I love this bar but tonight Tanisha (bartender black hair) yelled at me and my friends and threaten to kick us out after a bald regular threw us into girls beside us while trying to get drinks and sides with him even though we respectfully asked him to slide by to get to the bar. He claimed he worked at the bar which I found out he didn’t and they both were insanely disrespectful to our whole group who was doing their best to manage a busy bar. I’ve come here for over ten years and have never felt so disrespected and unappreciated as a person who spends tons of money and refers many people to the place. Very disappointed in the service by tanisha tonight.

Went here for the first time the other day, it’s an interesting vibe… they don’t accept cash to get in, and their cover charge is quite high, so if you don’t have cash you have to stand in the longest line ever to take cash out of their atm machine. The front entry staff were also pretty rude to my friends for no reason. It’s also very very dark in here you can hardly see anything at all. There is a dance floor and the music was okay, but it was sort of disco/afro beats not mainstream music or even really the club music you’d expect or at least I was used to dancing to. Didn’t loveeee the vibes in here.

Hello,
I visited your bar yesterday and had a very upsetting experience with a member of your security team. The individual had a shaved head and was seemingly in charge. He approached me aggressively, pulled me aside, and accused me of being intoxicated and speaking to people I "didn’t know." He then called over another security guard, who is Black.
When I asked them to bring over the people I was speaking with to clarify the situation, they were unable to do so. I felt humiliated and singled out without any valid reason.
This raises a serious concern for me: Was I treated this way because I’m Black? Am I not allowed to speak with others or enjoy your venue equally as other customers?
I’m reaching out to understand your policy on how guests are treated and how your team handles such situations. I hope that your establishment values fairness, respect, and equal treatment for all guests regardless of race.
I would appreciate a response and hope you take this concern seriously.

After leaving another bar with a seriously off vibe, my girlfriends and I decided to give The Bower a shot and wow, what a game changer. It was my first time there, and I honestly haven't danced like that in ages! The energy, the music, the crowd it all just clicked.
If you're looking for a spot to truly let loose and dance the night away, this is the place. Highly recommend checking it out!

Evolution has always been a safe and welcoming place in my experience. I've enjoyed lots of fun nights out dancing and entertaining drag shoes over the years.
I haven't been there in a while since I became disabled. I heard the new location is accessible so I will be checking it out in the next few weeks and leave an updated review. Can't wait!

I really wanted to love the new evolution location, especially because it’s one of the only gay bars in the city. Unfortunately my friend and I had the worst time. When we got there on a Friday night, the place was dead but we stayed to see if it would pick up. When we went to grab a drink, there were 4 people behind the bar but only one person was actually serving - the rest of the staff appeared to be polishing glasses or doing absolutely nothing. It was really bizarre. So we lined up to get our drink (from the 1 bartender serving) for about 10mins. Finally got our drink and went upstairs to check it out. Ended up having an amazing time chatting with a couple upstairs only to be told 20mins later that we had to leave because they were closing the section we were sitting in. We could have easily stayed and spent money while we were upstairs (it was so fun!) but instead had to leave because this massively over staffed bar had to shut down the one section where we were having a nice time. I’ve never seen so many people working at a bar and doing absolutely nothing with so few patrons. On top of that, it just seemed like they were actively trying to not take our money or make the night enjoyable. It seems like a bad business model and it was a weird experience overall.

The night started out great! Our server named Chance was really friendly and professional! The customers were friendly towards us despite the fact that we are straight. However an hour later it all went downhill. Tyrone was the best singer in the house! Despite that he was taken off the karaoke list and the host put several new singers ahead of him. After spending money on food and drinks he only got to perform one song. The food was horrible, we shared a pizza with tons of thick cheese. I went to this location a couple of times. The food has been so average; I don’t understand why they put so much salt in everything. Service was often mediocre, long wait lines, not enough barmen, and the drinks have been not so good to my taste. For example the cocktails tasted like nothing; I ended up just ordering bottled drinks, at least with those I know what to expect. Besides the below average drinks, food and service, the ambiance was actually pretty nice. I’d probably go back again!

