the whole experience. Will still give it 5 stars, but probably more like 4.5 due to construction, high cost and a very unpleasant guy in the ticket booth. Everything else was perfect and definitely an experience. Now back in the US and planning on watching On Her Majesty’s Secret Service tonight 😊
My less-than-ideal rating was solely due to the unfortunate timing of my visit. Otherwise, I would have missed the opportunity to go altogether. It was a heavily overcast day, because of that, I skipped exploring Birg and went straight up to Schilthorn instead. On top of the poor weather, Schilthorn was still under construction. After a quick browse through the gift shop, a short walk around the outdoor deck, and a light snack at the restaurant, it was already time to head back down. I’d have to return someday to truly experience the full beauty of this attraction. Hopefully on a clear day and once the construction is finally complete.
The views are priceless and it's definitely worth it to go! However, be warned that getting around through the construction is extremely difficult. It look 20 minutes to figure out how to go down to the Walk of Fame and the View Lounges. That, for me, was the best part. It's away from the hordes of people fighting to get the best selfie and closer to nature. You can see forever! The best time to go is usually between 15:00-18:00 in the summer (weather permitting) because the clouds tend to lift around that time.
There are no doubts that the place is awesome. But you need to be prepared that if you buy tickets in advance, the weather can spoil everything. Switzerland is quite a rainy place. Luckily we saw the village Murren on our way to the piz Gloria, but everything else was… you can see it on my photos 🥲

We visited on a bit of an overcast day but the skies cleared and offered spectacular views of Interlaken. We purchased the special ticket offering return trip on the Harder Klum Funicular and a set lunch menu at the Panorama restaurant at the top. Great value. The trip is also wheelchair accessible however you need to locate the back entrance which is further up the road from the main boarding area, on the first side entrance on the left. Well worth the visit.
Absolutely amazing! The funicular is super fun and the views at the top are insane — mountains, lakes, everything. The viewing platform is a must, and the restaurant has great vibes too. Perfect spot for sunset. Don’t miss it if you’re in Interlaken 👍
The views from the top are absolutely breathtaking — definitely one of the best panoramas in Switzerland. The ride up was smooth and easy, and once you get there, the viewing platform makes it feel like you’re floating above Interlaken. We loved taking our time at the top just soaking in the mountains, the lakes, and the fresh air. Such a peaceful and memorable place. Totally worth the trip — highly recommended!
We recently visited Harder Kulm, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Located above the beautiful town of Interlaken, this panoramic viewpoint offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, lakes, and the iconic Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks. The journey to the top is an adventure in itself taking a funicular ride from Interlaken up to the summit ( there happens to be a pretty steep hike as well that can take you up there) was smooth, comfortable, and gave us our first taste of the stunning alpine scenery. Once at the top, we were greeted with a 360-degree vista that truly took our breath away. The observation platform is perfect for photos, and we spent quite a while just soaking in the views. We also had a chance to explore the area a little more, with well-maintained paths leading to even more scenic spots around the summit. One of the highlights was the viewing platform's ( also referred to as the two lakes bridge as you get to see the Thun and Brienz lakes) glass floor.Stepping out onto it felt like flying over the town of Interlaken, and it was a thrilling experience. For those who are a bit more adventurous, there also are a couple of hikes around ( one’s simple the other being a challenging strenuous hike) where you can feel completely surrounded by nature and mountains. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the warm atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing day out or an adventure in the mountains, Harder Kulm delivers both in spades. Highly recommend this spot if you're in the area and it's definitely worth the visit!
Fun steep ride up to the view point. Unfortunately the weather fogged up and stares to rain. We took some quick pictures and headed back to beat the crowds on the return trip. This was included in our travel pass so we figured we'd check it out no matter the weather.
Visited Harder Kulm with my wife and kid and absolutely loved it. The view from the top is breathtaking, overlooking Interlaken and the lakes. The funicular ride was smooth and scenic, and the viewpoint is perfect for family photos. A wonderful experience for all ages
A pricey trip up but the ride is unique. View from the top over Interlaken is great. Little to do say the top except visit the restaurant.
Harder Kulm feels like stepping into a postcard — where Interlaken, Lake Thun, and Lake Brienz meet under a sea of clouds. The view is simply unreal, and the funicular ride up adds a touch of adventure to the journey. A must-visit for anyone chasing that “top of the world” feeling in Switzerland. 🇨🇭✨

This is awesome! You get to see the waterfall from 10 different viewing spots. Plus the views of the valley are amazing! My recommendation: Take the lift up as far as it goes, then walk the rest of the way to the very top (lift doesn't go that far). Then walk down to catch the viewing spots you missed during the lift. The walk is nowhere as steep or rocky as Staubbachfall. I enjoyed Trummelbach so much more. It's a wonderful experience! P.S. Free parking and a cute little cafe right outside (we didn't try it, but it was popular).
