Genuinely terrible. One of the most flavourless, beige and depressing meals I’ve had in a long time. Ordered a takeaway to celebrate a birthday this evening, total downer on the night.
The salt and pepper chips were cold oven chips with no seasoning or crisp.
The tofu is actually the worst tofu I’ve ever had. As another review said, mushy and no crisp. No flavour either! Just oily slimy sludge. Totally disappointing as tofu is my favourite food.
Also ordered sweet and sour chicken. The rice and sauce were fine, not recommendable though, the chicken was?.. you guessed it - bland and boring!
Also was off putting from the minute you open the bag, because it was all soggy inside.
Would actively NOT recommend to anyone. Always disappointing when vegan options miss the mark, especially for this price.

Gloucestershire, you should go to this restaurant, it's awesome!!!!! Cards on the table I am not vegan or vegetarian, but decided to give this place a chance. It is superb. Loads of great menu choices at decent prices, a lovely little restaurant in a great location. Tremendous service. Just go, you won't regret it, even if you prefer a bacon sarnie most of the time!!!

Easy place to find and to get to. Went for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon, really quiet and chill.
Delicious appetisers and really enjoyed the Dim Sum! Big portion size for the main meal too. Was very full after visiting. I would love to go back and try other items. Yummy!

Great little vegetarian restaurant, very peaceful and reasonably priced. Although the options for gluten free are limited, the restaurant was very careful to ensure the dish would be completely gluten free. Would definitely recommend.

Very cosy place with very good food and good service.
As a starter we chose the prawn toast, seaweed salad and vchicken satay. Flavours are perfect and nice portions.
As a main I chose the special noodle and my boyfriend the curry sauce with mushrooms and tofu.
I am a vegetarian myself and my boyfriend is not. He really enjoyed it and didn't miss any meat :)
For me it was so nice to have some more options and different products than the veggie options in most restaurants.
I would definitely recommend and will come back :)

I came in during a quiet lunch period expecting a clean, maintained environment- basic stuff. Instead, I found toilets in a grimy, smelly state, with toilet paper thrown on the floor and toilet seat and zero signs of recent cleaning. And just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, I noticed the fire extinguisher— completely covered in thick dust. Clearly untouched for who knows how long. If the hygiene is this bad during a quieter time, and basic safety equipment is being neglected too, I dread to think what else is being ignored? Not only is this unsafe and unacceptable, it put me off eating at this restaurant.

Not the most welcoming reataurant. Felt rather uncomfortable at times and some staff seemed to have an attitude /looking angry and seemed to be looking at us alot. We did waste a few plates of food but couldnt help that some food wasnt very nice. Most meat was very chewy and dry. Noodles wasnt even cooked right very mushy and stodgy. Most things dried out .. No welcome atmosphere no offers of help or service at the buffet when showing interest ( new customer) never visited . I was alos trying to figure out which part of the duck was used i was thinking maybe just deep fried feathers . I wouldnt come again , food was not that goos at all.

Today we went to nines in Cambridge and we had a good experience. The food was good and there was a wide selection. The staff's were fairly friendly however could be slightly blunt at times. Pretty good value for money and will be returning.

Food was extremely poor, cold, tough/chewy and dry, some food had been left out for hours from what I could tell. Some things tasted better than others but generally speaking it was very very poor quality. We tried our first plate and instantly regretted sitting down, honestly it was a waste of money. They will not do anything to compensate. We complained after our first few bites but they don’t care, No partial refund no complimentary drink. You pay before you eat so once you pay you better eat up whether you like it or not. Please avoid, I don’t know how they are still in business.

Went for my boyfriends birthday on a Wednesday night so was quite quiet however the food was fantastic and the staff were quick and available whenever we needed them. It’s a lovely place and the food is fantastic for the money. I’ve been coming here for years with my family and recently it really needs some recognition. Lovely Chinese restaurant in Gloucester. They got a variety of oriental dishes to offer. They have £19.90 all you can order menu as well as Ala carte menu. So, make sure you ask for the Ala carte menu if they don't offer you a one. We tried mixed meat fried rice, chicken vermicelli noodles, Szechuan style chicken & spring rolls. All items were delicious, served hot. The rice dish could have been bit bigger. The restaurant is cozy, tidy & pleasant. I would like to recommend this Chinese restaurant to anyone. Thanks

The food was nice, however I would never go back to this Chinese restaurant ever again. The service was appalling. The starters came out after a little wait, and then we waited nearly an hour for the main dishes to arrive. They came out in dribs and drabs without the rice or noodles! Who wants main dishes without the rice or noodles. We then had to wait over 30 minutes for the rice and by this time the main dishes were freezing. When you complain to the manager, she argues back with you and is rude about the whole situation. We did not get an apology at all. We wanted to order more food as the portion sizes are small but we couldn't as they were about to close by the time everything came out! We were there over 2 hours. I would not even give 1 star but you have to. Avoid this place!!