Ah man! Back in my years living here in Edmonton I would frequent this establishment on a weekly basis. I have a lot of great memories there. But I was really amazed at the fabulous patio that they created during Covid. It wasn’t open at the time of this writing but a friend of mine who knows the staff was able to show me. Incredible. 👍😎

For a place that has such a great name for live music, the sound was pretty bad. I could hear speakers cracking and the bass was way to high. Couldn't hear the sax player half the time and It took the sound guy until the bands last set before they actually sounded good and that was probably helped by the drinks I had. The band seemed pretty tight, the sound did not. Also, if you don't get a table, there are a lot of pillars between the bar and stage which makes it hard to see from a lot of the rest of the bar. Great service at the bar!

Wow! The absolute best place for EDM music if you're in Edmonton. It's everything you'd expect from an underground/ after-hours place. There are 3 floors. Upstairs is a smaller room to sit and play some games or escape for a minute. The main level has hard wood floors to dance on with a few places to sit. This level also has the restrooms and coat check. This establishment doesn't sell alcohol or food. However, they do sell water, soda, and Gatorade. The lower level had another DJ booth with seating around the wall and an open dance floor. I didn't notice if there was another bathroom or not on this level. Come as you are to dance the night/morning away. You will not be disappointed. A big thank you to the staff and owner for making this American girl feel welcomed and safe. I will be back!

I went to this club for the first time this Saturday May 10th and had a great time. Aside from the other patrons and the good company there, I was mostly impressed by the Staff, they were all so friendly and approachable, I had good conversations with many. Most importantly however is my friend took too much of a substance and instead of kicking us out or shaming us, the staff looked after her and provided a safe space for her by taking her into the back rooms. When she was better when they give her juice and care we took her home and looked after her. I usually don't leave Google reviews like this but they impressed me do much that i wanted to repay it somehow, this and my repeat business is one way I can do that. Good job Y-afterhours 👏!

But the staff need to stop talking to each other and Just staying on that one side of the bar. I really wish I could give a higher rating — I used to really enjoy this place, but I hadn’t been in about a year. I came by with a friend the other night for drinks, and unfortunately the experience wasn’t what it used to be.
While the prices for a pint of draft are still very reasonable, both of our drinks were completely unpalatable. I witnessed something very concerning at Cook County on Saturday night. I saw a small scuffle break out where a man was pushing a woman and calling her offensive names. I was standing right beside them and saw security get involved.

In my opinion, the situation could have been handled more professionally.
I also saw a bouncer hit a woman during the commotion — she may have tried to swing first, but he hit her hard enough that she fell to the floor. It was really upsetting to watch. I understand security has a tough job, but I don’t believe anyone should be hit that hard, especially by staff who are supposed to de-escalate things.
I left feeling very disappointed and uncomfortable with how the situation was handled. I hope management takes this seriously and reviews their training and conduct. Please be careful if you go here.

It's a fun place but they let a girl around there run the place like she owns it. Me and my friends were dancing on stage and she pushed us off because she wanted room for herself and the staff just stood there and did nothing. She did this multiple times too and the staff was nowhere to be found, I honestly would not go back there if you want safety.

We got in around 1am and as CFR was happening in town and the place was packed shoulder-to-shoulder. It's not many times that I was treated this rudely. I came to hear a techno show on Saturday, September 21st and the DJs were so good that I stayed until the very end. Not even a minute after the music stopped, a security guard approached me and said: "You need to leave right now!" It's like once there was no money to be made from me, I turned from a guest to a nuisance. I collected my backpack and before I even had a chance to put my jacket on, the same security guard came again and told me I had to leave immediately. I understand that people want to go home at the end of their shift, and that intoxicated people may be a challenge to direct, but there was no need to treat people like kettle. It really doesn't make me want to come back. That being said, the coat check guy makes up in friendliness and customer service skills what the security guy lacks. I've been to 99ten three times and he was always awesome - as was the bar staff: friendly and helpful. The venue has an eclectic decor, beautiful surround sound, hardwood dancefloor and about half a dozen cozy booths for sitting down. I am quite fond of the place so it's a real shame that they can't seem to find a security staff that treats patrons with respect - having read other people's reviews I'm not the only one with similar experience.

