It may become more open and scenic as you head further north or south. We didn't explore far enough to find out. If you're in the area and just looking to get some exercise, this might be a good spot. But if you want a nice flat/paved path in a more scenic area and have the time, I'd recommend driving another 30 minutes west to Golden, parking at the library, and walking along the Clear Creek Trail. It'll take a little longer to get there, but Waterton Canyon to the South is also an excellent option for flat/paved, scenic walks.