Maybe the one thing in Switzerland that doesn’t feel overpriced. Awesome experience. The roaring of the waterfalls in the caves was potentially a cooler experience than the actual waterfalls themselves. Plenty of parking Pro tip: take elevator to the 6-10 waterfalls and then make your way down from 6-1. Was an hour and a half experience for us.
Spectacular falls which are well set up with all the different viewpoints. I took the lift up to viewpoint 6 then walked the stairs to the top, which isn't difficult but you definitely need good grippy shoes. I didn't get too wet, only a few drips here and there but you will need a jacket as it is very cold. There is a little souvenir shop located along the path as well as the cafe with clean toilets. I stopped for coffee and a muffin, both were delicious 😋
An unforgettable experience! Trümmelbach Falls is a truly unique natural wonder — 10 glacier waterfalls hidden inside a mountain, carrying meltwater from the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. You ride a lift up through the rock and walk through tunnels, stairs, and bridges carved into the cliff. It’s moderately physical (lots of steps!), but totally worth it. The sound and power of the waterfalls — up to 20,000 liters per second — is breathtaking. Well organized, very safe, and perfect for a 1-hour visit. Highly recommend wearing good non-slip shoes. Tickets were CHF 14 for adults (2024) and free parking is just a 2-minute walk from the entrance.
Trümmelbach Falls, in Lauterbrunnen Valley lets you walk inside a mountain, with roaring waterfalls echoing through rock tunnels. The short hike includes stairs up and down, so wear sturdy shoes. There is optional lift inside the mountain. Visit early to avoid crowds and bring a waterproof jacket—the spray is strong. Tickets can be bought on site. The dramatic sound and close-up views make it a rare natural wonder worth seeing. Photography is allowed but watch your gear around water.
Very cool experience! The admission is 15CHF per adult and 7CHF per kid and for us it is it was definitely worth it. Not to mention that the walk to the area is breathtaking.
🌊 **Trümmelbach Falls: Where Glaciers ROAR Inside the Mountain!** 🏔️💥 Picture this: 10 thundering waterfalls, *carved deep into a mountain*, fueled by the meltwater of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau glaciers. That’s Trümmelbach Falls—Switzerland’s underground spectacle that’ll leave you awestruck! 📸 **Why This Is a MUST-See:** ✅ **Glacial Powerhouse** – Witness 20,000 liters of water *per second* crashing through narrow gorges. ✅ **Mountain Elevator** – Ride a funicular into the cliffside to explore caves, tunnels, and jaw-dropping viewpoints. ✅ **Nature’s Sculpture** – Marvel at how water has carved swirling, roaring chasms over millennia. **Pro Tips:** 🔊 **Earplugs optional** – The roar is *deafening* (in the best way). 👟 Wear waterproof gear – You *will* get misty! 💰 Entry fee: ~CHF 16 (worth every franc). 📅 Visit May-October when the falls are accessible and raging! **Pair It With:** ✨ Staubbach Falls (5 mins away) – Combine the raw power of Trümmelbach with its graceful neighbor. 🚞 Jungfrau Railway – Continue your alpine adventure to the “Top of Europe.” This isn’t just a waterfall—it’s Earth’s heartbeat turned up to 11. Have you ever felt this level of natural power? 🌍💦 #TrümmelbachFalls #SwissAlps #GlacierMagic #EpicNature #AdventureAwaits *P.S. The spiral staircases inside the mountain feel like a secret dwarven kingdom. 🧙♂️✨*
I’d highly recommend going. Before visiting I was hesitating, but in person it is impressive (photos don’t capture well).

This mountain is a gem. It's an amazing place to be and just sit and watch the cows, the bees and the paragliders. I advise to go up by cable cart / furnicular and go down by hike. You could go even further up to the top but we didn't do that. Unfortunately there was a long line for the mountain carts so we went back by cable cart.
Season summer/ Perfect for hiking and viewpoints, a lot of cows. Approximately 25 minutes the cable car route. Winter Jacket, and sunglasses too 😅. But be careful. If you want to do extra activities there, you have to be there early because at 14:00 there was a waiting list of 150 , 190 minutes ..