Amazing wedding venue! We had our wedding at 9910 in May and it was everything we hoped for and more. Kyla and Justin were fantastic to work with, they were flexible and made the planning process seamless. We wanted the wedding to feel like a fun cocktail party and it was exactly that. It's an intimate space for a small ceremony - they set it up beautifully with all our personal details considered. The food was fantastic and our guests raved about it. We loved the opportunity to have our own personal cocktails from the bar. It was also great value for money with ample food and no extra fees. The evening was absolutely perfect and we can't thank Kyla and Justin enough. We all had the best time.

99ten is a local hidden Gem! I was only introduced to the venue a few years ago but it’s quickly become on of our favourites for local shows and other big events! They have super friendly staff and a really cool intimate lay out for all types of event goers! If you haven’t been I would recommend checking it out next time you have a chance!

I had a really fun night at On The Rocks! The live music was awesome and the energy of the crowd was contagious — perfect if you’re into 90s/2000s vibes and dancing. The food surprised me too; the wings and fries were solid, and the drink specials were a nice bonus.

I paid for entrance fee. We were there for less than an hour. I have spent 60$ for drinks for myself and 3 other friends. I paid for double shot for all the 3 drinks 15.50 each but the drinks were difinitely NOT a double shot. The server prepared my order on the other side of counter where I placed my order. We ordered food and eventhough there was no table available. We were ok in having our food to be serve on the ledge. It was our choice. Me and my friend step out the bar. I bought a pineapple juice and a beer for my friend. He consumed the beer while having his smoke infront of liqour store. The 2 bouncers a short bald head and a long beard fat guy refused to admit us back in because of the above reason. I do believe we have not violated any of the OTR rules. We were not even infront of your business. We were not wasted. We were not causing any disturbace to your business or anyone. I feel that this 2 bouncers was very inconsiderate and power hunger. I understand consuming beer in public is prohibited. But no one get arrested for having a tail gait party at a football games, etc. The bouncer says "NOT A CHANCE" after pleading for him to let us back in. By the way just curious, the place was jammed pack last night. Was there a maximum capacity that they should allow in the building for safety? Should they be watching this a lot more instead of watching me who is not even on your premises?

First time to this restaurant and was slightly disappointed. I've heard many good things about it in the past so I was expecting the same.
We came in as a group of 4 with no wait on a Saturday night. Our objective was to have dinner and leave so we weren't there for any events, if there were any scheduled for later in the evening.
I ordered a dirty martini which was very disappointing. It should have tasted like the vodka I ordered in the drink, however it tasted like the vodka I used to leave my parents with after sneaking some of their stash when I was 16. I also paid almost $16 for that watery disappointment. The food was tasty and I would suggest you go with the fries that the burgers come with, or they will charge you an extra $3 to make a healthy substitution by getting the house salad.
Our server was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was great and just the right amount of background noise of the hockey game and music.

I have loved this place on Thursday nights for the Salsa night for near on 20 years. I use to be one of the Salsa instructors and regular dancers.
When I was regularly attending about 15 years ago, this place was ALWAYS a fun night. Now, if I am in Edmonton for the weekend, I ALWAYS try to come a day early to hit up the Salsa On The Rocks on Thursdays because it remains the best Salsa night I can get to. The place is always packed, the vibe and the music are electric and I ALWAYS have someone to dance with.
If you're new to dancing, or even just new to OTR, show up at 8:30 for the beginner lesson, and meet new people you will dance with throughout the night. Good luck, and have fun.

Was there to see the Real Mckenzies and the Dreadnoughts, with some other great opening acts by the Night Howl and Devil's Sons. Had a great spot on the upper level balcony because I showed up fairly early. Sounded great and the lighting was awesome. Several bars throughout the venue so easy to get a drink if you wanted.

This place is an Edmonton staple and has been for as long as I've been going to shows. The high stage mixed with the raised area behind is amazing no matter how tall you are for viewing a show. Security and staff are all friendly and it's not a " No. Moshing" bullshit venue. I have staged dived and moshed and been hammered or sober more times than I can count. This is one of my all-time favorite venues. And I don't want to hear any complaints about the slanted floor. It was a theater. It's historical. Get into it.

