Excellent place, they’re currently doing renovations on the for-sure but since there are life guards, there’s safe excellent beach swimming along with a easy walk to the beachside business/restaurants. Great views allowed by 4x4 vehicles able to view the sunset while driving on the beach. Also able to see the camel rides with the tide being quite volatile so be sure to leave your stuff far from the water.
Just ok here… wide beach but nothing wow for me. People usually come here to do activities and enjoy sunset.
Cable beach is a lovely spot to sit and relax and go for a dip. You can ride a camel or take your bike on the compact sand. Later in the day drive onto the beach have a glass of wine and watch the sunset.
Beautiful wide beach, sadly it was under renovation while we went there, so some bits are closed off. I’m sure it’ll be good once done. One part of the beach is for 4wd. We swam but crocs are spotted at times so be smart.
Visiting Cable Beach was unforgettable! The wide sandy shores, turquoise waters, and vibrant sunsets make it a paradise for photography, relaxing strolls, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of Broome.
Disappointing Changes at Cable Beach – No 4WD or Dog Access Until 2027 Visitors planning a trip to Broome to enjoy the iconic Cable Beach experience should be aware: this is not the year to come—nor is next year. Due to extensive works currently underway in the Cable Beach car park and ramp area, there is no four-wheel drive access to the stunning 22 kilometres of beach north of the rocks, an area long cherished by tourists, families, and grey nomads alike. This northern stretch, traditionally open to 4WDs and dogs, has been a hallmark of the Broome experience for decades. It’s a place of freedom, natural beauty, and community—now abruptly closed off without alternative access provided. What’s especially frustrating is that a brand-new ramp at the surf lifesaving club, just 500 metres away, could potentially provide access. Yet, the Shire of Broome has chosen not to offer even temporary allowances for vehicles or dog walkers during the construction period. As it stands, pet owners are left with Gantheaume Point and Riddell Beach—both under strict regulations and often overcrowded—as their only options. Meanwhile, those seeking the full 4WD beach experience will find themselves shut out until the works are expected to finish late in 2026. If you’re planning your trip around the iconic 4WD Cable Beach drive or bringing your dog to enjoy the coast, you may want to reconsider or postpone your visit until 2027. It’s deeply disappointing to see such a vital part of Broome's lifestyle and tourism appeal closed off, especially when workable solutions appear to exist.
One of the best sunsets you will find.
Cable Beach: An absolute gem for sunset enthusiasts, Cable Beach offers stunning views with a vibrant atmosphere. Crowds gather to admire the breathtaking sunset, and the sight of people enjoying camel rides adds a unique charm to the experience. A must-visit spot for those seeking beauty and a lively beach ambiance.

What a spectacular view of the ocean from the cliffs. I would have loved to catch the sunset there but unfortunately didn’t have the time too. Still manage to take beautiful pictures for keepsake. Highly recommend when in Broome!
This is a very pretty & rugged spot where you can find dinosaur prints at low tide. There have been impressions taken & placed by the track so you can see what they look like. Eagles nests in the light house & a great view.
We went to Gantheaume Point as a group of three on a Sunday afternoon, and to our surprise, there were barely any people around — it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. The peacefulness, combined with the raw beauty of the red cliffs meeting the turquoise sea, made the moment unforgettable. Getting there involves a bit of off-road driving, but nothing too tricky — it’s still very accessible with a regular car. And trust me, it’s absolutely worth it. The views are insane, especially with the sun low in the sky, painting the rocks in golden-red tones. You can also explore the dinosaur footprints at low tide, which adds a fun and unique twist to the visit. It's one of those places that feels untouched, wild, and full of character. If you’re anywhere near Broome, Gantheaume Point is 100% unmissable — a true highlight of Western Australia.
Extraordinary colour! Marvellous geological formations. Last 500 metres of road access unsealed - a tad corrugated with some drifts of red sand but my motorhome managed it ok
Wow what a place to visit. You can park for free. There is a place to sit under cover in the shade with information boards about the area and a drop toilet. The views are stunning.
Sad that we had short time here. Love this place… wanna have time to enjoy the wave and sit here until sunset !
Spectacular view of cable beach and the carpark is about 10-15mins south-west of Broome. Toilets available but note there is a small section of unsealed road from the turd club onwards. It's flat and short enough that it doesn't require a 4wd.
Nice coloured rocks. Unfortunately we didn't see the dinosaur footprints. I think you need to go when it is a very low tide. Still a nice place to visit.