We arrived at First Grindelwald around 3pm hoping to try some of the rides, but unfortunately they were all sold out except for the scooters, which we decided to skip. We still went up the gondola though, and it was worth it for the stunning views and the First Cliff Walk experience. To really make the most out of your gondola ticket, I recommend visiting earlier in the day or booking your rides online in advance so you don’t miss out like we did. The place is absolutely beautiful, but be prepared—it can get really crowded even on a weekday.
Nice weather when we went up and we spent quite a while marvelling at the beauty of the place. Spent a long time walking around, taking pictures and just enjoying the cool weather.
Expensive but also very beautiful scenery. Cost almost $200 U.S. dollars for two people. Cable car ride is 25 minutes and you can hike to the lake or do the cliff walk. I spent about a total of 4 hours here including the cable car ride.
Really nice place there also if you want to save up some money and not go to Jungfraujoch. The only “problem” is the weather and from what I’ve been told from people that work there 50% is good weather 50% is bad weather and foggy. Not that it’s a big problem . It was still really nice to me! But the view is much more clear obviously and you can definitely appreciate the beauty of the mountains all around in 360 view without the foggy weather :-)
One of the most beautiful places I have ever been! It was the highlight of the Swiss 🇨🇭 tour! Stunning! Plus saw a live avalanche
Spectacular views. It is a huge area and has something for everyone. Adventure, nature, play ground, viewpoint. We were there for hiking to Bachsee, 2 hours roundtrip.

Beautiful city! The walking path to view all the waterfalls is a must. So happy we stopped here and would recommend this town to anyone who comes to Switzerland!
Lauterbrunnen Valley is absolutely breathtaking! The river runs crystal clear, waterfalls cascade from the cliffs, and during spring, the valley is filled with vibrant yellow flowers. A truly magical place to experience nature at its best.
Such a beautiful little town, very clean and well maintained. The streets are charming and it has a really pleasant atmosphere. We spent about two hours strolling around, taking our time to enjoy the views and the peaceful vibe. A lovely place to wander and soak up the surroundings.
Walking through the village, you’ll be greeted by traditional Swiss chalets, vibrant flower boxes, and the soothing sound of cascading water. The views are simply unforgettable—lush green meadows, dramatic rock faces, and the majestic Staubbach Falls tumbling down near the village center. Whether you’re hiking, biking, or just strolling, every corner offers a picture-perfect scene. For adventure enthusiasts, Lauterbrunnen is the gateway to incredible experiences: take a cable car up to Mürren or Wengen for panoramic alpine views, or explore nearby Jungfraujoch for a high-altitude thrill. If you prefer a slower pace, enjoy a coffee at a local café while soaking in the serene beauty of the valley.
Lauterbrunnen is a valley that feels straight out of a fairy tale—it's absolutely stunning. Staubbach Falls is just a short walk from the town. I visited in April and got to explore Staubbach Falls, Trümmelbach Falls, and Mürren.
“Lauterbrunnen is pure magic! 🌄✨ Surrounded by towering cliffs and stunning waterfalls, it feels like stepping into a fairy tale. Peaceful, breathtaking, and unforgettable — Switzerland at its finest! 💙🏞️ #Lauterbrunnen #Switzerland”

Nestled among the majestic Swiss Alps, this valley is a dream destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike. The sheer beauty of the valley is awe-inspiring. Towering waterfalls, including the famous Staubbach Falls, plunge dramatically from the cliffs, creating a surreal landscape. I wouldn’t have chosen to come here on my own, but had a very enjoyable morning walking around the museum. Included in the Swiss Travel Pass, it’s an excellent and inexpensive way to get some steps in and learn about the history of the country. My favorite parts were the animals roaming throughout and the accordion group playing fabulous music at the cultural stage. We went to the east entrance (a few stops later on the same bus line if coming from Brienz) and made a loop before making it all the way to the west entrance. It was a little difficult to get around for young kids/strollers/those with mobility concerns.
Saw very good review about this place decided to give it a try. The playground is nice. CAROUSELL is simple but age 130 years old something different. The house that showcase how 200 years ago people living here is quite interesting, but wish there are more English explanation so that we know what we seeing. Many houses we visit is close or no one around at all. If need to pay for ticket I think is not quite worth it. We got cover by Swiss travel pass. The train ride inside is almost non existence because only a few ride a day at selected timing and you can tour around if you want to take train. End up we walk alot and some are not easy path. We were lost half way as this place is huge and limited sign. The map and sign some need sometime to figure out.
it's an amazing journey through time and hand-crafts! there are hundreds of structures guiding you through the places and timea of older switzerland with live demonstration for pottery, rope making, milling and many more! the crafts are well explained and kids & adults are equally in awe! many nifty playgrounds and infrastructure make the experience well rounded. the horse carriage schedule and high prices could be made more pleasant. also more simple info for how such houses were build would be cool.