Cool venue. Weird to see the floor slope upward to the stage but the whole venue is good. Staff are super nice and helpful. Weird entering up the side alley but not a big deal. Food and bar downstairs you can watch the live concert upstairs at. Most unique setup in Herr, I like it.

The music quality was good. Service at the bars was fast. No seating at all sucked. Arrived just after 7 to get in line. Tickets stated show started at 8 but that’s when the doors opened and show wasn’t until 9, which was an opener and the artist we came for didn’t come on until 10… my dogs were barkin to say the least. Glad I stood on the top floor near a handrail to lean on. We went close for the last few songs but glad I wasn’t there any longer cause my ears were damaged! But that’s just normal for standing so close to speakers.. Overall a great live music experience. A little hot inside so dress accordingly! Bathrooms were down stairs but overall clean so no complaints.

One of the worst music venues I've been to. Bar service is atrocious and every sever acts like they are better than you. They require a $50 minimum to use a debit card and they enforce a dress code selectively against the LGBTQ+ community.
Unfortunately this is the only venue to get Anjunabeats Artists and thus it's the only option for some great shows.
Raving is about PLUR. This venue is not.

Went for the arcade and most of the games were out of order. No signs were posted on the machines so you didn’t know until you tried to swipe your card and we ended up losing some tokens. I want to share my experience at Beercade because I believe I was treated unfairly and subjected to unnecessary force by security staff.
I was wrongfully accused of throwing coins off the balcony and using a vape inside the premises. In reality, i was passing my vape to my buddy cause i had it tuck in my shoes cause it was hurting my feet and I wanted him to put it in his pocket. I was standing near the balcony looking down when a security guard shouted at me. Moments later, another guard approached and told me to “get the hell out.” Without arguing, I agreed to leave.
As I was heading out, I asked politely if I could grab my jacket and phone. Instead of allowing me to retrieve my belongings, the guards began pushing me. I explained that I needed to get my items and that my ticket was in my shoe because my costume didn’t have pockets — it was a full-body, skin-tight outfit. After I showed them my ticket, one of the shorter guards (appeared Asian, with brown hair) took it. Then, a taller Caucasian guard continued to push me and even spilled someone’s drink onto my $130 costume. He didn’t apologize and kept forcing me out the door.
I asked why I was being removed, but no one provided an explanation. Later, my friends told me that security claimed I had been throwing coins and vaping — which is completely false. I fully understand vaping is not allowed indoors, which is why I was using nicotine pouches instead. I hadn’t even used my vape; I planned to do so once I left.
My friends tried explaining to the staff that I wasn’t responsible, but security showed no interest in hearing them out. There was no investigation, no warning, and no reasonable cause for their actions. It felt like they simply chose someone at random and decided to remove me.
In my view, the guards failed to follow proper procedure and used unnecessary and excessive force despite me complying with their orders and posing no threat. I believe this incident involved unlawful discrimination and an abuse of authority.
The use of force must always be necessary, proportionate, and justified — none of which applied here. I cooperated fully, only asked to retrieve my personal property (my phone and jacket), and was still treated with hostility and disrespect.

I went there for a 'brat rave', basically a dance party. Tickets were $16 which was fine. The place is pretty big, and thankfully it wasn't too busy. Went for a concert- the parking lot is way to small for this venue- as we are not familiar with the area it was tricky to find parking near by. The venue itself self was decent the show was sold out and more or less had to push our way through to get a decent spot (which I’m use to and don’t really mind) but something to keep in mind if your not use to that

Don’t recommend. The venue is small and tight for the number of seats they fit in it. You have to arrive atleast an hour before doors open if you want to be even close to seeing the show. Otherwise you will have to rely on watching the tv(kind of pointless). I paid for the premium table. The view was completely block by the people on the high top table in front. The table is for three people and at $150 (the most expensive option they had) and not worth it at all. You can’t see the show and would have been better to just have general seating. The table comes with table service. The server only came to our table twice and every time we tried to get her attention she walked right past us. The drinks are pretty expensive for what you are getting (one glass of wine (5 oz cheap wine) and a tequila Paloma was $27). The only food available is pizza and popcorn. Not worth the money like I said. Won’t be going back.

