There is no self parking available so it will be valet parking for $22. The initial charge is $25 but if you get your ticket validated it drops it to $22. Our waitress was very polite and everything that we ordered came out pretty fast. The only downside to this restaurant is the exorbitant pricing. Everything here is priced more than you will pay even in coastal Santa Monica. That being said it’s very hard to budget a meal here and is best used for a place to celebrate or just grab a few drinks. For my entrée, I chose the Branzino Fillet Unilateral accompanied with fregola sarda, roasted heirloom cherry tomatoes, zante currants, pine nuts, lemon caper sauce. I honestly really enjoyed it and thought it was a good sized portion. It was a large fillet, had great flavors, and was cooked perfectly. Finally for dessert I ordered their famous Soufflé and I decided to do a chocolate and vanilla combination, which I would highly recommend. It’s honestly one of the best Soufflés that I’ve ever had. Everything about this place is amazing except the pricing. I would recommend to anyone searching for a special occasion lunch or dinner spot and obviously to anyone who is staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel. It’s not the sort of place to go if you have a tight budget, but I believe that everyone should dine at this place at least once.

AMBIANCE of the 2nd floor of Bouchon is more akin to a French style brasserie - dark wood panels, tiled floors, brass fixtures, high ceilings and an eye-catching seafood bar.  Very energetic and can get quite loud unless you're seated in the private dining area overlooking the street.  I think there were smaller tables on the street balconies, but since it was raining that day, everyone opted for the Main Dining Room.

Most of the lunch patrons appeared to be a mix between Beverly Hills and LA locals on a shopping break, Montage hotel guests, and business people. Dressy casual ranging from t-shirts and jeans, to shirts and slacks.  It's BH, but no need to dress to the nines here. SERVICE was nearly perfect from the greeters and waiter except the busboys made us feel slightly rushed when they took the last nub of Epi baguette without asking and almost walked off with my fries until my friend quickly intervened.  Water glasses were always being replenished without asking. To be fair, it took the 2 of us to finish our 3-course lunch in an hour and a half - I noticed most lunch patrons were in and out in about an hour or so. My 2nd visit was just fine service wise.

FOOD at Bouchon is the antithesis of what French Laundry offers - none of the wit, playing with the senses and derring-do execution displayed at the Yountville flagship that I experienced in the mid-90s.  Rather, Bouchon offers Thomas Keller's Californized renditions of French homestyle bistro classics. It's not supposed to wow your senses.  The end goal is to provide a lighter stick-to-your-ribs meal in upscale settings. Description of some of the items I’ve had during my visits:

Salmon Tartar - Scottish salmon with a dollop of crème fraiche, chopped hard-boiled egg, capers, and red onions.  The toasted crouton slices were the perfect vehicle to smear the tartar mix.

Moules Frites - was skeptical after reading the description of Maine mussels cooked in cider, tarragon, mustard, shallots and bacon, but this was so surprisingly delicious, I ate every morsel and sopped the last bit of broth with Bouchon's in-house baked Epi baguette. In the generous serving of steamed mussels, there was only one with a tiny bit of grit.  Absolutely no sand in the broth. Fries were thin and crisp.   

Profiteroles - ended lunch with the cream puffs filled with French Vanilla ice cream.  Profiteroles came plain and then the server offered to pour the warm chocolate sauce over the puffs. Who's gonna refuse that? 

For those concerned about prices, Bar Bouchon at street level offers many similar dishes at  1/2 the cost in more relaxed and quieter surroundings.

There is a good amount of seating throughout the restaurant and they were placed in a way to avoid overcrowding and to give each party there one sense of personal space. The seating options were bar seats (approx 8-10), 2 high top tables (each seats approx 4-6), and several regular tables at the center of the restaurant (from what I saw it looked like the tables could accommodate 2-8ppl/table). Everything I've tried was delicious and, honestly, the portions might be TOO large. Both times I've visited I've gone home with at least half the meal to go cause it was so good I needed to finish it. The prices are also wonderful, especially the Happy Hour prices. When I ordered the steak burrito for $12 on the happy hour menu I didn't expect it to come out almost as large as my forearm. Not that I'm complaining at all. In fact because it was so massive I cut it in half for my friend and I to share in our leftovers. My favorite item might be the humble Esquitas. This street corn dish is just absolutely delicious. I honestly could just have this all day. The Open Face Quesadilla is another instance of not at all expecting an item to be quite so large. It was delicious though. The only item I've had that was lacking were the Asada fries, essentially the same as the steak nachos but just swap fries with the nachos. The Nachos are the superior version here. The fries tasted unseasoned, it didn't even seem like they had been tossed in salt after frying or baking. Just dumped onto a plate and then loaded with the usual toppings. Thankfully complimentary chips are plentiful so we made do by quickly swapping to using the chips for the delicious toppings on the asada fries. Overall a fantastic location with lovely patio seating and excellent food. I highly recommend.