Absolutely loved every moment of my visit! I had the honor of meeting a leather craftsman who was so kind as to make me a keyring. I chose a Longhorn design, perfect for a Texan. I also met the soup and coffee makers who used original equipment to create delicious, timeless food and drinks. It was truly amazing to watch. As I walked around the open-air museum, I was fascinated by how each house was unique in its own way. There was also a restaurant and a shack selling food and drinks. I could have easily spent the entire day there but unfortunately I had to catch a train and it's time to leave. Highly recommended.
You can spend the best 6 hours here. I am so impressed how well it is done and how big this is. I will come every season. It is definitely worth traveling 5 hours just for this❤️
So much to do and such great value for money. I recommend arriving early to get full value from your visit as you’ll need several hours to explore the various areas of Switzerland that are represented. A beautiful place, friendly staff and an essential stop for a summertime holiday in the Bernese Oberland.
One of the best places in Switzerland to visit with kids. The museum route is charming and very interesting, and the land is huge! We all learned a lot on our visit. Don't hurry, it’s impossible to see it all. One more reason to come back again…

My boat ride on Lake Brienz was memorable. Endless views of the turquoise lake and surrounding Alps were breathtaking. Boat was clean and comfortable, service excellent. A peaceful, unforgettable way to soak in the beauty of Switzerland. Highly recommend.
Lake Brienz was one of our favourite spots when we visited Interlaken. Strolling along the lakeside and browsing the shops on both sides of the street was such a relaxing experience.
This stunning lake in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland is one of the most scenic and serene places in the country. Surrounded by majestic mountains, lush forests, and picturesque villages, Lake Brienz offers a variety of activities and attractions for every type of traveller. Whether you want to relax on a boat ride, swim in the crystal-clear water, hike to a waterfall, or explore a historic town, Lake Brienz has something for you. We stayed at Lake Brienz, and it turned out to be one of the most beautiful and scenic moments of our trip. The lake's turquoise blue waters are truly mesmerizing. Absolutely captivated by the scenery. Waking up to a view of the Eiger and Jungfrau bathed in early sunlight is something I’ll never forget. The crisp mountain air, the mirror-calm lake, and the gentle sound of water lapping against the quay created the perfect backdrop for a peaceful stroll. Treated to postcard perfect views, a serene water, flower lined pathways, and the gentle rhythm of swans gliding across the lake. It is a must visit. PS: Whether you’re sipping a coffee as dawn breaks or enjoying the rose-gold glow of sunset on snowy peaks, every moment here feels like a postcard comes to life. If you’re after pure Alpine beauty and true relaxation, this spot i.e the Lake Brienz is not to be missed. Highly recommended for visiting when in Swiss.
Beautiful nature and lake colour, felt cold in morning ride twice in boat and extremely breathtaking views in Autumn with beautiful tree colours of lake and landscape.
One of the most beautiful lakes I've been to. The boat ride across the lake is a must.
Really stunning. Though, we had to pay 5CFH per person to enter the pier where they shot the famous kdrama crash landing on you
One of the most picturrsque spots most visited in Switzerland. My family was there on a holiday. Switzeland with its mountains lakes valleys is a tourists paradise.
Tis a stunning turquoise-colored lake. The lake is surrounded by majestic mountains, creating postcard-perfect views. One of the best ways to explore the lake is by taking a boat cruise, offering scenic views of the surrounding villages and peaks. Activities - Kayaking & Paddleboarding, Hiking & Biking, Photography, hiking trails. perfect for strolling and offer a glimpse into Swiss rural life. Fantastic views! Make sure you get the cable car up to Männlichen and then take the cable car down to Wengen—the scenery is absolutely breathtaking. Be sure to check the Swiss weather apps before you go so you time it right. There’s no point making the trip if it’s cloudy or raining—the views are the highlight. The cable car costs around £35 for adults and £5 for children under 14, which is great value for the experience. It can get very busy during peak times, but we went at the end of May and didn’t have to queue at all. Highly recommended as part of a circular route through Wengen, Lauterbrunnen, and back to Grindelwald via train.
I took the cable car from Grindelwald Terminal to Männlichen, then I took a ropeway from Männlichen to Wengen. The view was scenic. With the Swiss Travel Pass, I paid half price for the one - way tickets.