TOO LOUD. TOO MANY PEOPLE. Shots were mad cheap though, pounded that liquor in me. We also got in a weird argument with a lady. A little bit of her friends drink got spilled on the dance floor. But like. it was like a bottle of beer, it was a glass. That she brought on the dance floor. And she was livid that my buddy who was just trying to sneak by her spilled a little bit of her drink. So that kind of soured my experience. he went and bought her a drink (cause he is a phenomenal guy) but, I found the people here are not around to groove. We also got into a verbal altercation with a guy threatening my buddy (the phenomenal guy) while we were playing pool despite the fact we were being very accommodating and making sure we didn't accidentally hit him while we were playing. So I mean, if you can get past some unruly cats, then this place could be for you. Staff were very nice and very quick. Just not too big on the patrons.

I got my eyebrows done (powder brows) by Luba and I have to say I love love love my new brows they look amazing. Luba is very very good at what she does I felt so confident with her that I told her to do what she thinks would be suitable for me so she did and I was not disappointed I was very happy. I am now seriously thinking about getting permanent eyeliner done as well, she did a sample on me on how it would look, it was so natural looking it looked great. I would highly recommend Brow Envy.

I recently had my first laser removal session with Luba, and she was fantastic! Gentle, thorough, and explained everything clearly. She made me feel so comfortable throughout the entire process!! Took my husband here last night for his birthday! What a stellar party! We were greeted by a lovely host Glen, where he welcomed us and brought us to the topless lounge I booked. This space truly does have the best views and keeps you connected to the party downstairs with the open window. We danced all night! The DJ was not only fun but a talented rapper! Pulled up with my girls last weekend just looking for a spot to chill, but we ended up staying all night. The energy was fire, music was hittin’, and the section we got was perfect. The turf fields are great. The one star rating is for the lack of action by staff when asked to speak with a young man or his parents that was running up and down the field frantically waving a large flag attached to long stick, as I was worried he was going to hit someone with it and he was obstructing our view of the game. They told me to tell him myself and I told them that he had told another spectator previously to shut up when she asked him to move. They said they would handle it but never showed up. We had to move to one of the bleacher style benches in order to sit farther back from the flag and stick being waved around and to try and have an unobstructed view of the match.

This facility is amazing! We used it for a small fastball tournament and there is so much room. Spectators dress warm if it is cold out as the facility is cold. There is a small cost to enter ut they do have a nice fully licensed concession and bathroom facilities.

My husband and I had our wedding here last weekend. Christine was great to work with and always answered all of our questions. The hall is beautiful and such a great venue.
We also got so many amazing comments from our guests about the food! Everyone thought it was absolutely delicious and I couldn't agree more. Everything is homemade by Christine and her family and you can totally tell how much work gets put into it.

Not impressed ! Tbh save your money and go somewhere else . Myself and 4 other girls went online and got put on the guest list and paid $100 “deposit “ for a booth. The booth was then ours for 4 hours starting at 10pm . We arrived without incident. Got our booth and began dancing. Nowhere in the agreement/contract wasn’t mentioned a minimum number of bottles. Need to be purchased in order to keep your booth after you purchase it now keep in mind I myself do not drink so I had booked the booth just so that myself and my girlfriends will have a place to sit and relax between dances. I had tried to talk with the woman who does not communicate very well and she pretty much brushed me off. I found it very offputting and unprofessional. I was just trying to speak to her about the fact that I paid for the booth and we had it for four hours which is said in the contract which I will include in the photos. After she brushed me off, I spoke to her husband. He mentioned that there is a two bottle minimum in order to keep our booth. I told him that is not mentioned in the contract and that I had paid for my booth. he tried to rectify the situation by giving my girlfriends a couple of shots, but at the end of the day I paid $100 for nothing myself, and my girlfriends had never been to this establishment before and I can honestly say I will not be returning. It’s incredibly offputting after paying money for an agreed-upon time in a booth only to be told after two hours that that’s conditional based on something they verbally told me once I got there regardless there are a lot of good places in the city to go to spend my money to recommend to other people and to enjoy my time at. It’s unfortunate that they weren’t more accommodating and I didn’t have a better experience, but there’s reasons why these fly-by-night bars don’t last in the city. I know a lot of bar owners club promoters and bouncers in the city, and I was completely appalled at the way that they conduct their business. Like I said go to this place at your own discretion. It was not worth it for me me and my girlfriends ended up, leaving going somewhere else and had a great rest of our night.