We’ve all seen crocodiles, right? Not like this, we haven’t. Here are crocodiles - big, little, salt water, fresh water, old, young - waiting for their next meal. There are some cool parrots and wild dogs thrown in to add some variety. This was definitely worth the afternoon and exceeded expectations.
A must do tour for all ages. Fascinating to see these impressive creatures up close and we got the chance to hold some babies (amazing Feeling). And we must not forget the guide he was pretty funny.
Great way to see these magnificent reptiles. The informative guide gave lots of fun facts and made the tour extremely interesting. You even get to hold a baby crocodile.
What an excellent place to visit. Malcolm Douglas was an iconic early film maker of the Kimberley region and crocodile 🐊 Hunter.. His legacy is this park full a big crocs and other Aussie wildlife A must see if you are coming to Broome.
Possibly our favourite experience in Broome. The entrance to the park is already fun, we got to hold a baby crocodile which makes the ticket price very reasonable because that was already an experience on its own. The park is in good condition and the tour guide was very fun and informative and has a way with people, especially kids that ask a ton of questions. 10/10 would recommend
We loved the croc park! 🐊 Every though we went on a rainy day, we still had a wonderful time here. It was really interesting learning about the different crocodiles and alligators.
Staff were extremely friendly and informative. Lots of crocodiles to see. Best bit was holding the baby crocodiles when we first got in. Entry was really affordable at $50 and only 15 minutes out of Broome
We visited here 4 yrs ago & it’s still a great place. Great tour & heaps of large crocs.

Both on the phone and face to face Fabulous service from Elaine , Martine,Helen, Shine and the gang. They were so patient and i did not feel at all hurried . They helped me plan my accomodation and tours -and even helped me get discounts. Seniors discounts available!
Only appeared to be interested in providing advice on tours in which they make money (Note: they charge a booking fee for booking tours through them, which can iften be done directly through the tpir provider for cheaper). Refused to provide advice on areas we were keen to drive to, and told me to search the internet for advice. The centre itself is large, clean, and with plenty of staff
Edit. I was at first disappointed as I sent an enquiry which was not answered. However the lady kindly got back to my review and invited me to text them again. While I had resolved the original enquiry myself I ended up texting them about another enquiry. They were very prompt and helpful, sometimes they might be busy I guess, don’t wanna be that kind of difficult customer so I edited my review.
Been to Broome twice and both times came to this visitor centre. It’s a must visit if you want to plan fun trips and things to see. The staff are wonderful and there’s some cool merchandise too.
Each time we popped in to the Visitor Centre, the staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. We booked 2 seperate tours through them. Thank you, ladies, keep up the good work.
I arrived at the visitor centre at 3.45pm near closing time and patiently waited my turn to be served as two women were discussing the days takings close to me, 2 other ladies were serving other visitors. After approximately 5 minutes one of the two women came behind me to return a book so I decided to take my chance to ask about any other potage taps in the area but was informed the only one was outside the building ( the pressure was woeful ) or at Caravan parks, I informed the two women we were fully self contained in a motorhome and just commented on free camping and was told in no uncertain terms there was no free camping in the area and it was an hour away. Oh I got a “Sorry” , it might be fitting to remember we are still visitors who spend money in the area. We drove the hour to the free camp.
The only way to find out what’s on and what to book in Broome… Staff are super helpful, taking their time to help us select the right tours and things to do. Martine was superb.
Heaps of region information and tour ads in pamphlets on the wall, however almost all the ones needed were out of stock… So we went to ask the staff at the desk and we were told to just go get a pamphlet off the wall and have a look ourselves. Not overly helpful for a tourist info centre…

