While the staff was lovely and accommodating, the state of this hotel is far below my expectations for a Marriott, let alone Renaissance property. To say the entire property is in need of some TLC and attention to detail is an understatement. My room had sheets on inside out, multiple pillowcases that were stained or had holes. The sheets were like sandpaper. Carpet throughout the hallways was riddled with loose strings or edges coming up. The staff was incredibly helping trying to make up for or address some of the issues but given it was a one night stay there was little to be done.

I called the hotel directly to make sure the reservation went through properly. And I spoke to Josh, who was absolutely amazing. The booking source had merged our names together and somehow separated our two rooms in the reservations making it difficult to initially locate our reservations. Josh fixed everything! He was patient and thoughtful. The birthday girl was surprised with a piece of cake and bottle of wine. He also gave her a suite with an adjoining room so there was room and beds for the whole party. To be clear, this hotel did not create this issues we had, it was all the booking source. But Josh went over and above to make the weekend wonderful!! Then the first night, Thomas at the front desk was super helpful and offer some options for a lowkey evening. The whole party had not arrived so they were just looking for dinner and a drink. Every interaction was positive. I would absolutely stay here again!

The hotel was a great mix of maintaining the charm of the historic building while having modernized rooms. The rooms were a fairly stark white which did mean scuffs and scrapes were very visible, but upon arrival everything was very clean. The valet service was excellent as well and the location is perfect if you are going to be in the downtown area - it was walkable to most places I need to be and I only needed my car for sightseeing farther away. There were some great food choices nearby and the hotel restaurant offered 1,000 Bonvoy points when you spend $30 in the on-site restaurant. The only downside was the lack of consistent housekeeping. I was there for 5 nights and housekeeping only made it to my room twice. The second time, I had to call the front desk 5 times to get someone sent up. I was spending 8 - 10 hours out of my room, coming back well after 3pm to a room still unmade. The reason I had to be adamant about someone coming up the second time was that I was out of towels, the bed linens were untucked (and too tight for me to do myself) and I had amassed quite a bit of trash since the last visit. At first, I was super happy with the response. The front desk said head out for about 45 minutes and grab lunch and when you get back it'll be done because I'm sending someone up right now. Wonderful. Except I cam back an hour later to no one having come. I called again and someone was sent up, but they could not tell me how long it would be which was frustrating when I had just come back from being gone for so long. But it was annoying to run to the gym to get TP. Property only has one washer and one dryer so you have to stalk it to use it sometimes. Dryer is broken and wont cost anything, but it will run for hours (keep an eye so your clothes dont shrink in there). Washer is $1.50 - quarters only. ATMs don't work so great over here so pack quarters from home if you plan to wash. If we're ever in Cincinnati again, I would quickly book a room at this hotel. Highly recommend.

The dining room was empty, yet guests were being refused seating—clearly due to understaffing. This issue repeated itself after the Lions game when we attempted to have dinner. Again, the dining room was closed, the bar was full, and children were seated at the bar at 10 PM, which is not appropriate. (Originale) When planning our dream trip to Cincy for the Bengals October 16th game against the Steelers we never thought our hotel would have human excrement, flooding, a broken sink and faucet and mysterious brown staining on the rug….. This trip was planned a year in advance and this hotel was booked and paid 100% up front months before we even got to Cincy. The city was packed because it was a huge game for our the Bengals. No extra wheelchair accessible with rollin shower rooms available anywhere. We planned ahead, spent $600 USD for 2 nights, and were excited to visit the city for the first time. We travelled 3000 miles on 4 airplanes and drove for 5 hours to spend time here and watch our first NFL game. My husband has a motorized wheelchair, so we are limited as to the room we can use, it must have a rollin shower. Never did we think that we would be in a room where feces was on the floor and the wall. The sink was falling off the wall and the faucet fell over because it was no longer attached. Not to mention the absolute filth in the room. I wish I could upload the video of the sink flopping because it was pulled away from the wall, and showing the faucet falling from side to side when you touch it to try and turn it on. The google review is only letting me upload pictures. As we entered the room I took off my shoes and was stunned to discover my feet and socks completely soaked in some sort of liquid; was it toilet water? The whole entrance to the room was flooded. Did the shower, sink or toilet overflow? Is someone’s feces or urine now on my feet??? As you can see by the pictures this room was disgusting. 🤢 the yellow stains on the toilet, the filth around the shower… This is certainly not what we expected after paying a premium for our stay. We reported all to the front desk to assured us they would look after it. Well nothing was repaired, nothing was cleaned and nothing was attempted. Not only that she assured us we would see a 50% refund for the dismay. What a joke, but we had no option as we have very specific needs for my husband. I now think a complete refund is the only option you have. Not only did you not provide a clean, safe, acceptable room for my husband and I but you failed to comply with the agreement when I paid in full for a room. The saving grace for our trip is that the people of Cincy are some of the most beautiful, welcoming and kind humans on the planet (present company excluded Hyatt). We decided to make the best of our trip and enjoyed the city for the great restaurants, companies and people. We couldn’t let this room ruin this once in a lifetime trip. You may be wondering why after a month I am now writing a review; well they still haven’t issued a single credit from what was promised. I never heard anything until the last night when a family stayed and the kids ran around until almost 11pm, but this wasn't the hotels fault, just not as sound proof as I had hoped for an older building. The breakfast had a lot of choices, you could go between Hampton Inn and homewood suites for breakfast and choose which one you preferred. Also a great coffee shop next door and easy walking to places downtown.