Take the gondola from Wengen to Mannlichen. You won't be disappointed. The views of Junfrau, Eiger, and Monch are the best you can get. And the views of Lauterbrunnen Valley and Grindelwald Valley are nearly as spectacular
In order to get here (and if you are using public transportation) go first to Interlaken Ost. Once you are there change trains twice. First, catch the train to Lauterbrunnen and there catch the train to Kleine Scheidegg (your stop is Wangen though!). Wengen is a very picturesque place, discover its streets! From the Wengen train station you walk about 5 minutes and catch the aerial tramway to Männlichen. Walking all the way up to the crown might take you about 25-30 minutes but you will see it is well worth it!
The Wengen-Männlichen Cable Car offers a quick and scenic 10-minute ride, providing easy access to Männlichen from Wengen. I traveled in June and used the BO Region Pass, which included the fare, making the day trip hassle-free. The short journey was smooth, with stunning views of the lush green valleys and majestic mountains—perfect for experiencing the beauty of the region during summer.
The cable car ride up offers great views of the valley on a clear day and really stunning views while at the top. If you have time, take the hike down to Klein Scheidegg which is thrilling and offers great views.
A great ride with stunning views and cheap return with a half fare pass. You won't regret going up on this!

Easily the best view of our switzerland trip. The air gets pretty thin up there though and we were a bit lightheaded, but it could've also been cause the view was breathtaking.
An incredible place above the clouds! Fun fact in 2015, the famous singer G.E.M. performed here! I wish I could see it.
I'm sure this would be breathtaking on a clear day, but note to take the weather forecast with some scepticism. A very expensive place to visit with no view.
The Jungfrau region is a breathtaking part of the Swiss Alps, centered around the famous Jungfrau mountain (4,158 m) and including popular spots like Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, and Interlaken. It's an unforgettable destination for both nature lovers and adventure seekers.
perfect destination for a mountain with snow loving person. even in the summer time you will find the snow here. there are rides as well if you got thrill
The views!!!!!!! Unmatched from taking the train up! Absolutely incredible passing through the little stops along the way! There is a restaurant and bar at the top! Too cool to be able to stand in the snow at the top! Never disappointed with the views up here!
Worth the travel and price. If not on high season, don’t book the seat reservation. The train had plenty of seats. The view on top is amazing. The facility is excellent and possible for almost anyone. I visited them with my over 70 parents ☺️

Beautiful, tall, gorgeous falls, sitting just beyond a small village that obviously gets a lot of tourists' attention. There's a large paid parking lot near the base of the falls and the trail up to the side of the falls. And, though there's a crowd headed up the trail, it's worth taking! Just make sure to bring good shoes and maybe an umbrella or raincoat, or you will get wet!
An amazing sight! The waterfalls + the surrounding mountains, the sky and the villages= perfection. It’s the perfect blend of grandeur and simplicity—nature’s own masterpiece. I can stay here all day staring at the naturescapes and to just people watch. Nature therapy at its best.
Staubbach Falls is located near Lauterbrunnen Station, and the view is absolutely breathtaking. The waterfall is surrounded by stunning cliffs that make the scenery look magical. You can even walk behind the waterfall, which makes the experience even more amazing. It’s truly a spectacular and unforgettable place!
One of Europe’s highest free-falling waterfalls (almost 300m). It feels like a silver ribbon drifting down the rock face. Simple, peaceful, and straight out of a postcard. Just stand and admire - pure Swiss magic! Great views of snow capped mountains from the same site. There's a church and a railway station nearby.
Honestly, the waterfall itself felt pretty average — I’ve seen too many. But with the Swiss flag waving and the sunlight shining through, it did have its own special charm.
Lauterbrunnen is a small village that attracts quite a lot of tourists, and the public restrooms can be insufficient. This was our second visit after 12 years, and it seems like there are even more tourists now than before.
Take a short hike from the town of Lauterbrunnen to find the stubbach falls. In all honestly, it was nothing majestic , just a small waterfall the goes off the top of the cliff.
Beautiful, amazing, wonderful. But don’t take the little hike that goes behind it if it’s crowded. Long waiting time and not worth it. Take the cable cars for better views.

One of the most striking places I’ve visited in Switzerland. The raw beauty of the cliffs, the turquoise Aare river, and the sheer force of nature make this an unforgettable experience. We visited on a weekend and got in without any waiting – no need to book tickets in advance. The trail is not difficult, even kids can handle it. Just wear proper shoes, as some parts can be slippery due to the mist. If you’re looking for a place where nature still demands respect, this is it. 📍 Easy parking nearby. 🚶‍♀️ Great for a peaceful walk or slow exploration. 📸 And perfect for lovers of photography and dramatic landscapes.