Never again ! Ordered on 26/10/21. The quality of the food was not good. Very bland, no taste at all. The Satay Chicken was literally just a portion of chicken in a watery liquid. Couldnt taste any trace of peanut. As for the soup, had to throw away as the liquid tasted like dish water. Not good at all. Wont be ordering from here again. Horrible experience with their takeaway service.
Was not aware thar they are running that *and* a buffet service, which explains two hour plus cook times on dishes.
The food was not bad, but not as good as some other local eateries, but it was luke warm on arrival, and, to add insult to injury, I cut my mouth on bones in the shredded duck. I am not contacting them about it - given the attitude I got on the phone, I'll no doubt be told I'm wrong.
Despite arguing half an hour before they were "just delivering it, no, just cooking it, no, we'll be at least 20 mins". I wouldn't have minded but they marked my order as delivered 45 minutes prior to that, and then*argued* they had not. After doing that, I was told "well, you could cancel...". Four adults, all tired and hungry, 8pm? Not likely, and I feel they knew it.
Cannot, in good conscience, recommend it on Just Eat, and would be leery of using them for a meal in general.

Terrible experience.
Table booked for 9 was only set up for 8 when we arrived.
Told us to order duck before starters because there was a wait, the duck was chopped up not shredded, they only gave us 6 pancakes which were gone in seconds and we had to request more. It took 15 minutes to get more pancakes and they brought another 6. For a table of 9.
The starters came about 20 minutes later but they didn't all arrive and the portions were tiny.
We had been sat for an hour and 10 minutes before we were able to order mains and drinks refills which took another half an hour to arrive and there were still starters that hadnt came out.
The staff were nice but they seemed clueless and confused. They had no idea what we had ordered and what they had already brought out.
We ordered crispy wontons which came out flat with no filling. We were told that is how they come. Basically just deep fried pancakes and sauce. I've never eaten Chinese food where the wontons weren't parcels stuffed with either meat or veg. And even if they were supposed to come like that, by the time we got them we had been without any food on the table to about 10 minutes and it would be at least another 10 minutes after they were gone that any other dishes came out, and there wasn't even enough for 1 per person.
When the meal was finally over we were given a discount for our troubles of £11 off a bill in excess of £250. We refused and after a long discussion with the staff got a bigger discount.
This was the worst service I've ever had in a restaurant and the food was mediocre at best.

This place was once one of the nicest Chinese restaurants in Gloucester. Sadly those days have long gone, the food was edible, but bland and very, very salty. The service was ridiculously slow, we had to wait nearly 45 minutes for any food to arrive (the restaurant was a quarter full so it wasn't because it was busy). Our table was generally left messy (in a table service all you can eat you'd expect it to be cleared as you go along). Very disappointing. Prior to my most recent trip I've been twice in the last 3 years in the hope that it might have been a blip, but sadly this will be my last visit. It's clear Blossoms is definitely not what it once was, what a shame

Awful service, very expensive compared to other all you can eat Chinese restaurants. Management very rude and cannot take criticism, when the customer is always right. Chicken satay wasn't cooked. Chicken curry was all onions 1 piece of chicken. Whole experience disgusting. Will never go back. Shanghai so much better. Do not go here if you want a nice evening

Traveling from Bristol for a Chinese might seem silly but not for how good this one is. The staff are great and the food is even better! Never had a bad meal and now has even put me off local Chinese takeout. They always serve fresh prawn crackers on arrival and the portion sizes are brilliant.

Fixed price all you can eat Chinese food. Very big selection of dishes and all pretty good. Would recommend the crispy duck and pancakes from the incidentals section and crispy chili beef from the mains. The food is served super quick and the service is great. This place gets very busy so I'd book in advance particularly if a big group.