I have attended a number of museums conferences over the years, and Broome Historical Museum always seemed to have an innovative project on the go. I finally got to visit a couple of weeks ago, and I thought it was brilliant. It actually tells the story of Broome ( unlike some other museums, which don't seem focussed on highlighting their local area history). Congratulations on an excellent museum, and a nod from UNESCO for preserving and restoring the sailmakers shed.
We can understand why this is regarded as one of the finest regional museums in Australia. It is located in three heritage buildings including the old Customs House and the very unique Sailmaker’s Shed. The museum is full of amazing resources and gives a comprehensive picture of the various aspects of Broome with a particular emphasis on those pivotal shaping events such as the pearling industry, World War II air raids, the multicultural nature of the history and a reasonable coverage of the local Indigenous people’s. The Museum website is quite informative and we found the volunteers to be incredibly helpful and informed. There is so much here that it is important to set a bit of time aside to appreciate all that it has to offer.
Well worth a visit when travelling through Broome. There is an abundance of history in Broome and the museum provides a wealth of information on topics such as: local indigenous culture and hardships post arrival of settlers, opal farming, impact of war on the town and it’s inhabitants. Also interesting display and information on dinosaur fossils and footprints found in the area. Well with the entrance fee, very friendly staff. I recommend allowing a minimum one hour for a visit. Nice outside sheltered area if you need a rest.
There is a lot of history here about the local pearl industry, something that I was not aware of when visiting Broome. There is some good WWII history on the Japanese attacks on Broome and how the war affected the Pearl industry. There are some restored parts from recovered aircraft and pearl luggers shot down or sunk during the war. Overall worth the $12 entry.
What a cracker this museum is! It's grey nomad season here in Australia and if you're schmoozing around Broome make sure you pay a visit to this fascinating, professional and informative museum. Kudos to all the people working and volunteering here, you do a superb job of preserving a unique history. Cheers. #bettybird
Fantastic place with lots of history. Exhibitions are very informative and the staff (specifically Madonna) are amazing. A must if you're in the area
A very worthwhile museum to visit! A great collection and well put together. The shell collection was my favourite exhibit. Absolutely incredible!!!!
An absolute gem! We spent a couple of hours in there, so interesting to learn about Broome's early days. They allowed us to bring our dog in with us and they recognise Companion Cards too. A big thanks to all the volunteers who have created and maintain this great historical museum.

Had THE BEST DAY! We were driven from Broome up north to Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, we learnt all about how they are produced and also the history of this place which was really interesting and better than expected. Then we went and got a seaplane that landed on a pontoon, on the pontoon was a section we could get in and swim right next to these sections there little sharks come along. We were able to feed them it was awesome. We also got fed on this big pontoon too! Great food 👍 Then we took a boat to see the horizontal falls! We got to go through one of the 2. In told due to a previous accident we’re only allowed to go through one.. to me that wasn’t a problem you get to view both and go through the one that’s a bit wider, several times! We had a great time I’d say because that can determine the difference in water levels. So the boat definitely dipped down as it came through from the higher tide section to lower. Was so much fun. Apparently David Attenborough named it this which is so cool. Then we left there and got on a plane that took us over the falls which is next level amazing! Truly get there ASAP! Soon you won’t be able to go through either of the gorges. Saying that even if you get to view it in a boat I think it’ll still be worth it cos you can see one side is higher water from afar and that in itself looks great.
Amazing experience. Such a beautiful place. The staff made the day extra special and a special thanks to Tommy, Sam and Gordon
Absolutely 💯 fantastic 👏 flew from Broome to Derby then seaplane to horizontal falls. By boat to the jet wave pearl boat - then adventure for 24 hours. helicopter trips numerous boat trips a fishing trip and just the best night in the boat in Talbot Bay. A must do for anyone who lives for adventure and beautiful scenery. 😍
What a fantastic experience, unforgettable. Highly recommend you do this. The staff were amazing, Riley was our pilot on the sea plane, he was very knowledgeable of the local area, showing us all the amazing sights. Well done Horizontal Falls we loved our bucket list experience.
12th July was a day remember .Awesome experience all staff were excellent BIG shout to Daniel ( pilot) Sam and Callum you guys made us feel we were on top of the world
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary with a trip up to the falls and I'm so glad we did. The most amazing day, filled with activity, natural beauty, great food and near flawless service from everybody we came into contact with. Huge thanks to the team
Did this in 2013, awesome trip. Did it from Derby and stayed the night. Staff and equipment were excellent. A must do. My wife had broken her ankle the night before and was in plaster to her thigh, still all the staff helped and were great. Food was great too. Could see sharks from our room windows. Awesome...
An incredible half day experience discovering the horizontal Falls and the spectacular surrounding landscapes. This is a must do if visiting this area. It is an expensive tour, but do yourself a favour and spoil yourself, you won't regret it! When you also break down the whole adventure it is completely worth it. Two seaplane trips (with the scenic flight one of the most incredible flights I have ever taken) jet boat tour and a scenic cruise. All of the staff were very helpful, welcoming and made every effort to make sure everyone enjoyed their trip. If there is only one adventure tour you do while in Broome, make sure you do this one!

