On a previous visit we had breakfast options which were pretty much all too hot for me and this time I mentioned my issue, and staff recommended a dish that was still too hot for me. There was no offer to make a dish milder like I'm used to from most Indian or Bangladeshi restaurants I've dined at. Overall I found the vibe from staff rather rushed and focused on making you order more dishes, and this was early on a Wednesday evening (but the place was already quite full). The worst factor for me though was the extremely dim lighting - if seeing your food is part of the enjoyment for you forget it. I needed to put my phone torch on to be able to read the menu. I'm surprised that several people described the prices as reasonable, I find £ 5.90 for an alcohol-free beer, £8 for a glass of wine and almost £11 for a daal on the pricier end and 12.5 optional service charge a bit cheeky. So probably great for some but not for me.

For mains I had the paneer malai kofta, the star anise sauce they use for this dish is literally out of this world! It’s incredible and I find myself not wanting it to end! Sweet, creamy but with a nice little kick and tons of flavour. My husband has the paneer lababdar and this was also amazing with an incredibly flavourful sauce. The family sized naan bread was huge and very well made. The pilau rice was beautiful and very authentic, not packed with tacky yellow food colouring and it had a lovely texture to it. They were not very hot and lacked flavour whilst the fried chicken was unlike any that I have previously tried. The best thing about the foodhall (apart from the staff who were lovely and patient) is the ambience. It's a great place to meet up with friends or even for work.