I'm amending my review due to recent poor service.
We actually haven't been for probably over a year, preferring another local Chinese takeaway instead, but thought we'd give it another try.
Ordered online - including set meal B, which according to the menu includes 12x Sweet & Sour Chicken Balls. Great,that divides perfectly between 2,3 or 4 people.
Except only 10 were supplied, which we only discovered when we got back home. Emailed to let them know, only to be told:
"our chicken balls portion comes depending on the sizes of the chicken that comes with. The max amount is 12 but if the chicken cuts bigger it will come in 10 if they are smaller it will come with 12."
Um, that's not how it works. You state you're selling 12 of something you don't then get to decide once people have bought it that actually you're only going to provide 10 after all!?
They state that they will amend the website following my feedback, but we will return to our usual takeaway, I think!

Came here for our anniversary meal and I'm so glad we did! Food was incredible and everything came out really quickly. Good portion sizes which means you can order lots of different plates without feeling stuffed afterwards. Great price for an all you can eat establishment.

We were exploring the area in search of a nice place to eat and luckily found this Chinese restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with such warmth and friendliness that we immediately felt at home. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making the whole experience even better.

We had a table for 4 on a Saturday evening, and it was really lovely! Having never been before. We were impressed with the level of warm friendly and attentive service, nothing too much trouble. The food tasted lovely and not over salted or sweet like some places and fresh. The decor is a bit dated but still very charming, as it was dark we couldn't see the views but understand there is seating outside right by the river which I would imagine would be lovely on a summer evening. Go easy with the noodles when ordering as generous portions! The atmosphere is calm, not too formal and relaxed. They even brought out a little cake for the birthday celebration from our group which was a lovely touch. Thank you to all the staff, we will be back!

This isn’t the first time we have visited, we have visited many times before.
The staff are always lovely and attentive, friendly and the food is always tasty, hot, fresh and delicious. I haven’t tried a takeaway (we live too far away unfortunately) so we have just done the dine in order as you like. We love smoked chicken, fried rice, sweet and sour balls, yuk shung, aromatic duck, and the chicken noodle soup was very popular (our 5 year old had 3 bowls!!!) And many more!
Would definitely visit again, we like to have a walk along the river when it’s not dark.

We dined here for the first time this evening. The food and service were absolutely amazing! The food was delicious and all the you can eat was very worth the money with great sized portions. A gem of a find by chance when another pub restaurant was fully booked! This pub restaurant offers good quality chinese food with an unusual order as much as you can eat from a menu! Portions might be small, but you can always order and reorder for more of your favourites and for a set price! Wow!

We’ve been getting our Chinese takeaway from here for a couple of years and have enjoyed the food so far. It always sounds chaotic when we call to place our order and there have been a couple of occasions when we’ve arrived to collect and it’s been clear that they forgot to cook it. Our biggest gripe is that they advertise delivery in our area, which is less than 3 miles away, but whenever we order we get told they can’t deliver, for various reasons. Not sure it’s enough to put us off at the moment but it is annoying.

Ordered beef chop suey. So disappointed! There was not a single shred of beef! No exaggeration here for effect either! Almost no beansprouts, just lots of mushrooms. I have used this Chinese for a while now, always been amazing! I always collect, drive all the way from Bisbops Cleeve as they cater to gluten free! But, on 26th November I decided to have it delivered to a friends house instead of collecting. Said friends house is only 3.9miles from the restaurant. When I phoned in the order, unfortunately they were out of Gluten free chips. I took that on the chin and swapped it for egg fried rice instead (but was definitely gutted as it has been twice now they’ve ran out). I was then asked if an £8 delivery was OK…I was hesitant but also was feeling a bit lazy after a long day at work and didn’t want to drive to pick it up. So, I agreed to it. They asked if 5:30 was ok to deliver as they’d be in the area. I politely said no, I would have only just got home from work. So I asked if between 6 & 7 was good for them. They agreed. Fast forward to just a few minutes before 7pm…they turn up. Delivery driver was friendly, of course (think he is actually the owner) But didn’t have any change…I let that slid as it was only £2…takes the food inside and straight to dish up right away. STONE COLD…I phone the restaurant to let them know I wasn’t happy…baring in mind I’ve always been very much happy every other time I’ve ordered from them. I was kindly told someone will call me back…not heard a peep since…I must say I’m very disappointed. I probably will go back to them, but I for sure won’t be having it delivered and I’ll be hesitant to give out tips again! Ended up paying £50 for a £40 Chinese that was cold…