Loved our night. Saw Mission Impossible. It got cool. Great that you can take in hot food . Sound could have been a little louder. Bucket list experience. Thanks Broome.
Enjoyed the unique experience. Children had bean bags to lie on to enjoy the movie. You could also stargaze and see planes flying overhead. We could bring our own dinner to enjoy at the movies. Need to secure your own transport beforehand as buses would have stopped service when the movies ended.
Watched a movie at this historic theatre. It’s a really once in a lifetime experience watching a current film in a rustic setting. Seats are hammock type seating, pretty comfortable but a bit hard to get up after a couple of hours of sitting. Sound system was a bit patchy but you can still hear most of the conversation. The interesting part was the grass patch in front of the screen, which was very popular with kids. They were literally screaming in with a bean bag in tow and grabbed their favourite spots there. Refreshment kiosk has a popcorn stand and alcoholic drinks available too! It’s right next to the ticket booth, so you grab the food before going to any seat that you like! There’s a visitor book in the theatre too, so you can leave your entry before leaving!
I loved it here; Saw 3 films 2 in one night 1 on an other. Picture and sound quality great. Happened to see Kangaroo Island; the best film of the year by far; And Weapons -which along with Bring her back- have been the best horror films in 10 years Comfortable seating; and pillows, cushions and blankets a plenty
Went to watch the conjuring at 8 pm. One of the best and unique cinema experiences! Affordable and we'll worth it. Lovely crowd made it a bit less scary luckily! Ps was a little depressed after tasting the popcorn and not tasting sweeth sugar and butter. But better for the health!
My daughter took us to the cinema while we were visiting from England. I have not been to an outdoor cinema before and it was a lovely experience. We saw helicopters flying and a plane which meant sometimes we could not quite hear the sound. The seats were like deck chairs and they provided pillows and cushions for our use. They have toilets and a bar, you can also buy pop corn.
Best place to be. It is always a lovely experience- especially when the planes fly over. This place has stories to tell...
Such a fun venue, cushions to lay on in the front or pillows to prop up seats for kids. Fantastic atmosphere with fruit bats flying past the screen the stars above and the occasional aircraft. A must do whilst in Broome. We watched kangaroo which was perfect