Must see place. Stunning gorgeous and waterfall. Well maintained walkway. Ticket price includes the option to get the train back. Very clean cafe and toilet facilities. Staff very friendly.
Beautiful stroll through an impressive gorgeous. Worth the entry fee as it is used for upkeep of the board walk. Really spectacular and worth a visit. Understand it can get busy which would diminish the visit, so pick your time I guess. Parking available.
Even on a cold and windy day the gorge was impressive. Leaves were swirling and if felt like the wind would push us back at times but we continued on along the edge of the gorge. Perhaps because of the weather and the last time of day there were few other visitors, which was nice as it offered the opportunity for photos without strangers in view. The moves in and out of the tunnels made the walk a little more interesting, and the placards designed for the children were also a good distraction for them. We opted for the train return due to the late hour, which was an interesting experience in itself. The station hardly seemed like a place to wait for a train. Staff at both ends were very nice and helpful. While other reviewers say this isn't as impressive as other gorges around the Alps, I disagree, I very much enjoyed the 45 minute walk and would recommend it to friends. We did not really spend much time checking out the shops, restaurant, or at the playground, but they are there for additional services. Free parking was also available at both ends but the the west entrance had significantly more space. Side note: You can buy a combo ticket on the Zentral Bahn trains while on the way to the entrance to cover the train and the gorge. The ticket we bought at the gorge also covered our return on the train.
This was such an awesome place to visit when in Hasli Valley in Bernese Oberland. It truly is a natural wonder, and no picture will really show the true beauty you will see in person. What's great about the Aares Gorge is that it can be visited rain or shine. You'll get a different perspective depending on the weather. Give yourself plenty of time here. It's about a mile walk (45-60 minutes) along the limestone gorge and through the tunnels. It's truly a unique experience that deserves a special trip. I've never seen anything quite like it. It really shows you the torrential power of glaciel water as it carves its way over time through the valley. There are 2 entrances with parking lots. We started at the west entrance and exited at the east side. There was so much to see in between (including a waterfall). There is also a view of cave entrances from the pathway that were built to house the military during WWII. Fortunately, they never had to use it. There are interesting facts displayed along the way. It's pretty much an easy walk until you get to the east side. There is more of an incline on your way up as well as some steps up the hill. Just plan your entrance accordingly if you have limited mobility. It worked out very well for us. We were rewarded with a beautiful view of the Alps when exiting at the east side. Our guide met us in the parking lot. You can return by train to your initial starting point as well. We loved this experience so much!! There's so much to do here in the Canton of Bern. Make it a part of your trip when in Switzerland.
Visited on a day with lighter rain after several days of heavy downpours. The rushing rapids were astonishing to see though boardwalk could feel slippery at times. A beautiful landscape filled with natural wonders. A must see.
Definetly worth a visit if you are in the area, a pleasant walk at a cool place. The entrance fee I would say is quite cheap compared to other places in the Junfrau region. It also includes the train ride back which was convenient. You do need to press the stop button on the train if you want to get of at the Aareschlucht station.
A natural wonder. Walking through the narrow gorge with the turquoise river rushing below is thrilling and refreshing. Easy access and well-maintained paths make it perfect for all ages.

Hike takes about an hour. Mostly a little uphill and at the end very rocky. Absolutely beautiful and out of this world views. The whole journey took us about 2 and a half hours with pictures and 2 stops along the way. Wear proper shoes and maybe a jacket because it does get windy a bit
My early morning visit to the Bachalpsee was a truly serene and peaceful experience. It was rather cloudy on my visit. Arriving before the crowds, the trail offered a rare sense of solitude and tranquility, with only the sound of nature to accompany the walk. The destination makes every step worthwhile. As you crest the final hill and the lake comes into view, you are greeted with one of the most breathtaking scenes in the entire region. The water of the lake is a stunning crystal-clear blue .
One of the most stunning lakes I have been! The walk takes about 1 hour or about 1 hour and 15 mins. It’s a long walk but simply worth it!