Visited this place hoping for a fun night out, but what I got was a chaotic mess with attitude to match. I fully understand what a nightclub is—loud music and energy are expected. But when the sound system is so poorly balanced that it becomes painful rather than enjoyable, that’s not ambiance, that’s negligence. Loud isn’t the problem—lack of quality control is.
The service was a disaster. Being busy is not an excuse for being slow and disorganized. If your bar regularly draws a big crowd, that should mean you’ve staffed and trained accordingly. Watching overwhelmed staff scramble while guests waited far too long was frustrating, not impressive.
Then there’s the drinks. One of the mixers tasted off—flat, bitter, and questionable. Whether it cost $2 or $200 is irrelevant. It’s about care and standards, not price. Bragging about how little it costs only makes it worse, honestly.
And let’s talk vibe. If you’re going to brand yourself as a top nightlife spot, the experience should feel curated and exciting—not sloppy and aggressive. There’s a difference between “high energy” and flat-out chaos. A good club knows the line and doesn’t cross it.
To top it all off, the tone this place takes when responding to criticism says everything. Rather than listening and improving, they mock and deflect. That attitude trickles down into the whole experience—unprofessional and completely out of touch.

Went here last night and honestly regret it. The place looked promising from the outside, but it was downhill from the moment we walked in. The service was painfully slow — took nearly 25 minutes just to get our first round of drinks, and the bar wasn’t even that busy.
When the drinks finally arrived, they were weak and overpriced. One of them even tasted like the bartender used spoiled juice. Gross.

The bathroom situation really needs improvement; it was smelly and quite dirty. Also, seating is very limited. There’s basically just one booth for general use, while over half the space is reserved for the VIP area. If you’re coming for the music and dancing, it’s a solid pick — just don’t expect comfort or value. To enter at 10pm, we paid 20 dollars each as entrance fee!

Had a blast here last night, visiting from Toronto and this is one of the only clubs here that has that same vibe from all the ones I’ve been to so far! The owner of this place did an amazing job with how it was designed and the whole staff of everyone who works there were super trained and professional from all the bartenders to the bouncers etc.
Very good crowd of business class people who seem to be majority of the patrons there.
Will highly recommend visiting this spot if your looking to network and be surrounded by that class of people.

A group of me and my friends went here and asked for bottle service. The manager was fantastic and so nice to us! However, the one friend who was supposed to pay was not feeling great so we did not want to pay for bottle service if we weren't going to use it. The staff ignored us when we went to the counter to buy drinks, and basically forced us to pay for bottle service even though we continued to explain that we were not ready to make a decision. We ended up having to pay for a bottle that we didn't even drink half of! The bouncers were very rude to us as well. I understand that we were in the bathroom for a while, but it was because my friend was throwing up and she needed the time to recover. When he said we had "5 minutes before he removes us from the establishment" we explained to him that our ride was 15 minutes away and I practically begged for the 10 minutes. He was very rude about it and insisted that if we did not leave in the 5 minutes we would be "removed by force". We then made the decision to leave right there, and was followed out the door by 2 bouncers. We ended up sitting in the pouring rain for 20 minutes. I was very disappointed by this establishment and would not recommend it to my friends. Unfortunately this place is not what it is hyped up to be.