Beautiful spot to chill and enjoy the Broome vibes! Town Beach is an absolute gem. Whether you're catching the sunrise, having a coffee at the café nearby, or just relaxing under the shady trees, it's the perfect place to unwind. The water is calm and great for a swim at high tide, and there's a great kids’ water park too if you're travelling with family. Heaps of space to sit and watch the tides roll in — and if you're lucky, you might catch the Staircase to the Moon event. Clean, peaceful, and close to town. Couldn’t ask for a better beach to chill out in Broome.
What a fabulous park, everything you need and look forward to. Plenty of parking but it still fills up so getting in early is a good idea with a few parking spots under big trees for great shade. There are toilets, bins and water available and after 10am there are food, coffee and ice cream vans. So great! The tide goes a long way out which offers a cooling walk on the wet sand. The jetty is nice and the history is interesting.
What a pretty area of Broome. There is a great playground & bike track, a jetty you can walk out on to fish & a great place to see stairway to the moon. Markets are also held here.
Great place to relax, new jetty and lawns make it perfect family friendly.. Markets on Tuesday and Thursday and plenty of food options. Also worth while reading the history of the area, the Catalina’s attacked by Japanese Zero’s etc..
Have parking. Can come chill. But should come near sunset time. I went there at 4 still super hot because of the sun but the weather is nice.
The contrast of colours of the water, sand and red dirt is awesome. Great shady grassed areas and tables to sit and enjoy the view
Hi, I'm Lilly and my little sister Skye. We are labradors travelling around Australia with mum and dad. We went to the beach at Broome every day. Yippi. Love it
Lovely play area for children, lots of shade. Loved the information on the statues, makes you realise how lucky we are not to have been through what they went through.

The Bungle Bungles is an absolutely amazing and special place. The APT Wilderness Lodge is a lovely place to stay. It has some of the friendliest and welcoming staff I've ever visited, and the food is fantastic. Not what I was expecting, but in the best way possible!
Not as good as sister hotel in Bell Gorge. Semi permanent tents could do with sprucing up though they are comfortable enough. Service during our stay was pretty ordinary. Staff were barely trained, albeit perfectly pleasant, and the food on one of our 2 nights was dreadful. Breakfast is a rushed affair, you better be out by 8am, and items that run out are not replaced regardless of the time. I think I'd probably try to stay somewhere else if I returned to Bungle Bungles.
This is an unexpected gem out in the middle of nowhere. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Stayed in a tent with an ensuite. Hot shower, comfy bed. The meals were amazing and drink prices are very reasonable for such a remote location. Each evening everyone would meet in outdoor eating areas, the staff would run through the menu and on our last day with had a trip out to the Bungle Bungles, so dessert that night was a dish that resembled the Bungle Bungles. Breakfast was a simple affair, just a BBQ, with plenty of fresh fruit, juice, tea & coffee to grab for yourself.
Had a wonderful time from the moment we arrived. Lovely accommodation, super hot shower both night & morning. Dinner was superb & was unbelievable how organized the staff were so each table received their meals together. All staff & tour guides were so friendly I will recommend the Wilderness Lodge to all my friends & fellow travelers.
Very cute tents... some cobwebs and a bit dirty in the washroom. Evenings very cold as there is soooo much ventilation in the tent. A real outdoor experience. Pack warm! Food was not great, no options and rather bland in flavor! Pack snacks for sure!
In a stunning location, this wilderness lodge has that rustic charm to give that remote glamping experience, (the track in us 4WD only and takes upto 2 hours to do the 64kms) whilst still providing all the modern essentials you need, if you find it hard to disconnect. The staff provide a wonderful experience and are great to be around and the food was exceptional. I would love to go back.
Definitely only 4x4 access, but worth the drive. Lovely friendly staff, eco conscious. Waking to native birds.
food was excellent and glamping tent ⛺️ was a great experience.

