I ordered the number one expecting a triple decker to be decently sized but it just wasn't. It was in line with a single sized sandwich at primanti brothers which I only mention because everyone in Pittsburgh has had one of their sandwiches so you will understand the size I'm referring to. I would say the New Yorker primanti brothers offers is extremely close to what the number 1 here is like but it's cheaper and you get a much bigger sandwich so while the sandwich was good they run small. Now I understand this is a small deli and certainly would not have the bulk buying power of primanti brothers so I understand the price difference but if it were me I wouldn't call it a triple decker even though it has three slices of bread. Triple decker makes it sound like it will be a big sandwich when it's not. Now if you opt instead for one of their gravy options such as the beef or meatloaf then you are getting a pretty good deal. I ordered that for take out to have for dinner and that definitely filled me up because of the heavy starch from the fries, the thick gravy, the bread and a nice chunk of beef. I will also say the mish mash soup I got was really loaded up, definitely more content then broth so again that is a pretty decent offering too. So you got a mix of the good and the not so great which leaves this at a balanced 3 star for me. Would I go back? Yes and I will but knowing what I know now I'll stick to the options that we're good value for money and not order what I thought wasn't so good. It's definitely worth a stop if you are in the area and want a sandwich that, while small, is a good all around sandwich. If you get one of the soups, and you definitely should, you won't be disappointed. The roast beef and gravy would also be a dish you will enjoy. I certainly did.

I had been meaning to go here for a long time, but then the lack of public transport options from my home made it a deterrent. I could sense that this was a neighbourhood cafe because almost everybody who came in made conversations with the owners and seemed to know them. The interior is rather simple and scrappy. They were room at the back if you want a little bit of peace and quiet, but I prefer to sit in the main area because I was working and I needed a power outlet and they did not have a lot of those to be honest. I put it in a category of cafes where you go to grab a coffee and chat and not necessarily work. There are plenty of better options if you want to work from a cafe, but they a lot of time lack the soul which this place has. They also known for their vegan options, but I wasn’t feeling particularly vegan, so I just got the regular stuff. I got the cappuccino, which was how cappuccino should be and very well-made. I literally dipped the sandwich in the sauce that dropped out. For $10 it was well worth it and I will definitely be back.