Very poor experience. Would avoid during busy periods at all costs.
Told to collect my order at 7:20pm — arrived early, paid, and waited. Over 30 minutes later, others who arrived after me were served first. And there was a clear priority to the delivery orders streaming in. Kitchen staff clearly forgot my order but gave no updates or apology for the mistake.
When I finally got my food, it was wrong — despite clearly asking and confirming with the staff member for plain chow mein with no veg, it had veg. Had to go back in for a refund which added on to the ordeal.
Nearly an hour and a half from ordering to finally eating, and the whole thing left me frustrated and disappointed.
Avoid if you value your time, and want a correct order.

Bit confused as telephoned for a delivery order totalling£58, to be told they had no drivers and it was cash only. After sitting in traffic outside tesco churchdown to get cash out and having to drive to there, I entered to see another person paying by card!
When I questioned why I was told cash only he said it was to pay his drivers! The drivers that he told me over the phone that he didn't have. I told him I thought something was very dodgy about the whole thing. Came to grab a quick take away on my way home last night before driving. The staff member at the window was incredibly nice (they take card, which was really handy) and helpful with my order. The food was really delicious. The front of house seems very clean and like it’s taken good care of. Also….Good value! And would recommend the Salt and Pepper Chicken

I used to order from Wing Wah as my go-to Chinese. Tonight my order was delivered quickly, but it was awful. Chicken balls were dripping in oil and soggy. The prawn toast had no sign of a prawn or even a prawn paste. It was white fried bread with sesame seeds on it. So, this was always our go-to Chinese takeaway, until recently. I don't know what's happened but when ordering online they make us wait over an hour to then cancel the order. Last night we ordered and waited nearly 2 hours to have multiple messages to say it was delayed. We got so hungry we went out and got food. The last message was to say it had been cancelled! I've NOT received my refund (as paid online) and their land-line number doesn't work or is off the hook so you can't call them? What's going on? We were regular customers for years, but not anymore. I don't know how to go about getting my money back? The message also said that I had cancelled my order when I didn't? Seems very weird to me?!

1st time. Great. Really welcoming service. Chicken chow mein was excellent. Noodles were cooked with a bit of bite. Chicken was so soft and tasty. Host explained that this chow mein was different to other takeaways as it has sauce but could prepare it differently.. Understood as this as their chow mein is made with care so asked her to make it as they know best. Didn't dissapoint. Seemed really attentive to delivery workers as well which was Lovely and rare to see. The end customer is still a customer. Will be going back for more.

Terrible service, we ordered on just eat from this restaurant new years eve, we expected it to be busy but 2 hours in and we decided to call for an update. Collectively we called around 25 times the line was busy majority of the time but the 4 times it did ring the phone was never answered. We were given an updated time from just eat 2 and a half hours after we placed the order. The food still did not arrive after another 20 minutes of waiting we ordered from elsewhere and requested a refund as this place was not answering the calls. £70 worth of food and they refused the refund because "the restaurant was busier than usual". If a takeaway can't handle the capacity turn off deliveries.
The food eventually turned up 3 hours after ordering. We sent the food back as we already had food from another place and they still refused to refund.
Clearly in breach of consumer rights act.

We found this place through Google maps around our area as we were looking for a Chinese takeaway. The rice with the BBQ sauce was a little salty and too much sauce that overwhelmed the taste. We ordered also the seafood noodles which dry and the squid was over fried. I loved the shrimps though! Total was about £10+. It came with a packet of prawn crackers too!

They used to be good but everything has been going downhill for a while.
The chap who always answers the phone is very grumpy, which is never a good start.
The food has always been lower quality than other places in the area, but I've been happy with that as their lower prices made it good value.
Unfortunately the food quality has now deteriorated to a point it is no longer good value. Everything tastes the same, regardless of what dish is ordered, and that taste is bland across the board. It's as if they have reduced the variety of ingredients they are using.
Portion sizes are also reducing. The sweet and sour chicken balls, for example, came with enough sauce to only have with about half of the balls.
Finally, the guy who now takes orders, aside from being grumpy, is pretty useless. He doesn't listen, gets things wrong or misses them entirely.
Overall, it is no longer acceptable quality compared with price and I'll be going elsewhere in future. Such a shame, they used to be very good!