Slide 1 of 8
Learn some history and read some familiar Chinese, many many from Guangdong and other provinces.
Walking through the Broome Japanese Cemetery, one is immediately struck by the sense of reverence and remembrance. The rows of weathered stone headstones, some inscribed with Japanese characters, stand as a tribute to the hundreds of Japanese divers who lost their lives in Broome’s pearling industry. This cemetery honours their sacrifice and acknowledges their role in shaping Broome’s history. But for Aboriginal Australians, particularly the Yawuru people, this cemetery also tells a deeper, more complex story—one of labour, exploitation, and dispossession. The pearling industry in Broome did not only cost the lives of Japanese divers; it also had a devastating impact on Aboriginal communities, who were among the first forced into this dangerous and often deadly work. Before Japanese and other Asian workers were brought to Broome, Aboriginal people—men, women, and even children—were used as free diving labour. They were often kidnapped, enslaved, and coerced into diving for pearl shells under brutal conditions. Many drowned, suffered from decompression sickness, or were left with lifelong injuries. Their graves, however, are not marked with carved headstones. In most cases, they remain unrecorded, their stories largely erased from mainstream history. While the Japanese Cemetery rightly stands as a memorial to those lost, it also serves as a reminder of the unacknowledged Aboriginal lives lost in the same industry. It highlights the selective ways in which Broome—and Australia as a whole—chooses to remember history. The Japanese divers were honoured as pioneers, their contributions recognised in stone, while the Aboriginal labourers who came before them remain largely invisible. This is not to diminish the suffering of the Japanese divers, who faced exploitation, racism, and extreme conditions in a foreign land. But for Aboriginal Australians, the cemetery is a symbol of how history is remembered for some, and forgotten for others. If Broome can honour the Japanese workers who built the pearling industry, can it also find the space to acknowledge the Aboriginal people who were the first forced into its depths? Perhaps true reconciliation lies not just in preserving the past, but in making sure that all voices—especially those silenced for too long—are finally heard.
Very interesting and informative. A must visit. Chinese and Muslim sections also available.
Very moving experience visiting the Japanese cemetery. Sad to think that most of the dead were young men. This unique place helps to tell the story of multicultural Broome. There is also a Chinese cemetery close by but our tour didn't include it.
A landmark of Broome's incredible Pearling History and the people that lost their lives pearl diving in hard hat helmets. Also helps to explain Broome's special multicultural community.
Beautiful! Some graves dating back to 1914 from what I could understand and the biggest Japanese cemetery outside of Japan! Apparently.
It is nice that the Chinese died here rest in peace in this Chinese cemetery especially dedicated to Chinese people.

A really nice day use National Park with easy sealed road access. A few nice walks although the longer ones along the river in the gorge are on soft sand without much shade and can be tough going. The best way to see the gorge however is on the Ranger guided boat cruise that runs every couple of hours. The wildlife is abundant and the scenery spectacular.
Park is not closed. Don't believe other reviews. There was a sign "road closed" like 800 m before the final car park but for no reason. You can walk it or drive just fine. There are toilets which looks quite new but ugly, without running water and clogged toilets. You can walk along the river on a short walking trail and we even saw one freshwater crocodile there. Beautiful.
It's easy to access the Gorge from Fitzroy Crossing along a bitumen road. The walks are well marked and easy to access but the cruise is the highlight for us. A very informative commentary and so much to see and photograph.
Bitumin road on the way in. Few nasty pot holes so be alert. Majority of the road is good. Walk to Gorge isn't very far. Nice neat public toilets also. Worth a look. Great views👍
Very calm river to kayak in. Fantastic rock formations. There is a walk along the river as well. Plenty of wildlife: Freshwater crocs, eagles, crane, crested pigeons and other birds. Locals say there's bull shark in the river too which they often catch while fishing. Therefore not recommended for a swim.
No boat tours but it is still lovely to see and has inspired many an artist
Well worth the 20 min drive from Fitzroy crossing.
We had a walk beside the river and looked at the cliffs. It took about 45 minutes to get to the end. We returned on the track further up the bank. There's a lot of good information boards about the rocks and plants along the way. The road out is sealed but a bit rough.