Visiting Bachalpsee is an experience you’ll never forget. Nestled high in the Bernese Alps near Grindelwald, this stunning mountain lake offers some of the most breathtaking views in Switzerland. The journey begins with a cable car ride to First, followed by a scenic hike that’s as rewarding as the destination itself. Along the way, you’ll pass through lush meadows, hear the gentle sound of cowbells, and enjoy panoramic vistas of snow-capped peaks. When you finally reach Bachalpsee, the sight is magical: crystal-clear waters reflecting the mighty mountains, including the iconic Wetterhorn and Schreckhorn. It’s the perfect spot to relax, take photos, or simply soak in the serenity of nature. The hike is moderate and suitable for most fitness levels, making it a great choice for families and solo travelers alike. What makes this experience unforgettable is the combination of fresh alpine air, stunning landscapes, and peaceful atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for adventure or tranquility, Bachalpsee delivers both. Bring a picnic, spend time by the lake, and don’t forget your camera—every angle is a postcard! Tip: Start early to avoid crowds and enjoy the calm morning light. Good hiking shoes and a light jacket are recommended, as weather can change quickly in the mountains.
Absolutely stunning spot, definitely worth the hike from First. Take a picnic and enjoy.
Bachalpsee in Grindelwald, Switzerland is worth the hike. Visited in June, took about an hour each way. The lake was calm and perfectly reflected the snowy peaks when we arrived. Clouds rolled in quickly on our way back, and we got caught in the rain just minutes before reaching the gondola. Buy tickets for First ahead to skip lines. No food at the lake, so bring snacks. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the region looking for a peaceful, crisp-air view that feels close enough to touch.
I visited this place during my 1 day trip to Switzerland. The hike from Grindelwald first is really beautiful. I visited in August and I could snow filled mountains around me. The hike to the lake is about 2.5 kms and usually takes 30-45 mins depending on your fitness level. It's easy to moderate hike and I have seens even kids and elderly people completing the hike. So definitely doable for most people. The view of the mountains over the lake is really amazing.
A peaceful alpine dream. The still waters of Bachalpsee reflect the snow-capped peaks like a painting. Just a short hike from First, but it feels like stepping into another world. Unforgettable.

Nothing better than getting lost and then hiking down from the mountain. We really enjoyed our experience on this trail. Pretty quiet and tranquil with very few people see aside from a few locals. Trail was well paved and we even found a rest area with some benches on the way down. Def did encounter a few sections with wasps but aside from that, pretty easy hike downhill.
A very beautiful mountain trail – not too mountainous, in my opinion more like a hiking path. But it’s really beautiful: you can enjoy nature, picturesque alpine farms, and a few local shops. We walked the trail between the Männlichen cable car and the Eiger railway station, which takes about 1.5 hours.
In my opinion, Mannlichen has the prettiest views in the Lauterbrunnen region. Do yourself a favor and pay to take the gondola to the top. You can then hike down the mountain at your leisure
Short but rewarding trail from Männlichen to the Royal Walk summit platform. Only takes about 20–30 minutes one way, and the 360° view from the top is spectacular - you can see the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, and the Lauterbrunnen Valley below. Well maintained, safe, and totally worth the small climb.
A beautiful mountain with a plethora of travel connections either back down to Grindewald or across to Wegen. Also a lovely opportunity to take photos of the picturesque surrounding area, from all angles! There's also a variety of walks, either to the top of the mountain or across to the opposite train station which also offer these outstanding views. A lovely travel spot all around!
The cable car ride to Männlichen was an additional cost on top of our Swiss travel pass, but was well worth the extra CHF. On a clear day you can even see all the way to Interlaken from the top of the Royal Walk! If I were to return, I’d plan as a one way ticket from Lauterbrunnen/Wengen in the morning and then take the next set of cable cars down into Grindelwald to spend the rest of the day.
Stunning views and a great restaurant and hotel. The local cows often come to say hello too! Be aware that it is at an high altitude and you may get altitude sickness and shortness of breath. Just pace yourself and drink plenty of water.
Männlichen is claws! Great park for the kids and the Royal Walk is an easy way to see across the valleys of Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald. We used it to start our walk to Klein Scheidegg so it was everything we needed. The walk to Klein Scheidegg was a great way to extend the day at the top. Other options were walking back down or doing the train, but we felt the walk and catching the train down was a great adventure and not too hard for the kids. Perfect combination of spectacular Alpine views, family-friendly facilities, and flexible options for different activity levels. Highly recommended for families wanting an authentic Swiss mountain experience without overly challenging terrain.

This train is a must!! Arrive 45-30min early to get a good seat and sit on the left side closest to the entrance to get the best views. The train takes you to the top of the mountain and you can get off and enjoy beautiful views and walk around and see the beautiful cows and enjoy nature. They also have a restaurant where you can have cold beer. They are so friendly at the restaurant! During our time here we really felt close to nature and felt such peace and calmness. It’s a must do activity!
