The views from the top looking out to sea and over Aberystwyth were stunning. We didn't use any of the amenities at the summit but there are things available, best to check out the website for full details. It was a pleasant experience and wasn't expensive at all. Dogs also welcome to ride just for a couple of pounds extra. A must for those who enjoy photography too.

Didn't appear to be a timetable, but once I paid and the car was full, we set off. I've been on the equivalent railways at Hastings and Lynmouth, and this one has a more European design in terms of the car, in that you have steps inside, so a bit more intimidating if heights ain't your thing IMO. Quite a long journey for one of these ride types, and very slow with the final part up the cliff being very steep. We travelled on a wet September day and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Devil's Bridge. The rain kind of added a great atmosphere and plenty water in the waterfalls. The journey was both relaxing and exhilarating with great views down the valley and it was hilarious watching some sheep run along behind and beside the carriage. The sounds and atmosphere was special. It was then a short walk to Devil's Bridge where we climbed down a steep set of steps to the waterfalls and captured some photos of this amazing structure. (P.S. You don't have to climb down the steps to see the bridges. There is a viewing point at top). We then had time for a nice coffee and cake in the coffee shop beside the bridge before heading back to the train. So glad we did this! I would highly recommend this as a top attraction to visit.

Good amenities at both Aberystwyth and Devil's Bridge. All staff were friendly. Wonderful views from the train especially as you climbed further above sea level. Just a short walk down to Devils Bridge from the station were there was a nice cafe. If you want to see what I understand are impressive waterfalls and other walks it cost a small sum. However you do need suitable footwear if it is wet or been raining. You also need to book on a later return back to Aberystwyth as the 1hour turnround is not sufficient time to visit the waterfalls. Overall we had a very enjoyable day and would highly recommend especially if you are a steam train enthusiast. The cost is reasonable considering how expensive it is to maintain these Heritage Railways

I was staying in town and took a short trip across town to the Vale of Rheidol Railway Station in Aberystwyth. My train ticket inc access to the new Engine Shed, but my wife, who wasn't going on the train, had to pay £5 for Engine Shed access only, which was fair enough IMO. Car parking is chargeable at the end of your journey, and there was plenty of it at the station. The VoR station is about 300 yards from the mainline station if you're coming by train. The ticket office encompasses a well-stocked shop inc a model train running above your head around the ticket office/shop, and you have to pick up a paper ticket even if you have purchased your ticket online. Don't lose this as the guard wants to see and clip it before the start and return journeys.. There is also a café I didn't go to, but the engine shed is brilliant inc the lovely block flooring, smell as well as the Southern Railway front transported from London. The platforms provide views of the carriage and engine sheds. The whole site is in great condition and has obviously had a lot of money spent on it. The toilets are magnificent. My service was at 12:15, and I witnessed the engine being prepped in advance. It was raining, but this made the engine appear even more magnificent. I, along with a few hardy souls, chose the open carriages behind the loco, which I would recommend on the journey to Devils Bridge and stay in the same for the return journey, so you get both experiences, i.e. front and back of the train. The museum is full of different exhibits from the different time periods and different social classes throughout Ceredigion's history. It's well worth the visit if you are in the area. My kids loved it! As a side note the staff in the gift shop were very friendly. I thanked them in Welsh and didn't judge me for my attempt. The lady in the museum upstairs was amazing. We visited with our two children (8 year old girl & 9 year old boy) and as soon as she saw them she brought over two treasure hunt/Easter egg hunt sheets for them which they loved. She answered any questions that we asked without judgement and was very informative. There was a lovely young lady who greeted us at the check in desk and was very helpful throughout the duration of our stay. The room was as expected, it has it's flaws as stated in some of the other reviews, the windows did need a bit of a clean so that the view could be seen better but everything else was absolutely fine! The bedsheets were clean, the wardrobe was a decent size, the beds were comfortable and the hotel has everything you'd expect in the room like tea and coffee making things, hair driers, shower gels, coat hangers etc. The noise was a little bit more intense than we expected with us being able to hear every time someone showers, shuts a door or flushes the toilet. This wasn't the hotel's fault really as they did have signs up telling people to keep the noise to a minimum at night so I can't really fault them there but it's a shame the walls were so thin. The view and location was the selling point for us. The view was absolutely beautiful and it was less then a two minute walk from the beach meaning that we could go swimming and relaxing on the beach at all times and easily come back to get changed or grab last minute things. Overall I would definitely stay here again, it's not the ritz but we were under no illusions about that and for the money we paid it was well worth it.

There is no free parking so be aware you will have to use the off-road parking behind the hotel which is £7 per day. The only gripe I have is the room itself, I was there on business so the company paid the cost so it didn't bother me too much, however if I had paid for this myself as a holiday I would not be too impressed, the room was a little small which is to be expected, there was dust on the bed frames and lights and the windows were covered in cobwebs. There is also the issue off the windows not opening all the way and one off them missing the Handle to actually open it. There is also metal bars on the windows where it actually does open which I assume is a safety concern for toddlers but it does block the view. The windows themselves were also very dirty and difficult to look out off, the bathroom was ok all be it a little cramped and the shower again was small and a little awkward but again not a big issue. I think this place just needs a little more attention to detail when cleaning the rooms and possibly look at replacing the old windows, it would make such a big difference in my opinion. Other then that it was fine, in a good location.

There were so many Red Kites! It was a shame the cafe wasn't open on either of the days we were there (June Tuesday & Wednesday) it looked good. The park is free to enter. The car park payment kiosk was out of order when we visited. We came back the following day to walk the 5 mile blue running /hiking trail. It was just stunning, with fabulous views. There are shorter routes and dedicated mountain bike routes as well. All the routes started at the top of the car park. They all had route markers but do take a photo of your route on the noticeboard as a backup. We arrived back from our walk, in time for the Red Kites again at 2 pm, but this time we watched from the Hide for a closer view. It is just such a lovely countryside park and so well cared for. 😎👍👍👍👍

We were fortunate enough to arrive here 30 minutes before feeding time of the Red Kites. There were over 200 birds wheeling and circling overhead (wear a hat!) waiting for the 1400 hrs. feed. There's a lookout point near the carpark that give you a great view of Pen Dinas at a distance when skies are clear. No entry fee, just pay and park. No cafe.