We dropped into the Kununurra Information Centre to organise a flight to the Bungle Bungles and Deb couldn't have been more helpful. She exceeded our expectations! Not only did Deb organise our flight (which ran like clockwork with Aviar) but also had fantastic knowledge of the area, current road conditions and places of interest. Deb assured us that it would be safe to drive into El questro (Emma Gorge) in our motorhome rather than hire a 4x4 which we did and had a fantastic day. Thank you so much Deb 👏
Very helpfull staff. We were able to book our flight over the Bungle Bungles. We also enjoyed the sunset Ord River cruise.Fantastic views and very informative.
Super helpful staff. Lots to see and get info on. Really great stop before you book anything else. We ended up doing 5 out of the 6 things they recommended.
All of the girls here were so helpful and knowledgeable - obviously all have a passion for the region. We got so much information on the Gibb River Road and it was invaluable in our planning, particularly the free download booklet they promote. Friendliest and best Visitor Centre we’ve been to!
There are lots of cool stuff to buy here! 😆 Staff are very friendly and provided us a lot of information! Thank you! ☺️
As always, an Australian visitors centre that is helpful and informative. If you are a tourist in Australia and you would like some help with things to do in the local area just go to a visitors centre and ask. I've never been disappointed by one in all the years I've been going to Oz. They are seriously useful. This one is no different.
Well I feel like I must have arrived at the info centre onthe wrong day going by the other positive reviews. The person who served us was disinterested, talked to us like we were to much of an effort and that I was asking silly questions regarding camping on the Gibb River Road. After leaving, my wife said the lady was rude so it wasn't just me. A person at our caravan site felt the same and they visited the centre on the same day. Like I said earlier, perhaps it was just an off day for her. Not a good start for us regardless. Oh we loved our stay in kununurra by the way.
Wonderful service with happy and knowledgeable staff. Deb was our consultant and she was absolutely amazing. She definitely went the extra mile to help us. Congratulations on providing great service

Pretty cool seeing large ships come in and dock here, would be an awesome sight for people stepping onto this land for the first time and seeing its beautiful landscape.
I remember being able to walk out the jetty and fish but it was closed for pedestrian access as there seemed to be a lot of construction work going on. New wharf looks fantastic too. Still a beautiful spot to visit.
Had a nice stroll down the jetty, great views from here. Lots of people fishing from here.
Absolutely excellent views and stunning water
Great fishing platform or just looking at the view
Not a bad spot for a wander around or a fish. Note that you can't walk al the way down to the end as part of the walkway is removed. The grassed area in front of the port office is not a bad spot to snap a photo and there's a small beach area on the right as you head towards the jetty.
It’s at the Port Jetty there we sported the dinosaurs 🦕 🦶 foot print. The Port Jetty is so calming and relaxing. Saw a few people doing different activities. Some walking their dogs, some fishing, some boating 🛶. Some collecting seashells, some just walking like us enjoying the scenery.
Great for a visit. Access to the jetty is a little confusing but view of the sea and over the coast is worth the visit. Fishing is also reported to be good.

Absolutely stunning national park, beautiful and clear tracks, lots of wild life. Only thing is- watch out for leeches in the top pool. You can see a few waterfalls here and also a cool place to jump off a rock when the water level is high. You’ll need to cross a creek- so wear shoes you don’t mind getting wet.
The Mirima National Park walking track offers a fantastic way to explore the park's stunning landscapes and unique rock formations. The trails wind through lush vegetation and provide breathtaking views of the surrounding areas, including the impressive Mirima Range. Along the way, informative signs highlight the local flora and fauna, as well as the cultural significance of the site. The well-maintained paths cater to various fitness levels, making it accessible for all nature lovers. Perfect for a day of adventure and relaxation!
Easy, well-signed trails located in National Park just outside Kununurra. Great views and walks among the rocks, ridges and native flora. Variety of distance trails all can be completed relatively easily and quickly.
Went at sunset on a Monday evening, walked the short hike to the top of the rocks to see the sunset over the town. It was absolutely lovely and relatively easy. It is $17 per day to enter the park and there is a toilet facility and BBQ area at the bottom of the hike. Lovely cool breeze too. Would recommend having a small picnic on the top too.
Such a lovely place 3 minutes from town. Well kept tracks, nice scenery, peaceful and not too strenuous. It's not the bungles but it's pretty good.
I walked here from the Hidden Valley Kununurra Caravan Park. I went at 6 a.m. to enjoy the morning warmth. I did the big trail, and it took me about 1h30 from the parking lot, including breaks to take photos. I left the campground at 5:45 a.m. and came back at 7:50 a.m.
Absolutely fabulous hikes did all 3 ,two yesterday morning and went back to do the bigger one early this morning as it gets hot take plenty of water.
Awesome spot! Really well done and a great little walk. Definitely worth it.