Used to visit here and loved it. Was back in the area and decided to use them again but it was rubbish. 3 meals ordered, two of which had chicken that had clearly been cooked separately from the rest of the meal because it was stone cold vs the super hot veg. Not a huge fan of the boiled chicken over pan cooked, but none of them were great tasting and we ended up throwing away to be replaced by cereal. I won't be visiting again. Also note it's cash only.

Can't say much on atmosphere as it's a takeaway! But the staff are lovely. And the food is amazing! I had the chicken with chestnuts and bamboo; which came with carrots and courgette. Cooked to perfection 👌 Singapore vermicelli isn't for everyone as it has a bit of a kick. I normally ask them to remove the prawns as taste like chlorine, but I forgot- and it was the best vermicelli I've had in years with tasty, fresh prawns! I'd highly recommend based on what I had.

What I ordered today was not.

I've tried many Chinese restaurants but haven't found one yet because I've been looking for the right one. Finally I found it. I ordered delivery over the phone and everything went smoothly. Just tried this chinese place a couple of times. Its reasonably priced. The food is made as per your liking. I tried hot singapore noodles (dry) , salt pepper chicken and chicken schechuan and mixed fried vegetables. Cant complain. Everything was prepared well and the collection was within 10 mins. Definitely ordering my chinese from here often now. Theynare really good and reasonably priced.

Service was polite and courteous, price was reasonable. Rice was greasy, tasted of old cooking oil and not nice. Chicken pieces were overcooked, hard and chewy. Sweet and sour sauce may have been nice, we're there enough to taste!

We had sweet and sour king prawns and chicken. Both weren’t great but the prawns were under cooked and the batter very thick and soggy. Poor quality eg fried rice too. Only decent part was the chow mein noodles.

I can't complain about the food as it is really nice and always hot on pick up. HOWEVER Last year I ordered a veggie spring roll and ended up with meat, Ok that's fine mistakes can be made. Tonight i order my usual, veggie chow main Singapore style. After a few mouthfuls I see a prawn which I removed. After fishing around (no pun intended) I find more prawns and pork. I'm allergic to prawns and can't eat meat due to health reasons. The point of my review check your meals properly, especially if you have dietary requirements. It's a shame as I enjoyed your food but I will never return!!

I’ve ordered from Chopsticks 6 times over the last 8 months via Just Eat. The food has been consistent and delicious. In particular I love the vermicelli (both Singapore and special varieties) and crispy chilli beef. But in fact, almost every dish ordered has been excellent.
The only item in the last 6 orders, which disappointed slightly was the salt and pepper chips. I’m sure they left the restaurant in a good state but they didn’t travel well and were soggy on arrival.
In summary, I would not hesitate in recommending Chopsticks. I well certainly be ordering from them again soon…

Very nice chinese, not my local/regular chinese but I will definately be ordering from here again. Food arrived on time, piping hot and very fresh and tasty.
I would recommend the chilli beef and salt and pepper chips, in fact, every dish was nice. I would not normally expect the thin noodles in the chow mein but they were very nice. The curry sauce is also great value as it comes in a large pot and could easily be enough be 2/3 people.

Placed an order for delivery and it had been past the allotted time it was due, 1 hour 20 minutes after placing the order. Rang them to see what was going on and was greeted with an incredibly rude man who told me that the order had to be cancelled. Didn't seem to care at all about this and hadn't thought to get in touch with me to let me know, just left me waiting. Never ordering from here again.

Do not ever order a delivery from here...
2 hours 10 minutes to arrive, by which time I had already cancelled the order via Uber after being told it was 10 minutes away at an hour and a half wait and then when it got to 20, called back and the phone was then off the hook for the best part of half an hour. When the delivery driver turned up he had the cheek to blame where we live "as its difficult to find". We live off a busy road in Kingsway and never had any problem ever with delivery drivers finding us.. A total shambles of a place.

Ordered food tonight which arrived without the sweet and sour sauces that come as part of the dish. When I call they tell me I have to request them, even though they are listed as part of the dish. We found this place via Google Maps as we were looking for a Chinese takeaway for dinner. We were welcomed by a Chinese uncle who was all smiles and a young Chinese man that took our orders. The fried rice and chop suey was not bad. Cantonese Sweet and sour was a bit too sweet for our liking. To our surprise we had a big packet of crackers too! Total was about £15+. Would have gone back if they didn't close on Weds.