Came with a bunch of friends the other weekend and got bottle service. They scammed our money and made us pay twice. Asked another friend of mine for the money and when my friend paid they were confused thinking we already payed but assured us different. After paying we realized they charged us twice. The bartender who took our cash denied it and treated us poorly. Terrible management and they need to learn how to talk with people and to have customers wanting to come back. I use to love going to this bar, the bartenders are great, music is great. However, I came on a Saturday night for a friends bday and from 12:35am-12:45, there was a increase in cover and there was no explanation except “it’s $20”. My friends went in literally like 3 minutes before me while I was waiting outside in the line up. Not knowing how much cover was, I paid - only to find out they paid half the price. I don’t understand as there was no special event going on. So disappointed in this place.

HORRIBLE place. DANGEROUS. It’s so tiny, the bar is way to high so the bartenders can’t hear you. The bartenders are extremely rude and stuck up and will ignore you if you’re not what they want to talk to. The crowd is sketchy. I got hit by a guy who thought he was gangster and tough the bouncers did nothing. The bouncers are all drugs dealers with anger issues looking for a fight. And they WILL assault you if you piss them off. You will get groped and grabbed by aggressive guys there it’s happened to me and all my friends, they’re allowed because they’re friends with the bouncers. They only let you in if you look a certain way or know people that work there. If not you won’t get in and will wait outside for hours watching the bouncers let his friends in all night for cash. Past 2:00 am the bouncer will sneak his friends in when it’s closed. Nobody is patted down. The only positive why people go is for the music, that’s the only reason why people go. Bad scene.

I don't understand how this hole in the wall has a rating of 4.9/5. I cannot believe I stood in line for forty minutes while the bouncer allowed "regulars who knew the owner" to jump in front of all the people and who were waiting first. So unprofessional. When I finally got inside the venue was small and congested. It was comparable to a renovated 7-Eleven with a big ass bar in the middle just taking up more space. Avenue was literally the worst experience. Save your time and money.

So my friend dragged me to Envy Nightclub on 9/23/2016. My other friend that was there was with his girlfriend. He apparently knows the manager Chris that works there and they arranged for a table and bottle service. So we get there and had to pay $30 (even though we're on the list) to get in. We waited for a table for over 30 minutes for a table. When we finally got to the table my friends girlfriend ordered 2 bottle that nobody consented too. I told her and everybody at the table don't touch or order any bottles cause I didn't know how it was going to be paid. I went to grab my friend that made the arrangements to take back a bottle. when we got back the seconded liquor bottle was opened. He said he was going take care of it and talk to the manager after.So everyone was drinking ( I wasn't really having a nice time) and forgetting the consequences of that night. When it was time to pay one of bottle service girls came up to me and tried to make me pay. Explained numerous times that my friend was taking care of the bill, please go talk to him. Then everyone that was at the table tried to leave me behind. Security held me back and took my credit card and I.D away from me. They brought back the people that tried to ditch and made all of us stay behind. They threatened me and the people I was with if someone doesn't pay then they would call the cops and they'll take us to jail. My so called friends were trying to make me pay for my bill. I was furious and I told them no unless I talk to a manager cause this was getting out of hand. Finally the manager Chris came down pulled me off to the side. I told him the situation and what was going on. He agreed it was an unfair situation, but someone had to pay. He told me to pay for the bill of $540.00, but I'll be reimbursed for $250 cause of the circumstances the following Saturday morning. Or they call the cops and we all go to jail. I reluctantly agreed and we exchanged information (phone numbers and my personal email) and we shook hands and gave his word that this would be settled (because that was the majority of my rent money and he understood that it was unjust). On 9/24/2016 of that morning I called the manager Chris about the reimbursement. He didn't answer. I left several text and answering machines messages on his personal cell phone. I ended up going to Envy that evening to settle the reimbursement. Chris was not there and I had to speak to another manager about the situation. I explained to the on duty manager the situation and the agreement that me and Chris had made. She was very rude and saying it was not her problem. I tried to show her the messages I sent to him and the number to reach him at so she can talk to him and confirm what I was saying. She said she didn't want to see anything and told me to wait. Five minutes later she came with security and apparently now have a bar band placed on me for trying to claim my reimbursement. Later from what I was told from employees from Envy that they had no idea why that happened and told me after I was forced to pay the bill they made my friend and his girlfriend pay an extra $100 dollars. This been honestly the worst experience I ever had going out in the Edmonton nightlife. I never been treated so disrespectfully by my friends and people from the bar industry. The lesson I got from this was get new friends. And don't trust or go to Envy and the people that work there cause their word doesn't mean anything. Funny. I always thought shaking somebodies hand and giving their word meant something. Apparently not to Chris Scopis and the people at Envy.

