I’ve been to Kasbah loads of times and it’s been great so my friends and I decided to go for halloween. There was a group of about 10 of us. This was not fun given it was 9 degrees and tipping it down with rain. I have never had to queue for so long at Kasbah before. They also charged double the usual price for entry. There was a few cobwebs and spider decorations but other than that I’m not sure what we were paying double for. Now this is the worst part, staff kept letting more and more and more people come in. I waited an entire hour to get a drink. The bar staff were so slow! The bar was also incredibly understaffed. Given the sheer volume of people there on Halloween, the whole venue was massively understaffed. The dance floors themselves were awful- we were packed together like sardines (not an exaggeration). Some people passed out, or were ill, because there was just so many people it was suffocating. It was actually really dangerous. At one point, I was stood in a doorway waiting to get outside, someone pressed against my back, someone pressed against my front. It felt like I was getting crushed, and I’m sure everyone else there felt similar. At this moment, a security guard turned to me and said “It’s so dangerous in here tonight”. After a day wandering Coventry and skipping lunch I thought I had a healthy appetite but this catered for that and more. With a great pint of Guinness and incredibly warm, friendly service, I extend a heartfelt thank you to Keelan, Addie & Sarah front of house and Jodie and Stuart in the kitchen. We ordered the Vegetarian Pie Sunday dinner and extras which were cooked to perfection and had that proper home-cooked feel. It was refreshing not to be offered the usual veggie Wellington that most pubs serve for veggie Sunday dinners. Each dish was expertly prepared and offered great value for money. The chefs were Chris & Georgia. We had such a wonderful experience that we're already planning to return next week even though we are not local. The quality of the food was great, my favourite was the hanging kebab, I upgraded my fries to the buffalo loaded fries, and again really nice, (just maybe a bit too much hot sauce left in the bottom of the bowl when finished). I would recomend the Camenbert starter to share, absolutely amaizing with the camenbert baked in the bread. You also get extra bread to dunk. Included in the brunch was "street food" which consisted of loaded fries and either chicken wings or vegan nuggets. The loaded fries weren't too bad but both the chicken wings and vegan nuggets were so undercooked that they were inedible. Tiny portions for the price too. We left 90 minutes into our 2 hour session because we were all starving and wanted decent food. The toilets were filthy too. The only good part was that a game of golf was included, but the course is now very run down with lots of broken bits.