Today was my second visit here. The first time I had a beef curry which was very nice. This time I had sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice. Absolutely delicious and so much of it. Eight chicken balls, delicious rice and wonderful sweet and sour sauce, all for under a tenner. I highly recommend this takeaway.

The meal was delivered quickly by Just Eat but it was the wrong meal....obviously a cheaper option than giving us King Prawn dishes that we had paid for. Chicken with beansprouts and chicken with pineapple ....not the same as King Prawn satay and KP with black bean sauce. I immediately rang but was told that was what I ordered... to take the complaint to just eat...!!!

The food was sublime. It was ordered during their busy time and was still piping hot upon delivery. Barbecue spare ribs were tender and succulent and the requested "hotter than usual" chicken curry was both plentiful and delicious 😋 Both the lady who took my order and the delivery driver were courteous. I was quite shocked to see the negative reviews here, we have used Lotus multiple times and never had a bad experience. Food is extremely tasty and service always great. Last time we ordered we had the meal for 4 and everybody really enjoyed it and thought it was excellent value for money.

i’ve never been so shocked and appalled by a chinese dinner in all my 35 years. The food i had was unseasoned and cooking terribly if i were you don’t waste you time or money. I had the beef in garlic and black bean sauce and egg fried rice the beef was fatty and an unseasoned mess for £13 i would expect quality that is half decent. Furthermore the coustmer service was shocking i was met at the counter by what looked to be a 20 yr old woman who stared while i tried to order. The atmosphere was dead there was two men in the corner who just simply stared in an awkward manor. Do not waste your time or your money if i could give this place 0 stars i would but since that’s not an option i give you 1

Been Ordering from this place for over a year now and I always loved it. However, this is now the 4th time in a row I’ve received a bad order. There is always something in the order that is burnt / bad quality and when I call up to request new items I’m then told I have to pay for it to be delivered or collect it which is ridiculous when the food isn’t as it should be. Update March 2025. The above comment was part of my previous 5 star review. However, although I offered to pay extra, I wasn't allowed to upgrade my egg fried rice in a set meal to a chicken fried rice. They were still happy to take full price though for the set meal (without the egg fried rice) and the chicken fried rice. Disappointing policy and unfortunately will no longer be my weekly regular I'm afraid.

Ordered the sweet and sour pork balls but am sorry to say they were saturated and running with oil, I was covered in oil and I needed to peel the batter off and try to just eat the pork which unfortunately was white, fatty and undercooked. The sauce was good and contained pineapple. The staff were brilliant too and the place was clean. Sad to say the food was bad. Maybe oil needed to be hotter I’m not sure. Sorry I won’t return.

Used to be really nice, the chow mein i’ve had the past couple of times is vile. Much spicier than usual. I’m not sure how you can charge that much for food that doesn’t taste good. The chicken balls are like rubber, like they’ve been warmed up. ordered it and it got to the door within 20 mins, wasn’t very hot either. very disappointed.

2nd visit on weekend after 3 years which was former Joy kitchen . We had dim sum and fried rice which were nice . The top favourites will be deep fried shrimp dumplings and salty fish chicken rice . The only reason I rate 4 stars is the steamed dim sum were slightly overcooked and food turns out to be bit too soft , but taste still great though. We parked at Gloucester Quays multi storey with 5 mins walk only .

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Hilltop House in Gloucester for a lunch outing before a visit to the iconic Gloucester Cathedral, and I must say it is probably the best Dim Sum restaurant I have experienced in the UK!
Traveling from Birmingham on a friend's recommendation, our expectations were met and massively surpassed. The food was delicious, maintained a high standard, and was generous with ingredients, truly standing out even after trying over 10 different Dim Sum restaurants across the UK.
But it wasn’t just the food that was impressive; the friendly staff and the comfortable ambiance made our visit all the more delightful. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Gloucester. A visit to Hilltop House is bound to be a pleasurable experience. Enjoy!

I don't normally bother taking time to give feedback, but felt compelled to do so on this occasion. This was the first time we had ordered from Hilltop House and unfortunately this was not a positive experience. The food was at best average, definitely nothing special (which it definitely should have been at this price!). The ribs had barely any meat on them, the squid was very slimy and the coating soggy. The Yeung Chou fried rice was terrible value. The Chicken Curry lacked any real flavour. £80+ for a take away Chinese Meal for 3 people is very, very expensive, that I would be happy to pay if the quality matched the high price, it DID NOT! Top this off with a £10 delivery charge (making it over £90 in total!) for a driver who got lost and arrived 20 minutes late...... overall a poor experience and the 3 star rating is probably generous! Fair to say this will be the first and last time we order food from Hilltop House!