We asked them if it was busy inside and they said there was over 100 people . Will never ever return to Envy. Spent over $100 on tickets to the show on NYE for my boyfriend and I. I went to see Luke Kidgell last night and he was great. Luke did not disappoint. The reason for the low review is that our server was terrible. While we received our beverages quickly, she not once asked us what we wanted to eat. Went our first time last night to see Cactus Tate and it was an absolute blast! Their opening acts were both great, 2 hours of non stop laughs. Food and drinks were great, staff were friendly. We will definitely be back.

Pretty decent place, usually good comedians.
The food was cold on the platter, the chicken nuggets, my burger was missing bacon $24 dollars and felt like something that came from a high school cafeteria.
This really gets my gears going is when the servers don’t tell you gratuity is included, so they end up getting double tips even if the service wasn’t worth 10%. Look I get that being a server isn’t easy… but come on…
If you go to a show… I’d recommend eating somewhere on bourbon street before, then maybe a drink or two at the comic strip.

Amazing atmosphere. They really want to put on a show. Went to see Kam Patterson. For what I paid for a ticket, the opening acts and the main act was awesome.
There were many people in line for such a big headliner but they processed us super quick. It was surprising that the seating accommodated so many people. Not all seats were as good as each other but they definitely did what they could. It was a weird dynamic that I sat across from another couple but it wasn’t even an issue, they did the best with what they could.
I have to say, I understand the staff may be quite a bit busy with so many people being served. I don’t drink and neither did my date so we ordered soft drinks (as there is a 2 item minimum per table). I felt quite a bit of attitude from our server. I always tip well if I’m not ordering a bunch of drinks but it definitely felt unwarranted making me feel like a cheapskate for not drinking.
Overall, great place, great to see Edmonton having options for night life. Cannot comment on food but atmosphere is awesome.

I love this place. Never had a bad time. Have nothing but good things to say. The locals and host are usually great and sometimes even better than the headliner's opener imo. I have been given free tickets by them for being a great laugher before, and also for my birthday. This is probably the best comedy club in Edmonton.

. The long booth row seats are very uncomfortable the stuffing in the seats are worn out. My @$$ was not happy.
. As the crowd was starting to get in, the music got cranked up and became difficult to have a conversation with the person beside you.
. The policy of mandatory ordering two items off the menu is a crock, especially when dietary restrictions are not taken into consideration. Adjustments were made on request but were very limited.
. Overall, the food was hockey rink food and chicken tenders I ordered went cooked all the way through. I did not finish them and sent them back to the kitchen. I was asked if I wanted a replacement I declined but was still billed and but given a coupon for free entry for my next visit. I will not be back for the next show.
. The Comedians were funny, but the venue is terrible. I have never been to a restaurant that made me surrender my ID for table service.

Was sadly disapointed for the price in level of comedy, comfort, amd enjoyment. Waitress was great at checking in and timing of. Head liner and host did a lovely job working the audience , however out of 3 others only one was decntly comedic. The interuptions and commotion of others made it even more difficult to try and follow the " time travel machine " or scatter brain of other comedian, would have preffered to time travel and get that 40 min of my life back. Im used to hecklers: head liner did as he could to handle thou suprised staff didnt step in perhapse a larger more active or aware security team is needed. So guest can actually relax and enjoy. Between volatile lippy tables saucsing at each other around us to people being escorted out infront of our table and @$$ going numb from seats Really was not that entertaining of an evening and sadly disapointing.

Cheap drinks great crowd overall a good experience. Try to put yourself on guest list to skip $7 cover charge. Drinks are cheap and bartender accepts cash unless you are planning to open a tab. Music was good and it was pretty crowded for Wednesday night. Also its right opposite to Delta Hotel Downtown so really convenient if you are staying there.
