The bread board in the nibbles section was a good start to my meals. The sourdoughs was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with a balsamic vinegar and olive oil dip, seeds and butter. For starters I had the goat cheese pie and the chicken liver parfait with apple, both looked and tasted amazing. I had the parfait at The Ivy but I could clearly tell the one here was higher quality. Then came on to the mains, I had the steak and the duck breast. Both meats were cooked pink and tender, with thoughtful choices of sides and sauces. The meats were basically Michelin level. I had the dessert of the cheese board last time and they used a perfect combination of 4 cheeses sourced from Devon, with a generous helping of fruit, crackers and bread. We all went in for the Unlimited Chefs Meze selection with tagines. They said they’d start us off with our first round of dishes and proceeded to collect our menus. Lots of dips (hummus, tzatziki and baba ghanoush) and bread came out, and as we ate and tried to pace ourselves for more interesting dishes, more food came out. Basically, dish after dish came out in quick succession which was enjoyable. The down side was the fact that there were maybe too many dishes of the same kind and only 1 meat dish from a total of 9 on the menu. There are a couple of ways to rectify this for future visits: 1. It would have been nice and helpful if the staff asked if there were any specifics dishes we wanted from the meze selection. 2. Next time we will make sure to request dishes we want from the beginning. Overall it was a nice experience, but I preferred going for my own anniversary where we ordered just 6 meze dishes, however, they were things we liked the sound of rather than lots of filler food that we didn’t finish. A nice thing they permitted at the end was to take some leftovers home in some tupperware which wouldn’t normally be the case with the unlimited meze selection. TLDR; with the unlimited meze selection, make sure to look at the menu and order the dishes you wish to try at the beginning of your dining session.