Especially the beef tripe in satay sauce and beef manifold with ginger, spring onion deserves their very own shout-out here!
The texture is absolutely soft and tender, the meat is very juicy and succulent. Full of flavours. Highly recommended!

The beef brisket softens to a melt-in-the mouth consistency and so flavourful. Can’t miss it!
Char Siu/ Cantonese barbecued pork is fragrant, honeyed yet smoky. Yum!
Roasted duck is good.
Roasted pork is my favourite. It has crackling skin on top of the alternating slivers of fat with juicy meat and a final salty layer at the bottom. Truly impeccable!

Had a takeaway from here. Menu looked great. Spent over £50 on it. Smoked chicken was just so dry it was inedible. The mixed starters were in a box and ended up with all the contents being covered in bbq/ honk Kong sauce. Rice was just a lump. The belly pork in the mixed curry was amazing, the chicken feet weren't. Then we found a bug in the lid of the chicken curry. No, it all ended up in the bin. I did call the restaurant during the week to explain my issues, as there's no website or email, and was offered to come down and they would redo part of the order. Also they said they'd refund part if I came down. My details were available and to be honest didn't fancy any more food from here. What a shame.

I must confess that I have tried numerous Chinese restaurants in Gloucester, but Hey Sushi stands out as the best so far. Their General Tso's chicken is absolutely flawless and pairs perfectly with their Singaporean chicken fried rice, creating a truly delicious combination. One notable aspect of their spring rolls is the discernible taste of ginger, unlike other spring rolls that lack flavor. I’d really love to say my experience was great this time around as I frequently order from here with my partner but my chicken was absolutely inedible was like eating cold flavourless chalk, I called the store and to be fair to them they said they’ll remake it and get it sent over, but unfortunately the only difference was that this time it was warm. No flavour, no heat and like chewing on stones. Seems absolutely out of character for them as the salt and chilli chicken is usually succulent and full of flavour but it was nothing of the sorts this time and really put me off

Okay positives - food was great. Cant fault it - hot and tasted good. Had the special menu which is basically a slightly reduced menu still has about 70 dishes on but cheaper not including more expensive meats like duck or seafood. Makes sense!

The negatives - the carpet! I don’t know what’s happened. But you stick to it everywhere - this needs urgent work. The place needs a general clean. The gents toilets smell was shocking - it smelt like the toilets of a nightclub at 3am! The FOH could do with a deep clean, seems like tables and bar are clean but all other details completely ignored.
Finally, food hygiene scores. 3* on the door from May this year. Yet your advertising on posters that you have 5* like the pull up! I’m guessing this was before and hadn’t been updated but still should be covered up otherwise it’s misleading!

Used to be a lovely restaurant with fantastic food, we were really surprised how it has changed when we visited for my birthday in April Food was mediocre and nothing like it used to be, It's a big restaurant but everyone is seated close together at one end of the room so you get no privacy to talk, the staff stand around nearby watching everyone, whilst I can see the advantages for the staff to have everyone in one area and be available all the time, it really was not a nice experience, felt like we were just being watched constantly. The house wine tasted of chemicals and the carpet was stickier than KCs used to be. Such a shame.

Ordered a peking duck for me and my wife just as something to snack on in the evening was very disappointed seemed like they didn’t even try with the onion and cucumber slices. The duck was alright but not the usual decent duck we have had in the past from this restaurant. Probably best to visit in person.

Memories of the old restaurant that bore the same name were of great food and happy times. This restaurant was not a patch on the old one. Gone were the wonderful appetisers...Crab Claws and wonderful prawn dishes. All replaced by gristly rib dishes. The mains were Luke warm congealed curry and the sides appeared after we had eaten the mains . Would not recommend or return.

Food was decent although some of it could of been hotter. Speedy service. But we were perplexed to be asked to pay upfront!!!! Before we even ordered. We were a party of 10 that pre booked. Never have I ever paid upfront at a restaurant before. It was then a pain to set up a tab after for the rest of the drinks.