Amazing! Totally worth it. Try to plan so that it's not too cloudy and foggy at the top of the mountain so you can enjoy the view. There are a couple of Cafe's at the top. Give yourself 1-2 hours to enjoy the view before the return trip.
Our journey stopped at the middle station as the train derailed, the staff said she has never seen it happen before so it doesn’t look like it happens often, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. It was a cloudy day with little bit of sunshine, the view from starting point to the middle station was already stunning. As other people photos have shown, the best part is definitely the second half of the journey that we missed, it was a shame to have travelled across half the world to get here and missed that but we didn’t regret taking the train ride and enjoyed the first half, and unexpected events are part of the fun of travelling! While stuck at the middle station, they offered us apple juice for free. It took them about 1 to 2 hours to get another train up to take us back down to the starting point, then a full refund was given back to us.
This is an absolute must-do — totally worth it! We only made it up to Planalp that day because it was snowing at the top, but even that part of the ride was stunning. You get sweeping views of Lake Brienz and the surrounding snowy peaks all along the way. At Planalp, there are several hiking trails plus a restaurant that was packed with people. Honestly, the moment we opened the door it felt like walking straight into a scene from Red Dead Redemption 2 😂. Just a tip: if the sun isn’t out, it gets really chilly up there, so bring warm clothes. Definitely one of the unmissable highlights in the area!
Truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, an absolute MUST when visiting Switzerland. Highly recommended booking your tickets in advance, as they tend to sell out quickly. I was fortunate to visit on a clear day and the scenery was breathtaking at every turn. The panoramic views were nothing short of spectacular. So glad I didn’t miss this unforgettable ride.
Well, if you are lucky and the sky ia clear, the views are insane! Really recommend for the views. It was a bit unpleasant on the way up because you have to stay with other 7 people in the same cabin all the time and it’s to tight. The best thing about this activity is that they offer you FOR FREE the ticket if it’s your birthday the day you go- so 100 less on expenses and they offer you as well a small gift ❤️
Unforgettable experience with the steam train and the hotel on top of Rothorn. The view was absolutely stunning during the train ride. The hotel staff was customer-oriented and very attentive. Food selection was quite limited, though. But we can understand because it's nearly 3000m from sea level, there's no direct access to supply.
I have to say that it is a very worthwhile experience. It is recommended to stay on the mountain for a while so that you can overlook the entire lake! also! The staff are really patient and kind! ! I accidentally left my headphones on the train and they helped to keep it until I was coming back!!! Sincerely appreciate it which makes me love Swiss 🥹

A very beautiful place with mountain peaks surrounding it. The view of Eiger & Jungfrau mountain is breathtaking. You can take a train ride from Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald upto this place & this ride itself is very amazing & mesmerising. One can also hike on the Eiger trail from this place upto Eigerletscher.
Beautiful sightseeing, mountains. But tourist trap, no sign for about paying tickets even with any pass also Swiss pass. They waited for us to go up near the last station to tell us “This is private train, must pay tickets even we have Swiss pass.” Also the ticket inspector told us “You have to research before hop in”. There is no sign, no information so how can we find out. We’ve bought every pass to every country we’ve come but especially this place is try to get tourist money with no respect.
Nice little village stop on the way to Jungfrau. It is a junction to get to Lauterbrunnen, Interlaken, Grindelwald. Serene atmosphere and great views across the alpine mountains and valleys.
Definitely a must visit if you are in the Junfrau area. We took the train up and enjoyed the views for a while before hiking down to Wengen. I would recommend to hike down for some more amazing views. We took the hike that was marked as yellow and I would say it is doable for almost everyone. It is a downhill hike so your legs might get tired.
Absolutely amazing place to stop by before you go to the Jungfraujoch. It also has a nice restaurant to have a coffee ☕️ or a beer 🍻
Walked here from Mannlichen. Wish we weren’t on a very tight connecting train because I would have loved to spend more time exploring trails near here.
Walking down from Eigergletscher to Kleine Scheidegg is easy, Definitely worth it!
We were on the train when the ticket checker told us the Swiss Pass doesn’t cover this route. No signs, no information anywhere, only at the last station they said, “This is a private train, you must buy a ticket.” Feels like a tourist trap. From Wengen to Kleine Scheidegg you need a separate ticket even with a Swiss Pass. If you’re not heading to Jungfraujoch, it’s better to visit Mürren via Lauterbrunnen cable car, which is fully included with Swiss pass. The views are better than kleine.