Nice little art gallery located in a converted ground floor with an oasis-style shady garden and small coffee bar outsid. The gallery is chock-full of local artists work, contained within serveral rooms. The shady outdoor garden contains pergolas, seatings and tables. There is a small cafe style coffee bar set up for those looking for a break from the highway. Being Derby no problem finding parking.
LOVED gallery, displays, video. Excellent staff knowledge of language groups and cultures along with artists. Nothing too hard to assist with. Great garden, cafe, artist in residence centre, even the bathroom was epic.
Lovely gallery with lots of artwork, boab nut carvings & some clothing. Beautiful outside environment with greenery & a cafe on site.
Loved this. Some beautiful and interesting art works. Mark Norval ( owner/artist) very friendly. Lovely cafe as well.
Unfortunately, because we were on a tour, we were only able to stay in this brilliant place for about 20 minutes. It is absolutely packed with extraordinary paintings, artwork and a variety of other appealing items. Out of respect for the artist we did not take photos inside, but we would strongly recommend this gallery. It really is a cultural gem run by artist duo Mark and Mary Norval. It is rightfully described as being more than just an art gallery but a vibrant hub for the Derby community. The Gallery showcases Mark’s own works alongside pieces from local Aboriginal artists. You certainly wish we had more time to explore. The actual grounds are also quite lovely and there is coffee available. Highlights include: • Australia’s most extensive display of historically carved Boab nuts • A stunning collection of rare sea shells • A treasure trove of 5,000 classic LPs for music lovers • Live art sessions where artists share techniques and stories Even dogs are welcome inside—how’s that for community spirit? You can explore more about it on Nic Duncan’s travel journal. If you’re ever in Derby, this place is a must-see.
This is an exceptional little art gallery, with surprisingly good coffee.
If in Derby this is a must see place. Friendly staff, so much artwork to see and set in such an interesting spot. We watched the informative video on Mark and his interesting career. We even got to met him and see him working in his studio surrounded by his Incredible record collection. We didn't sit at the cafe there but it looked wonderful.
We turned up after a 2 hour drive from Broome to find the gallery closed when the business hours said it would be open. I have been before and it is beautiful, but for this mistake that we planned a day trip to Derby for to take visitors from the UK to the gallery, its gets a bad review! Updated review: Thank you for your reply. No cake needed. I will remove this review shortly, as I love the gallery and its an inspirational and positive part of Derby! I had no other way to let you know about the disappointment.

Kids and I had a great time so many birds and even a farm animal section. Spent a few hours there great friendly staff. Just remember insect repellent as the mozzies are extremely friendly!
I love a good bird park. This isn't a good bird park. The bird cages are all the same size for birds big and small. There is a small section for farm animals, enclosures tiny for their size and paddocks also depressingly small. $20 for adults and we found ourselves walking round in 30mins. Very disappointing and depressing for the conditions of the animals.
Roosters have no shade and clean water. I can't sleep thinking about them suffering in the heat. They all came to the fence begging for us to do something. I didn't get a clear photo but their cage is next to the cassowary.
Great place. Well maintained. Big cages for the birds to fly around. $15 adults, well worth it. Many different varieties of birds
Clean cages easy to get around. And so many beautiful birds. Must see if in broome
Various Australian parrot on display, some are friendly and say hello when you pass by. Plus other variety of birds from other places. There are also friendly animal farm on display.
The birds are all in cages but the array is quite impressive. And the cockatoos and parrots are cheeky and full of character
Beautiful animals, only the grounds need some weeding and it's a bit pricey for a family with 4 kids 🙄
